Starting appetizer

Overall, very disappointing New Year's Eve dinner. We had a 4 course, pre-set menu. The appetizers were good (but very small in quantity). The main entree was atrocious. Ordered the fish since we were at the beach, and it was exceptionally "fishy"... to the point where I couldn't eat it. The Wagyu beef was delicious, but it is definitely an acquired taste. Dessert was an intricate (albeit small) pastry with ganache. As far as the service, very misogynistic and the waiter hardly addressed the female at the table. To be honest, being $125 a person, it was only worth $25 a person. Very disappointed, as the resort itself has high standards.

this restaurant was very cute and beachy, i loved the look of it. the complimentary bread was so good, and it had lots of variety. the actual meal was only alright. it was definitely too expensive for what we recieved. i got the pasta dish (pictured) and it was good, but it wasn't great. it tasted like a cross between nachos and mac and cheese. in my opinion, not worth $40. the sushi was pretty good, i would recommend that! overall, it was expensive and i wasn't too impressed by the food.

TLDR; A bit pricey for what you get. Understaffed restaurant. Decent food but not mind blowing, not worth going out of your way to try. 3.5/5 My reviews never mention the service (my ratings are never affected by service provided, I purely base my ratings on food), but this place is severely understaffed for a high end restaurant. No blame to the wait staff, I see them in the weeds taking care of an astounding amount of tables at once. This should be addressed especially since this has been mentioned by several other reviewers. American Asian fusion, they serve sushi here but give us disposable chopsticks...? Dozen Oysters - very fresh served with mignonette and your other typical oyster accoutrements Crispy Cauliflower - came on top of some white rice, very light fry, a little bland for my taste Pork Belly - smoked in-house according to the waitress. Very flavorful, melt in your mouth. Topped with apple and an Asian slaw, good balance to the fatty pork Seafood Chowder - seafood cooked very well, chowder is poured over the seafood table-side Grouper - a little over, good season but I actually enjoyed the roasted summer vegetables under the grouper instead Sushi was surprisingly decent. The tuna was very fresh and sushi rice was on point. Again, a bit overpriced in my opinion.

Salty seafood pasta

We just returned from a 5-night stay at the Henderson Beach Resort and ate several times at Primrose and Horizons. I didn't take any photos of the breakfasts but I remember that we had avocado toast, breakfast tacos, Belgian waffles, a bacon/egg/hash brown bowl, and the smoked salmon and bagel. The breakfasts were all tasty and reasonably priced considering the resort. I think the waffles and bagel and lox were the best dishes. The cappuccino machine was "broken." Service was excellent with a shout out to Donna. We had one dinner at Primrose and it really wasn't very good. We had had a late lunch so we just had two mains. My wife had the market special that was mahi mahi. It came with broccolini and mashed potatoes. It also came with a napa slaw and some kind of remulade. The mahi was cooked to a good degree of doneness although it was very pale for a grilled item. The mash was fine and veg had been cooked properly. The slaw was bland and wilted quickly on the hot plate. I did not care for the remulade. I had the seafood pasta. It was terrible. The squid ink cavatelli were hard, tasteless lumps. It was in a very salty sauce. The seafood had been cooked well though. The squid was as tender as you can cook it. We hardly ate any of it. To Primrose's credit, they comped the dish. We got dessert in the hotel rooftop bar. We shared the key lime pie. This was not the greatest version I have had. It has a coconut/graham crust and, I think some merengue. The key lime custard was weak tasting. Drinks are very expensive at the Rooftop Bar. Yelp doesn't list Horizons separately. We ate there several times. I remember the pizza that I liked except I thought there was too much cheese and I like cheese. The pink shrimp (cocktail) are expensive but very good with a potent horseradish cocktail sauce. The other items we had were all good. Service was excellent.

Restaurant is nice and clean. Staff is kind. Desserts are pricey and very small. We got the signature butter cake and it was the size of a cupcake. Gnocchi was just okay. Best item was the pork belly, full of flavor and the sushi is fresh.

My husband and I were staying at the all adult Henderson Park Inn (across the street from The Henderson) and didn't have transportation so I made all of our dinner reservations nearby so we could walk. We were SO happy we tried this place on the second night in Destin so we could repeat it during the week!! First of all let me say that Chef Gary Palm is a super nice guy! If you'd like to talk to him he will come to your table and visit. He's very personable and gives his kitchen staff high praise as well. The first night we sat at a table in the dining room. We ordered a combination of sushi and other menu items like the osobucco. Everything was very good but the sushi was amazing!! The sushi chef is highly talented and chef Palm gives him free reign when people order off the menu. The second time we went back we just sat at the sushi bar and told the sushi chef the types of fish we liked as in tuna, spicy peppers, etc and he created the best sushi dishes we've ever eaten! And that is saying a lot; We love sushi and have had it at many incredible places. This guy is so good putting flavors together. And they were beautiful too!! If you're ever in Destin you must GO!! We are returning in October with our whole family and can't wait to take them!!

If you're looking for amazing food, great atmosphere in Destin you need to go here. Chef Tyler and his team are amazing.

Peanut Ponzu Tuna

We sat at the sushi bar, chefs David and Claudio were fantastic and they went over and beyond to make our night special!! The atmosphere, service, and food are top notch! Best sushi in Destin with fresh seafood and ingredients. Highly recommend!

We were staying in Henderson and we did a booking on their prime restaurant i.e. Primrose. We reached primrose on our booking time and we were seated quickly. The ambience and decor of the restaurant is amazing and top class. We were greeted by our server who handed us the menus. From the drinks menu we ordered The H and for food we ordered Crispy Cauliflower and sushi ie shrimp tempura roll. This restaurant is known for their sushis and they offer amazing sushis. The service was quick and in less than 10 minutes we had our food served. We loved our food and the food was delicious and finger licking. One of the best cauliflowers we had. We were speechless. The sushi was also amazing. After our dinner we asked for desert menu and from desert we ordered Flourless Chocolate Cake. The chocolate cake was amazing and it was made from black chocolate. We loved our experience. Although the restaurant is expensive but the experience is amazing.

This is a Must while visiting Destin just for the views alone! Make sure to have a drink at the rooftop bar at sunset or after dinner for the night view! Everything is done so well at Henderson Beach Resort it's a sight to see! As far as the restaurant as a foodie I wasn't way over impressed with the food which is why it received a 4 but it was all done well just not out of this world flavor profiles. The pricing is very reasonable and the menu is super diverse and fun! My husband's osso Buco was the best and executed perfectly. I loved the biscuits and the yellowtail appetizer. I just wouldn't order the ravioli or soup again as they were lacking in flavor but still not bad. I Loved our experience here and will visit every time we are in town!!

The patio is cute, offering 2 picnic tables & chairs circling fire pits/grills. You order inside at the counter and can take the food to-go or eat on the patio. The cashier helped us decide on ordering fried shrimp, fried fish, steamed shrimp, and potatoes/corn. As soon as we got our order and started eating, we knew that we had to order to more because the seafood was delicious and fresh. The steamed ruby red shrimp were the best! The owner was so hospitable -- he offered us smoked tuna dip & crackers, sodas, s'mores, and key lime pie for free (all delicious btw)! The food here is absolutely amazing and the service is top notch.

We looked up nearby places and went to Skippers. It is located in a gas station parking lot and the seating is only outdoor, but please do not let it dissuade you. This place was the most incredible service and restaurant I've been to in a while! The ambiance is quite nice with the string lights and all of the fires that are there. We were planning on taking everything to go and eating at home, but opted to stay and glad we did. We walked in and were a bit overwhelmed, but the service was so incredible and helped us through our order. We got fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, fried fish and corn and potatoes. As we were waiting for our food, Chet (the owner I presume) came out and greeted us and was so welcoming! We talked for a bit and he returned with some smoked fish dip which was so tasty we finished the container in minutes. They brought out our food and it was so good we went back and ordered a bit more and stayed there to eat it. The shrimp and fish were so fresh and there was plenty of corn and potatoes from our order. After we finished, Chet came out and handed us some key lime pie. I don't typically like key lime pie, but it wasn't too tart like most I had and was so enjoyable I would highly recommend trying it. All in all, this place was my must try / would return to restaurant beating anything else I tried in the area by far. This is a must stop and I'm so glad I came here!

We sat outside, enjoyed the live music, and the atmosphere was perfect for a group celebration. Service was quick and attentive, especially considering how busy they were. Food wise, the pimento cheese dip was unfortunately not a hit for our group. It had a very thick, almost paste like consistency and was difficult to spread. I also ordered the corn and crab bisque, and personally was not a fan of the sweeter flavor. For my meal, I ordered the summer salad and absolutely loved it. I finished every bite. Our server also highly recommended the first three fish options on the menu, and everyone who ordered fish completely cleaned their plates. Portion sizes were very generous. The only issue we had was the bride's steak being overcooked, but the manager personally came over, addressed it, and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, great atmosphere, live music, generous portions, and solid service. A fun spot for groups and celebrations!
