Wow! It's been six years since my original review here. The granddaughter had an appointment across the road for eyelashes and we were super early so we decided to eat first. The Pepper Steak is still the best I have ever had at any Chinese restaurant. I need to come back more often. She got the Pot Stickers which were good. I had one too. I also ordered the Egg Drop soup and it was very good. The service was extra fast and friendly. Even though it was two o'clock in the afternoon, people would come and go to pick up food orders. I ordered the Honey Chicken to go thinking I could get a nice chicken dish. Protein is what I wanted so I thought I couldn't go wrong with a simple honey chicken. I did expect for there to be a light breading cause it is deep fried. What I wasn't expecting was laziest excuse for a dish. This is exactly why I'm always skeptical when going to a restaurant. Will I encounter an owner and chef who actually cares about what they're serving? Or will I encounter the " Buy everything from a restaurant supplier of mass produced frozen bags only to later be ripped open and poured into a deep fryer and served up as " Honey Chicken". I normally don't leave bad reviews but for god sakes people, " MAKE AN EFFORT!" How hard is it to cut an actual piece of chicken and lightly bread it yourself. Is it really that difficult to make a meal half decent!!! I can't speak for any of their other dishes but this is the one I got. The order was right on time as scheduled and everything was in order to that respect. I ordered... Sweet and sour pork ($8.25 regular portion): this was about the standard sweet and sour pork I've had at other similar restaurants. It is usually my staple Chinese takeout order for a reason! Review is for carry out! The person on the phone was super friendly and repeated everything make to make sure the order was correct (which is was). Food was very average. Portion size of the "regular" was good for one person. Food was just as expected. Maybe on the salty side but also that's kind of what you'd expect! Flavor wasn't out of this world, but it was good. Crab Rangoon was good, but didn't come with any dipping sauce, which was an unexpected bummer. Prices were as expected for this type of restaurant. Less than what we expected from Yelper reviews. Went straight to the lettuce wraps. Too much hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Salty. Half of lettuce was limpy and not good for wraps. We ordered soup. Both the egg drop and the hot and sour were thick from too many gelatin sheaves. Flavor was good on the hot and sour. The pot stickers appeared as if made by a beginner, no fluting, doughy and unappealing. I would not order again. The Lo Mein appeared to be regular spaghetti with too much soy sauce and scraps of chicken, beef and pork ribs with a few 31/33 count shrimp. They probably have a repeat trade of folks looking for a cheap Asian meal and if that's what you want then this hits the mark. We won't be back Our server was very pleasant, prompt and attentive. I learned the hard way that shrimp and egg are included in Veggie Singapore noodles unless their omission is specifically requested when ordering. Last evening, howeve, inquired about an upcharge on my bill. I was informed that the upcharge was for adding vegetables to Veggie Singapore noodles. My son loves Chinese food mainly orange chicken. I am new to the area so I looked up local Chinese restaurants and decided to try Asia Wok. The service and staff were very attentive and friendly. This place is lightening quick. We ate dinner and I guessed the portions would be large and they are very generous. I ordered one meal for both of us and we still had leftovers.The menu is plentiful with enough combinations and variations to satisfy any palate. I saw a lot of vegetarian options as well. We ordered cheese rangoons and the triple delicacy. It was very fresh hot and tasty. Also the decor is not your typical Chinese restaurant it's actually very nice. My go to Chinese Restaurant in Hendricks County. Very authentic and not the usual grease fat bomb from most Chinese Places. Hot and sour soup is the bomb. Korean Seafood noodle soup is so good. Wow! What a discovery. I stumbled upon this little gem when looking for a menu online for a different place. This isn't your average every day Chinese take out. It's a step up, offering a slightly more upscale menu with super fresh ingredients. Egg Rolls are handmade and really delicious. They are on the smaller side, when comparing them to the big frozen guys from the other take out joints. Plus, they have house made dipping sauces, including the sinus-clearing hot mustard. It. Is. Amazing. Egg Drop Soup is thick and rich. It's very good, but not the best I've had. It needed a little something. You know, whatever it is that take Egg Drop Soup over the edge. Let's say it's a 3 out of 5 stars. 10 Ingredient Fried Rice was delicious, but there was not a lot of protein in the dish. If you're doing this as an entree, I'd have them add more chicken. Sweet & Sour Chicken was DELICIOUS and their sauce is delicious. It's not the day-glo red sauce that you see way too often. Also, the chicken is hand breaded in a light batter. It has a great flavor. Truly enjoy all the food from here every-time I go. They have a wide variety of Asian food and it's all very fresh. I have tried several things on the menu and I've never been disappointed. My only complaint is that even if you order ahead you always end up waiting for the food when you go to pickup. This was an issue before COVID, but it continues till now. Even if you wait the recommended wait time, you still end up waiting every time. Other than that it's a great place to order from or stop by for a visit. This is one of those places that I *almost* don't want to tell people about, because I hate the thought of my husband & I not being able to snag a table after a busy work day :-). BUT...this place is too great not to review & I want them to be busy so they don't have to leave town :-). I will start this review off by saying that the owners, workers & staff at this restaurant are outstanding & incredibly friendly. We eat at Asia Wok at least once a month, sometimes more depending on our schedules. We love the freshness of the ingredients, the attention to detail in preparation, and the ability to customize the spice level on dishes (you can even make non-spicy dishes spicy! :-) ). Yes, "American Chinese Food" staples like Lo Mein & General Tso's might have a little spin here, but that is because this place ACTUALLY MAKES their food, instead of relying on the generic, cookie-cutter food supplies. This restaurant also offers a small gluten-free menu for those interested. A few of our favorite menu items include: - Singapore Noodles [extra spicy] - Double pan fried noodles [spicy] - Firecracker Udon noodles [spicy...we apparently like noodles] - Orange Beef - Pan fried dumplings - Ten Ingredient Fried Rice [adding spice] We've tried a lot of things on the menu, and so far have not had a bad meal. I have been looking for a new Asian place for the past couple months- and for the time being, I have found it! Happy Dragon on Perry Rd just is not making the cut. This place is awesome! Nice on the inside, nice staff, and yummy food. We got the Vegetarian Tofu with white rice, the firecracker udon noodles with pork, and general tso's beef- ALL were great! We got the small portions and thought it was a good amount, even for dinner. I didn't feel heavy and weighed down after most asian food places. This place has take out, too. I can't wait to go back and try new things! The true test will be how they fare with my go-to dishes: hot n sour soup and lo mien, but for now they get 5 stars. read more

Best Chinese food in Indy. Shrimp fried rice is delicious and classic. Other favorites are won ton soup, shrimp with broccoli, mongolian chicken and shrimp egg foo young. I actually love dining in as much as takeout. It's small yet cozy and the staff is always nice and friendly. The main cook always comes from the back to say hello whenever I'm there for dine in or takeout. Chinese is my favorite cuisine, so this is like comfort food for me. I love this place! Long time customer. At both Brownsburg and Plainfield locations AW thumbs their culinary nose at average old buffet served Asian food. Everything here is served fresh and hot. My favorites are the hot and sour soup, and the lo mien. Also the honey chicken is great, fresh and crispy. A couple of things keep it from 5 stars though: 1) The experience sort of falls off when you dine in. Sometimes they get busy and with carry outs on the phone and at the counter and table full inside it's hard to get some attention. Lunch is fine usually not too busy. The trick is - be patient or come early or late.... Or get carry out. 2) Be prepared to eat some of you food off of or out of styrofoam, not ideal but worth it. At first I wrote this place off because I was turned off by styrofoam, but eventually the taste brought me back! Bottom line, great food made fresh! read more

Stopped in here for lunch while running errands on this side of town with my guy. We walked in and were promptly greeted by a woman server. She had a full house. All the tables either had people or needed to be cleaned. She gave us menus and brought water. We ordered the lunch special. Great value!! I had the Szechwan chicken, he had the General Tso's chicken. I got the wonton soup, he had the crab ragoon and we both ordered the side of lo main that was included with the special. I also added an egg roll because I like variety and I was hungry. The food started coming out immediately. The wonton soup was boring and lacked depth of flavor. The egg roll was good. The crab lagoon, tasty. The lo mean was perfection for us. Big portion and great flavor. I enjoyed my chicken dish but the General Tso's chicken was a bit of a miss. It was white meat chicken friend in a light crisp crusted (think sweet and sour chicken) and then had sauce spooned over it. Eh, not our favorite. Our bill came and it was $16 total for all that food! I should also mention the server was slammed from the moment we walked in to the moment e left. She was the only one in there and it was a full house. Plus she handled some to go orders while we were there. She always had a smile on her face and though you knew she was stressed because of the circumstances, she never lost her cool. Kudos to you young lady!! We will be back when in the area! read more

I was missing food from California. So I yelped for the closest Chinese food. This is what I found. The yelp reviews were decent here so I took a chance. Boy, I was disappointed. First of all, this place is super small. No one was dining in. The service was fairly ok when they came around. I got up few times just to get some service. I ordered the Salt & Pepper Calamari. It was soggy and lack flavors. I also got the Double Pan Fried Noodles. It was burnt and needs more seasoning. It also needs more sauce to cover the noodles. It felt like eating prick needles, which was hurting my throat. I don't expect perfection here as I know I am from the land of mega asian food, but this place could use some useful suggestions. I also ordered some togo items, such as Wonton Soup and Beef Flat Noodle for my brother. He threw up and said "this is terrible. I told you not to go there". Ahh! Literally so much mouth watering decisions! Every time I go to Asia Wok my heart just smiles and makes me want to sample everything that they have. They have so many different options and they even have vegetarian choices. When you walk in the environment is a comfortable, and chill environment. It's a nice place to spend time with friends and talk about anything and everything while eating delicious food! It's not expensive and you get what you pay for! I got the Kung Pow with Tofu as well as an egg roll. Usually, when I think of egg rolls I always think they're delicious and amazing and when I get them they are kind of gross.
