With all of the gun violence in America, it's disturbing to stand at the checkout counter and stare at boxes and boxes of ammunition, and children's BB guns teaching a future generation that guns are toys and something that can be played with. While clearly, this is normal for owners and managers of this Ace Hardware store, they clearly have no idea of the Progressive clientele of this uptown area. I grew up hunting and fishing and so I'm no stranger to guns but have come to realize that the world would be a better place with fewer guns and ammunition. I'm very disappointed and will likely make more trips out to Lowe's to avoid supporting this store. read more

Pros are that it is close and convenient. Clean and well organized. Great sales. Cons are that costumer service is hit and miss. I have been told by an employee that he was going to get someone to help me and never came back. Weird. Also am usually greeted with someone walking up and giving me a blank stare. Also last couple of times I have walked out empty handed either because they didn't have the part or they were out of something that was on sale. Oh and that country music is awful. read more

One of the best secrets about Ace is that they sell local honey from Taylor Honey in Santa Clara. I've had a few jars of it and each batch is different. The last batch I had was very dark amber in color. This one is lighter and is from orange blossoms. Can't wait to try it. read more

I went to your store today looking to purchase a Stihl trimmer. When checking out I was told I could not purchase it as the designated Stihl employee was not working. Because he was not there to fill out the warranty information I could not purchase the trimmer. I was told to come back tomorrow. This is ridiculous to say the least. I've visited this location several times and have had uneventful experiences so far; nothing to write home about and nothing to complain about... until today. Went to start up our evaporative cooler for the season only to find that the water line was leaking. Cue expletives. The tech we had just hired to brave the roof and get it going didn't have enough line in his truck to replace. Cue further expletives followed by frantic pleading and an offer to go buy some ASAP. Tech agrees and I head towards Lowe's but decide to call Ace on the way since they're closer and I'm am SO atlas I did! Andrew answered the phone and knew exactly what I needed and was able to confirm pricing and availability and set a spool at the registers. I bust into Ace like a tornado only to be greeted by a ten plus person long line?!? I cringe inside and internal expletives follow. But much to my surprise the queue was cleared in less than two minutes and I was on my way! The real kicker is that the pricing and selection were better than Lowe's! The beauty of small shops is that you get merchandise tailored to your area, and this area has more evaporative coolers than other areas and Ace knows it. Love this ACE, best selection of fasteners in town, beating HD and Lowe's by a million miles

I use to prefer to shop at ACE because of their values and business polices. However, this store has tarnished years of this reputation with in two trips. not only will no longer do business at this store, but due to the lack of actions and oversight from ACE Corp. on the brand partners this will include all other stores. This store has Values, Respect, Integrity or regards to Disabled people and Veterans. I am disabled and need an accommodation that was not unreasonable Deb the paint counter has been a main issue both times. The store manager Bob Hines allows his representatives to disrespect customers as well as continue to allow said rep to instigate issues further. This store and I am not sure about ACE as a whole has discriminatory policies in which most major retailers have been sued for and that police removed. (Not this Store) You are better off spending your money as a VET or Disabled person elsewhere. When I informed Bob Hines that I was disabled he said he did not care not to shop else where and not his store. I have not seen a business with such poor ethical standards or disregard for customers on this level in many years. How these two are still employed by Owner Julie Hurst I have no idea. The store is always out of everything. I have spent the past 6 months getting more and more frustrated every time I go here. They keep a VERY low stock so they may have 1 or 2 of an item but that's it so if you are doing anything at all that requires more than one (bracket, wood, pipe, fitting, you name it) go somewhere else. It is REALLY annoying and a total waist of time. "Small store" is no excuse I am from manhattan and the hardware stores there are 1/4 the size and always have everything in stock in abundance. This ACE is terribly stocked. Also, the prices are near double that of Lowe's or Home Depot. Just save your time and go elsewhere. Also, advise to ACE- fire whoever is in charge of stocking items and hire someone who knows what they are doing. read more

Overall a good store if you're in a pinch. The customer service is lacking at this Ace. They don't really have a big selection of products because they are a smaller store. However it's a good hardware place to go if you're in a hurry and don't need anything very specific. read more

I was in need of some very specific types of screws, and was able to find an associate quickly -- a very nice, very knowledgeable man named Bryan -- who knew exactly how to figure out what I needed and exactly where it was. This hardware store has great customer service. Really it is amazing. While they don't have as good a selection as some bigger hardware stores, i love coming here because they are so helpful. While i was checking out another woman was carrying a bunch of items to the foor, and my cashier ran to the door to open it for her, and then ran back to me. What great service! read more

A good supplement to Home Depot; they have a much better selection of certain things but are generally more expensive. They do some simple services here like cutting glass and repairing screens and storm windows. This is nice, but depending on how busy they are it could be weeks before you get your stuff back. If you need an odd piece of hardware, or a very particular type of screw, nut, bolt, nail etc. I'd definitely suggest coming here first. I was able to find the right size Tee Nut (for use with stem casters) after failures at both Home Depot and Lowes. Service can be good if the store is slow, but they seem to have less people running around so you may have trouble getting someone. read more

Great local hardware store with great service. You go here if you want to have someone who is an expert help you find what you need. In contrast to the bigger box stores where you can't find an employee or you just can't get good advice. Their hours are good. Their selection is extensive considering the size of the store. Everyone there is always friendly and willing to help.Their curbside service and website is easy to use especially during the pandemic. They have free curbside delivery. This Ace Hardware has been a pleasure to work with. I recently needed to get some keys made and my car was being finicky. The key guy ran to my car and made sure that my key fit. Service is beyond slow and none of the employees seem to care in the slightest. Took me half an hour to get someone to unlock a pair of pliers for me. Would have been faster in the end to drive to Lowe's or Home Depot. Service would have been better too, not just faster. Emerson is a particularly unpleasant employee. Who ever would have thought I'd be longing for the great customer service of Home Depot! I thought that with the great selection that Home Depot and Lowes have, Ace Hardware would have to compete in the area of customer service. Not so. These people really don't care. I only needed a little bit if help, but the employees all looked lazy and like they were depressed. They avoid eye contact with the customers so you don't ask them for help. And when you do get their attention, they don't smile, give a brief answer in a depressed voice, then immediately look back at their paperwork to avoid having to help you any more. Great spot for canning supplies, but had the worst experience looking for an adaptor piece for a kitchen faucet I was installing. Ace guy acted like my request would require some special piece and there's no way they'd carry it. Tried Lowe's and not only was the piece cheap with plenty in stock, but the associate gave great advice on some tricks for installation. Ace has good products, but not advice. read more

Maybe it's just me but I get a little overwhelmed at some of the big box stores like Lowe's or Home Depot. I like the location of this particular store. And the service makes the choice of where to go that much easier. The variety of items isn't as good as it is at the larger stores ... but for the most part Ace is going to have what you need. So two months later after hounding the manager on the trim, we were in tremonton for the county fair. WE stopped in that Ace just to see if they had the trim. Low and behold guess who had the stinkin trim!!! I was sooo annoyed especially bc the manager of the BC Ace said he was calling around and no one was able to get it. This store is very nice. It is well-organized and has a fantastic nut and bolt selection. The shovels they sell are better quality than the ones at Home Depot. Unless I need lumber, I will always go here instead of Home Depot or Lowes. read more

I've got to this Ace for years and found them so helpful. Something has changed. I took a broken window screen in to be replaced with a new one. After 5 weeks and no phone call I checked to see if it was ready. Yes. Went in and the screen didn't have pull tabs and was very warped. They tried to tell me that it would pop in place. I indicated no I wanted a straight screen and tabs as written on the original order. One more week and no phone call. Repeat above scenario of calling. Went in and saw that it wasn't done with new parts. It's all scratched so I asked for a discount. I got a good deal on it "as is". Got home and the warping started again. I nearly broke it all over trying to pop it into place. My pull tabs break often because they are so cheap. This was the last time I'm having ACE build or repair anything for me. May have to head over to Holladay instead. read more

They also helped my friend who needed help changing the battery in her key. Even though she did not purchase the battery from there, they were still eager to help her out. 10/10 recommend coming to this Ace. read more
