I didn't know this place had changed hands, but it's still a really good place to go! It's very clean, and the staff is very nice and helpful. I'm limping right now before knee surgery, but there was nothing they wouldn't do to make me comfortable. Went in for a spur of the moment pedicure. I was expecting basic. What I experienced was far from basic. The young woman doing my pedicure was welcoming and friendly. She spent a great deal of time doing my toes and just as much time with all the extras. I don't think I have ever been so relaxed getting a pedicure. This is the nail place we went to for many years. We moved to the other side of Branford so we choose a closer place. We ended up going back to Mrs. nails a few months ago because the service there was so good. We found that they had a new owner and the service was OK. After a hard week of work both my husband and I always look forward to having a pedicure. Last time I booked us together but he didn't get his pedicure till after mine I wasn't happy but sometimes things happen. This time I was almost done with my pedicure and I asked if he was getting his since they were booked together. ( in the meantime a woman came in and asked if she could get a gel last minute and someone came over and started her nails, meanwhile my husband was still sitting there). The owner came over and started doing my husband's pedicure which lasted maybe 15 minutes he was done and they were still working on me. I could not believe it!!! While I'm sitting in the chair and he's over in the waiting area now I said to him that was the fastest pedicure I've ever seen anyone have. As soon as I put my feet under the dryer she came over and asked who was paying? After we paid and I got up to leave she came over and said oh we forgot your massage I said no thank you we're ready to go this was a horrible experience. If you need a nail place in Branford believe me this new owner is not the place to go. Apparently she does not know how to run her business and it's sad because this place has been in business for so long. read more

Very nice staff. Good nail polish brands. A lot of attention to detail. You can get a membership card that can save you money. They also massage you with a stone during your manicure and after. Love that they have wax with their $13 dollar manicure. The drying area could have been a little cleaner, felt grimey. But good staff, good service, manicure in half hour, perfect!! read more

Came in for a pedicure and UV Gell fill. Ended up being $90 which I thought was a bit pricey. Pedicure was nice. Massage could have been a bit stronger... Paraffin wax for both hands and feet. I thought it was a little odd the foot paraffin. I'm used to some wax being poured into a plastic bag and then wrapped on each heel. This place has a vat of hot wax that they wheel around to each foot for you to submerge your entire foot in...and then it is used for the next person. Hands for this I think is fine, but for feet, I thought was odd. The tv is a bit fuzzy, but Food Network is always great to watch. Oh and the kicker, there was some peaceful, light music playing in the background originally for 3/4 of my visit. As soon as 6pm rolled around, BOOM, the owner starts blasting Korean opera tunes from "her generation". Not really relaxing anymore. You almost had to raise your voice when speaking with your nail technician. Nice and friendly workers, the Christmas decor could come down though, It's January 8th. read more

They had excellent customer service. I got a pedicure it was the best one i had in a long time also they massaged and was very kind i would love to go back. And the best part is that after when your nails are drying they come and give you a massage(with their hand and they do have massage chairs when getting toes) and is very nice. The toes to get them done with regular polish its very affordable and for gel its affordable i want to give it five stars but i want to get my fingers nails done go see all the service. Very nice establishment - parafin dips for both hands and feet are included in the prices, which I should mention are very reasonable. Friendly staff, knowledgeable. Hot stone massage while parafin sets on your hands, a second warm stone massage as your nails dry. Good selection of colors to choose from. The only thing I would want more of is to make the massage while nails are drying a little longer - a full 5 minutes would be perfect to totally destress at lunchtime! read more

I've now been to mrs nails twice. I got a gel mani that was great, then I went back for a spa pedicure about two weeks later to try that out. My feet are generally in good shape, but I was so disappointed with the outcome of my cuticles and skin around my nails. They look exactly like how they did before my, $68 pedicure with tip. Couldn't be more pleased with how my nails turned out, the level of service and how quickly I was able to get in. Everyone was very friendly and knew regulars by name when the came through the door. I've had some pretty pricy mani/pedis and this one is by far the best and so much more affordable. Went here for a mani/pedi before prom and was very satisfied! The staff are so friendly and sweet and really did a beautiful job. I loved the hot wax that everyone else here mentioned and I got 2 massages as well. It was more than I expected because I misheard her on the phone but $42 for a mani/pedi isn't terrible. The manicure is $13 and the pedicure is $30 and then they add $1 for some reason. The pedicure is a little more expensive than other places but they do a fabulous job. I got a gel manicure with Julie! She was wonderful. She took her time and my nails look really nice. It's been a week and they still look great! I love the parafin treatment they give and the back massage with hot stones. They are usually fairly busy but I came at just the right time. I would recommend making an appointment. Martha is the BEST at gel manicures in CT! I have been ALL OVER God's creation looking for someone to do a gel manicure that doesn't chip. I don't know what she does, but it lasts 3 weeks. This is an amazing nail salon. For a $13 manicure, they dip your hands in wax, give you 2 back massages, and do a really good job. The people that own the salon are really nice and in all of the time that I have been going there, I have never had a problem. I am really picky about cleanliness in nail salons and this one has always been great. The only problem that I have found is that their manicures do not last long at all. They usually start chipping after 3 or 4 days. On the other hand, the pedicures can last up to 2 weeks. read more

I came in to get a regular pedi and a power color gel mani. First off, my nail person was unattentive she kept answering calls, asking people what they need - probably why she took much longer on my nails, kept missing steps. Secondly, as she was almost done with my nails I realized that the corners of my nails were white/uncolored - I pointed it out to her she actually asked me if I wanted to fix it - like do you want me to pay??? So she goes on to proceed to try to fix it and fixes all but one bc she couldn't figure out why it was not fixing. At the end I clearly wasn't happy. If your nail techs arent good with certain products, know their flaws or don't let them do it!!! So aggravating!! Not to mention I came in at 11:30 am there was no wait and not busy at all...I finished at 2:05 pm!!! Good thing it's my day off, but not how I wanted to spend my day off!! I went to do my nails and relax, but instead left without being relaxed, unhappy and wasted too much of my day off! read more

Excellent attention to detail. Moderate prices, but you get what you pay for. The spa pedicure is exquisite. Scrub, hot stone massage, callus removal, followed by back massage while polish dries. I go here all the time, and it's great! They always greet you with a smile. All manicures and pedicures include parafin dip which is AWESOME. You also get a hot stone massage on your back and shoulders while your nails are drying. They DO take credit cards....so I'm not sure what the person with the negative review is talking about. I Had an awful experience at this salon! I had an Appointment with the owner that had NAsTY Attitude veryyyyy RUDE & Unpleasant, She was so rough with my fingers she cut open my cuticle! AS i was bleeding she non caring said "oh sorry"! If my nails we rent half way done and a mess i would have walked out at that point. I had arrived 15min early for my apt and was LECTURED about how they have other customers & I should come at the right time! I could not believe it, the behavior was completely inappropriate felt like a child that was getting punished. She rushed through the entire appointment and my nails looked Terrible at the end. I asked her to please file them down a little & she huffed & puffed!! The first time visiting this salon i was treated like i was in a spa, and i realized it was ALL FAKEE just to get you to come back!!! Their money hungry, they don't except credit cards only checks or cash & don't allow you to write them out under the businesses name, because they obviously don't claim all their income. I was hoping for a relaxing time unfortunately it ended up more stressful then an afternoon at workI WOULD NEVERR Go Back!!! Not to mention they were using the same file on everyone else they used on my finger that was bleeding, so you gota wonder who else was bleeding before me!! I have a lot of fun when I go in here and am very pleased with the prices and the service. I always pay with my credit/debit card so I know they accept credit and debit cards. I know there was a point in time when she had a problem with her phone line which did interfere with being able to process credit cards. I am not sure if that is when you happened to visit. I never ever write reviews and had to write because I have been here so many times and am so happy with their service I could not let your review go without commenting. I know everybody has an off day and I imagine if the service was as you describe then she was having an off day.
