I never walked in Harbor Freight before as the name didn't seem like a good match for me. But someone recommended HF for a small auto part that I needed, and not only did they have it, they also have a lot of items I would typically go to Lowe's or Home Depot for. A bonus was that the customer service was great too. They have an app for sales and discounts. If you're someone that likes to work around the house or yard, I'd recommend stopping in, even if you're not in the market but just scoping out items for the future. read more

I normally enjoy shopping at Harbor Freight Tools, but my recent experience with one of the employees, Maria, was extremely disappointing. From the moment I walked in, she appeared more interested in being on her phone by the register than helping customers. I approached her twice asking for assistance, and both times I was brushed off and told to "check aisle 2" with no effort made to actually help me locate the item. The third time, after clearly needing help, I had to ask for a manager because Maria flat-out refused to assist further. I even showed her the item on the website and kindly asked if she could check the inventory for me, but she wouldn't make the effort. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and physically walked with me to help me find what I needed. That's the level of customer service Harbor Freight is known for -- but sadly, Maria's behavior does not reflect that standard at all. Employees like Maria can seriously harm a business's reputation. Good in a pinch and if you want to acquire a tool that will be for light duty. The store has some interesting and useful tools, which is a plus. It's also clean and well-organized. In my experience, the tools don't last unless they are used for light-duty. Are they useable and useful in a pinch? Absolutely. Do they stack up against Husky, Craftsman, Dewalt, Kobalt, Porter Cable, and Makita? Not a shot. However, this doesn't mean they're not useful. Just don't expect long-term durability. read more

I was in a last minute pinch looking for a tap and dye a specific size. Couldn't find it anywhere. A local hardware store suggested Harbor Freight. Sure enough they had it. Ended up not needing it after all and returned it two days later at this location. Hassle free return with my receipt. Courteous customer service. Ended up buying a tool bag for a really good price. The employees at this location are very nice and helpful. I walked in there and as soon as I did I was greeted with a nice young gentleman who offered me help. I proceeded to go down the aisle and the person that appeared to be a manager guided me where exactly what I was looking for was. This is not my first encounter of hospitality going into this Harbor freight I have been here before and was greeted the same. I bought a quarter of Bondo for $11.99, next day went to Home Depo and the have it for $7.50, therefore I went back to Harbor & Freight to returned, but for a surprise, the item was a final sale; no sign, no advice on the cashier, only small letter in the receipt, so the cashier gave me a lot of attitudes, and told me that no money back, I can't understand how H & F sales something 40% more expensive than everybody and you can't return it; RIP, RIP RIP... isn't about the money, it's about how they get you. read more

I've just recently signed up as a member and probably the worst membership you could possibly join!!!. If only I can give this store a zero I would. Yelp is way more kind enough than I am. I"ve recently bought a shop crane with pneumatic Jack.. within two days!! the pneumatic Jack failed!!!, I"ve explain to the store the issue to, Manager (Garfield), Supervisor (Anthony) and have shown no concern with the attitude that if you don't like their business go shop elsewhere!! Back to the issue: pneumatic jack failed while in a process of installing the engine to my car. The pump stop working half way and to prevent any damage, we've put a stand underneath the engine just enough to support it. We figured that it's already late at night and the store will be close and continue the next morning to get the replacement. The next day, the jack had also decompress to the point where most of the pressure are now on the stand underneath. This piece of junk crack my Transfer Case(connects the engine to the tranny)!!!.. I was willing to take the loss on this since it's shame on me for not researching a good crane out there, but what I can't stand with this store or company is their policy!!! Both Supervisor(Anthony), Manager(Garfield) argued to the point as if the customer is wrong!! they've forgotten that they work in a customer service business!!. They argued that I cannot get a replacement pneumatic jack until I return the broken one!!..After you explain to them the issue with pictures how the jack is still holding the enginge in place and cannot solely put all the pressure to stand underneath due to stability. As other have stated stay away from this store or company!!! you're not actually saving any money since their warranty is crap and only stand by their product for 90 days. There are other tools out there that are safer, durable, quality, and offer limited lifetime that are few penny more.!!. Shame on me for saving a few penny that is now costing me a few hundreds of dollars!!! read more

Great place to buy a tool you need quickly or for one specific job. Quality of items there can be questionable so for heavy duty tools go for the brand names you trust. Store is clean and pretty organized with a variety of tools from wood working to automotive. Associates there are pretty knowledgeable and honest. Only negative would be long wait lines at the checkout counter at certain times. But overall would not hesitate to go back again. read more

this place is terrible, bought a jumpstarter/charger that didnt work right out of the box, plugged it in and the power light didnt even go on. so the thing was defective on delivery. tried to return it 95 days later and the aid they couldnt take it cause it was past 90 days. give me a break, they sell defective equipment and dont stand by their products. i left the piece of junk there cause it was useless to me and they are still gonna get a credit on it anyway. waste of time and money this place is a scam. never again read more

I go here whenever I need a tool to complete a project. It's a newer store, and it's always clean and well stocked. Jessica the cashier is super friendly and knows where everything is located in store down to the shelf it's on. Overall a great place to buy tools with friendly helpful people on staff. read more

I bought box of gloves on Friday which was on sale - when I got home I realized I bough the wrong size. I went back on Tuesday just to exchange the size and they said I need to pay the full price. I told the manager that i just want size L instead of M - and I did not even open the box but he said he can't do anything about it and this is cheap price anyway. I decided to return it because of their service and attitude - why to charge almost double even if the sale was over for just changing the size. Very disappointed because we buy there a lot and I did not expected to have this problem. I am sure that any other store would exchange this with no problem and no extra money. read more

So much easier to run in here than to brave Home Depot or Lowe's to pick up a few things. And they are always well stocked, the store is neat and clean , the customer service is good and those 20% off plus coupons and free gifts are great. A while back we purchased a 4 in 1 car charger that we successfully used once. So when one of our cars needed a jump, we pulled it out only to find it would not charge again. We packed up the charger and headed back to Harbor Freight to see if we could exchange it (had no clue where the original receipt was but remembered it was definitely purchased under a year ago and we still had the original packaging and manuals). The gentleman who helped us said the register could only go back three months for a store purchase or one month for a credit card sale. So we threw in the towel and picked up a new charger. When we got to the register our associate Jessica asked if we would like to purchase an extended warranty. Wait I asked. I think we purchased a warranty with the first charger, could she check via the register? Sure Jessica said, no problem! Sure enough we had purchased a warranty on the first charger and were able to exchange the old broken charger for a new one, for which we again purchased an extended warranty. Through it all, Jessica was pleasant and patient, sweet and thorough and easily walked us through the exchange, new warranty and new purchase. So thank you Jessica for going the extra mile and doing a little research to satisfy a customer. If only all sales assoctes were as dedicated and thorough as you! read more

How is this place getting 4 stars? As a former auto mechanic, (ASE Certified technician and NYS Licensed Inspector), I know a few things about tools and I've always bought Craftsman because you can bring any tool back after any amount of time and they'll give you a new one, no questions asked. Harbor Freight, not so much: they offer just a 90 day warrantee on their tools. Shame on me for not knowing before my purchase. I bought a small floor jack, used it once, then a few months later I discovered a small pool of hydraulic fluid under the jack. Obviously the cylinder is leaking. I called and asked if I can return the jack, the employee informed me of the above policy. So I politely rephrased it: "So Harbor Freight does not stand behind their tools for more than 90 days?" Her reply: "Correct." Can't make it up folks! Awful policy. Awful floor jack. I will not return and neither should you. I should throw it through their front window with a note: "You have 90 days to catch me otherwise your right to justice expires. THAT'S MY POLICY (bitches)!" read more
