After a long day of travel, I love a hearty delicious and inexpensive meal, with China Bistro serving on these fronts. We ordered takeout for pickup which was ready right on time. I did not go inside, but from my vantage point it looks like there's a few places to sit and they keep the inside very clean. I got the BBQ boneless spare ribs with fried rice ($11, one of the more expensive meals there). It is a large portion, and I split mine between two meals. It also came with a chicken egg roll which was really meaty and crispy - both good things. I didn't take a picture of everything right away but I instead share my lunch portion picture. The ribs are tender and already bite sized atop the bed of rice. The fried rice does not have a ton of vegetables in it, which is fine. I don't frequent Avon very often, but I'd definitely keep this place in mind when picking up dinner after coming from the airport! read more

Ordered takeout here for the first time. When I went to go pickup my order they were quite attentive and my order came on time. Now let's talk about the actual food. Highlights were the Crab Ragoons and the Vegetable Lo Mein. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken but it was not spicy and actually quite mushy. I also realized they completely forgot to include the white rice that came with the chicken and that was quite unfortunate. Overall a okay place but nothing special. read more

Ordered the shrimp chow mein on 2/12 and it was great. I always try something different when coming to this location and I've never had a bad experience. Only in town for a few days and staying at a hotel with no car, so I ordered via DD. Delivery time was good and food was still pretty hot. Ordered roast pork & broccoli, pork fried rice, and egg rolls and it was decent. Didn't include any sauce in the bag which was disappointing. Would have been nice to identify the sizes of the entrees. The container doesn't have the size on it, but it couldn't have been a full pint of pork broccoli (is 3/4 of a pint a thing?). The fried rice came in a half pint container, so that was easy to tell. Most Chinese places are generous with their portion sizes, but not this place...at least is was decent. read more

After an unfortunate experience with a pizza place we decided to go with Chinese. So glad we did!!! Ordering was easy and the food was good. I picked up our food and I decided to add an egg roll. So I didn't have to wait Amy, the cashier, was nice enough to give me an egg roll from an order that had just came out. Love it when restaurants think on their feet. It was a very kind gesture that I appreciated because I had my son and dog waiting for me in the car. The shrimp foo young with gravy was flavorful and the shrimp fried rice had a lot of shrimp in it. My egg roll was good as well. I did have more cabbage in it than shrimp but it was still good. My mom and son had their friend chicken (regular and spicy) and they said it was ok. Overall the food was satisfying. We will definitely be back to try some more things on the menu. What won me over was the service. Amy was really sweet. From the order to pick up she was on point. I have order for the staff several times and everyone enjoys the variety of choices on the menu. From what I can tell, this is a locally owned restaurant. So, if you are looking for a typical, but good, Chinese-American menu, give this place a try. All the usual favorites are there. We ordered broccoli beef, orange chicken, fried rice, fried pot stickers, and crab rangoon. We also got a small serving of egg drop soup which is shareable too. Wait times vary depending upon how many call in orders are ahead of you, but I got my walk up order about fifteen minutes after placing it. There is an order counter that you use regardless of whether you are dining in or taking out. They simply call out the order when it is ready, so paying attention to what you ordered as well as the cashier is important. Like a lot of competitor restaurants, the seasoning is simple and not too spicy. But the ingredients seemed freshly made (pot stickers, veggies) and everything stayed hot despite about a half hour difference in getting my order and sitting down at home to eat it. They use excellent/reusable cartons instead of cheap styrofoam. (I can always use those!) The cashier was efficient and other than being a little soft spoken, was easy to deal with. One of the two Chinese restaurants I go to around here. Today I ordered the bourbon chicken combo plate for the first time, and was pleased! My usual go to's are the general tso's chicken, egg drop soup, and shrimp lo mein, which are all delicious. Disappointed! We order here often but lately some items have been very light on protein/meats. Ordered pork lo mein the other day and there was hardly any pork in the order, only noodles and a few very tiny slices of pork! And no veggies either. Great first experience with China Bistro, it was just a take-out order for my family after a late night the day before, we were feeling very lazy. It was a pretty large order, but everything was correct. (Important in a first impression!) We all got separate combos and split some crab rangoons. Everything tasted fresh and what I would expect. Crab rangoons were very good, which is important to me since they are one of my favorite things. They labeled most of the meals which was very helpful, expect two beef dishes were not labeled and it took a bit of work to figure out which was which since they looked very similar. One big plus is they have a well laid out website so you can browse ahead of time since their full menu is on there. They even offer some coupon deals! I order take out. The vegetable lo me in is really nice and they give you tons of vegetables in the order. I also got chicken and garlic sauce which was tasty as well. The shrimp egg roll was smaller than I'm use too and favor less. I liked that when I picked up my order I could see straight back into the kitchen. Everyone was wearing face masks. The interaction with cashier in the front is through a glass, to minimize infections. She puts your food in a cabinet that you open on the other side and receive your order.
