Got my nails done in preparation for an engagement shoot and LOVED both my technician and my nails! She knew exactly what I wanted and was excited to do something a little different. They turned out even better than I had hoped. And they've lasted 2 weeks without any chipping or issues at all! Will definitely be back! read more

Amber saved my nails! I was previously going to a salon that made a total mess out of my nails, Amber fixed me up and gave me my nail shape back (they look the best they have ever looked now). I'm so happy with her work, she really knows her stuff and I'm glad I decided to give Ty's Nail Candy a shot. I felt traumatized by my previous salon experiences as every other salon I've ever tried always ruined my nails so I was wary to try another, it was a choice between going back to doing my own nails or trying Ty's, and going to Ty's was the best decision I ever made for my nails! Ty's Nail Candy is one of the few licensed salons in CT, I had no idea CT nail salons did not require a license. Now it makes total sense why most salons butchered my nails. So grateful to have found Ty and Amber! read more

I have been wanting to get my acrylic nails back SO badly, but was looking for a new place because I haven't been happy with the place I've gone to in the past. I found Ty's Nail Candy here and on Inatagram. I made an appointment for early Sunday morning, and couldn't be happier. My nail tech was Amber, and she was super friendly and made my nails look great! She even gave me some suggestions for nail shapes that would look best. I had great experience and will definitely be back! read more

I have been going to Ty's for several years. The nails are always gorgeous. There is never a problem with lifting. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I just had my Halloween nails done and have gotten so many compliments on them. Someone I know actually DMed on Instagram at 7:30 on Sunday morning asking who my nail tech was because the design is that pretty! I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

So unique, creative and professional! They always take great care to make your nails amazing!

A friend of mine was a client of Ty's and recommended her to me every time I had a terrible experience at my usual salon. I finally went to see her and I will not go anywhere else. She is sweet and friendly and she cares about her clients and employees. She is incredibly talented and has many skills that other nail techs simply don't due to her experiences learning her trade in Puerto Rico. I get the most incredible manicures and i get compliments constantly. I tell everyone who asks to go see my tech, Ty and her girls! I get so much more for less money and i always have something unique. I tell her one or two ideas and like a true artist she creates a masterpiece fit to behold. read more

Not the best place! The owner has her dog roaming all over and on all the furniture! It's not a sanitary place at all! I was disgusted even walking through the door. Not good quality work coming out of that place at all. I'm shocked they're even in business. They put the polish on soooo thick and another time was so thinly placed you can see the nail bed. They wax your eyebrows sitting up in a chair! Not to mention they are just all around rude! I will never go back there read more

Words can not express how amazing Ty is. I have been going to her since 2009 and it is unlike any other nail experience. I live in Hamden and you better believe that I will take the extra 15- 30 minute drive (while passing a multitude of other nail shops) to go to Ty. She takes her time to do fantastic , precise, and detailed work while being very bubbly and personable. I WILL NOT GO ANY WHERE TO GET MY NAILS DONE. I am so thrilled for her new shop, a long dream finally come to life, I can't wait to see what she has in store. read more

Pretty upset overall with my experience. They used the drill file to remove my gel polish and they didn't push back my cuticles, my shellac manicure was messy and smudged the minute I got home! Total of $40 wasted! The only reason I gave two stars was because the owner was really nice and they offer wine. read more

Felicia did a fabulous job on my gel manicure. Hadn't been there before, but the nails came out great and the girls made me feel welcome, so I'll definitely be back! read more

Ty's Nail Candy - Simple gel manicure with a fairy dust accent. - Nail Salons Near Me - Branford, Connecticut

This was most likely the best experience I've ever had getting my nails done (spanning 30 years!). Ty and Gina (my tech) were extremely fun, knowledgeable, skilled and professional. I chose her salon in Branford, CT, first, because of her company name (I love candy!) and because of the photos posted here on Yelp. This review should be given extra weight mostly because I avoid writing reviews and because I am one of the (possibly) few women whom does Not typically enjoy sitting still long enough to get my nails done. I had a full set of the amazing pink tips put on and was gleefully (another first-I've Never used the word 'Gleefully', lol!) surprised when I was informed they have the much coveted Chrome polish. It's something I've been seeing a lot on Pinterest (along with a lot of women I know where I live & travel to visit my family (from Maine through NH, MA, CT, RI, NJ, NY & PA). I'm sure one of those states offers chrome however I don't see myself sitting down long enough for what was, essentially, a 'pit stop' to get my nails done anywhere else but here at Ty's Nail Candy. I took a few round sticker business cards and a brochure and have been practically 'begged' to share the answer to the question about my happy 'secret'..."OMG! Where did you get your nails done?!". read more

Ty is awesome. She's extremely talented and knows how to talk to clients and interact with them. Her shop is clean and bright and welcoming. It's a pleasure having my nails done by her. I've never left unhappy. And she's very accommodating!!! read more

My wife and I came here for a pedicure and the experience was great! We would highly recommend! Gina did my pedicure and she was awesome! Tash did my wife's pedicure and the wife was happy too. I was a long standing customer with Amber. I had canceled an appointment (2 days before) due to an important doctor's appointment that I had an couldn't miss. A week or so later I got a text from Ty's saying "We noticed that you canceled a previous appointment and would like to know if you wanted to cancel this one too?". It's extremely unprofessional to text a client and ask if they wanted to cancel an appointment. Simply because the nail tech didn't want to see me anymore because she disrespected someone I cared about and I told her to respect the people I care about. Don't come here if you want to be disrespected or want chunky, unorganized nails. ‍ read more

I had a wonderful gel manicure here, and I have very short nails that I bite right down, so it isn't exactly easy to do it and make it look good. The girl who did them did a great job, was very friendly, and they look fabulous! I don't live in CT, but if I did, I'd be a regular. read more

I really like this nail place -- I just moved to the New Haven area so was looking for my nail spot. Ive been here once, about 2 mths ago, and the gel manicure was great. I noted the work they were doing on others and they are really talented ie doing tip designs even 3d and acrylic specialty work. Some say it is pricey but the prices are normal/fair in my opinion for the quality and specialization work. You need to expect tips, often acrylic, that take around 1.5hrs with that kind of detail to run you in the $75 range (or maybe im used to that coming from nyc). I would definitely advise making an appointment and best to do this atleast a day ahead of your intended visit. Also, I had my eyebrows waxed by Felicia and they came out perfect. I had not read reviews contrary to this prior to my visit so didnt have any preconceived notions and was very satisfied with the wax. I am used to upscale salons in NYC and would place TYs on a comparable basis in terms of talent with a better value in my opinion. The staff is overall friendly and the environment is welcoming. I have an appointment for specialty tip work tomorrow so will be sure to update if my experience is anything but 5 star when it comes to getting this type of work done. :) read more

I'm addicted to Ty's Nail Candy!! Ty is an energetic, enthusiastic, caring and compassionate woman who cares immensely about her "Nail Girls" whether you have been a Nail Girl (or guy, I guess) for a day or for a decade. She works tirelessly to make sure you are happy with your product. After getting my nails done with Ty, I find it hard to go anywhere else. The prices are extremely reasonable especially as Ty stays on the cutting edge of nail trends and new techniques. I regularly get my natural nails done with gel polish with Ty. (We're talking every two weeks, here. Like I said - I'm addicted!) Her gel manicures not only last, but Ty does just as many stunning nail designs in the gel as she can do with regular polish. I have seen her polish short natural nails to long acrylics. Each time you walk away with a small work of art on your nails that is ASSURED to get compliments every time you go out. The proper training and education about nail care and beauty is EXTREMELY important to Ty, so you know you are going to get well educated technicians with every service at Ty's Nail Candy! Go Ty or go home! read more
