I was prepared to have X-rays, possibly wrap her paw and planning for surgery. I was so happy that after an examination and testing her reflexes that none of my thoughts came to light. Ginger was given a non-steroid injection and some anti-inflammatory medication to take at home. I noticed a difference in a few days, now a week after she's back to dancing for her food. Dr Caruso did bloodwork, took XRay and gave me some recommendations on changing her diet and collecting urine for analysis. Also gave her a long lasting antibiotic. The intern and secretary clearly care and love animals and were very concerned for my princess. The intern was petting my cat the whole time which definitely helped keep her calm and not afraid which I appreciate. Price was very fair, and even cheaper than most other places. I'm not wealthy, so any savings is very much appreciated. I definitely recommend this clinic, and am appreciative of all they do for rescues, treatment and TNR (population control of street cats and kittens by Trap Neuter Release method).

She flippantly disregarded me and threw a cocktail of drugs at my pet. She had no diagnosis and refused to take a urine sample at the office. But don't worry she was quick to charge me for an expensive blood test for a rare disease.The cat most likely had a uti- a diagnosable and treatable infection common in male cats. To add insult to injury, it's possible a surgery he had many years ago at this facility may have created this chronic issue. I paid an exorbitant amount of money for 10 minutes with a woman who treated my cat and I like lower citizens. Run, don't walk, away from here. The best part of this visit was the receptionist who answered more questions than the doctor ever could. She was kind, informative and patient with me. I believe her name started with an M. And the doctor in question? Jill Caruso. If you're reading this, Jill, consider a career change considering you hate your job so much.

This review is solely regarding Dr. McBean:…read more My dog had clearly had a stroke. She showed all the signs: sudden loss of balance, weakness on one side of the body, strabismus in one eye. And instead of treating her for a stroke (which, as an RN, I could immediately tell was the case), they gave me worthless eyedrops (that did nothing), and told me "she's old, it's arthritis". I explained that a dog doesn't go from running around and playing like a healthy dog with perfect vision that never had any eye issues one day, to literally waking up the next day shaking, limping on one side, with one eyeball completely pointed in the opposite direction, and barely able to stand. When I sent an email to the vet (Dr. McBean) a week later, stating that the eyedrops have done nothing, she responded with "you seem to be unhappy with our service, so we suggest you find help elsewhere". Brought the dog to another vet who took one look at her, actually listened to what I had to say about the dog's history, and said that considering she's shown no improvement at all, and she went from perfectly healthy to her current state over the course of a few hours, it's not vestibular disease, and shows all the signs of being a stroke. He also said, "we'd need a ct scan to confirm (which unfortunately I didn't have the money for) but a dog doesn't go from running to barely being able to walk over the course of a few hours, because of arthritis." He immediately started her on corticosteroids to reduce brain inflammation (which Noah's Ark refused to do), and told me the eyedrops that were given to me at Noah's Ark were pointless. I've been taking 3 of my dogs to Noah's Ark for over a decade, and never had a problem with Dr. Abraham. But this new Dr. McBean is a joke of a veterinarian. Find vet care (literally) anywhere else.

TW: Pet death We…read morewent to Noah's Ark to have my elderly cat put to sleep. She was 16 years old (a patient there all that time) and had gone from 12lbs to 4lbs because she had a tumor on her lung that was pressing on her esophagus. She could no longer eat or breathe properly. We had taken her to the hospital 10 days ago and they gave me pain relievers and steroids to make her comfortable for the time being. She was still jumping and purring and playing, just not eating. They said to start thinking of an end plan in the next couple of weeks. Just for some context, this cat saved my entire family's lives by alerting us to a house fire. She also indirectly saved 70 cats by making the Munnelly sisters cat lovers. I have had her since she was 5 months old. She was very often my favorite creature in my house. Now, on to the bizarre situation at hand. First, the tech was awesome, as the techs there always are. She asked us all the questions about why we were there. I cried while I explained and told her I didn't want my cat to suffer. The poor cat was just in a doorway crying for an entire day. Enough was enough, it was selfish of me to keep her around. We could hear the tech telling Dr. McBean the whole thing. Dr. McBean came in and asked us to repeat all of it, while I cried. She then DID AN EXAM on my dying cat THAT SHE CHARGED $85 FOR. Mo's legs literally gave out from under her as the Dr was doing it. I begged her to stop. She continued undaunted. We offered to give her the records from the other place, she just kept going. When my cat was back in my arms her heart was pounding. She clawed my chest trying to get up higher and away from the situation. Why make my poor old girl scared again like that on her last day? In her last moments? In most cases (3 different vets, over a dozen different cats) there is no exam. The questions were asked over the phone or in the waiting room. When you get to the exam room the cat is taken to another room for sedation. While there, away from their caregivers the vet would insert a catheter in their front leg for the final drug. The vet would hand the cat back to whoever brought them in and give the option to let them pass in your arms or on a table while you pet them. Then they put the medicine in the catheter and the cat passes peacefully away. I put Mo on the table right in front of me to be sedated. After she was sedated I picked her back up and she was shuddering. I was afraid she was suffering. I asked them to come do the final medicine before she got more upset. I had to put her back on the table. This is when Dr. McBean began to poke around my cat to insert the catheter. Lying on the table in front of me while I sobbed. After 5 or 6 times, I kept apologizing to my poor cat. She deserved so much better. I will always feel terrible I put her in this position. I asked "Can't you do it another way?". Dr. McBean said no. The Dr. poked her multiple times (at least 8) in 3 legs. Dr. McBean then flipped my sweet girl over so I could see her furry little face. The cat was now clearly dead. She died from the sedative and didn't need to spend the last seconds of her life on a table in a vets office instead of in my arms. Dr. McBean took a very sick sedated animal from the person who loved her most in the world and let her die on an exam table while she stuck needles in her. At this point, while Dr. McBean still poking, the tech also realized Momo was gone. She was just carrying on POKING MY DEAD CAT saying "no" every time it didn't work. My toddler does this also. It was way less cute from Dr. McBean and it's not even a good look on my toddler. When we asked her why she makes this event as traumatic as she possibly could she just let us know it's how they do it there. She didn't seem to care that she could have inserted the catheter when the cat was not in front of the person who has loved her for 16 years and is sobbing. She just maintained that she always does it that way. She said she puts it in the back leg as opposed to the front, no matter what. It was horrendous. My sister spoke to the office manager who was quite apologetic and they took money off the bill but nothing will ever give me my cat's last minutes back. She deserved to feel safe and loved not like a terrified pin cushion. I have never left a euthanasia without feeling some sort of peace. This experience will haunt me the rest of my life.

I took her to Brooklyn Roots for a check up and Dr Anderson , who was so great, assured me that she would be fine getting anesthesia. Dr Stronger called me before the procedure and her team kept me informed on Babe's progress . Dr Stronger and her tech both explained follow up care. This practice does not care for the animals/pets or their owners, only for your hard earned cash. Karma will deal with you, trust. They refused to tell me the price of the bloodwork and a minor procedure that was "required" for said procedure(which is confirmed false by multiple other vet places and ASPCA). They also did tests and other stuff that I did not consent to or was aware of, I was informed only after everything was done. For example, their reason for administrating the FIV test (without our consent) is to "protect my staff", what a load of bs, FIV cannot be transmitted through humans, and the vet even complimented my cat's gentle personality and docile demeanor. They definitely pick and choose who to target. Avoid this place at all cost, there are way better options on the island or in Brooklyn.
