Apparently toppings on a pizza are a suggestion. Ordered double pepperoni and got ham & pineapple. Wasn't worth what we paid.

Well, they simply just threw cheese on top lol. The manager was accommodating and very apologetic. Second time around. So darn good! I didn't even ask for extra pepperoni, but I added mushrooms. Nice size for the price and fresh!

A little tricky to get to since the intersection of Franklin and Northwestern Hwy with its confusing Michigan left turns. But you awarded with a large parking lot and larger dining room with patio seating than the other 2 locations I have been to. Not a large menu with a few variations of traditional pasta, Italian dishes and pizza. Since I had have their pizza, I just decided on a pasta with a meatless sauce. Others seem to have their own favorites. Since Mensa people can be "interesting like Sheldon on the Big Bang", the wait staff seems use to this and was there when needed and stayed a distance for sanity's sake. My pasta wasn't bad but only got to enjoy it fresh since a storm blew in that knock power out for days, so there went my leftovers. It was bad, but not one I would ordered again. I will stick with pizza. The berry sorbet was excellent. Do know if I would be back unless it was to eat with the group again.

If you're going to try Detroit-style pizza for the first time, you might as well go to where it all…read morebegan! This was my first time having Detroit-style pizza in Detroit, and Buddy's absolutely lived up to the hype. Without question, it's the best Detroit-style pizza I've ever had. Every bite was like an explosion of cheesy, crispy, comforting goodness. The crust was perfectly soft and airy on the inside with those incredible caramelized cheese edges that gave every bite an amazing crunch. Just a heads-up, this isn't fast food. Since it's a thick pan pizza made fresh, expect to wait a little longer, but it's 100% worth every minute. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant, which made the experience even better. I also had my first Michigan Mule, and it did not disappoint! From the outside, it wasn't immediately obvious where to enter, but once inside, I was blown away. The walls are packed with decades of memorabilia, articles, awards, murals, and the story of how Detroit-style pizza was born. It felt like eating in a piece of pizza history, not just another restaurant. As someone who has eaten Detroit-style pizza back home, I can already tell every future slice will be measured against Buddy's, and that's a tough standard to beat. If you want authentic Detroit-style pizza from the place that started it all, this is a must-visit. Thank you, Buddy's, for an unforgettable meal. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Detroit!
