Went in to get a dip powder manicure which is what I always get with no problems. I have never been here before since I am new to the area and they told me they could not do it because my nails were "weak and broken" which is not true. My nails are healthy and have never been told this before. I told them that I still want dip and they said no we can do a gel manicure. So I said okay fine, then they wanted to add tips and I said no to that and anything extra. Just wanted the basic. After my nails were done they charged me $99.97!!!! This is the craziest price I have ever been charged for a gel manicure. I paid because I was unsure what to do. Sun Nails did a horrible job with my daughter's nails. My daughter didn't communicate will with them because they don't speak English well. My daughter cam e home crying. My wife and I called; they wouldn't refund the money, nor would they make her happy by redoing the work. The don't care about doing the right thing or making sure people are happy. I went in for a relaxing mani & pedi, and actually was looking to kill some time before going home. I arrived around 5:15, which I figured was plenty of time before they closed at 7 (the stated time on the door). Next thing I know, I have two techs working quickly on both my hands and feet at the same time. They did a great job...but I definitely felt rushed, and it was obvious that the salon owner wanted to close early for the night...which became even more obvious when I was the last one left at 6:10...I needed to dry my nails. Typically I like to take 15 minutes to be safe (hey, it's a lot of money!!) ...but she basically shoved me out the door after 5 minutes. Not cool. The nail technicians push the services like sellers, and try to over charge you. However, the service quality is poor and poor hygiene. I went in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The nail technician asked me which pedicure I wanted and I told her a regular one with a callous remover. She said they didn't have that and I would have to buy the $37 pedicure to get the callous remover. I agreed. They have a limited selection of colors that actually match and the gel was old and 4 coats were required to cover. The nail technician painted one nail at a time so it took over an hour to put polish on just my hands. Jenny the manager tried to put the blame on me for the polish requiring 4 coats and I told her to go back up front. I've been here several times and during the pandemic, they allowed too many customers in at once and many had their masks pulled down. The salon is not clean and the nail technicians have had no formal training. It cost me $72 for a mani/pedi and the quality of work is not worth the price. Jenny is more concerned about how much money she rakes in than whether guests are treated well and happy with the services she and her staff provide. I do not recommend this salon. read more

Rip off ! buyer beware. Brought my daughter and her friend for a mani&pedi. Had 2 gift certificates for the same. The girls wanted gel manicures - I asked how much - first they said same price and I questioned that, then I thought they said $10 more...I asked for verification and they said yes $10! I tried to pay upfront and they said no- must pay after. The cost for 2 maincures (with gel polish) and 2 regular pedicures was $160!!!!! It cost me an additional $53 above the gift certificates for the gel polish for both girls on their hands only! Unbelievable and not what they told me when we walked in. Clean, great selection of nail polish colors and good selection of spa pedicure options (mango, tangerine, etc.) BUT it's a huge nail place and it feels more like they are herding cattle than taking the time to do a good job. The employees are nice, but being pulled in 50 different directions. Everything seems rushed. I got a mediocre pedicure for $37 + tip, but I'm not exactly satisfied with the results. Friendly, professional, and very clean. All that you want in a nail salon. From the moment you enter until you are helped as you leave there is a constant sense of pride in the service. Jennie, the owner, makes sure that everyone is well trained and is always monitoring herself to assure the quality is up to her standards. The staff works as a team with an eye on the customer experience. I believe I counted at least 8 towels used in my pedicure and they all seemed to disappear as they were used. If you do find a favorite manicurist it is wise to book an appointment. I am giving them 3 stars because they are very clean, friendly, and do a great job. That being said, it is overpriced and the workers are extremely pushy. I went in last year to get a regular pedicure with French ($7 extra) and an acrylic nail set before I went away to Europe. I was pushed into getting a "spa pedicure" which was $10 more. She did an OK job on my toes, they chipped a few days later (I was walking around quite a lot though in flip flops during the next few days). I sat down to get my acrylic nail set and the woman, who I could barely understand, pushed me into doing gel nail set. I saw the price (about $80) and agreed, knowing that the gel set was definitely better than the acrylic. I wanted regular polish, just white, over the nails. The woman then kept rambling on and on about gel something, and thinking she was talking about the gel nail set itself, I said yeah sure. Little did I know, she was asking if I wanted gel polish over the nail. She then proceeded to do French gel manicure over the nails without even asking me. She assumed since my toes were French, my nails should be too. The gel polish cost me an EXTRA $40. My nails did look phenomenal, but it was overly expensive, and I felt very uncomfortable since I was being manipulated. If you are looking to get your nails done for a special event and you can afford it, then yes definitely come here. If you are looking to get just something for day-to-day, go somewhere else. read more

Typically I only review places I enjoyed - but just be wary of this place. I've gotten my nails done numerous times before but this was the first time I went to Sun Nails. I just got a plain, simple manicure, and when she was cleaning up my nails/cuticles she snipped a little bit close to the skin of my middle finger, where the nail edge meets the skin. It kind of hurt, but I didn't think much of it. The next day I woke up and my middle finger tip - right where I had felt the cuticle clipping occur was red, and inflamed. I waited about 2 weeks, it never went away and got progressively worse. I had to get two rounds of antibiotics to clear whatever infection I had contracted, and it took two months to be completely normal. To be fair - the doctors said its a 50% chance I got the infection at the salon, but if I had contracted it later, it's due the cut/snip that happened at the salon. Never getting my nails done again - not worth the agony. read more

Let me start by saying I having been getting acrylic fills for ten years and for three weeks they always look great. When I had an acrylic fill for the first time at Sun Nails they looked great when I left the salon. However, within the first week the polish on eight nails was chipped. My nails haven't looked this bad since I started with acrylic nails. I believe it's the technique they use for the acrylic nails. I have been to many other Nail Salons, not only are they less expensive than places I have been in the Midwest. They are friendly, excellent and extremely talented. When I have chipped a nail, I go in and they repair it immediately for me. I once lost a toe nail and they beautifully created a new nail for that toe, no additional cost, that allowed my nail to grow in behind it. They always do an excellent job! I've been a customer for almost 20 years and I'm sad to say I'm in search of a new place. The customer service has gone downhill. Even with a scheduled appointment I've had wait times up to 40 minutes because they won't turn down a walk in which causes anyone with an appointment to have to wait. They have recently increased all of their prices and have become very pushy with add-ons for example special manicures pedicures extra massages etc. I actually sat and listened to a negotiation between the owner and the customer and the customer got her price down from $65 down to $40. This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I paid for a spa pedicure and found myself with cut up feet which were rougher than when I came in. When I complained to the owner, she did not offer to have anyone fix them, but instead put lotion on them (which, by the way did not help at all). They were very unapologetic. Everyone at Sun Nails is nice and they do a wonderful job. Great selection of quality polishes. And most important, very clean.

They upsell you on everything and will insult your choice of nail color of you don't agree to the upsell of gel/French/design/ etc. They will cut you and then blame it on you for moving when it was he tech who was looking around while cutting your cuticles. They keep their prices hidden, especially for pedicures. They have regular pedicures but only have prices posted for upgraded ones. After $90 I left the salon with a giant hole taken out of my ring finger. Never again. read more
