    Dope manicure by Angela 1/28/2021

I love TNC Nails. I wish I lived closer so I could frequent them. Connie did my wedding gel manicure & pedicure back in October 2019, and I was so happy with her attention to detail and the job she did. Today I took my Aunt for manicures while visiting, and Connie did a beautiful job on her manicure (not pictured). Today I had the pleasure of meeting Angela for my dip manicure. Angela is amazing - her technique is pristine, and she cares about getting it right. She did such a as lovely job. This salon is so clean too, and great hard plastic dividers up on the manicure stations. All employees wore their masks. I highly recommend Connie and her team at TNC Nails. Great people.

The vibe was nice and there was one really nice male worker who was welcoming and helpful. It was my first time going here after sticking to the same nail salon for a while so I was a bit nervous. The girl doing my nails dipped my nail in powder like 20 times and it looked like polish mountain and my nail beds looked 2x the size and very uneven. They ended up having to take them off and the girl seemed really angry and all 3 workers were hovering over me talking which gave me a lot of anxiety. While I was getting my pedicure, they had me soak both of my hands in acetone to take the nails off while getting my toes done so it was impossible to relax. After the nails came off, I assumed they would have me wash off my hands because they were cracking and peeling from being in alcohol for so long but they continued to do my nails while they were cracking and at that point I was just a waiting to leave. I give them 3 stars because I was happier with the final result and the pedicure would have been relaxing if it wasn't for the acetone extravaganza, and the guy was so sweet to me and seemed to feel empathetic since the girl was being a bit snappy. I would also like to add that my natural nails are destroyed and I was in pain a lot (my nail beds felt like they were on fire lol) so there's that. For a basic pedicure and acrylics with gel polish I paid 122 in total. I will not be coming back but I wish the sweet male worker the best, just trying to help for newbies. I would recommend My Nail Spa on grand river if you haven't tried it. Update: I took a star off because two of my nails fell off after 2 days :(

Selfishly, I've put off writing this review because I'd like to keep TNC Nails to myself, but here we are... I moved into the area this past summer after accepting a job offer at UofM. I quickly began working to find new favorites. After a horrible experience at A2 Nails, I gave TNC Nails a try and I'm so very happy I did. Without question, this is my absolute favorite nail salon of all time and I've lived in 4 states over the past 5 years so I've done this process a time or two. From my very first visit at the salon, I've always felt celebrated and appreciated. I once went in for a late morning appointment on my day off and the owner made me lunch before I left the salon. Just genuinely awesome humans. Connie will ask me for updates about things I casually mentioned months prior- she really cares about her clients and the work she does and it absolutely shows. Plot twist: I asked her to schedule me for a fill and pedi two weeks out during my first salon visit. Her response: if you have to come here every two weeks, I haven't done my job. See you next month. ...and my nails still look good four weeks out- no chips, no cracks, no worries. I'll be sticking to Connie like glue.

Stopped in for the first time today instead of treking to my usual salon in Ann Arbor. TNC was clean and the staff super friendly. The manicure and dip polish is impeccable. I recommend giving them a try. I will be back for a pedicure service soon!

I used to love this salon. Unfortunately, after my most recent visit, I won't be returning…read more Tan did my dip manicure and completely ruined my natural nails. I walked in with long, healthy natural nails and only one nail slightly shorter from a break. I specifically asked for the rest to be shortened to match and shaped into a squoval style (square with rounded edges). Instead, he cut them down to short, uneven nubs and attempted to file them into a strange pointed shape that looked nothing like what I requested. I honestly don't even know what shape to call them. I left extremely disappointed and upset, especially because I was getting them done right before a special vacation. Then came the pedicure. Ricky attempted to remove my existing shellac using an electric file without soaking first. The friction became so hot and painful that I had to ask him to stop. My new shellac polish was applied so thickly and sloppily around the edges of my toenails that it was already lifting within hours of leaving the salon. I spent $140 on what was, without question, the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever received. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've been coming here on and off for over 15 years. I remember when the quality, attention to detail, and customer care were worth recommending. That is no longer the case. It now feels like speed and volume matter more than quality or customer satisfaction. I also find it telling that the website now prominently states that services are non-refundable and that customers must speak up immediately if they're unhappy. Policies like that don't inspire confidence--they suggest this is a common issue. I gave this salon chance after chance because of the positive experiences I had years ago. This visit finally convinced me that those days are gone. I wish I had made the drive to my regular salon instead. Lesson learned. I won't be back

I went to Happy Nails in Brighton for a basic French pedicure and was there from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM…read moreand it ended up being the worst nail experience I've ever had. The first tech who started on me seemed unsure when I asked for a simple French pedicure with white tips and even asked another worker if he could do it. He told me to pick a color (which is unusual for a French), so I chose a pale pink. He did the massage but did not do any trimming or shaping at all. Then an older man came over and immediately started painting. I tried explaining that nothing had been trimmed or shaped and that they had skipped that step. He kept painting until I finally said, "Please stop there's been no filing or trimming." He then stopped, removed the gel he had already applied, and walked away. After that, a woman stepped in. She filed and shaped some and then reapplied the gel. But even after that, they still hadn't shaped enough, because she ended up filing again AFTER the gel was on, which filed the paint right off the tips and actually exposed my toenails. At that point it felt like they were repeating steps over and over instead of doing them correctly the first time. On top of that the color she picked out as my base code when I explain like a cream or nude color is a tan brown color. It's awful who would choose this color manicure?? I wish I would've asked them to stop. On top of all that, the water was freezing. I told them multiple times that it was cold, and they didn't switch it or adjust anything. The towel they used was dirty, soaking wet, it was extremely uncomfortable. The color they used was a tan/brown base instead of the natural French look it took way too long to explain what I wanted. I even showed picture of the lady explained they do this all the time, but they had a very difficult time figuring out what colors to use for a French manicure. It was super confusing to me. To top it off-one of my toes was cut and bleeding. For what I received, this pedicure looked like something that should've cost maybe $30 but I was charged $70, and I still tipped because I try to be kind and respect that people work for a living. I left disappointed, embarrassed, and I will not be returning
