WOW! I was a little apprehensive to change salons, when I moved from Meriden, to North Haven. But WOW! I was impressed. The girls there are GREAT! Tina does my nails every time, and she REALLY listens to what I want!! They are very creative with the designs, and their waxing is awesome too. I went to get a Pedi there for the first time last weekend, and it was amazing!! They throw in lots of freebies, and work on your feet for while! I love that!! Definitely worth the price! The only reason I took a star away, is one of the young boys there really hurts!! I tell him ouch and to go easy, but he laughs and doesn't understand. He files really rough, and fast, and when he uses the electric thing, he pushes really hard! Last time I left there, my fingers hurt the whole day. Whenever they seat me with him, I tell them no thanks Ill wait! He sucks. read more

I've been here twice. First time was a great gel manicure, no problems and I love it weeks later still. Second time I got a gel mani and pedi. My lady slipped with the grinder and left an abrasion on my toe, cut my heel, and left polish all over my fingers. She was in such a rush, she didn't notice any of it or say anything at all. Such a disappointment. read more

really v poor experience. The lady was so impatient and totally uninterested in helping me with advice on a nail color. was rude, rushed, told me off. Work quality was poor my nails chipped the sane day - lots of bubbles expensive too!! I gave this place a second chance and they disappointed again. I think the poor customer service stung and the poor results made the experience even worse. read more

People very nice and accommodating, place is clean but the technician scraped my toes too hard. I hate, hate , hate when I leave the nail salon with a cut or scrape. Therefore I will not be a repeat customer. The technician did apologize but that doesn't help the fact that my toe hurts and I have a cut. Also tried to use their check in offer and of course there was all kinds of excuses on why the fill would still be 25 . . . Not good business. Take the offer down or honor it. read more

this was the worst nail service ever. I called ahead and talk to this woman who spoke very good English and seemed nice over the phone. I made it clear that I wanted the old-style acrylic with glitter in it so my nail had glitter actually in my nail rather than on the surface. Unfortunately when I got there she made a mockery of what I wanted...., she kept asking me why do I want this why do I want glitter maybe because she was too lazy to pull up the supplies from the back and when she did, didn't have any of the shades of green that I wanted. The man who seem to be the owner of the store force the idea of gel which I was hesitant to because I didn't want just basic glitter over the top of my nail. I showed them a picture of the gradient glitter tip that I wanted and I brought in a pair of earrings to match the tonal pallet of greens that I wanted. going through the nail process all he did was paint my tips glitter and he rushed through it leaving in uneven and bumpy it took him three different tries to paint my nails because the woman pulled out different shades of blue and missed all the shades of green that we're still on the wall. I have to go and pick out the shade of green.... I think that either colorblind or they just we're trying to be difficult with me on purpose because I was specific on what I wanted and it wasnt anything extravagant just tips with glitter fading into less glitter.. When I told him that I still wanted the glitter acrylic I'll just use a lighter shade of green he continued to say no....much work. I also wanted one of my ring fingers on each hand covered with rhinestones and he didn't do that either. he was being particularly lazy even when I was going to pay him to do my nails I don't understand why he got to manipulate his way about how I wanted my nails it was very uncomfortable and a weird situation. my nails are mishaped and bumpy and the glitter is all painted uneven. He put on last minute three rhinestones on each ring finger which made it look even worse to cover up the bad nails he produced. he charge me less but regardless I'm still would never recommend this place to anyone. The woman was snickering to another customer about me when I was unhappy with my nails. The man that did my nails rushed through them and left my nails uneven. on top of the fact the other employee was cussing up a storm and all the tools were dirty. He didn't wear gloves in his hands were all sweaty as he was doing my nails it felt uncomfortable with all the Nail dust he left just resting on his hand. in conclusion happy nails DOES NOT do intricate designs. Their knowledge of decoration is very minimal and they're work ethic seems very lazy. They couldn't even do a basic glitter tip with one ring finger covered in rhinestones. The guy manipulated his way about my nails and ended up leaving me very unsatisfied. Too bad for him because I will never go there again. ew never again. read more

This is my first time here and I wont be back. I came for a mani-pedi and my nail technician didn't smile once. She didn't use any pressure during my pedicure and the hand massage was the same. She was hardly even interested in what she was doing. I tried to strike up conversation to no avail. My nails had lots of tiny bubbles but I didn't have time to wait for a re-do. They seem to have a lot of regular customers but rest assured I won't be one. read more

I heard good things about this salon, so I decided to give it a try. I actually went twice before deciding to write this review, to give it one more chance. The first time I went, I made an appointment for a fill. 10 minutes into the scheduled appointment, another customer arrived, sat in the chair next to me, and began talking to my technician. As soon as she arrived, my technician could not rush through my nails faster if she tried. My nails came out sloppy along the edges as a result. The technician probably finished the whole appointment in 18 minutes, at most. I was disappointed, but decided to give it one more try, because my nails did last a month after that appointment, despite being done sloppily. My second time, I simply walked in. I did not wait too long. This time I needed a full set. I had a different technician, who pried my old acrylics off by wedging a fake nail in between the acrylic and my real nail. I was flinching in pain. She apologized, but continued to do it. My nails felt raw. Whole layers of my nail were gone. Today, a day later, my nails are still stinging and feel very tender. Then she went at them with the electric file. She got too close to the skin around the edges of my nail and cut the skin on 3 different fingers. The entire experience was so painful. I'm happy with the final product because my nails look good, but getting here was not worth it. The salon is also very dirty - nail dust everywhere, and I did not see any tools being sanitized whatsoever. Really gross when you consider that she tore my skin on 3 different fingers... I gave this place 2 chances, but I am done. read more

I have been going here for almost 2 years, but I will no longer be giving them my business. I went in for an acrylic full set. The woman who did my nails cut my skin with the electric file multiple times, leaving very painful cuts around my nail beds. I asked for a design that I saw online and she assured me she could do it. It came out absolutely horrible, so I asked her to just change the nails with the design to sparkles. She did one coat and left it. The work was very sloppy and unprofessional. She had an appointment and took me anyway, and then rushed to do my nails. She also charged me extra for my nail shape, which I've never been charged for there before. I was so upset when I left the nail salon. After an hour or so, I ended up going back because I didn't want to keep the nails. Another woman did my nails over and they came out pretty good, but I was charged $20 to change the color. So I ended up paying $60 for something that is usually $30, not including the tip that I gave both nail techs which I very much regret. my fingers still hurt and I'm upset about wasting my money. I would not suggest this place if you want your nails done properly. read more

A friend and I decided to get our nails done here last week and were not disappointed. When we got into the salon, it was incredibly busy but they were able to get through everyone in a timely manner. My nail technician did a wonderful job doing my nails! I asked for black, coffin shaped acrylics and I could not be happier with how they came out. Unfortunately I did not get her name, but she was very polite and accommodating. The salon itself was very clean. I will be going back when I need my nails filled! read more

Wasn't impressed. Not sure why this place was so busy. Nail polish came off in three days. They said because it wasn't gel it only lasts one to two days. Never heard of such a thing. Anywhere else I've gone always lasts close to a week. Also rushed through the pedicure because they had too many people waiting not enough staff. read more

The girl doing my nails was texting on her cell phone and applying lip gloss in the middle of my manicure. She also cut my finger. This is definitely the place to go! The very sweet couple Han and Zack who own happy nails and spa and are so welcoming and make you feel right at home and treat you like you're family. Their prices are very reasonable and they will do anything you ask and complete their job to your liking. There are brand new very comfortable chairs, new tables, new massage chairs, and so many new and old polishes that I have not seen in most places. They've almost filled every wall in their salon with polish. Mary does an excellent job with my nails and she is my go to girl. She is very, very sweet and always does a beautiful job on my nails. She pays attention to what she's doing and is not distracted in any way. In the end, to me, my nails look perfect. I highly recommend Happy Nails and Spa!!! read more

I've been coming here for about three years now and I can't say enough about this salon. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Personally I stick with Han because she has been my go to since day one but all staff are skilled. I get a gel manicure from her every two weeks and every single time she killed it. The owners and staff truly care about their customers. There is no place else I would go. A total of 5 friends including myself got a fungus from this nail salon. One by one we all had a fungus after receiving services at this salon. The service was always quick but we never saw any antiseptics at this salon which should have been a red flag from the start. The health department has been notified of their uncleanliness. If you are considering this salon think twice there are so many others in the area that actually clean their tools. If I could give no stars I would terrible dirty salon with non licensed people it should be closed down! read more

First time, last time here. Was a recc from someone. My gf & I went together, they took me, she waited about 20 mins before someone finally took her. My nails came out fine, although I sat under the dryer for 40 mins. They did 4 coats of polish on here, totally not drying w in the time frame if them closing. He tried fixing them, w only 2 coats, she still left w nails a tacky mess after drying again & w quick dry being applied. Place also wasn't very clean. After being handed two full baskets of color charts my daughter and I picked our colors and went to sit down. The woman didn't even touch at least three of my fingers with the cuticle pusher then started "cutting" the cuticles. She said she didn't want to cut too close to make me bleed ??? Meanwhile I'm looking at the color she pulled and looking at the chart and they are not the same color or brand. She then sent me to wash my hands to start applying the color. At that time my daughter behind me starts getting upset - she picked a color but the color they were applying wasn't the same color. They told her they didn't have her color and it was the "same thing" (hint: not even close). We decided we didn't want to stay. The woman that "cut" my cuticles demanded money for what she did - my nails are jagged, my cuticles look the same as they did before. Didn't pay her - they were rude and the place looked dirty. I'd been here once before and they were excellent but not so anymore. As we were leaving another worker was coming in and she asked us to stay she would take care of us. We said no at which point she grabbed my daughter's arm and kept insisting we stay. Stay away - too much competition to go to a bad place. read more

This nail salon is highly unsanitary. They don't clean their tools, and there is nail dust everywhere so it gets on your clothes and arms when you're sitting. My sister and I got our nails done here, my technician made me bleed twice, and my sister's left hairs embedded in the polish. She didn't paint to the end of our nails, so the edges look rough. Not even worth the $12. read more

I went here when I was nearby shopping. I normally use a place in Orange. I was disappointed that no one could speak English clearly and I wasn't sure my questions were understood. What made me not go back for sure was the lack of what seemed sanitary conditions. I saw as I was getting ready to leave, nail techs going in each other drawers for tools, using a cuticle cutter that was just used by someone else! I also didn't see sterile bags other places use with equipment. You can't be too careful and I wouldn't return. read more

I walked in and no one acknowledged me for 10 minutes and I ended up having to walk out. Would not recommend.

This place is terrible. Had been a few times before and was okay with the job i received. Went in today and had nail technician ANNA who completely botched my nails. One hand was coffin shaped while the other was stiletto. I made her redo one of my hands and it still came out bad! the polish on one hand dried weird and now has a sticky film on top. Along with that all of my nails are uneven lengths. I would have said something sooner but she never allowed me to see my nails. She rushed me out of the chair and to pay before i could even really see the final product. Please don't give these people your business its not worth it. read more

This salon is awful! I was in town for a meeting and needed to get my shellac nail polish removed. I did not get a new manicure, color, anything else and they charged me TEN DOLLARS! Worst place ever. Told them I wanted a manicure and gave me a pedicure and didn't even do good job.. My friend that I was with wanted a fill and they were not making her nails come out like she asked (completely different than what she asked). I was looking to get a mani/pedi for my birthday to treat myself. I stopped by this place because it was next to my favorite hair salon. I shouldn't have bothered. A mani-pedi here is $37, which is way more expensive than most places. When I sat at the pedicure station, there was nowhere to put my coat, so they put it on the ground and it ended up covered in dirt. The water was scalding hot and burned my feet terribly. I waited almost 40 minutes for someone to take care of me. The pedicure was just okay, but she let the water get cold and my legs were freezing. During the manicure she got polish all over my hands, the equipment was COVERED in old nail dust, and she didn't ask me about shaping my nails. No lotion, or arm massage. When she was "done" with the sloppy job, she left me at the dryer for 40 minutes. That, too, was covered in nail dust. She just left me at the dryer station with no back massage and never came back for me. Oh, and 24 hours later, my nails chipped. NEVER GOING BACK. read more
