This place was super busy on a Saturday around noon but the wait didn't take long and service was quick. Our food was excellent. The restaurant is cute and big. Loved the pancakes!

We came in on a Sunday morning around 10:30 AM and it was very very busy, with a line out the door. We were totally happy to wait so we stayed in the line and it moved quickly! The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and the service was so fast even though it was so busy! We tried the Dutch baby treat and they sent out two, because they felt as though one of them may have been a bit burnt. I thought that was so nice of them! Especially considering that we didn't think it was too burnt by any means- they were both DELICIOUS! 10/10. I forgot to take pics but we also each got a Belgian waffle. He also got home fries, bacon and sausage which were all really good. It was also decorated with fun Halloween decor for the season! We will absolutely be back and it was worth every single minute of the wait.

I'm not sure why I've never reviewed The Original Pancake House. I consider this one of my top choices for breakfast in the Metro Detroit area, and we hit this place often. Everything on the menu is delicious, but the buckwheat pancakes, the Dutch Baby Treats, and the potato pancakes are my favorites. In the fall, their pumpkin pancakes are to die for. The bacon is excellent as is their turkey sausage. They offer fresh-squeezed orange juice, and it is SO good. The place prides itself on using fresh, high quality ingredients, and I'm sure this is why the food is delicious, and the place is a favorite breakfast spot for many.

Breakfast and brunch, since being the first meal of the day, shouldn't disappoint. You won't be disappointed dining at the Original Pancake House. Dining here for many years, the restaurant has been consistent since I remember going there as a young lady. The sausage and bacon remind me of "country bacon/sausage". They have a deep porkie flavor. I love the fluffy omelets, from the ham & cheese to the spinach and mushroom, they are always great. The pancakes, in my opinion are superior to any others in the area. Plan ahead to wait in line, because it's always been a popular spot. If you go right before closing, you may have a little wiggle room and a quiet meal.

The Original Pancake House STILL has 'Breakfast worth the wait!' This presidential Election Day had patrons lined up out the door to be seated for breakfast this afternoon. However, the wait was not long. Mostly every seat was occupied with the exception of one closed section that was due to being short staffed. FYI: They are hiring for ALL positions. Many of the diners strolled to the polls to cast their votes and then strolled over to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. They serve breakfast daily from 7am - 4pm. It was wonderful to see so many patrons that were wearing 'I voted stickers' and political gear even down to some of the children diners. The food was great! I had the Corned Beef Omelette for the first time, which is a baked with three farm fresh, extra large, white, grade AA eggs and your choice of cheese. This was served with three buttermilk pancakes topped with 93 score butter that they use exclusively. I will admit I'm not real familiar with butter scoring but I know the entire meal was delicious! I love the full calorie disclosure. This meal was 1,080 calories. My cousin had a Belgian waffle with cheese eggs, sausage and their fresh squeezed orange juice. They get two thumbs up from him! Thank you Lina for your attentive service despite a full house! There is country decor throughout the restaurant. They also have pancake & waffle mix, coffee and syrup for purchase. Please know they have plenty of parking surrounding the restaurant. There are two other locations. One is in Grosse Pointe and the first location still in Birmingham.

My friends and I decided to play hooky from work and start our day here. The ambiance has been the same since I was a kid nothing changed. Our waitress had a little attitude when we was asking for more napkins. But the food was amazing as usual! Blueberry pancakes are my favorite and the bacon is always a perfect crispy.

There was a time in my life when my childhood friends and I would take trips to get breakfast on random Saturday mornings. Funny enough we would drive to places that were 15-20 minutes out simply because we didn't find the closer options to be attractive to us. One of the restaurants we frequented was this OPH in Southfield. I always found the decor to be quite inviting, making me feel like I was visiting a country lodge on a vacation somewhere. This place is always busy, with lines out the door being a common site. Thankfully there is plenty of seating space, so it didn't take forever to eventually get a table. I have never had anything from the menu I didn't like, and if you're someone like me who avoids pork they have turkey sausage as a substitute. I will admit that my experiences over the years haven't always been consistent, but on this particular day all the stars aligned. My good friend and I came here right before it got busy, we had a very attentive waitress, our food was perfectly cooked and delicious (the pancakes and home made syrup are out of this world) and the coffee really hit the spot. They have 2 other locations in Birmingham and Gross Pointe Woods, neither of which are close to where I live. That's okay, because driving here on those rare occasions when I can actually make it out adds a little something special to the experience. I'm glad to see this restaurant has not declined or dipped in quality over the years. Definitely a top 5 breakfast restaurant in Metro Detroit.

Really there is no need to leave a review about The Original Pancake House or OHOP as we like to call it. It's a staple. If you eat at IHOP I'm judging you, sorry. I'm not a pancake person, but this is the only spot I eat pancakes. Best Hot Chocolate out, I'm not arguing with you. You know what you getting when you go to OHOP.

This place is an oldie but goodie. Quick service. Good food. Even when it's crowded, it never seems really loud. I love the apple waffles! Their bacon is thee best! My eggs over medium were perfect. The coffee is average.

My first visit to this location in ~40 years. Yelp considers 3-stars to be Okay. Ergo, this is only a 2-star review. Noisy. No soft surfaces. No sound traps. Difficult to hold a conversation at our table of six. At 8AM, it was noticeably humid inside. By 9AM, it was approaching "turn On the AC" level. By 9:30; it was indeed time to leave. Did I mention it is noisy? All six breakfasts arrived simultaneously - yay! I ordered corned beef hash. It includes two eggs and three buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were very good, the butter was soft and the syrup did not have artificial sweeteners (that have an aftertaste). Did I mention it is noisy? The two eggs were scrambled-hard, precisely as ordered ... but the corned beef hash came from a can. Boo! Hiss! Did I mention it is noisy? Service was excellent. IIRC; her name starts with "M." Will I return? No.

Very well kept / maintained. Server was very friendly and attentive. Other staff members were on-point when refilling our drinks and removing empty dishes from the table. Crab Cake Benedict - premium house made crab cakes with soft poached eggs over toasted English Muffin, topped with hollandaise $14.75. Both meals were good as far as flavor and quality. Only downside - the food wasn't very warm for as quickly as we received our food. As mentioned earlier in the review, this restaurant was on the smaller side and once it filled up with patrons, the noise level also increased.

After seeing Blvd all over social media, I finally decided to check it out for myself. Their…read moreoverall theme is "Brunch, Lunch Vibes & Dinner," and the place seems to lean into being an all-day social hub. They host sports watch parties, karaoke, game nights, live music, DJs--basically something for every grown-folk crowd depending on the night. A friend and I stopped in on a Thursday after work for drinks and a quick meal, and there were quite a few things I appreciated about the visit. The first thing I noticed was the expanded space. They've taken over two storefronts in the strip mall and opened up the dividing wall, creating a much larger restaurant. There's ample seating, a private room, and enough room for larger events to happen without interrupting the regular dining flow. It's clearly set up to handle a lively crowd. The evening menu offers a good variety of options, along with a couple of clever specials. There's Vibe Hour from 4-7 pm with $7 happy hour items, and a Twilight Hour after 9 pm with $12 specials. I thought that was a smart, customer-friendly way to keep the energy going throughout the evening. Another interesting feature is their "drink exchange" menu, where prices fluctuate like a stock market. When the "market" drops, drinks are cheaper--and when it rises, the price goes up. I'm not sure what drives the fluctuation, but it's definitely a fun concept. For food, I ordered the chicken cobb salad and fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were solid, and the salad was actually delicious. They had run out of their regular lettuce and substituted spring mix--and honestly, that upgrade worked. From now on, I might start ordering my cobb salads that way on purpose. We also had Peach Bliss martinis from the happy hour menu, and they were very tasty. During the visit, we chatted with one of the owners, who was very personable, accommodating, and clearly focused on making sure guests had a good experience. He even showed us the additional space and mentioned that it's available for private event rentals. The bartender and waitstaff were friendly and attentive as well. Overall, I can easily see this being a regular after-work happy hour spot. It's close to my home, the prices were great, and the vibe felt easygoing. I'm definitely planning to go back--especially to check out brunch and their Twilight menu margarita madness. Parking is available in the shared strip mall lot, and the location is easy to find right on Northwestern Highway in Southfield.
