I was shopping at Harbor Freight on a Sunday, when I purchased several items, left the store and drove home I realized I had left a tool behind at the store. I returned hoping they had noticed and the cashier had saved it. No luck, the next person in line must have picked up the tool. I figured my mistake that would be the end of the story. The manager on duty, Stacy, overhead me questioning the teller and asked to see my receipt. She took one look at said "follow me". We walked back to the row the tool was on and she grabbed a new one, handed it to me and said here you go have a nice day. No questions asked. I was thrilled. I purchase from Harbor Freight a couple times a year and am always happy with the product and the price. Now I am can say that the customer service is great as well. This store has a large selection of items. They also have super cheap prices - even cheaper than wally world! The items aren't always of the highest quality so don't plan on handing these down to your grandchildren. However, the quality to price ratio is just fine. They also publish coupons (online and in printed) that save you like 20% on 1 item, things marked down to certain prices, and usually a free item per purchase. I'll sometimes go in and buy a $3 tool, use the 20% coupon to make it $2.40 and get a free small flashlight. Great deal! Know that sometimes the line can be a bit long so keep an eye on it if you're about done shopping. :) read more

I'd give a lower rating if possible. Purchased a 14" Chop saw rated as "industrial" hinge broke. Cheap plastic with metal on the wear surface. It happens but the company has no parts for a piece of equipment they sell as industrial. This is a bolt on part - so the saw is now worthless for lack of a $5 hinge. To add insult to injury I went into their store to order the part - to be told I had to call an 800 number which I did to wait 30 min to be told basically - once it leaves the store it's yours. read more

I can always find the tool I need for a great price. I get their mailer and emails and they always have a coupon or deal that draws me in.

The tools here are cheaply made, there are a few odd tools that are hard to find or disposable that you can use instead of your better tools. That's the only reason I shop here. The employees are rude and treat you like meat. I try to avoid shopping here, when I find that there is something I want or need I grab it and get out asap. Not like anyone there is willing to assist anyway. read more

Everything in this store has that stinky Chinese factory smell. A pair of leather work gloves I bought had the seam come apart in the first 45 minutes I used them. The store manager told me they were "cheap" gloves and were meant to be "disposable", so would not exchange the clearly defective product. Much better to pay a few dollars more and buy tools and products at Home Depot or Lowes that last 50 times longer. Other tools bought there have been cheap and break easily.
