These people are clueless. Drove all the way down here to pick up two items. A generator, and a tool box. Well over $1,000 in purchases. I called ahead to verify my products were there, and was told to just head down and pick them up. Went to take the tags for my products up to be scanned. Nothing is correct, tags don't pull up my product, that they aren't in stock (showed them website that says otherwise) Incorrect product advertising, to top it all off, I was asked to sit in the parking lot for 2 hours while they unload a truck. They wouldn't even take my number down to give me a ring when they found my products. I have never been so poorly served at an establishment. Gave up on them, went to Home Depot. read more

My husband came to this store and was told he couldn't pay for his tools because of the 'counterfeit money' he brought in. Took the money back to bank where we received it only to be told (& proven) that the money was NOT counterfeit. They even let us walk out with their 'magical' pen to mark the cash with, for us to take to HFT. Came back to HFT to speak to the employee that accused him of carrying a counterfeit money, she called a 'manager' to come help us- only for this 'manager' to come out and say that ANOTHER MANAGER will be taking a look at it. 2 minutes later this 'manager' says that the 'other manager' said that they won't except it because of 'the mark' that showed up when they drew on the bill with their pen. The damn $50 has pen marks ALL over it to show that it isn't counterfeit & this idiot wants to tell me that they STILL can't except it because it's not 'allowed in their business'. I don't want to pull out the race card but shoot. If your skin is dark & you're getting something from HFT- never carry cash cause it prb wouldn't be 'allowed' in their damn store! read more

I am not the target market for Harbor Freight. I bought a set of quality tools 30 years ago, and they still work for my limited needs. However, you never know when you are going to need a blow torch. I know they are used for burning weeds. They are a GREAT way to get that charcoal grill going quick too. Tht's all well and good, but they also really do a great job of searing steaks after cooking them sous vide. Nothing says serious cooking like pulling out the blow torch and 20 pound propane tank to finish off the steak. As expected, the auto start mechanism is hit of miss. OK, for me, all miss so far.If you are in looking for immediate gratification on almost anything tool related, they probably have it here. read more

**Update** They sold me super glue but not a .20 oz of thread locker because I didn't have my ID. You're gonna sell me super glue but not thread locker?! What idiots! I spend easily $1000+ every month here. Y'all need to learn some customer service! I'm over 30 and you need to see my ID love the tools and what not but, this location SUCKS! I go in at least twice a week and I wait online to check out for a minimum of 15 mins with 2 of the 6 cashier stands open. And to top it off, when you try to do a warranty with a tool you purchased 5 years ago that has a LIFETIME warranty, you have to have your receipt.... I've done warranty replacements with harbor freight before and craftsman and have never needed a receipt. Poor poor customer service from this location. Harbor Freight is a funny place. They carry lots of tools, hardware, etc and everything is apparently made in China... and priced accordingly. If you think their low prices are still too high, no sweat--just use a coupon! They will always ask you if you have a coupon, or if you would like some coupons, or even if you want to have coupons mailed to you, etc. They will always hand you coupons with your receipt as you pay. Knowing how prolific these coupons are, there really is no reason *not* to have one ready to go when you shop here. But if you have somehow forgotten to bring one, just Google 'harbor freight coupon' while you're in line at the register--they'll accept it on the spot. (Ask me how I know.) In case you couldn't tell, the product quality is hit-or-miss here. Some things are decent and will hold up well over time; other items should be completely avoided. It takes experience to get a feel for what truly is a bargain here. Some would say this adds to the sense of adventure when shopping here. As far as the shopping experience goes, you're pretty much on your own. There are usually a couple workers running the cash registers up front. Other than them, employees here are as scarce as alcohol at a Mormon wedding reception. Just be patient and look all around the store--if they stock what you need, you'll find it... eventually. read more

You can't go wrong with the prices from Harbor Freight. I know some products that sell are not the highest quality, but I also know that others will last you forever. For instance, I bought a $3 tire pressure gauge, and it broke fairly quick--it was a piece of junk, but you get what you pay for with $3. I also have purchased shackles that I know will last me a lifetime. Overall, you get what you pay for at HF. I can't complain--the service is always good, and the location is clean. read more

Same as any other harbor freights. Same familiar smell the minute you walk into store. Same merchandise. If you see something you really want, just wait a couple of weeks, if not on sale. They run store wide clearance sales and liquidation sales all the time. Parking lot sales, etc. also they gave weekly fliers inside the store that you can use. Note: they have a weekly free gift that's advertised. However to receive the gift, you got to buy something. They usually have small items at checkout for 50 cents that satisfy the buy somethings by and get a free gift challenge. All merchandise us cheap, cheap, cheap because stuff comes from chine and it's not high quality. I recommend for major purchases, high dollar items, you buy the offered protection plan. And you MUST KEEP YOUR RECEIPT. They ask you for your email address to send your your receipt, but if you lose your receipt, they can't look it up on their computer. So keep hard copy of all receipts for when it breaks or fails. read more

First and formost you should go into this realizing that you are not walking into sears quality. This is an entire store of cheap foreign made stuff. If you are a professional machinist, woodworker, auto repair guy, etc, stay away. However if you would like that one tool that you will use once and a while, can't afford snap-on tools right now, or just need something cheap, this is the ideal place for you. I buy a number of things that I know will see limited use. But I get them so I can have then in a year or two when I need them again. Harbor Freight and I go way back. Been buying tools here since before I could drive. Word to the wise, the hand tools are awesome. They'll get you through the tough times (unless you are a contractor, you'll need real tools because you have a real job and people who are relying on you for food, shelter, water, etc. Also when you go to the job site people will judge you for not having expensive tools, then they'll start questioning your contracting abilities. That will lead to less jobs booked and eventually poverty). Hand tools are great! The power tools are subpar, but typically work for 2-3 uses with no problem. I use them as disposable power tools, they are cheap enough you can buy one every time you need it. Also, FANTASTIC return policy for those tools that don't make it through their first job. Go, check it out, buy something interesting. You'll probably find me there trolling the isles for sweet deals. PS. Never trust the price in the isles. It's much like a lottery ticket when you buy something. It's either around the same price as the isle indicated, or like 90% off. Happy Harboring. read more

The air and electrical tools at Harbor Freight are dangerous in my opinion. I had purchased several items: Air Palm Nailers, and Air Staplers and Brad Nailers. One time I was working on a pen for my daughter's rabbits. She was walking by with her friends to go play in the back yard. The top of the staple gun blew off and nailed her in the eye. When I went into the store the only thing the manager cared about was that we wanted our money back. He didn't apologize until I left and my son had to mention that they didn't even apologize to her. The clerk even said, "you get what you pay for." She was ten years old with a red swollen eye. They are lucky I'm not sue happy. I thought this must have been a freak accident. So I had bought a Brad Nailer at the same time as the Stapler. The safety trigger stuck open and nailed through my hand. Again the store manager never apologized. He gave us a horrible time about even replacing it. The replacement did the same thing and shot my daughter again. This time in the side and sunk a brad into her side. We showed the store manager again and same thing. I've had multi-tools burn up on first use through Western Red Cedar (super soft material) before making it through a single piece of siding. Palm Nailers that broke on first use. We / I learned my lesson and we'll never shop there again. Too bad as I do like some of the non-power tools and hardware. I've had to purchase better tools at Home Depot and Lowes. Never had a single problem with their tools so far. The worse thing about it was the attitude and total lack of care for my daughter whom likes to work with me. She told me that if I ever buy another tool from them that she will not be in the same vicinity as where I'm working. Buyer beware!!! read more

I needed to remove the grout around one (fancy) bath tile, using an oscillating tool, so I bought Harbor's grinding, carbide half-moon blade (item #61834). I finally got the grout [mostly] out using this blade, but it was didn't work well. It was OK at first, but the grit then quickly wore off, and was completely worn off way before I finished, so I had to push way harder than normal [dangerous, and frustrating] using just the grit-less blade, just to try to finish the job. I can't believe this blade wore out on just ONE tile--about 45" of total grout. It's their Warrior line, which I've read is "Good"--not "Better" or "Best"--but they didn't have any other blades there on the rack to buy, so I couldn't have upgraded if I'd wanted to. (Unless the diamond blade, in the same line, "Warrior", is considered the upgrade. Maybe I should have spent the extra $4-5 and bought the diamond-tipped blade). Anyway, I'm not happy with how this Harbor F. tool worked out. I wasn't expecting the blade to last a lifetime of use, but at least for more than 45" of tile I did. [It actually only worked well on the first maybe 20"] Their reputation for tools being cheap and of low quality is well-deserved here, as far as I'm concerned. Harbor Freight Orem wants people to die on the highways. I have a HF trailer for with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued recall notices for the weak tires that blow out on the the highway. One of the tires on this trailer already blew out. I took the other tire in to HF Orem to get it replaced under the guidelines of the recall and the manager refused to replace it, saying I didn't have enough proof of purchase. Buying a HF trailer is a recipe for disaster. read more
