1st time at the Happy Dragon. Can tell they are used to a take out crowd but we enjoyed the quiet and the food was really good. Will definitely go again! read more

If I am not feeling good, this is the place I go to for Hot and Sour soup! It is very comforting and just makes me feel better. There lunch menu is a lot of food for a good price and their egg rolls are a lot better than other take out places! Service is very quick and pleasant as well. read more

food was marginal at best! I picked it up and most of it was all over the bag. The sweet and sour shrimp was not good. The hot and sour soup was ok. They did not give any plastic ware either. read more

This is the first time I ordered food from this place. Price is decent and the taste is great. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options. I ordered a bulk order for my work team. Everyone in my team enjoyed the food. We will go to this place again. Currently, they don't offer sit down ag the restaurant. Only take out. They are very conscious about COVID precautions. read more

I found a metal saving in my food. It use to be the best and now I won't go back because of this incident

Man. I ordered their wonton soup needing a little cold /cough relief. It's absolutely garbage. What place offers wonton soup without any vegetables?!?. It's straight soup and wonton. The soup base was way too salty and only was able to make it through like three spoonfuls of that. Their wonton wrapping is a yellow colored base vs. the more authentic white colored softer base. Positive intent that their other menu options are better than their wonton soup option. read more

The fact that this place delivers is worth one star alone. What the heck is the deal with restaurants not delivering in the 'burbs? I concur with another reviewer that their Egg Drop Soup is not good. It's strange because I've actually never had bad egg drop soup until here. When I had it, I wondered if it came from a mix. Their Hot & Sour Soup, on the other hand, is a real treat. It's seriously delicious. Hot & sour in all the right places. General Tso's Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork are all really good. I've had a few other bits and bobs off the menu and they were all fine. Their Fried Rice is actually very good. I normally don't care for it, but I do like theirs. The Bourbon Chicken wasn't great. I wanted the sweet, sticky thick sauced bourbon chicken. This was actually void of sauce all together. I don't get too adventurous with my order at places like this. Maybe I should? read more

Just your standard old American version of Chinese take out. They do deliver though which is a plus and service was friendly. Delivery time was about 40 but I ordered right at dinner rush. The portions are huge!! I got the small veggie lo mein and cashew shimp and it was definitely enough for two. Total was $16.57. read more

Our plaza neighbor, Happy Dragon, is a family business just like our's. Their flavors are unique to their family's recipes and they do their best to please their customers. Comparing each type of Chinese style restaurant to one is like comparing our Goan Indian style to any other style of Indian cuisine. Happy Dragon - a plate of yellow rice and sausage - Chinese Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

So I didn't want to cook or go anywhere so I call and order delivery from this place. We ordered two of the General Tso's chicken and asked for it to be all white meat with no veggies and add white onions to it. Not only did they put veggies in my food, they charged me $4.00 for onions. I could have bought a few bags of onions for that price. Then they charged me for all white meat which I am not sure what I got, it was so tough and chewy it grossed me out. On top of all that they charged me a delivery fee and then when the food got here I paid the driver an extra $6 gratuity so two terrible entrees cost me $34. Delivery was a little faster than expected (about 25 minutes) This is one of the oldest recipes and probably the most popular here in the states I just don't understand how you can mess that up but they did. The icing on the cake was when I opened the bag and sauce was everywhere as if it had been spilled or dropped. Is it too much to ask for one restaurant in town that make a good General Tso Chicken and not cost me $35 to get it? read more

Typical Chinese food take out. Good food but nothing exceptional. Always busy but food is quick.

Not impressed. The hot and sour soup balance was off and the ingredients were cheap. It was like a spongy moss festering bowl puddle. The sweet and sour pork was overcooked to the point of culinary cement. The plastic fork could hardly penetrate that breading, man. Rice was greasy and dry. Crab Rangoon's weren't bad. Customer service subpar, yelling in the back and front with no music on. It was like being on stage at a Maury show. When you dine in, they do not bring the food to you - you come up to the counter to get it. Which I'm ok with, but they did not provide a fork. So I walked up to the counter and found them by the register. I would have asked, but they were all in the back. Then they forgot my soup, told them, this time brought it to me, but with no spoon. So I went back up to the counter to get one. All in all, unless you have been stranded in the desert for 5 days, I would not suggest anyone to be put through the financial loss and taste-bud demeaning experience that patronizing this restaurant entails. Haba-ny-day! read more

exactly what you think when you want Americanized Chinese take out. I missed food that was like this and it is one of the better Chinese take out places I have found in indiana. Their lunch special is a great deal and comes with many options. read more

ALERT!!!!! THEE most disgusting food I've ever had in my life!!!! I ordered from them because they were the only Chinese restaurant that delivered to my hotel, I had the combination fried rice and shrimp egg rolls. The fried rice wasn't fried at all, and it looked a lot like Uncle Ben's rice that you get from the grocery store. The egg rolls were barely fried as well. The meat wasn't cooked thoroughly, if it was real chicken and beef at all. And the food had a weird smell to it. I wouldn't recommend anyone eating at this establishment in the future, in fact they need to fucking shut this place down. PLEASE DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Is this authentic Chinese food?--no. Is this your standard Americanized "hole in the wall" Chinese food?--yes. Is this better than the typical Americanized "hole in the wall" Chinese food you can find in every town in America?--you betcha. My family & I have been Happy Dragon customers for years. They do your standard Americanized Chinese food, except their quality & flavor is always consistent and delicious. You also get a TON of food--when I order dinner, 1 entree easily has leftovers for 1-2 lunches. Another perk--they will deliver within the Plainfield area. read more

Super Yummy! I was impressed by the freshness of the food here. The service is fast and friendly. Their Crab Rangoon is definitely in my top 5 all time favorites and as any Foodie can tell you, a Chinese place's worth can be measured by how well they make Rangoon. This is the best Chinese in Plainfield, hands down. read more

This place is a decent joint In Plainfield for Chinese. I admit I've had better, but for being a quick take out or delivery restaurant they are great. Like said before, I give em a star just for the single fact that they deliver in Plainfield. The prices are reasonable and the food is ok, sometimes it's hit and miss on the sweet and sour chicken. It sometimes comes out over cooked. The white rice and pork fried rice are always delicious. So are the egg rolls. Delivery is usually pretty quick too! read more

Terrible. There are no other words to describe this restaurant. My chicken curry looked, smelled, and tasted like it came from the bathroom toilet. read more

Their Hot&Sour soup was good. Though, it was missing pork in the soup. Very interesting coz I have never had the soup without the pork. The Shrimp and Snowpea dish was alright. However, it kinda smelled weird. Their beef dish wasn't bad though. Service was decent. read more

My husband and I ate here a few times while we were living in Plainfield. The menu is huge and the service is fast. Rice, noodles, soups, egg rolls and crab Rangoons were all tasty. Take-out orders were ready quickly; not sure about how long delivery orders take or if they offer that service. We had tried a few other Chinese restaurants in Plainfield before stumbling up and sticking with this place. Not the best I've ever eaten, but above average and worth repeat business. read more

They deliver - something sorely needed here in Plainfield. I'll give them a star for that. Seriously, if Martinsville can do it, why not Plainfield? Delivery.com or something! I give the food about 2.7 out of 5. The Mongolian beef was, well, not really Mongolian beef. I have at least one large onion, sliced and stir fried, in (too much) sauce left after picking out all of the meat. What am I going to do with all of that onion? The orange chicken one of our party ordered did smell and look good, and the piece I tried was very good, so I will sample more of that tomorrow, maybe. The beef with broccoli looked good, too. Chicken fried rice was lacking in veggies, clumpy and lacked flavor- no sesame oil or spice shake. Packaging for the entrees is good and makes the food easy to store in the fridge and reheat. I agree with Michelle M., I'd like to see them improve overall taste. Meh. read more

Usually I would give this place a 5 star, but tonight was a little dumb. We ordered 2 sweet and sour chickens, crab rangoon, and teriyaki chicken. Drove there to pick it up, came home, opened the stapled bag, and we were missing one order of sweet and sour chicken. We called, and they said "well you can either come and get another one, or we'll put a credit on your account for next time." ...why would we want a credit on our account for next time if we ordered it tonight? Is only one of us supposed to eat dinner? Also there was no apology on the phone. So we drove back to the restaurant and picked it up, and she just smiled, handed the bag, and said "sorry" and walked away. Just one word, nothing else. I was thinking that we'd get maybe a coupon or something for next time, since we had to drive all the way back, but nope. By the time we got back home, our 1st meal was cold. Their food is delicious, but tonight was super poor customer service. Probably wont be returning honestly, and it's sad because this is our go to chinese place. Time to Yelp and maybe find a new one! read more

Pretty solid for takeout Chinese-ish food. (No judgement - even though it's very Americanized, sometimes that's just what you feel like!) ;) Tasty crab rangoons and egg rolls. Not a big fan of the egg drop soup here - it's a little too greasy, and the one at Peking China Buffet across 40 is better. Also avoid the bourbon chicken - there is no veggies and it's just a lot of fried chicken in heaps of sauce... Very rich. Everything else I've tried has been great though. Happy Dragon is my go-to takeout place. They have seating inside as well but it is very limited. Edit: I have continued to get take-out from Happy Dragon multiple times in the last six months and I have a new favorite dish from here - the chicken and broccoli! It is non-breaded chicken and lots of fresh broccoli in a very tasty sauce. I highly recommend it! ;) read more

Its decent american-style Chinese take-out & delivery food. Its just what you expect. The last time they delivered, it took over an hour but the food was still warm. Very rude Chinese lady taking orders on the phone, and sadly speaks too fast to understand. I believe she will do better in the kitchen. Highly dissatisfied! Came in from St. Louis for the weekend and read a review about how good the crab Rangoon were. They were good, but miniature in size and the fried rice and lo mein were not good at all. They hardly put any any meat in either of them. The rest of our group just wanted to order pizza, but we wanted Chinese instead. We were embarrassed that our food sucked and their pizza was awesome. read more

I used to love this place but after finding a bug in my egg drop soup I don't think I want to come back anymore...

We've ordered from here twice. The only real appeal is that they deliver. Food is ok. Ordered Happy family, which should have both shrimp and lobster, had two shrimp and one piece of lobster, also the House Special was supposed to have lobster and had just one piece. These are nearly $11 dishes and not prepared as advertised. When you spend over $50 on a family dinner, it would be nice for the whole family to be able to get what they want from each dish. read more

Not the best Chinese place, but pretty good, plus they deliver! The sesame chicken was good, and the bourbon chicken was okay. I was not impressed with the lo mien noodles. I thought the flavor was bland, and barely any veggies in it, and the pork was average. They have good customer service. Best to order ahead! Id like to see them improve overall taste quality. read more
