Unfortunately, I did not catch the name of the cake, but it reminded me of a Hong Kong style coconut tart with some cream filling. I also tried a bite of an almond croissant, a pistachio cheesecake and some type of pistachio filling cookie. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. The owner was friendly and chatted with us for a bit and explained to us the different display items. It is nice to have something different from the usual coffee chain options. Also, this is a great opportunity to try some items I do not usually see as menu items at other cafes or coffee shops. I plan to return to try the Turkish coffee on my next visit. I highly recommend giving this cafe a visit if you are in the area.

Loaf had strong pistachio flavor. I liked whipped cream and loaf combination. Pesto and mozzalera swirl was a bit too salty for me. Dough was super flaky and buttery, I liked the dough texture so much, but filling could be more minder. Unfortunately, I did not have ferrero rocher danish. I heard that this one was the best. Mousse was so delicious and dough was very flaky and buttery. Overall, I think their pastries are always outstanding and good quality. The place was extremely busy and could not get a table. We ordered a few lattes made with their in-house syrups, and every single one of them was incredible. We loved them so much we went back for them again and again over the weekend we were there. We also tried their chorizo burrito and donuts, which were both outstanding. I honestly want to go back to the island just to eat here again! The ambiance of the place is awesome. It is super kid-friendly outside, featuring a wonderful yard with plenty of toys and things to do, which makes it incredibly relaxing for families. To top it all off, the staff was incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visits. I highly, highly recommend checking out Medio Cafe if you are anywhere near the San Juan Islands. The protein* smoothie couldn't be made properly because they were out of the protein powder. They offered to substitute collagen instead - not the same thing but ok. no discount. no acknowledgement. I understand that restaurants run out of items occasionally, but between most of the menu being unavailable, the outrageous price for the quality of the output, missing ingredients, and the complete lack of an apology or acknowledgment, this was a very disappointing experience.
