I don't usually do this but the overall experience was just not good. The seafood we had was ok but they only had 3 sides.... Mashed potatoes, cheese grits that weren't cheesy, and french fries. No vegetables were offered. If you like a good drink, this is not your kind of place. read more

Terribly expensive, small portion. Chairs are not comfortable. This is suppose to be a seafood restaurant mostly for tourists but the people have work there have no uniforms, and are very unprofessional. Appetizer I had uptown shrimp taste was ok wouldn't order again, the salad very plain only lettuce,dinner i had cobra with a creamy sauce and popcorn shrimp along with broccoli delicious a little $$ although I would come back they catch there own fish and sell to other fish market I think you will enjoy the service was great read more

We had a fantastic meal tonight! Started with Tuna Dip, followed by Chef's Platter for my husband, sautéed Grouper for myself, and 3 Sushi Rolls that our teenagers shared. Finished our meal with yummy Key Lime Pie. The service was GREAT- our waitress was attentive and funny. We were told when we arrived that the wait would be 90 minutes, but we only waited about 30. The parking was tricky, but the valet attendant let us know about an overflow lot across the street that was easy to get to and worked out well. We will eat here again for sure! read more

Had to wait about 7 mins to be greeted after being sat... But it was well worth the wait. Our server was wonderful, and the food was outstanding! We Highly suggest you try the peppered yellowfin tuna... And substitute green beans and artichokes for the rice. Great food! From Sushi to Ribeye everything was delicious. We also sat outside in the evening and the breeze felt great coming from the water. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that they only have one type of salad dressing so I wasn't able to order a salad. read more

The food was good but the selection on breakfast menu is very lacking. We expected seafood type options but instead had about 6 total options ONLY without any seafood. The drinks were sub par. This place was awful. I only put 1 star because it made me. We ordered a ribeye and a sword fish. The sword fish was old and rotten and the steak wasn't even a steak, it came out with gravy on top of it and we sent it back they washed it off and gave it back to us. We could still taste the gravy. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went recently, and they have REALLY upped their game. The outdated sides I complained about in my last review have been replaced and it seems the menu has had a nice revamp. We thoroughly enjoyed our last visit and enjoyed the new menu items, and - as always - the sushi. Having eaten "Western" sushi in many other cities, countries and even other restaurants in Destin, I can definitively say that Harbor Docks makes some of the best sushi I've ever tasted. Only rivaled by Dosirak House in Fort Walton Beach. (I hope one day to get to Japan and have my mind blown, but until then....) read more

I don't get it. All these 5 star reviews? Yuck. Let me start with my friendly, tactful greeting from the valet attendant. "Hi, Valet is complimentary, we work for tips only". Ok, the giant signs that say "complimentary valet" weren't enough. I don't need anyone to tell me to tip. Do I look stupid or cheap? I was looking forward to sitting on the water, enjoying a nice cold beer and great seafood. The beer selection is really outdated and generic. I almost left because I really wanted the beer, lol. I stuck it out, because the reviews were so great. I ordered the chef's platter blackened mahi mahi, a crab cake, 2 stuffed shrimp, and chow chow. It comes with the salad. The dressing is described as a vinaigrette, but it is just ordinary italian dressing. The mahi was good, the chow chow was bland. The crabcake was horrible. I had one bite, but it had such a weird, rancid taste. The stuffed shrimp had the same weird stuffing but were also extremely salty!!! This is NOT good food. I barely ate a thing. BOOO. Oh, on my way out there is another tactful sign at valet stating that tips are appreciated. Do people not understand the concept of tipping in the panhandle or what? Weird! read more

We stopped in for lunch, there was no waiting for a seat and we sat by the windows overlooking the water, all that was nice. I ordered sweet tea, no good, come on your in the south how do you mess up sweet tea? My wife ordered the crab cake plate, it came with 2 crab cakes, loaded with filler and undercooked. I got the fried seafood platter, and fried it was, with more batter that was over cooked than seafood. Overall not a good dining experience. read more

Today made the fifth visit for breakfast in the last two months and each time they have brought an incorrect order. The lack of attention to detail detracts from the good food and scenic views. It'll be awhile before we return. We long for the Silver Sands Breakfast experience which once provided the breakfast at this same location. Went to Harbor Docks looking for good Gulf seafood one evening with a party of 12. The food was just ok and the service was adequate. Our bill was close to $500 for the 12 of us, and was in no way worth it. The salad was small and tasted like it had Kraft Italian dressing with a few mandarin oranges and almond slices (not good). The seafood was nothing special and the steak was so-so. We will not be back. read more

I have never had a bad meal here. Breakfast is good and reasonably priced. My favorite sushi in this area by far! If you go for brunch on the weekend there also have a make your own bloody mary. read more

The food here is excellent. It's a little pricey to some, but it's really the average price of any good seafood restaurant in destin. The place is filthy. Had we seen the restrooms before dinner we would have walked out. I have seen dirty roadside gas stations with cleaner restrooms. it was shocking. the shrimp and the grouper tasted like it had been frozen. The house salad was 4 canned mandarin oranges with bottled Italian dressing. a couple of almond slivers too. This was basically the highlight of the meal. I can't understand why someone would enjoy this food. maybe it has changed. oh, the staff was a group of teens hovering around the front desk. This place would never survive Atlanta diners. went up the street to McGuires to try to have dinner after paying for dinner at Harbordocks. McGuires was good. read more

No stars!!! Horrible server takes our order for drinks and food.. returns with drinks and nothing else, after a 30 min wait I ask to speak with a manager. She goes to the table next to ours. They arrived after us, placed their order, consumed their food and recieved their check! I had to summon her to our table to inform her of my concern. She tells me she will look into, however goes to the bar and starts bartending. No follow up response, no service!! Horrible experience will not return, very unprofessional!! Very impressed with this American-style fish & sushi restaurant on the water. I love that from the outside the restaurant looks very unassuming like a hole in the wall shack (which adds to the mystique). But once inside, it has a very classy but yet also very homey feel with its wood decor. And indoor seating overlooking the water adds much to this ambience as well. The food tasted high-quality & was delicious: the crispy tuna sushi hand roll, the blackened grouper & the blackened red snapper - both deliciously juicy & tender & milky. The signature cocktail menu could use a boost, but at least they have a full bar. read more

We came for lunch during the week. They had a specials menu out front, however, when we tried to order a couple specials, we were told they were out of them. They should have updated the menu sign (which was chalkboard). The water tasted salty. I got a fried seafood plate and the taste of everything was average. Nothing stood out to me that made me want to come back. I've heard their sushi is good and would be willing to try it at some point. read more

This was our first visit at Harbor Docks. Parking is valet parking. Asked to see a menu and was given a lunch menu to view. Prices were considerably different then the dinner menu. Our server wasn't overly attentive, but was nice enough. We received bread and butter while we waited for our entrees. It was delicious. The salads were served with a vinegar dressing, almonds, and mandarin oranges. I ordered the blackened grouper with cheese grits. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size. It was wonderful. The waitress did offer to upsize a chicken kid's meal for one of our teenagers who has a shellfish allergy. My son had the grilled red snapper with ginger rice. He ate every bite. My whole party enjoyed their meal. Food is pricey, but it was good! read more

Had a great meal here last night (a saturday in the summer) with u no wait as a group of 7 adults and 2 kids. To start off we had the tuna dip, the calamari, and the shrimp appetizers. Each was fresh and anything fried was done so perfectly. I ordered the special .The special was broiled wahoo with orzo. The fish was fresh and not oversized or overcooked. The orzo was soft and just cheesy enough. I sampled some of my fellow diners sushi which was superb. The seared tuna was also fresh off the boat. read more

Lunch there yesterday, ordered stir fry with shrimp. It was mostly Cabbage, some pineapple, carrot slices, bit of broccoli, 4 shrimp and a bit of rice, ALL FLOATING IN A BOWL OF SOME JUICE, THOUGHT IT WAS CABBAGE SOUP. family ordered fish of some sort, hush puppies border on black. Fish was supper thin, dry. Sat on deck, place need a through pressure washing, dirty inside and out. Very very expensive. We eat here every day at lunch when vacationing in Destin. The grouper, shrimp pad Thai, red snapper, spring rolls, swordfish, and essentially everything else is delicious. The fish is very very fresh. You can watch the fishermen bring in fish off of their boats. It's my favorite place to eat. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. Ask for the corn muffins! They only bring it out on request. I've never eaten there at dinner, but lunch is great. read more
