Dawn and Ed are lovely. My Pom, Fluffy loves his stays there. They're great about administering meds when necessary. read more

I had the worst possible experience with Ed and Dawn. They watched my big, sweet dog Finn at their home for 7 days, but when I came to pick him up, I found him unable to stand, his fur caked in blood and pus from a severely-infected leg wound, and so dehydrated that his nose and gums were dry to the touch. He was very, very ill. I rushed him straight to the emergency vet where they immediately diagnosed him with sepsis, and he died soon after. It is clear that he'd been sick for a while: Ed and Dawn told me afterwards that he'd stopped eating, drinking, and taking his arthritis meds the day before, and he hadn't even been able to STAND UP all day. Yet for some reason they chose to not reach out and let me know any of this, so he just lay helpless on the floor all day, unable to eat, drink, or stand, slipping into sepsis, and I only discovered anything was wrong when I walked in the door at 5pm to pick him up. By that time it was too late. If I'd known that Ed and and Dawn would ignore such obvious signs of distress from an animal in their care, I never would have brought my dog to them. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Sometimes you simply get lucky and stumble upon the kindest, most caring people. Dawn and Ed are two such people. They adore my Tater and treat him as if he's one of their own. They're responsive, flexible, attentive, all the things you would want when entrusting someone to take care of your fur child. I could not recommend them highly enough. Five stars fails to capture how wonderful they are and how lucky any pet and owner would be to have them in their lives. read more

Our dog Juniper loves going to Dawn and Ed's, and we know they will treat her like one of their own. They're incredibly affordable compared to any other pet boarding or dog-sitting service in the area, super flexible around timing, almost always available on short notice, and we know that given Dawn's background in veterinary science, she'll be OK if anything should happen. Every time we approach their apartment building Juniper gets excited and picks up the pace. Highly recommended! read more

Our little dog loves Dawn and Ed. As soon as we are in their neighborhood, he pulls on the leash, eager to get to their apartment. He greets them excitedly. They are so loving and fantastic with animals. Dawn sends lots of pictures, and our dog is often playing or cuddling with a new dog friend in the photos. She is always super responsive to any communications from us, whether scheduling wise or about how he's doing. We have tried a couple different boarding situations for our dog, and this is the one where we feel we don't have to worry about his safety or happiness. read more

Our miniature wirehaired dachshund Rosie stayed with these warm loving folks while we were traveling. She was so happy and well cared for. They sent daily photos of her looking content. It made us feel so relaxed while we were away knowing that she was happy and safe. Highly recommended! read more

Dawn and Ed took excellent care of our boy while we went on vacation and were even able to accommodate us at short notice, which we know is not the norm, but still greatly appreciated. Less expensive than many other borders in the area and Dawn's work at a vet clinic is a definite plus when making our decision where to leave our pup. read more

Dawn is just awesome! Had my Joey stay with her and her husband for 5 days and received pictures and video of him everyday which left me very secure. They are super sweet and take care of your animal like it's their own. Don't hesitate to book them. read more

My pup is always happy staying with Dawn and Ed and I feel safe leaving him with them. I know that they treat all dogs as their own, feed and walk them well. When I pick my pup after vacation I can see how good he feels in their apartment and that he's been treated nicely. And I always get a daily picture of how he is doing without me. Highly recommend! read more

Dawn and Ed are spectacular pet sitters! I would never be able to trust anyone with my beagle babies the way I can them! They boarded my two beagles for a week while I was away. One didn't even want to leave. Wonderfully took care of them like they have always been part of their family. Will definitely be using them for any pet sitting needs in the future. read more

Happy Go Puppy - What a great day, now time for some naps - Pet Sitting Near Me

Wow, where do I begin? Dawn has been the most reliable, caring, and communicative petsitter that we could have asked for. Over the course of the last few years, Dawn has been there to take care of our cats when we've had to leave town on vacations, last minute emergencies, and other trips. We felt like our cats were always safe knowing that Dawn was taking care of them. Dawn is extremely gracious, caring, and always remembers to send pictures and updates about how the cats were doing. I could go on for days about how many times she has saved us! We are truly sad to be moving away, mostly because we won't be able to have Dawn as our catsitter anymore. We will miss her greatly, and highly recommend her to anybody looking for a petsitter! read more

Dawn is nothing short of AMAZING!! My little senior guy, ToyYoda, is practically a part of her family and I literally trust her with his life. Dawn knows canine CPR, and is qualified to administer medications subq and orally. Whenever he hears Dawn coming, he gets excited and will run from my apartment to the elevator for her. When I travel, I get constant updates with pictures of them snuggled up together...I KNOW he's happy and well taken care of. I honestly cannot recommend her enough. Forget The Dog Whisperer, she's the Animal Medium! If you are looking for a reputable pet sitting business with a a decade of experience, call Happy Go Puppy -- you'll be glad you did! read more

Much like some people's desire to have a child, I've wanted a dog for years. When I finally decided on the breed it was just a matter of the right little soul being matched with mine. From choosing a name in anticipation of His arrival to the world to using a week of vacation to bond with and transition Him into Our home...to His first Dr. visit to every panicked "wellness check" that followed...Dodger is My Baby Love, and Dawn's expertise and reassurance has been there every step of the way. My instinct for WHO is allowed to look after Dodger is ON POINT! From His breeder Sherri Conard to initial veterinarian Dr. Timothy Mann (why'd you leave Us?)...on to Dodger's trainer, Cory Carr and now with Dawn TEAM DODGER is finally complete! I was recently away for 13 days, in which time Dodger stayed with Dawn. Words cannot express my gratitude for the level care bestowed upon My little Dodger. I don't think He wanted to come back! Dawn, girl...WE love you like Good Cooked Food! Thank you HAPPY GO PUPPY...Thank You DAWN! read more

Happy Go Puppy - Afternoon nap in Mommie's lap. LOL! - Pet Sitting Near Me

We've used Dawn twice now for long weekend sitting our three kitties in our home. I decided to try her based upon her Yelp reviews, especially having noted that she is a vet tech who can administer fluids! My oldest, CKD cat needs them and is on all sorts of medicine on any given day and I can't leave her with just anyone. We also require twice daily visits, which not all services are willing to offer. We have been very pleased with her and highly recommend her. I'm a helicopter pet parent and I'm hard to please so I am thrilled that this has worked out well. I also had her come by when I was out of town to do fluids (my husband never picked it up, I don't blame him it is terrifying at first!) and that was just as reassuring as if she was caring for them the whole time. She has also been very supportive and texting me this week during a pretty hellish time with the oldest cat's health and I've been very appreciative at her concern and ability to offer some insight (she was falling over after being sedated and assured me it could take 36 hours to be normal again, etc.) so that is a little added bonus. I always hate to write glowing reviews because I'm worried I won't be able to book someones services anymore but I do like to support a small business owner so please book her a lot, just not when we need her :) read more

Dawn has watched my dog Sophie twice now, and I'm so grateful to have found someone that I completely trust to care for her. Dawn really does treat Sophie as if she were her own, giving her lots of attention and being really attuned to her needs, and I can tell that Sophie feels completely comfortable staying with her. I also like that Dawn is a vet tech, because I know that if Sophie were to get sick while in her care, Dawn would know how to care for her. Dawn is extremely professional, and I really appreciated the meet-and-greet she did with us before the first stay. She takes petsitting extremely seriously. It is a career and a passion for her, not just a way to make a few extra bucks, and it shows in the way she treats her pet and human clients! EDIT: I just wanted to edit this to say that Dawn recently watched Sophie for a full 2 weeks. I was definitely a little nervous about being away from my pup for that long, but the daily pictures helped so much, and Sophie was happy and healthy when I picked her up. So grateful to have someone who loves Sophie so much watching her! read more

Dawn is the dream of a dog sitter. For the most part, someone is at home, and when not, you dog will have (very nice) kitty friends to keep him/her company. This is amazing for my dog, Beyoncé. At home, she seems to have some separation anxiety and has to be crated when left alone. At Dawn's, she plays with the kitties whenever she's rarely left alone, without a care in the world! Amazing!! I've left Bey with Dawn three times now - once just as an overnight, and twice during two-week long work trips. She's everything I could hope for in a dog sitter. As she works as a vet tech, it's especially nice knowing that she has the training to notice any unusual changes. And as a person/animal lover, you couldn't ask for anyone sweeter to watch your pup while you're away. read more

Ive been using happy go puppy for the last 4 months and could not have had a better experience. I was very nervous leaving my dog with strangers but my expwrience has been great. Ed and dawn are wonderful and super great with my 2 yr old beagle. Theyre very flexible and accomodating to my schedule and benji loves going there. They always give me full updates on his day as well. Its always a good sign when your dog happily walks away after you drop them off. I definitely recommend happy go puppy to any dog parent! read more

So happy to have found Dawn. She is amazing, really loving with animals and professional. I found her through our vet Brooklyn Cares who's always taken great care of our animals. Dawn took care of our little ones for 5 days while I was away and I know I could go away for even longer with Dawn taking care of them. She kept me updated the whole time, and my cats were happy as ever when I arrived home. I highly recommend Dawn to anyone. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dawn and Ed as pet sitters, tbh. They have been taking care of our Australian Cattle Dog Ruby for about four years now and she loves them so much. Sometimes I don't even think she misses us when we go away because she gets to stay with them! They are kind, caring, and professional, as well as just straight-up good people. Ruby is not always an easy dog to look after, but Dawn and Ed love her like one of their own and are very patient with her. They are also great about staying in touch and sending photos when she stays with them. Best dog sitters I've ever worked with, hands down. read more

I first started working with Dawn when my older cat, Clue, got sick about a year ago and started needing daily medication. Since then, whenever I'm going out of town, Dawn comes to take care of my two kitties and I couldn't be happier with her service. She is so reliable and cares for them as if they were her own. I love receiving the picture updates of my kitties while I'm away - it's a reminder that they're being loved and I don't have to worry. Dawn always goes above and beyond my expectations and I can tell she's truly passionate about her work. I couldn't ask for anything more. read more

Where do I even begin? Dawn and Ed have been a total Godsend. My husband and I work very weird hours with rotating days off. Dawn and Ed always accommodate our schedule and they completely alleviate my anxiety of worrying about our pups while we're working. They've watched my boys grow from tiny babies to big strong bullies in a matter of months. They're professional, reliable and have a true love for animals. I couldn't imagine entrusting my fur babies to anyone else. We're grateful to have found them as they have definitely become friends and our dogs adore them as much as we do. read more

Dawn was amazing, she was very attentive and communicative. The dogs were very happy and healthy when we got them back:)

Dawn was very friendly, professional, responds quickly and is clearly very good with animals. We would highly recommend her, and will definitely be using her in the future! My husband and I used Dawn's "boarding" services over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We have a 50+lb boxer/shepherd mix who is not the easiest dog to care for. He's very energetic and can be a bit of a handful. Dawn was awesome in suggesting that he come meet her and check out her apartment before our trip, in order to help him adjust to the new surroundings, as well as the other pups he'd be spending time with. When it came time to drop Manny off, I was much less anxious knowing that he was already familiar with Dawn as well as the "new" surroundings. It also made me more at ease knowing that Dawn has experience working as a vet-tech. She sent pictures and updates throughout our dogs 5-day stay with her. read more

A relative had to back out last minute and I needed someone to watch my dog for two full weeks! I found Dawn online and contacted her, and she responded immediately. We set up a meet and greet with my dog, and he got along great with Dawn and her pets. She's friendly, professional, and she's employed full-time as a vet tech, which is a nice bonus. She worked with my schedule and even helped me out when flight delays added an extra night. She sent pictures and updates while I was away. It was such a relief knowing my dog was in good hands. I will definitely use her services again. Thanks Dawn! read more

Dawn is a caring, fun petsitter with a love for animals. Since the moment I met her at the pet store, I knew she is a trusting person with experience handling cats. Our cat Napoleon enjoys her company and is happy when we return from trips. Highly recommend! read more

Dawn is the GREATEST. Our little dog adores her. She took impeccable care of him and I would use her again tomorrow. We had to travel abroad and had no worries at all as she is so kind, gentle, and loving with all the animals she takes care of. She texted us photos of him every day so we could see how happy he was. What a GEM!!!! read more

My pup Casey fell for Dawn and her gang the moment she arrived. She loves their cats and dogs and was in serious heaven. They treated her like one of the family, and she was returned to me so happy and sated - like she didn't even miss me after 6 days! That in itself is an endorsement. Casey will return there, I promised her. : ))) read more

I found Happy Go Puppy on yelp. I contacted Dawn about taking care of my dog Summer while I went away for a few days. I stopped by for a meet an greet before Summer spent the next few days with Dawn. It went well I felt good about leaving Summer with Dawn she really loves animals especially puppies. Not to mention she has many years of experience taking care of puppies an kittens. Dawn sent me daily pictures of Summer relaxing and hanging out which I really appreciated! Anytime Summer needs a sitter Dawn will be the one I reach out to! read more

Dawn is amazing!! She has been such a great help in watching our two kittens throughout this very hectic summer. She is very flexible, responds quickly, genuinely cares, and is just an absolute pleasure to work with. Knowing that the kittens were in such good hands made our vacation even more relaxing than we could have hoped for. Receiving photos and updates every day was icing on the cake! I couldn't imagine having anyone else come into our home to take care of our little ones. I would highly recommend Dawn to everyone! read more

We had such a terrific experience with Dawn! We called her last minute to watch our pup, Austin, and she set up a time for us to come over to see her place and to meet Austin. I could tell right away that Austin was super comfortable around her and her dog and kitties and I immediately was at ease about leaving him with her and her fiancee for the weekend. She kept us completely up to date with how Austin was doing throughout the weekend via text and even sent adorable pictures so we could see that he was happy and safe. We feel so lucky to have found Dawn and we will definitely be leaving Austin with her again next time we head out of town. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for overnight care for their pup! read more

So happy that my pup got to stay here for a week and a half. Dawn made sure to meet him ahead of time to make sure he'd be comfortable in her apartment and with her other animals. She sent lots of pictures and updates during his stay, and even checked in afterward to make sure he was settling back in with us well. She and her husband clearly adore pets, and pets adore them back. Our guy was happy and healthy at the end of his stay! read more

Bruce always had a great time when he was with Dawn. She came to stay with him at my apartment multiple times, and always left the apartment cleaner than it was when she came to stay, and I always had a happy, well-cared for dog after her stays. I've since moved out of the state, but I would recommend Dawn to anyone! read more

Dawn was an absolute lifesaver for my girlfriend and me. We rescued a puppy in a pretty quick turnaround time and weren't able to cancel plans that we had pre-arranged. I found Dawn through Yelp and she quickly jumped in, answering any questions I had and soothing my brand-new pet owner worries. We were able to drop our little guy off at Dawn's apartment for the night, where he ran around and made friends with Dawn's pets and another boarder. We were even able to drop him off with Dawn's husband the next day for day care as we got things settled for him! I'm truly grateful to Dawn and Ed for all of their help. read more

Dawn is a keeper. I have been a loyal customer for about two years now and I can't imagine leaving my little guy (Rocky) with anyone else. I have a special needs dog that needs daily meds and lots of love. Dawn is great at both. He likes to go on short walks, but he walks at the pace of a tortoise. I never have to worry about her losing patience with him. She genuinely loves animals. I have left him with her for both long and short term stays and Rocky is always healthy and happy when I get him back. She's great about sending updates and pictures which puts me at ease. I completely trust her and that is SO hard to find in a NYC pet sitter! In fact, she has a key to my apartment that I leave with her at all times. If you're reading this, your search is over. She's the one. read more

Dawn took great care of Meesha, my 11-month old kitty, while I was away for 5 days on vacation (and then again for three days the next week!). It was also very appreciated that she was able to fit us in with fairly short notice. read more

I'm not someone who usually lets anyone watch my babies. Last month, however I was called out of town for an emergency and Happy Go Puppy was recommended to me by a friend who was thrilled by by their service. Dawn picked up my pets and they immediately took to her. And they don't get attached to most people. It's easy to tell she loves animals and they love her. I have been using Happy Go Puppy ever since and my babies are always so happy when they get picked up. I can't recommend Happy Go Puppy enough. Especially if you have shy pets who don't take to just anyone. read more

Dawn and HappyGoPuppy provide a wonderful environment for pet sitting and I'm very grateful to have found her. Before agreeing to dog sit my Bulldog she suggested a meet n greet to see his temperament and how well he can socialize with others cats/dogs. This may sound like a pain to some people, but it was actually very reassuring to know that I wasn't leaving my pet with someone who would board him with someone else's aggressive pet, or just a situation where two dogs don't get along. It shows respect for her current clients, and myself as a potential client. Needless to say, the meet n greet and eventual 5 day dog sitting went really well! She, and her fiance Ed, are clearly pet lovers who have cultivated a happy home for their own furry friends, as well as my dog when's he's there. My bulldog is seriously BFF's with their little guy Sylvester :-D. Knowing that Dawn also works at a vet office and is very familiar with all kinds of animals and how to deal with any issues should they arise, gave me great confidence when leaving my dog with her and Ed. They also provided me with continual updates and photos to let me know he was happy and healthy. All in all a great experience and I will definitely be using them again read more
