I had the worst possible experience with Ed and Dawn. They watched my big, sweet dog Finn at their home for 7 days, but when I came to pick him up, I found him unable to stand, his fur caked in blood and pus from a severely-infected leg wound, and so dehydrated that his nose and gums were dry to the touch. He was very, very ill. I rushed him straight to the emergency vet where they immediately diagnosed him with sepsis, and he died soon after. It is clear that he'd been sick for a while: Ed and Dawn told me afterwards that he'd stopped eating, drinking, and taking his arthritis meds the day before, and he hadn't even been able to STAND UP all day. Yet for some reason they chose to not reach out and let me know any of this, so he just lay helpless on the floor all day, unable to eat, drink, or stand, slipping into sepsis, and I only discovered anything was wrong when I walked in the door at 5pm to pick him up. By that time it was too late. If I'd known that Ed and and Dawn would ignore such obvious signs of distress from an animal in their care, I never would have brought my dog to them. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Our dog Juniper loves going to Dawn and Ed's, and we know they will treat her like one of their own. They're incredibly affordable compared to any other pet boarding or dog-sitting service in the area, super flexible around timing, almost always available on short notice, and we know that given Dawn's background in veterinary science, she'll be OK if anything should happen. Our little dog loves Dawn and Ed. As soon as we are in their neighborhood, he pulls on the leash, eager to get to their apartment. He greets them excitedly. They are so loving and fantastic with animals. Dawn sends lots of pictures, and our dog is often playing or cuddling with a new dog friend in the photos. She is always super responsive to any communications from us, whether scheduling wise or about how he's doing. We have tried a couple different boarding situations for our dog, and this is the one where we feel we don't have to worry about his safety or happiness. read more

We've used Dawn twice now for long weekend sitting our three kitties in our home. I decided to try her based upon her Yelp reviews, especially having noted that she is a vet tech who can administer fluids! My oldest, CKD cat needs them and is on all sorts of medicine on any given day and I can't leave her with just anyone. We also require twice daily visits, which not all services are willing to offer. We have been very pleased with her and highly recommend her. I'm a helicopter pet parent and I'm hard to please so I am thrilled that this has worked out well. I also had her come by when I was out of town to do fluids (my husband never picked it up, I don't blame him it is terrifying at first!) and that was just as reassuring as if she was caring for them the whole time. She has also been very supportive and texting me this week during a pretty hellish time with the oldest cat's health and I've been very appreciative at her concern and ability to offer some insight (she was falling over after being sedated and assured me it could take 36 hours to be normal again, etc.) so that is a little added bonus. I always hate to write glowing reviews because I'm worried I won't be able to book someones services anymore but I do like to support a small business owner so please book her a lot, just not when we need her :) read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dawn and Ed as pet sitters, tbh. They have been taking care of our Australian Cattle Dog Ruby for about four years now and she loves them so much. Dawn is the dream of a dog sitter. For the most part, someone is at home, and when not, you dog will have (very nice) kitty friends to keep him/her company. This is amazing for my dog, Beyoncé. At home, she seems to have some separation anxiety and has to be crated when left alone. At Dawn's, she plays with the kitties whenever she's rarely left alone, without a care in the world! Amazing!! Before agreeing to dog sit my Bulldog she suggested a meet n greet to see his temperament and how well he can socialize with others cats/dogs. This may sound like a pain to some people, but it was actually very reassuring to know that I wasn't leaving my pet with someone who would board him with someone else's aggressive pet, or just a situation where two dogs don't get along. It shows respect for her current clients, and myself as a potential client. Needless to say, the meet n greet and eventual 5 day dog sitting went really well!
