I've been here a couple of times, and have had an average experience each time. They take walk in's, which is good. I got a regular manicure for $15, not including the tip. The person that did my nails did a decent job, kept asking me why I wouldn't get gel (I primarily come for the actual manicure, not the polish), which was annoying. It doesn't look like they clean the stations in between each client. They don't have any of the mainstream nail polish brands. You certainly get what you pay for here. read more

I asked for medium-short nails but she cut them super short, got upset when I said something, soaked them off, and made me wait while taking someone else. I had an appointment for 2 manicures and 2 pedicures . the first person got there pedicure and they had me get a manicure after my manicure they set me up to get my pedicure that's where thing went wrong. I sat at the station with my feet in water for about 15 minutes as the person was working on another client and the water is ice cold so I decided not to get the pedicure. In the beginning I went to any nail tech but after the first 2 month I just go to Elsa because she's accommodating and knows how I like my nails and my style. The lady messed up on my nails, tried to blame me and the owner said its the color that is hard to dry. Then gonna ask me to come back the next day to fix it. The nail tech was super rude and over charged me. I just called to see how much it was for what I got and the said 15 dollars less than what I was charged. I like to come here for my pedicure and eyebrows only to be done by Anna. I decided to get my nails done since I was there. Cindy's husband that sits next to her did my nails. Shaped my real nails and gel polish. Not only did he shape some of my nails completely slanted, he does not know how to polish nails I have dents in the gel polish on several nails. When I attempted to show Cindy, she didn't even acknowledge me, she seemed embarrassed and began to whisper to her husband in their language. He spoke to her and looked at me nonstop. ₩Even though this place IS OPEN on Sundays..... it is DEFINITELY NOT worth going to! I went here with my home girl for each of us to get a fill and (hopefully) get decent designs.... first time here and LAST TIME HERE for sure. To start with the young man doing my nails (apparently Cindy's son) had not only just started doing nails a couple months before (which isn't THAT big of a deal) but he ground down the thickness of my nails so far that my pinkie nail broke- and not the typical break: it cracked in half ago that the length was completely broken off, but the nail was still attached. HELLA annoying, and unnecessary. (Now I'm going to have to pay somewhere else to fix a broken nail that should never have been broken! ) The worst part about this place is that despite the amount of people they have to do the "prep work", only ONE PERSON APPLIES NAIL POLISH! Have you ever heard of anything as ridiculous as that?!? So, there are all these women with their nails essentially "done" but waiting for their polish/ design, and the one (and only! ) lady that finishes up the nails (which apparently is Cindy herself) is SO PRESSED FOR TIME that she ends up painting on sloppy designs AND color. I literally had to ask her to add a second coat to my nails bc they were streaky and she was just trying to get my nails over & done with to get to next person. I also ended up having to apply the top coat to one nail that she just FORGOT to do. And since I requested a couple designs, she came across as almost annoyed/ irritated that I wanted the design that I wanted. All in all, it was an AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Granted, it definitely was REALLY CHEAP, but I'd much rather pay the extra $5-10 and actually get my nails done properly. I went to Cindy's nails today with some family and I was taken for my appointment almost on time while my two family members sat for 45 mins and they had the same appointment time as me. Resulting in my cousin to leave because of the long wait after the appointment time was set in place. Then as I'm getting mine done a lady next to me was finishing up hers, this resulted in her nails not being at all what she wanted and I even saw the photo. First time there, never again. I'm not super picky about pedicures but this place?? Worst I've ever had. They sat myself and my niece quickly, but that was all that was positive. Water was ice cold and I asked the young lady to make it warm. She didn't speak any English so we had to have someone translate.. that's fine, it happens, she was sweet anyway so oh well. But water was still cold after, she took the ENTIRE time of the pedicure to pick the skin off my cuticles and sides which was NOT needed at all. I asked her not to do the other side because she kept hurting me and doing way to far down. She almost took a chunk out before I yelped and she stopped. Then, there was no massage at all, not for one minute. Put scrub on the TOP of my feet only, scrubbed super hard and that was it. Isn't one of the best points of a pedicure the massage??? Never had that happen. I asked her to massage a bit and she didn't get it. Then she came out with the scraper (I call it the cheese grater haha) and I was super iffy about letting her do it. That's a really bad sign if you have to worry about getting your foot scraped off. All came out well but I had to tell her to stop. The polish came out nice but already started chipping one day later. On top of it, all of the dirty tools went back into the bucket they came out of... didn't clean them off one bit. And they charged me the full price for a 10 year olds pedicure that lasted all of 10/15 minutes. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Me and my sister wanted to get our nails done and not many places were open on a Sunday so we stopped in here. Firstly my sister was taken about 25 minutes before me and the woman who did my nails was almost finished with mine while my sister was still getting hers filed. My lady rushed, was rough and very sloppy. Not to mention she was rude. I asked for square shape and a decent length by the time she finished rushing I didn't get either! As well as her coworker giving another girl an attitude because she was ripping her old acrylic set off and hurting her. Went for the first time. Had an acrylic set put on. The girl was very rude by talking in her own language very loudly to other staff and ignoring me. She asked me once how I was. She was rough with my hands and very pushy. In the gel dryer there was all grit which leads me to believe they don't clean them. I paid the bill and left. I had to grocery shopnext door. While checking out I had to wait. I was able to look at my nails. She painted one nail maybe one coat, there are bumps all over the others, the underneaths are full of plastic that should have been removed. I went back to talk to them I explained how rude she was and showed them my nails. They said they can fix it but I told them about my groceries. I asked for a refund. The girl comes up and said she spoke to me. I said yes, three times the entire time I was there. She said - oh I can't talk to the people I work with? I explained that that's rude and she was very loud. That I'm paying for an experience and should have a nice one. I showed her the underneath of the nails and she said I can just scrape that off. I said that's part of what I'm paying for!! I asked her her name. She said she didn't have one! I had to laugh at her then. My nails look horrible. Never again will I go there. I asked for a regular mani, and the guy talked me into a Gel mani, said it lasts longer, which I got, two days later my polish is all chipped off. 10 minutes into my time there, it started getting busy, so he started to do a rush. I will contact the owner today and ask for a redo or a refund. I also had a Pedi, which honestly was probably the worst one I've ever received, the gentleman walked over with a Cigarette in this mouth, the smell of cigarette smoke was very overwhelming, I couldn't get away from him fast enough. He never washed his hands before he start working on my feet, and he was coughing all over the place...just horrible. I traveled here from Southington because of the great nail art from Instagram that Cindy does. However when I got there to get a brand new set, they tricked me into thinking I was getting a gel set (what I usually get) and instead I got acrylic. They told me that they would do gel but that it was a powder. I found out that the gel that I usually get is only in the liquid form so they had me pay even more for just acrylic. I paid over $60 for my nails which weren't even gel. I wouldn't even go here again if they lie to their customers just to get an extra $10 for cheap crap ! read more

The first time I went to Cindys was about a year ago, I got a pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure was good, but my gel manicure chipped and peeled days later. Recently I decided to go back just for gel mani before I went away, I figured maybe the tech was having an off day..Well, this time it was even worse. The tech did one nail a time under the lamp and put so many coats on that the next day one of my nails chipped and the polish on 80% of my nails started to lift. I have literally never had a good experience here unless I went to Cindy herself. First of all I like the UV gel, it looks better on my nails personally and I hate acrylic because it makes my nails super thin and weak. I went to Cindy's asking for gel and they told me okay and convinced me they were giving me gel powder, which turned out to be acrylic solely because it was more expensive and would cost me more to pay them. I got my manicure and it was awful. Not just because of the acrylic but it just looked sloppy. My tips were uneven and sharp and there were air bubbles underneath my nails that stood out after drying. I decided to try this place again so me and my friend went on my birthday to get manicures. I got a different nail artist this time and I asked for gel yet again and made sure to tell them I do not want powder and made it clearly. I wanted a cream color with a sunflower. I was then asked what color a sunflower was. Then, she asked for a picture of it so I showed her what I wanted. She then told me she didn't know how to do a sunflower which is fine so she did the gel color first and then said another lady would do the design which I was fine with. After my gel color had been put on she told me they were dry-they immediately smudged which is not supposed to happen with gel when done properly. I got very angry not only because it was my birthday but because I'm paying almost $50 for poorly done nails. I asked them to be removed because they were sloppy and smudged and she told me she would still have to charge me even if I get them removed. She told me then that if I get them redone she would only charge me for a gel fill so I took that opportunity. I went to a different nail artist who redid them and she did them very well, except 3 days later they all chipped which again is not supposed to happen. I later on found a different nail salon who does my nails absolutely flawlessly every time I go no matter which nail artist I receive(but that's besides the point). This week, I called my new place and asked for an appointment for me and my friend but they were booked. So reluctantly I called Cindy's and asked for an appointment for two gel manicures. I got there early for my appointment which was at 2pm. My friend was seen immediately, and I had to wait 30 minutes before I was seen, after they took people who didn't even have appointments. I was then seen by a man and she took off my nail color and cut all around my fingers and made my fingers bleed which has NEVER happened before. It was the quickest and sloppiest manicures I have ever received. Probably took 15-20 minutes to be done. My nails were uneven, I had gel dried all over my cuticles. He put the wrong color on and told me it would look different with another coat and I stupidly listened and it was no where close to what I picked out. There were hairs dried under my polish so my nails were all bumpy. The tips were sharp and uneven and I actually made myself bleed because of how sharp they were even though I asked multiple times to file them. The polish looked streaky and ugly all around sloppy. I paid and left. This was yesterday. Today, every one of my nails broke and chipped. I will NEVER return to this place. If you want good nails, go to Mina nails in Cheshire, spotlessly cleaned and friendly environment, everyone there is good and they take their time and are perfectionists and will not let you leave unless your nails look flawless, if there is an air bubble they fix it immediately. I went for a fill and the woman who attended me was so RUDE and unprofessional . I felt like she was scolding me for turning my head! I was a nail tech for years, and I knew how I wanted my nails shaped, and I didn't like the way she shaped them, so I asked for the nail file and showed her how I'd like them shaped.... she told me that I can file my own nails and she was going to the back to eat, and when I was done she would come back to finish! I was in total shock! I asked for the owner and she never came out, and worse, never even apologized to me. Her mother finished my nails and did a good job, but the tech chopped off all my nails and I don't like the length at all!! I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SALON!!! This was my go to place, it's recently become my "do no go to" place. I've been a faithful customer for approximately 5 years now (since it first opened) & the staff has always been nice, they grew on me. But the last time I went was just horrible. I understand that when it gets busy, the staff has to put a pep to their step, but for $45 +tax on a full set of pink & white, I expected a better job. Let me start by saying that my nails weren't cleaned underneath (I have a thick wad of acrylic under my nails). When I got the gel coating, I noticed lint all over my nails (I know it wasn't me because before the gel was applied I washed my hands as instructed to, so I'm assuming that the gel or the brush (who knows, maybe both) weren't cleaned properly & that's why they're filled with lint. I should have known that when Cindy (owner of the place) seemed overwhelmed with the amount of customers to walk back out and come another day. I am so frustrated and upset that I wasted money on garbage. read more

Wasn't that busy when I walked in. They seated me with a middle aged gentleman. Who was rough by the way. He didn't ask and started off with a gel set. His technique was different but I went with it. He left them too square for me and when I asked to round the edges he got a little upset. After he got what I wanted and was ready to apply polish to my un even nails, the polish ran because it wasn't dry when he applied the top coat so that was my fault. When I got upset he took a toe nail clipper and clipped my pinky nail off. When I got up to leave he i guess expected me to pay for it and followed me out to my car. As I was walking I was biting the horrible nails off of my finger, I think he thought I was spitting them at him and he spit on me. When I got into my car he stood in front of it so I couldn't leave. Do not go here! The worst service ever! The woman that did my nails yelled at me because I told her I was bleeding from her clipping too close to the skin. This place is terrible!!! I made 3 separate appointments with Cindy, 2 of those appointments when I got there she was doing someone else's nails and had a man do my nails (I assume her husband). He did a terrible job, my nails were all uneven (in thickness and shape). Also one of my nails had a little crack and I told him to just put the acrylic over it, but instead he ripped it off causing me to bleed a little and then Cindy charged me $7 for that one nail that HE took off. On the 3 appointment she actually did my nails BUT had me waiting 2 hours (I was on time for my appt btw). Also one time I went to get my eyebrows done, when I got there she was already in the back doing someone else so I asked her to do mines and she said NO. On 12/11/2017 I really wanted to get my toes done so I decided to try a new place other then the one I normally go to and it's called CINDYS NAILS IN EAST HAVEN CT right next to Shop Rite okay as I walk in the lady asked me what do I want and I said a pedicure and she said okay go over to the guy near at the pedicure station which by the way he was sleeping and I usually don't go to guys because they are too ruff on ur nails but I said why not and then the guy slaps himself in the face to wake up because he was sleeping and then tells me to sit in the chair doesn't take my coat and I have to put it on the floor okay so I put my feet in the tube area which the water was really hot! And he cooled it down and walked outside to smoke for 10 min comes back and smells like an ashtray so disgusting!!! and then the very first thing I said to the guy like I do every time I get my toes done is I am allergic to Lavender so please don't put it on my legs and he says okay because I see they have a lotion that says it right on the bottle on his station so as I'm getting my feet done he starts cutting my cuticle which he cut way too much of it and made my big toe bleed and he was putting Hydrogen Peroxide and blowing his nasty breath on it to stop it from bleeding so at this point I am in pain and he felt bad so I said okay keep going so then he took my other foot and starts with the cuticle thing and makes me jump and say aw! out loud because he made me bleed again so now I'm upset and I'm pretty sure they all saw it on my face so I told the guy please don't cut my cuticle and then he proceeds to just scrub my feet with the liquid with the purple sponge on the bottom of my feet and then he washes them off so now he's getting ready to put lotion on my feet and what does he put in his hand the LAVENDER lotion that I said in the beginning don't put on me so I told him and he made a face and then tried to look for a substitute but didn't fine one and didn't give me a massage so unhappy even more after saying all of that and then doesn't do anything puts a hot towel over my legs and then starts to paint my toes mean while my toe that he cut all the way down to my base is still bleeding for about 10min now and proceeds to paint my toes after that he tells me go to dry them so I said I am just going to pay and leave because I was so unhappy with my service I was in pain and when I get going I ask for a recipe at which took a long time to get and got it and left went next door to get nail polish remover took all the polish off because my toe was still hurting and come to find out it was still bleeding so now about an hour after going I call them to complain and try to get my money so the owner was at the salon because one of the customers said Hi Cindy to the owner so I new she was there when I called they told me oh she's not here she's busy call back later so I said okay and called back another hour later guess what I got the same answer as the first time accept this time I told them I want to speak with a manager to complain and someone then starts talking in the background and then says she's not here no managers are here meanwhile I knew they were so I said I had a bad experience and would like to talk to a manager and then the lady had the nerve to ask me where are you calling from and I said my cell phone and she said well I could take a message and I said no I will call back tomorrow thanks and hung up I just wanted my $20 that I paid for my horrible service I got done at Cindys nail salon that's it!!!! read more
