It's close and if you're looking for a place that has selection in this neighborhood they definitely have it. But fair warning: the prices aren't the cheapest. I came here trying to get a copy of my unique room key and the guy there was capable of doing it but unfortunately didn't have the needed part. It's not a large store so if you're weird about small spaces or the possibility of people in a small space, you may want to mask up or not go in. The cheapskate Manager of my building didn't care that his non-English speaking "plumber" installed a new bathtub on an un-even, un-level concrete floor which caused the 35 year old original bathtub to corrode and break the drain seal. After suffering with a tub that wouldn't drain properly for decades, I had to halt the construction project and got in touch with Sugar Hill Hardware. Incredibly, after closing time, Marcos DELIVERED to me a quart of Weld-Crete Bonding Agent and enough self-leveling Quick-Crete cement to raise the floor beneath the new tub to LEVEL and all at no extra charge. Now all I have to do is remove the tub, build a wooden frame, brush on the bonding agent, then mix and pour the new concrete atop the old. With a trowel, I'll ensure the surface is perfectly level and when its all dry, the new tub can go back in place without putting a strain on the drain pipe while allowing the water to drain properly. Sugar Hill Hardware had ALL the components in stock and brought them to me after hours. How much better could I have been treated? Don't try to be buying whole projects there because I was just trying to make some shelves and it cost me 60 bucks for just the bare minimum. I could have paid someone to do it for me for that price. Seriously, I was skeptical of a hardware store with such a good review, especially in the area where I just brush off rude service. They are the most helpful people, with a smile, who will help you with a 5 cent screw for 5 minutes, and let you know where to go to get something they don't have. Truly a treasure of a store for a place I go to maybe three-four times a year. Bought a countertop dishwasher, and thought I needed an adapter for the input hose to the unit. I was looking like an idiot in the plumbing section when a guy asked if I needed help. I explained I needed something that I didn't see, and and he explained I actually didn't even need an adapter. I tried to tell him he was wrong, and he pulled out an entire faucet out of the box, took off the aerator, and showed me my adapter didn't need an adapter because there was double threading on my piece. I was so happy to find this friendly store! It's like the Cheers of hardware stores. The staff seem to know everyone walking in the door, and were super eager to help me find what I needed. I was able to buy several things for my new apartment -- tools, hanging hooks, and more -- and was given all the information I needed to navigate the tight quarters. When I was about to buy an unnecessary screwdriver (as the all-in-one I was purchasing was sufficient) the cashier told me I didn't need the extra one, and she was right. Came in and purchased two items great service nothing out of the norm. Came back in the next day and wanted to return the items, the clerk tells me sure it will be store credit... ah dumb look on my face I ask why? He says it's store policy... so I say ok here are the two items and I walked away he stops me and says wait it's a credit you can use anytime. I said it looks like you guys could use the money more than me and walked away. I suggest they should invest in a sign that states the company policy so customers don't get missed led. So I won't be coming back to this place since I wouldn't had spend any money in a place that can't put customer first. read more

I went in to Sugar Hill Hardware looking for a simple part to go on the end of my kitchen sink faucet, after removing an old water filter. Luckily, I was able to take part of the filter to the store to show them exactly what I was looking for. (I still don't know the name of it, but it seems that most places only sell a valve separately. After looking diligently and asking a coworker to help him, the man who assisted me finally found the part. This diligence was especially impressive since they were fairly busy at the time. I am more used to getting answers like "Oh, we don't have it, sorry" when searching for small parts that tend not to be sold separately, so I was happily surprised that they were able to find this part. The man assisting me even asked the woman at the cash register to wrap it so that the pieces would not come apart. (I'm glad, because I likely would not have noticed the small loose filter and rubber washer inside.) And while I have no idea what the part is worth on it's own, I did not mind at all spending 3.26 to keep the faucet from spraying everywhere. The woman also accepted my card with no problem. I would have been happy to buy something extra to meet a minimum but was happier that I didn't have to. Really pleased with the service here and will definitely keep this place in mind for future repairs, etc. Thanks for your help, it works perfectly! read more
