Quite possibly the worst Chinese buffet I've ever been to. The food was cold, taste was ehh. Another customer brought it to their attention and all they did was stir the food. It didn't get any warmer. Another worker asked if the heaters were turned up enough and the lady behind the counter shrugged saying "I don't know" and giggling. I saw two bottles of soy sauce for the whole restaurant and they stayed by the drink machine. The atmosphere was gloomy and sad. I would highly advise against eating here. We ordered food to be delivered. The food tasted old and cold and not edible. We ended up throwing $40 worth of food in the trash. The shrimp fried rice was dry and hard with no flavor. The Lo mein was dry and had no flavor as well. The beef and broccoli was nasty. I can only describe the beef as being rubbery and chewy. The teriyaki chicken on sticks were slightly undercooked. The only edible thing was the broccoli. I love Chinese food but I will never order from here again. Waste of money. They should be closed down. I can't imagine anyone wanting to eat what I just had delivered. read more

Stopped in for dinner with my daughter on the way home. Limited selection of food but still plenty to choose from. Everything was clean and while I liked that they are using plastic plates and utensils, they would not be my first choice. The green beans were my favorite of all the selections. I saw a sign saying you have to wash your hands if you want to serve yourself bur they are not enforcing it so I'm guessing that's from when we were in full lockdown. May visit again and see if they have more selections to choose from. read more

This was a very strange experience and I don't recommend coming here. The sign clearly states that the buffet is $10.45. The girl however said, no, we had to get a plate and bring it up for her to weigh at $5.99 a lb. She said it was cheaper that way. Well, it isn't cheaper and we tried to tell her that we wanted to pay the $10.45, but it wasn't going to happen. We watched a group of 9 walk out after hearing the ridiculous rule about weighing every plate as you go. WOW! $100.00 out the door. Unassuming but they've really stepped up their game. The soup was good, buffet looked stocked and the food was hot. They provided disposable gloves for patrons to use while serving themselves. I've never had the buffet. I try to avoid all buffets at all costs. The take out is good, though!. Your average, tasty Chinese (ahem, American) fare. I have an egg roll thing going on right now and I am in search for the perfect crispy egg roll and vat of hot mustard. I didn't find it here, but the egg roll was good! (Mustard = Packet). I had some kind of crazy duo that was seafoody on one side and chickeny on the other. It was good. Pip had chicken fried rice w/ gravy. He orders a side of the Egg Foo Young gravy for his fried rice. Apparently, back home in Belfast, all fried rice has a brown gravy option. I just don't get it. (I did just give myself a hankerin' for that gross dark brown McCormick powdered gravy, though!) After I presented my lunch buffet coupon, the cashier said that on Sundays it is actually an all-day dinner buffet because of the extra seafood, which I don't eat. Because the drink is included, I agree to the higher price although they do not advertise the difference. I was told that all Chinese restaurants in that area only have dinner buffet on Sunday. I visited another Chinese buffet in Plainfield that day and that is the case there too. How interesting! Not so in Castleton. The banana pudding looked cute with the whipped cream design. The fried chicken was appetizing. I had to ask to fix the cherry Coke machine. The teriyaki chicken on a stick looked pale and did not have a lot of flavor. The buffet was all together OK. I wished they showed on the TV something else instead of Sponge Bob. After going there, I decided I need to visit Formosa for a weekend lunch. read more

Bathroom was fairly clean, food was overcooked at 6pm. Soup was sticking to sides of the container, mushrooms looked like they were several days old, lettuce was laying on a wet tray and cut vegetables were dry. Pot stickers were good. First off I hate buffets. I hate that people send their kids up their alone to finger the food and sneeze on it. I hate that people act like they can't go a second time and just pile food on their plates. I also hate that my food touches and wish that we had cafeteria style plates. With all that said on my visit I felt like a school bus had dropped off because my buffet was filled with nothing but children touching the food while parents just sat there which isn't the restaurants fault but really kills an appetite. My children are 14 so they love this darn place as it does have better food than the Brownsburg buffet. However it is hit and miss on fresh food. Luckily it was busy so they did have fresh food. The food is nothing spectacular it is normal China buffet food. The floor is pretty gross and I like to tell myself it is just dirty from the day and they clean it at night. My advice is DO NOT LOOK AT THE FLOOR. The price is creeping up there as we do tip at the end bc the people that clean up do work hard with all those plates. For a family of 3 w tip was about $31.00. This is somewhere we eat maybe twice a year. read more

I was hungry for Chinese, had a coupon, and decided to try it again... Silly me. Even with the coupon (which they overcharge you by collecting way more sales tax than they should) it was way over $7 for lunch. I was there for lunch as they opened and took 15 minutes to finally fill in the buffet. The food was stone cold. You would think that it would be hot when first put out... nope. Wonderful Chinese buffet, restrooms are quite clean, they bring food out before it runs out, keep up with supplies, very easy place, you walk in and pay and you can go get drinks and food and sit and it's very lovely. Over fifty different thingggs to get, four food sections (one along the wall) and I saw another review said no sushi but I saw sushi it was by the salad and fruit. And they do have fortune cookies, the same island where you get napkins and drinks. It's a very do it yourself place so it's nice if you like being independant (which I do) food was hot and not cold, and maybe it's cause it was a busy lunch time, I don't know I haven't been at a light hour. This is the average Chinese Buffet experience. During peak lunch and dinner with fast turn over the food is pretty fresh but arrive late and the steam tables will sap the flavor and dry out the food. The General Tso chicken is one of the better ones I've tasted and the veggies tend to be tender crisp in the other entrees (until that steam table does its work). They have all the usual fried things - Crab Rangoon, egg & spring rolls, fried shrimp, Sweet & Sour Chicken along with fried dumplings, stuffed mushrooms etc. They have a salad bar with Sushi, peel & eat shrimp and the usual kids stuff and deserts. Like most buffets this is aimed toward maximum caloric consumption and not toward really high quality, but it is better than most. Their carryout is better since this food is fixed fresh and doesn't have the steam table wait. The dining area is getting a little worn and the place could use some new carpets, but the serving tables are kept clean. Still, it would be nice to have Asian restaurants that serve a higher quality and more authentic, freshly prepared menu in the area. read more

I am not usually a big buffet sort of person, however on this day I had errands to run in this shopping center. While mom finished her grocery shopping (she doesn't drive) I loaded mine into the car and elected to go to the buffet and grab take out. Which was extremely inexpensive and came with a drink or soup. They give you the container and you select from the fresh buffet items anything you like that will fit and you are on your way. This turned out to be perfect for me as I had one of those days that I wouldn't have know which option to choose from a menu! The food was fresh, tasty, and the location clean. I will definitely stop in here again to create my own chinese meal! read more

I can't speak for their take out but this was the worst buffet I've ever eaten at in my life. I had to make a yelp account just to warn people. The food is the plainest tasting food I've ever eaten. The ice cream in the ice cream machine they even managed to mess up. The cake looked nice but it tasted just like everything else. Plain. Hardly any selection, no sushi, no orange chicken, no sweet n sour, no terriyaki, nothing. The only reason I found myself getting up more than once to go back was the soda machine and the fortune cookies. Quite cheap with only 6.50 a person but I would of rather bought some fast food. It could be said it is true you get what you pay for. But I've experienced the polar opposite elsewhere in this price range. The store is rather small, dated, and mirrored like a fun house. It does make it seem larger. There are 4 buffet banquets. and a rather large drink station the size of a mansion kitchen island. The offerings were bland or greasy. Minimal spice or choice of anything that seemed to be made in-house. Dumplings were frozen steamed prior to putting out. General Tso and other chicken dishes appeared incredibly similar. The scary part for those with allergies would be the pork and scallions. It was actually shrimp....... There was sushi, but after seeing other options I wouldn't recommend that. Nearly positive it was prepackaged. Overall I would not recommend this place. Was hoping for a hole in the wall experience and lacked any real true positive experience. read more

We came on a Tuesday evening, and the food was horrible. They don't even have Beef and Broccoli! At all!

This was always my go to Chinese Buffet when I lived down the road from it. Its a smaller buffet compared to some of the others around, which I like because they seem to keep the food fresher. I also like that I can get my own drinks here and don't have to worry about a waitress. Also I like that they have the traditional shaped Crab Rangoons here instead of the triangle shaped ones. If you go here I do recommend going as soon as it opens or shortly after. That's when the food is the freshest and they'll have everything you want available, but that goes for all Chinese Buffets. I tend to stay away from any Chinese Buffets during dinner because I don't know how long the food has been sitting on the buffet and sometimes they are not as good at replacing food that has ran out during dinner. As far as the Chinese Buffets I've been to this is one of the better ones and I'll will be back to it for sure. read more
