I was a customer there for about two years and the owner of this place is the rudest individual I have come across in this industry. The reason I kept going was for the nail tech I went to whom was exceptional. Unfortunately the owner has a brusque, rude and dismissive manner that makes interactions with her completely nasty. UPDATE: I just discovered the real problem: These are not GEL NAILS (see pics below)!! I sat there and went through the whole curing process and they used regular polish and charged me for gel nails!!! No wonder they were peeling after a few days!! Regular polish never stays on me at all. I can peel these right off! Wow! I'm so beyond disappointed! Whether they did it in error or not, they should have considered that something was wrong and addressed it rather than turning me away without investigating. And to boot, the owner insults me and is rude!! This is wrong on so many levels! So, I had a bad experience a few months ago at Lavender Nails - they were incredibly rude, they yelled at me when I didn't understand that they were telling me to wash my hands in the restroom as soon as I walked in. The male esthetician was gruff in handling my hands and feet so I stayed away for a few months. And then decided I would give them a second chance . . . I requested a female esthetician this time. I chose a beautiful blue gel for nails and toes, added a cute water design on big toes and on ring fingers, had a 15 minute leg massage, had a 10 minute neck and shoulder massage. Melody was amazing and I walked away happy! Then, 3 days later the gel on my thumb started peeling. I really did not want to go back in and complain but then the gel on 4 other fingers also started peeling and cracking after only one week! My gel nails usually last 3 weeks! So today, I went in and showed them my cracked and peeling nails. The manager said, look at the menu and pointed out that it says "no repairs." I said so you don't guarantee your work at all? She said no. I spent $150 on gel toes and nails with a design, left a $30 tip, and they don't care. So, okay never returning and I highly recommend you avoid this place. read more

I discovered this place 5 or 6 years ago and have been coming back regularly ever since, as they have always delivered a lovely experience. I only ever get pedicures and regular manicures, but always leave pleased with the results. Every technician I have dealt with has been professional, friendly and produced quality work. The owners are always friendly and make sure you are happy, and are grateful for your business. I love this place and how clean and serene it is. The environment is quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. I was very surprised at the other reviews on here, as it has never been my experience there. Lavender Nail is a clean professionally run nail salon that was not customer focused or of good value As a man who obtains regular manicures and pedicures, i realize that some salons will treat me with less service and care than they do regulars Howevwe this was ridiculous I came in an hour before closing for a mani/pedi Yhe typical mani/pedi i have received in NYC or NJ includes nail trimming, cuticles cutting, callus removal, 5-10 minute arm/leg massage for say $40-45 with buff for $5 The manager showed me a menu of options where just for 15 minute leg massage ( and zero arm) i pay $50 for pedi and $20 for mani plus buff A 20 minute massage with callus removal was $65 + $20 Even though i paid cash, the total cost was $74 plus tip To add insult to injury, they asked me to do mani and pedi simultaneously while the manicurist sat only on one side of me Thus i was forced to strain my arm cross crossing my body so she could operate It was uncomfortable When a salon is all about maximizing efficiency and profits and not about customer experience, it is hard to recommend It was the most expensive manicure i have had for the least amount of time Would avoid unless you are a valued regular read more

First, this might be the most beautiful nail salon I've ever been to. Everything is brand new and impeccably maintained - no beat up tables or ripped chairs here. Lots of cleaning and care, both for COVID protocols and for the general experience. And, it's in Walnut Beach so you can smell the ocean while you get your nails done (can't beat that)! Additionally, they squeezed me in for a last-minute manicure before a trip with no problem. Giselle (I think might be the owner or manager) and Melody did my gel manicure in tandem, and it was very quick (in and out in 40 minutes) but excellent quality. They were thoroughly meticulous, helpful, and got me out in time for my flight. My gel manicure was $30 (a very reasonable price nowadays) and it was worth every penny. They also have a chart of what tax will be for your services so that everything is very transparent. I will absolutely be a regular at Lavender Nail now! I decided to give this place a try after all the great reviews. I walked it without an appt but they were very friendly and got me right in. A had gel polish on my fingers so they prepped me for that while I was having my pedicure. They did a nice job with the pedicure although the massage was pretty weak. Next when it was time to do my manicure- after soaking for about 30 minutes, the gel wasn't scrapping off ( this has never happened to me before). So she used an electric sanding tool to remove it- this destroyed my nails. As you can see in the picture they are all pitted and a mess! I had healthy nails before walking in here! I went to a nail salon to have the gel removed so that I wasn't tempted to do it myself and ruin my nails- instead I ended up paying someone else to do just that. Giselle is amazing!! I walked in on a Sunday evening at 4pm and all employees were busy, but I was patient and didn't mind waiting. Given, that they close at 6pm, they told me at first that they only would have time to do my nails, which I was okay with. Giselle took her time with doing my nails and they came out PERFECT! She even offered to give me a pedicure after all!! And she took her time with my Black pearl spa which included a 20 minute massage, callus removal, Vitamin E application and paraffin wax. Just moved to Milford and I have tried 3 different nail places. By far this is the cleanest one I have tried in the area. I only got a pedicure and the young man who completed my pedicure worked fast and followed proper steps for work completion and hygiene. However, I don't like that tips can't be included on card and the lady insisted for me to use the atm although I told her that I'll return shortly with tip since I live near by distance from the salon. read more

I've been here twice so far. The first time I was a walk-in for a regular mani. I actually asked for just a polish change, since I'd had a manicure just a week before but they said I had to get a new manicure. Since the prices were very reasonable I agreed. The gentleman who did my nails did a great job! It's a large, clean salon and looks brand new. They are strict on washing your hands in the bathroom before going to pick out your nail polish. The lady running the place seemed a little harsh, but whatever. Everyone else is super nice. Really clean, everyone wears masks, there are plastic dividers up at the tables. There are signs asking to speak in low volumes to maintain a spa-like atmosphere, which I appreciate. I also love the huge TVs set to HGTV at all times with closed captioning on. Good selection of colors. Like most places, they prefer CASH and I believe only accept tips in cash. The second time, I called in for an appointment which they were able to accommodate that afternoon. I got a regular mani/pedi plus an underarm wax. The pedi was done in a massage chair and afterwards I was moved to the wax room. After that, they put me at a manicure table. All services went well and I'll definitely be back! read more

I can't say enough good things about Lavender Nails. Making an appointment is key. Most times I can get same day appointments. It's always super clean and I've never had a problem with any service. They give you a great little menu to choose from and are always able to do anything I ask, it's by far my favorite place to relax. Unfortunately, I've witnessed some not so nice customers over my many visits and I'd like to add that the staff and the owner have always been very friendly and professional even when angry customers didn't get their way. We are all human and we all can't get what we want when we want it more matter what we may think and patience and kindness go a long way. The place is beautiful and very clean and they follow covid protocol strictly! If you pay $5 extra for gel polish it lasts a very long time. My service included the most thorough foot and calf massage I've ever had, and when it came time for me to leave, I felt like I was walking on clouds. My job keeps me on my feet for hours a day, so my feet feeling so refreshed was amazing! As previously mentioned, their available options for every service are numerous, with various add-ons available. Prices are extremely reasonable, and they really go the extra mile when it comes to making you feel relaxed. They also have kids prices! This makes me happy as a mom of two girls who love to get pampered as well! My nails also look fantastic! Usually I see flaking after a couple of days, but my nails are still shiny and unchipped! I was visiting my best friend here in Milford and we decided to take a chance on this place and get pedicures despite it being new and not having many reviews. I am SO happy we decided to stop in, it was hands down the BEST pedicure I have ever had. Eric was wonderful, he took his time and was very thorough (sometimes you go into a nail salon and you feel rushed - this was not the case). We got the lavender pedicure (around $50) and it was worth it! The massage was incredible and at the end they even included a shoulder rub (I mean seriously, yes please!) She rushed the entire process, I had a 90 second massage and was left with tons of dust in my gel polish and residue on the sides of my skin. I overheard yesterday a woman who just wanted a basic pedicure. The girl tried to up sell and the lady said she didn't have time. The tech actually asked her why, where was she going? She made such a big deal about yelp reviews that I felt obligated to post my experience, unfortunately for Lavender Nail it want that positive. My feet were as smooth as normal and the pedicure didn't last very long. No extras to make you feel relaxed really, touches like that go a long way. I am sure my review will end up in a local Milford moms group, but oh well. If your looking for a mediocre and expensive experience- this is your place. Another update about Lavender Nails after my last review. 3 more of my nails chipped and I called before I wasted my time going in there. The owner or manager or whatever texted me and sent me a screenshot of this review followed by a picture she took of my nails. Let me remind you that she said, "if it was my staffs fault, all your nails would be chipping" and here they are, all chipping. I have had my nails done for not even a week. This place is a sad excuse for a nail salon, they are money hungry and desperately need to learn customer service.
