I made an appointment for Wednesday with Joe on Tuesday confirming the price of a pedicure at $26.00 and manicure $14.00. When I walked in, I was greeted by a very unfriendly young woman who told me I didn't have an appointment. I told her I scheduled with Joe the day before, but Johnny said he would take me. He did a very nice job, but kept asking me if I wanted the additional treatment for another $10.00. I kept telling him no (even though it should have been included in the $26.00 pedicure as at my salon). Finallly, he said "I'm going to treat you to the additional service and not charge you." When he wrote up the bill, he included the $10.00. I tried to explain that I didn't want it and that he said it was free, but he acted like he didn't understand me. I usually pay under $50.00 for a pedicure and Shelac manicure. Today it cost me $75.00. I won't be returning. I will never go to this place again. My mom and I went there today for a mani and pedi. The staff totally disrespected her and made fun of her when she asked them not to massage her legs and feet a certain way. As for me, my nail polish job was so rushed! The tech painted 2 coats onto my finger nails without letting the first coat dry and I was left with a smudgy mess! Normally, I would have asked the tech to redo the nails that were messed-up, but I couldn't wait to get out of there so I went home and re-did my finger nails myself. Ugh, what a waste of $45! Awful service!!!! Gave my 14 year old daughter an eyebrow wax, it was not even . The worst part is they refused to fix it. My daughter left in tears, I paid them and even tipped the lady. But when I explained that it was dark in the salon and my daughter noticed after I was already at the cash register, they would not do anything to rectify the situation. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Had a full set out on 2 days later they looked horrible!! Cuticles were so torn up from them cutting and filing them my hands actually hurt. Went back to have them filled after only one week because they looked so bad and was treated horrible. I went here just to get my acrylic nails removed because I thought they could use a breather, and the nail tech literally RIPPED them off. In a professional nail salon, they're supposed to use acetone to soak your nails and dissolve the acrylic. It hurt so bad, and now there's so much damage on my nails. Ideally I would like to give this salon 0 stars, but I'll settle with 1. I've been getting acrylic nails and pedicures at various salons since I was 12 years old, and I have to say this was one of the worst experiences I've had. I went in for a pedicure and fill, and was not satisfied with either. During my pedicure, the skin under my big toe was cut which I did not request nor have I ever had done in the past. My toe has since become red, swollen, and painful. I am not sure what the reasoning was behind doing this, but I find it completely rude to do so without even asking with the customer. When moving on to my fill, I found things got even worse where I received my WORST service to date. I came in with a picture of a design that I wanted and asked the technician if they could do that. He assured me that he could do that no problem, so we proceeded with the fill. I think after beginning, he realized he was unable to do the design and rather than admit this-he proceeded to glob layers and layers of 3 different colored polishes on with the skill of a kindergartener. After telling the tech that things did not look even close to what they should, he continued globbing even more polish on my nails telling me "I'm going to do something different." After taking pictures to prove how hideous things were, the reaction I got from people -"Why did you paint you nails like that? You did an awful job." I immediately went home and removed the awful gel polish and went to another salon the next day to get something quality of my money. Overall, I was completely overcharged for a laughable service and had my toe injured in the process. I'm very picky and always tell what I want. I was going to get a manicure, but with so many broken nails, decided at the last minute to get gel nails. Not even deserving of one star! This place is dirty . 27 dollars for a 15 minute pedicure is ridiculous. They do NOT sanitize the tubs properly which I didn't realize until I saw what they didn't do. I am praying I don't get a fungus on my feet. They try to push you to a more expensive pedicure . There needs to be a better regulation for these Asian nail shops. It was awful! read more

I was sitting down for a pedicure, when all of a sudden, a fight broke out between two of the employees, one of which was doing my pedicure. None were speaking English, so me and a few other customers just sat there in silence. My lady jumps up and leaves to go and argue with the other woman. It was crazy and extremely unprofessional! I should of know better, but I had her wax my eyebrows after this whole thing went down. Bad idea. She messed them up. Probably because she rushed through them and stripped them off. Nothing special. Don't bother. They talk about you right in front of you. Lied about how 'good' shellac manicures are for your nails, talked me into it then did an awful job worthy of a manicuring student. My pedicure took a whopping 15 minutes. They only worry about who gets the next customer. Bad deal. read more

Meh... I got a pedicure and did upgrade to the deluxe. I did like that they did not just buff the thin layer of skin off my nail. They used the better method of applying a emulsifier then scraped that layer off. This results in your polish staying on longer, and should always be removed as part of a pedi or mani, but most places half do it by using a buffer to sand the layer off. That method can be uneven and give mixed results. The heels were given VERY little attention and I did not get that "ooh my feet are so soft and smooth" feeling I have left with at other places. The deluxe gave me a three step salt rub, cream massage to mylegs and feet. It felt good, but not $10 more good. The shop was clean and in nice shape, but staff that was not busy sat next to the woman working on me and 1 ate her lunch. Eew! When I left they let me wear the foam flip flop home to make sure my nails would not mess up. That was a plus. My toes look good but I don't have that great feeling when I touch my feet after. I have never had a bad experience here & have been going to Happy Nails for over 4 years. The techs are friendly & care very much about their customer's happiness with their work. They will fix any issue u may have if u just go back and ask them. The shop is clean - they are constantly updating their equipment. I am surprised to see so few positive reviews for them because every time I go I see many of the same customers coming back. Human nature I guess - easier to complain than to praise. I have heard so many great reviews about Happy Nails but when I tried it for myself I was very disappointed. The woman who did my nails kept leaving me to go help others and were laughing at certain customers' appearances. I left with clear shellac top coat all around my nails and underneath my actual nails. Lastly, as I am further looking at my finished nails, I am noticing a black hair, the length of my nail, in the shellac. Will never return to happy nails. read more

I got a manicure and pedicure and am now dealing with an infected fingernail and toenail from the services I received. My technician cut my finger and seemed unconcerned that it was bleeding. My daughter and I tried Happy Nails in Brighton, MI for a basic manicure and this place made us anything but "happy". My daughter selected a standard nailpolish and the tech said she couldn't have that color because her nails were too short. Too short?! Not only does my daughter have long, curved nails but since when does length determine what color you can select? My daughter insisted this color is what she wanted and he refused to do it! As my daughter and I sat in awe of his rudeness, my attention was quickly diverted to my nail tech who started up her rotary file intending to file the surface of my natural nail! I had nothing on them, they were bare! When I asked her to use a yellow (fine) buffing block instead, she grumbled in her native language, pulled a coarse black block out of her drawer and proceeded to buff my nails ignoring my request. When we went to the sink to wash our hands, the entire area was crusted with filth around the fixtures, along the backsplash, and around the trash. Not only is this place incredibly rude and filthy, but I've had to clip my long nails down to nothing because they are peeling and breaking from the hack job they received at "Happy Nails". i usually don't have a problem with the workers at happy nails but today i was not happy. the lady i had was very rude. (she sits in the chair in the front on the right side, every time i've had her to do my nails i am not happy.) she sat me down in my chair and ripped my hand towards her and began working on my nails. she started with the first nail and walked away for 5 minutes for who knows what, the she came back and worked on two more nails. she then got up again and started talking to her coworkers; then she GOT UP AGAIN and started walking around to all the people getting pedicures to see how they looked. she came back and started again and i told her i liked the length of my nails and to not cut them short, she said "okay so don't cut them at all" and i said yes. right after that she cut my nails short. i've been trying to grow my nails out for awhile and it mad me angry that she filed them right off. she then pained my nails and there was paint all over my cuticles. i feel bad for complaining but that's my honest review! read more

Customer service is not a priority for this salon. I have been here a few times and every time I am less than pleased. I went in to get a gel manicure, hardened by curing under an ultraviolet, I did not want just gel polish. The nail tech brought out just acrylic and I had to remind her that I wanted gel nails, she then proceeded to pull out a small container of powder that had "GEL" written with sharpie on the top (very obvious acrylic powder). Gel nails are a three step process with curing in between, at no point did i put my nails under a light. I paid $50, for acrylic nails. This salon is false advertising. With that being said, it also looked like my nails were done a week ago, i needed a fill and i hadn't even walked out of the front door. I went back the following morning, I told them why I was upset and that i paid for something i did not get. I also asked if i could get them filled. So, it has been established that i have acrylic nails, the man did not fill the nails with acrylic, he "filled" them with gel polish, and they still look like they have been growing out for at least a week. He then tried to charge me for fixing the problem that his salon created, he wanted to charge me another $20 for the fill and color change. My sister had purchased a gift certificate for this place and I had the misfortune of using it last nite..I got the deluxe pedicure, which felt ok, however, I did not get the good feeling I normally do with my regular pedicures...very soft, nice feeling feet! The whole time the girl was doing the pedicure she was talking to her friend in a different language, come to think of it, they were all doing that , all nite...how very unprofessional and rude that is....she started painting away, with a color that I did not even choose, when I tried to say something about it, she did not even understand what I was talking about, just continued talking to her friend in a different language...i got a shellac on my fingernails, we will see how that pans out...the very WORST, manicure, I have ever received..no lotions, no hand massages, nothing...I felt she was just in a hurry to get done and get her tip, well, the joke was on her, I did not leave a tip...my only tip would be, if you are thinking of going here, go somewhere else, ANYWHERE else, but here !!! read more
