First time to Destin and someone recommended we try McGuires Pub which was across the street from our hotel. My husband and I decided to walk across but 45 min wait so we walked around to see what else was around...well there is a McGuires Sushi! We decided to try it. We were walking past the sushi window after eating at Maguire's Irish Pub when one of the employees, Chris Hoffman, stopped us and encouraged us to come back for happy hour. He mentioned they offer four rolls for $6.95 each--hard to pass up as sushi lovers. We decided to give it a try, and we're so glad we did. The sushi was as good as any we've had anywhere, and we would absolutely come back again when visiting Destin and in need of a sushi fix. We placed an order on DoorDash and DoorDash messed it up at no fault of the restaurant. They somehow switched our order to pick up instead of delivery. We live in the next town over and we were unable to pick up the order. We called the restaurant and Chris was so helpful. But I love that the kids could get the kid menu from the original mcguires! That allowed us to eat we're the adults wanted but the kids still eat! I'm saving this location for next time we visit Destin, hands down some of the best sushi I've ever had! I loved the atmosphere inside, it's small but spacious with two sit down bars and ample seating. Our waiter Garcia was incredibly kind and let us in on sushi rolls that weren't on the menu. They were fantastic, really creative rolls, the chefs are amazing and they're pretty big so if it looks pricey just know that you are getting a decent size roll. The dragon punch by the way was also delicious, great drink and you get to keep the mason jar! You can tell all the staff is super friendly and gets along. My husband and I absolutely enjoyed it, this was a great date night sushi restaurant... ah man I can't forget about the dessert!! I forgot what it was called but it was lightly friend banana rolls with two scoops of vanilla ice cream drizzled with ube sauce. Glad we found this gem in Destin and can't wait to come back! :) P.s.
