Greeted immediately and were able to get a table overlooking the water. Very pleasant view. I ordered the stuffed shrimp, and my family ordered fried seafood platter which was grouper that day and gulf fish tacos. All the seafood was great. We stumbled upon this place after discovering the eatery we were headed to charged $20 for parking. (Yikes!) THIS place has a private parking lot, so it gets 5 stars for that! But, the food was SO good, too! The spring rolls were flakey and delicious, and my family especially loved the hush puppies and the cucumber salad sides that came with their main courses. I ordered the seafood platter for dinner and did the combo to get fish and shrimp. They gave me only 5 or 6 small shrimp and the fish was the size of a sticky note. I was wondering if they even forgot the fish because it was so small... turns out it was hidden under 3 of the shrimp... The fries were hard and had no flavor, tasted like a stale bag of lays classic potato chips, seriously every fast food place is lightyears above this leather. Also just want to throw this out there, 6 potstickers for $14, let that sink in, just like they sink their teeth into your wallet, all to give you rations. I took the cups. read more

Plus service was spot-on and friendly! During lunch they have a deal of buy one sushi roll and get one 1/2 off so we opted for two rolls which I believe we got the The Big Papi and the Amazon. Sat down, asked about gluten free options (most rolls can be modified) was told they do not advertise as allergy friendly to avoid dealing with it. I lived in Destin back in 1998. Harbor Docks was my favorite place to eat back then and I was delighted to see it was still around over 20 years later on my vacation. Incredibly reasonable prices on fresh caught seafood is the main takeaway. I love the blackened Grouper and homemade sides. Try those gouda grits - you'll never want mashed potatoes again. And that view ! Pretty hard to sit anywhere without a gorgeous view of the docks outside. be warned - Service can be slow - thats just how they roll down here. Get used to it because its everywhere. But the service is very friendly. I plan on coming back before my vacation is over. read more

This is one of the few restaurants that you know uses fresh seafood from the local gulf. They sit right on the dock and you can see the ships coming in with their fresh catches. This also makes for a great venue for eating at, looking over the docks and the bay makes for a beautiful view. The views were great but the food was even better. They let me do the parmadine with the fresh catch of the day, red snapper. This was such a fantastic dish. The fish was firm yet flaky with the natural slightly sweet flavor you expect from red snapper. It was topped with crab meat and parmesan, and that was so incredible. It was a melt in your mouth topping that just made the flavor out of this world. As good as that was, I just have to say that the mashed potatoes were some of the best I ever had. It was so silky smooth and creamy with a perfect amount of seasoning. I raved about it so much the rest of our table asked for a small bowl from the kitchen to taste it as well and they all agreed it was amazing! We also had some sushi. We ordered what we thought might be local and fresh and we really think we got that. It made me realize how much bad sushi I have back in Atlanta because even with the best places there is still a slight fish taste to it. Not even the slightest here. You really got the natural taste of the fish here and it was such a well designed roll that I'd love to return here just to eat sushi. The food was really a 6 stars out of 5! Views were 5 stars. However, the only reason for 4 stars was the service. We really loved our server, but it took slightly over 10 minutes after being seated to be greeted, he would be gone from our table for extended periods (it wasn't too long ever but enough that multiple times we wondered where he was) and a few small things were wrong. Several small things like asking for salad dressing on the side was not done, we were brought the wrong drinks once, and some things were accidentally added to our bill. It all got corrected in the end but it was so many little mistakes. Overall, this was the best restaurant I ate at on my vacation. Review of sushi and fried rice! Just went to lunch here. We ordered for drinks the rum punch and the Paloma. Both were good and strong but the rum punch was not what you would expect. Tasted a little different. We ordered the chicken fried rice, smoked salmon nigiri, spicy tuna roll and rainbow roll. The chicken fried rice was not the rice that you would normally have with fried rice. This was more of a rice pilaf with chicken and fried eggs. It was definitely not fried and there were no Asian seasonings. Not worth the $18. I did like it but only because I like the rice but if you're expecting fried rice, do not order. Then the smoked salmon nigiri. It was AMAZING! Big piece of salmon and was so yummy! The spicy tuna roll was not at all spicy and there's a lot of green onion happening which I like but again if you're wanting a true spicy tuna roll this is not it. More like a tuna and onion roll. Then the rainbow roll. It also was amazing! It had a lot of great flavors happening and if I went back would get that again. We spent $75 for lunch and feel like it was a bit over priced, but then again, what isn't in Destin. Haha! read more

We had a horrible experience here and would not recommend this to anyone looking for a nice meal in Destin. We arrived around 7:50PM and were told it was a 25 minute wait for a table for 6. We only had to wait about 10 minutes and we're seated outside. Our server promptly took our drink orders but they took a while to come out. When the drinks arrived, we ordered 5 rolls, the Nigiri Dinner, a Nigiri side, and a cheeseburger. About an hour into waiting, the manager came out and brought us a Tuna Dip because our food was delayed. We asked for another round of beers and the manager said he would take care of it. A while later, a round of beers and sake refills (which we did not ask for) were brought to the table. The waitress disappeared before we could say anything and we did not see her again until the food arrived. From the time we sat down, it was an hour and twenty minutes until we received our food. Once the food arrived, it was fine but certainly was not worth the very overpriced cost. The Nigiri Dinner was served without the cucumber salad or miso soup - when they salad arrived late, we inquired about the miso soup we were told that it was all gone for the evening...meaning that as all of our food was forgotten so was the soup and it was dumped out for the evening. It honestly seemed like our table didn't exist for most of our visit - even after we got our food the service was sparse. You would think that after a large error that we would have attentive service until our meal was completed and paid for so we could leave seeing as the restaurant closed at 9 and we didn't get our food until 9:20. We received the bill in full ($300 including 18% automatically added gratuity) at the of the meal. I couldn't believe that no discount was offered based on this horrible experience. I went inside and spoke to the manager about this and he said he would "take care of it". The bill returned and $50 was taken off. To say we were shocked was an understatement. I went inside to speak to the manager again as he was speaking to the sushi chef about how our entire order was forgotten and overheard the conversation while I was waiting to get his attention. I complained again that based on our extended wait and poor service that I thought this was unfair. He stated that the "sushi wait was an hour" even though no one mentioned this to us and the hour sushi wait when we arrived at 8PM would have meant being served our food at closing time with a half empty restaurant. The manager said the $50 off was all he could do and I explained to him how embarrassing it is to be a local here, have family in town, take them out for a nice dinner, and be absolutely embarrassed by the experience. We will not be returning nor will we recommend this restaurant to anyone we know. read more

This restaurant came highly recommended for their sushi. We dined for an early dinner on 7/25. The highlight- the view from our table and the delicious blackened hogfish. ordered a side of coleslaw, which was crunchy and good. the bartender makes wonderful drinks also. now for everything that almost made it 1 star for us. I think this place is popular because of it's history, being that it was opened in 1979. But they are trying too hard with the fusion cuisine and it makes no sense. For example, the pickled Asian cucumbers that came with the traditional fish plate. it did not go well with anything on the plate. It was awkward. The pad thai was missing the tamarind tangyness and someone must have spilled salt because it was so salty. Now for the worst part- the ahi poke. After a beach day, we were looking forward to fresh, raw fish. We have had ahi all over the states and even Japan. Why the chef chose to slather this simple poke with an ultra sweet eel/terriyaki tasting sauce is beyond me. We tried to take it off but it was not possible. The photo looks pretty but it was inedible. $26!! My husband said I have to eat it. Sorely disappointed that we let the server, Chelsea know our dissatisfaction but she laughed it off and asked if we wanted dessert. just a let down. Then there's the 3.5% fee they charge if you use a credit card. I mean, who carries hundreds in cash? The ATM machine they had was out of order too. The credit card fee restaurants incur is the cost of doing business. Passing it onto customers is so tacky. We ended up having fish at many different restaurants in the area and letting you know not to waste money here like we did. read more
