Wasatch Glass And Hardware

I just worked with this company on a sliding glass door installation for our newly remodeled…read morecultured marble bathroom. As the previous reviewer said these guys are happy to take your money and hard to pin down on an install date. Plus the bonus headache that the install was a complete disaster! They chipped up our beautiful new shower in at least 5 different places and refuse to provide adequate compensation. We have been patiently working with them on this aweful install but $100 is not close to adequate for the damage these two men Alex and Troy made to the shower surround. I would NEVER use this company or these guys to do anything in my home.

I was approached by Alex Wardle on Facebook when I requested a referral for a glass shower door…read moreinstall. He was very responsive up front and helped my wife and I find the right glass door for our shower insert. We couldn't find one to purchase on our own so he offered to purchase one for us and install it for a total price of $850. We felt that was a really good deal. Alex asked for 50% down to purchase the door and we happily handed that over. We were told it would take 10-12 business days for the door to come which we were ok with. I would touch base with Alex periodically to ask if he'd seen the door yet and he would take anywhere from three hours up to eight days to get back to us. This freaked us out a little bit because we had just paid a deposit and I was the one having to reach out requesting updates. After one month prior to sending Alex our deposit, we were told he was heading to the glass manufacturer to pick up the door. He asked me four days later if Troy (still unsure who he is or what he does at Wasatch Glass and Hardware) had reached out to me to schedule an install. He hadn't. Alex had sent Troy the wrong phone number to reach me at. I finally asked for Troy's number and called him. He was pleasant to work with but eventually sent me back to Alex to schedule an install. Alex finally came out two days later with a same-day notice (which was rough for us because they were installing the door in our occupied rental property and I had told him we wanted to give our tenants a 24-hour notice). He didn't give me an approximate time as to when he'd arrive but rather just that he would come that day. He later texted me at 4:00 in the afternoon to tell me he was headed my way and arrived around 5:00 PM. He installed the door in about 30 minutes and the quality seems to be good so far. The funny thing is he turned around immediately after asking for the other half of the payment when I hadn't even seen the door yet (despite having my wife and I wait patiently a little over two weeks longer than he had originally quoted us). I would be hesitant to work with Wasatch Glass and Hardware again until I knew they had better systems in place.

I've visited this location several times and have had uneventful experiences so far; nothing to…read morewrite home about and nothing to complain about... until today. Went to start up our evaporative cooler for the season only to find that the water line was leaking. Cue expletives. The tech we had just hired to brave the roof and get it going didn't have enough line in his truck to replace. Cue further expletives followed by frantic pleading and an offer to go buy some ASAP. Tech agrees and I head towards Lowe's but decide to call Ace on the way since they're closer and I'm am SO atlas I did! Andrew answered the phone and knew exactly what I needed and was able to confirm pricing and availability and set a spool at the registers. I bust into Ace like a tornado only to be greeted by a ten plus person long line?!? I cringe inside and internal expletives follow. But much to my surprise the queue was cleared in less than two minutes and I was on my way! The real kicker is that the pricing and selection were better than Lowe's! The beauty of small shops is that you get merchandise tailored to your area, and this area has more evaporative coolers than other areas and Ace knows it. Thank you SLC Ace and whoever manages your orders and inventory, you went above and beyond and had excellent service to boot!

While clearly, this is normal for owners and managers of this Ace Hardware store, they clearly have no idea of the Progressive clientele of this uptown area. I grew up hunting and fishing and so I'm no stranger to guns but have come to realize that the world would be a better place with fewer guns and ammunition. I'm very disappointed and will likely make more trips out to Lowe's to avoid supporting this store.
