Just wait for it to go on sale. This location in Sandy is typical for all HFs. Large selection, brightly lit, and friendly employees. Pro tip: Use the app to search for products as it tells you which aisle it is located in. I always look at HF for tools and supplies before I look at Walmart or Home Depot/Lowes. Oh, and I always buy their batteries, especially their alkaline batteries. They last just as long as the name brand ones but are SO cheap! And if you are patient and always check their coupons, you can get them for 30% to 50% off of THEIR price! Total bargain! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Worst customer service I've experienced -- the "manager" "Ryan" seriously needs to be retrained or replaced. I tried to return a tool less than 24 hours after buying it. I had the receipt, the tool was in original packaging (yes, opened -- because how else do you find out it works?), and I repacked everything neatly. I was respectful the entire time -- just trying to return something that didn't work for my car. I had bought an impact drill to remove lug nuts, but it wasn't strong enough. Simple as that. I tested it once, realized it wasn't going to cut it, and brought it back in perfect condition. No damage, no wear, no nonsense. It just didn't have the right torque for what I needed. The day before, I specifically asked about the return policy. The guy told me, "90 days with a receipt." Plain and simple. I even said, "I might return it if it doesn't work or if I don't end up needing it." His response? "Just so you know, we don't rent tools." Like... thanks? I never said I was renting it. But okay, passive-aggressive much? Then when I actually come back to return it, he suddenly flips the script and says, "We don't accept open returns," and accuses me of trying to rent it. Wild assumption. Now he's putting words in my mouth and making up motives. And just to make it even more petty, he told his team to deny any future returns from me if I ever come back. Like, what?? That's just bizarre behavior over a standard return request. Instead of handling it professionally, he made it weirdly personal. Over a $160 tool that wasn't even broken. The managers name was Ryan. corporate needs to take a serious look at how this guy treats paying customers. He turned a simple return into some kind of power trip. First time here! My parents have been big fans of this place, but I never really needed tools until now. I'm doing a project and knew what tools I needed before I went. The shelves and stuff were very pristine and organized, it made sense how the store layout was set up. I found what I needed quickly and made note of things I didn't need right then, but maybe for a future project. I only interacted with 1 employee and they were nice, she mentioned that the tools I purchased had a lifetime warranty, and to bring any of them back if there are issues. I think that is cool, I don't know of anywhere else that offers that. I will most likely be back here sometime or another! I am overall impressed and I would recommend anyone looking for tools come check this place out. The prices are lower than other hardware places, or even Walmart for some things. read more

They're decently priced and also have a club member that you can sign up for where you can score even more savings. They always have items in stock , and if not the employees are more than willing to help you find it in a different store or an item comparable to it. And the working lot is nice and wide so if you're braiding your trailer you def have more room to park. read more

I've been a very long-standing patron of this specific location, member of the Inside Track Club, etc. I absolutely adore the staff, their friendliness and helpfulness. I know most of them on a first-name basis and see them more often than I do my friends! You'd think I would be giving the full 5 stars at this point. Well, I will tell you that the ONLY reason for the 2 stars is solely due to the Store Manager (Ryan). This guy is the complete antithesis of the store staff. They recently redesigned the layout of the checkout line (added an entrance to it and the turns like at TSA). Well, it's about 45 feet from the 1st register to some obscure line on the floor where it says to please wait here. Well, there's about 6 checkout stands and he was the only one working a register... down about 45ft from that line. They have items on a rack for people to look at and grab while they're waiting (which I did). He proceeds to tell me, "Sir, could please wait back there on that line?" Here is where I'm confused on a few different levels and where this guy's mentality is at. 1. There are items on display with the prices on that side of the rack (which I purchased 3 random items from it). If it's mandatory to wait way back on that line, doesn't it defeat the purpose of even HAVING items on display? C'mon, pal... this is retail 101. 2. Why are they mandating this incredibly long distance at this point? This is Covid-era stuff. Is it for some "safety" hazard that someone needs to stand 45ft away from another customer? 3. Buddy, we're not 1st graders. We're grown adults that aren't concerned with your new customer preferences on where we're "allowed" to be. Don't tell me where the hell I can or cannot stand. Treat your customers with a little dignity.. there was 1 person in front me and he was with YOU at the register. Up until a few weeks ago when they redesigned this thing, all of us customers would be standing nuts-to-butts waiting for a register to open, so you just so happened to go the opposite direction with how it's been and just expect long-term customers to know your new house rules? He's about the most unfriendly person I've ever encountered at any store. You've heard the term "RBF" with females... well rest assured, Ryan has an "RDF" and looks angry all of the time. Hey man, if you don't want to be here, don't. Customer Service is why most of us come here. Lost the stupid "I'm in charge of everybody - including customers - attitude and know your place. I honestly would LOVE it if Steve was managing this location. He's about 90% of the reason I continue to come to this location, which is farther away for me than the other. Friendliest, kindest and helpful person I've had the pleasure to converse with in many years. I'm not sure if these locations are franchises, but if so, the owner should take a look at who needs to be bumped UP, and who needs to be on their way out. I said thanks I'll see you in a bit. I made this call at 5:45 and arrived at 6:05 to a closed store. I've been patronizing this store ever since it became a HFT (from the former OfficeMax venue), and so far good products, great selection, and excellent service. That and the weekly promotions and 20% off coupons are a great deal. The best purchase I made was their electric pole saw. I took down an entire 50' oak tree with just the pole saw! OK, sure, I went at it branch by branch, and then attacked the trunk in small chunks (and proceeded to nuke a rain gutter as one of the longer branches fell the wrong way), but that little sucker tore into that tree like a hot knife through butter...and kept asking for more. The 62896/63190 pole saw has been excellent, and just required constant chain bar oil reservoir refills and some focused tightening of the chain every job, but it still works great and I'll be back out with it this coming weekend. This store is about 2 miles from the house, and has everything I need...and even stuff that I never thought I needed. Next big purchase is their #63183 Daytona 3-ton floor jack! 4 Stars for product diversity and easy access to unique parts! read more

Harbor Freight is a great place to find off brand tools for a great price. The tools aren't usually top shelf quality but hey, you get what you pay for and even more! I wouldn't expect Snap-On quality tools at this price, but truly there are some hidden gems here that I actually prefer over my name-brand tools! The staff has always been friendly toward me and are so happy to help. There usually isn't someone working the sales floor, but I like to wander around without being bothered anyway haha! If I do need help finding something, the staff is more than happy to point me in the right direction. read more

This is my favorite location of HF by far. It is a newer one and is very clean and organized. The employees are friendly and helpful. Lots of great prices and good selection. Just be aware that some of the lower-priced items are of questionable quality. If you pay a little more you get good products and still at a lower price than many other tool vendors. read more

One of the newest locations in Salt lake and the fort in Sandy. Easy access from both directions and close to the freeway. Lots of parking out front. Staff was friendly and helpful. Couldn't pull up the coupon on my phone and the checker took off the discount anyway. Decent tools with a great warranty. Most tools have at least a year if not lifetime. Just bring it in and walk out with the replacement it's almost that easy. read more

This is an excellent Harbor Freight store with very helpful staff. I've been a HF customer for 10+ years. Just last Friday went to this store cuz the "open box" 13hp engine I bought at a steep discount didn't come with a small "high altitude" kit for the carburetor and it wasn't sold separately st store but through manufacturer. Manager gave me the kit attached to the floor model and didn't charge me and did it with a smile. Good store, good service. read more

I had a really bad experience on Father's day . I went to the Sandy store, which was a big mistake. I usually go to the West Jordan store. I got some things and went to pay. The line was really long with only one cashier ( Renzo. ) . The person in front of me asked, " Can you guys get more help, there's to many people in line " and Renzo yelled NO. I asked where the manager was and the manager was doing something on the other cashier. He was helping no body. He responded " i am the manager " and I asked him if he could help us, there's way to much people. Plus your cashier is too slow. He responded with " I'm too busy. " People where beginning to get really frustrated and they started leaving the store without buying anything. Finally the manager started to help and Renzo, still with the same costumer Renzo was with in the beginning. He was still REALLY SLOW. Then finally it was my turn to pay, Renzo asked for my phone number 4 times yet he keep entering it wrong. He DROPPED the stuff that I bought, on the floor.
