This was a very strange experience and I don't recommend coming here. The sign clearly states that the buffet is $10.45. The girl however said, no, we had to get a plate and bring it up for her to weigh at $5.99 a lb. She said it was cheaper that way. Well, it isn't cheaper and we tried to tell her that we wanted to pay the $10.45, but it wasn't going to happen. We watched a group of 9 walk out after hearing the ridiculous rule about weighing every plate as you go. WOW! $100.00 out the door. Some of the food was good, although the choice was limited and some was not that great in my opinion. I doubt that I will be returning.

    SO SMALL!

This is quite possibly one of the worse buffets I have ever eaten at. The food was cold and doused in sauce.the drink machine was the focus of the dining bar. Only 2 main food sections with about 8 pots. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Spend your money at McDonalds and not at this place!

Best Buffet I've been to yet. Everything was delicious. The ice cream is the best in or around Indianapolis IN.

An avon favorite, its quite filled for a sunday lunch.

Wonderful Chinese buffet, restrooms are quite clean, they bring food out before it runs out, keep up with supplies, very easy place, you walk in and pay and you can go get drinks and food and sit and it's very lovely. Over fifty different thingggs to get, four food sections (one along the wall) and I saw another review said no sushi but I saw sushi it was by the salad and fruit. And they do have fortune cookies, the same island where you get napkins and drinks. It's a very do it yourself place so it's nice if you like being independant (which I do) food was hot and not cold, and maybe it's cause it was a busy lunch time, I don't know I haven't been at a light hour. But I really like it.

Soup and egg rolls were edible.

Pretty standard buffet. Food was good and the place was busy. Drinks and dessert is included.

I did not go inside, but from my vantage point it looks like there's a few places to sit and they keep the inside very clean. I got the BBQ boneless spare ribs with fried rice ($11, one of the more expensive meals there). It is a large portion, and I split mine between two meals. It also came with a chicken egg roll which was really meaty and crispy - both good things. I didn't take a picture of everything right away but I instead share my lunch portion picture. The ribs are tender and already bite sized atop the bed of rice. The fried rice does not have a ton of vegetables in it, which is fine. I don't frequent Avon very often, but I'd definitely keep this place in mind when picking up dinner after coming from the airport!

Highlights were the Crab Ragoons and the Vegetable Lo Mein. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken but it was not spicy and actually quite mushy. I also realized they completely forgot to include the white rice that came with the chicken and that was quite unfortunate. Overall a okay place but nothing special.

The Pepper Steak is still the best I have ever had at any Chinese restaurant. I need to come back more often. She got the Pot Stickers which were good. I had one too. I also ordered the Egg Drop soup and it was very good. The service was extra fast and friendly. Even though it was two o'clock in the afternoon, people would come and go to pick up food orders. It didn't slow down the one person who was working the dining room and order counter.

I did expect for there to be a light breading cause it is deep fried. What I wasn't expecting was laziest excuse for a dish. This is exactly why I'm always skeptical when going to a restaurant. Will I encounter an owner and chef who actually cares about what they're serving? Or will I encounter the " Buy everything from a restaurant supplier of mass produced frozen bags only to later be ripped open and poured into a deep fryer and served up as " Honey Chicken". I normally don't leave bad reviews but for god sakes people, " MAKE AN EFFORT!" How hard is it to cut an actual piece of chicken and lightly bread it yourself. Is it really that difficult to make a meal half decent!!! I can't speak for any of their other dishes but this is the one I got. From the looks of other pictures they probably do it with other items as well. Shrimp as well I'm sure.

Disappointing Experience at Peking China Buffet 9/16/2025 at 11am…read moreRating: (1/5) Visited Peking China Buffet in Plainfield, IN for lunch with two friends--and unfortunately, it was a letdown from the moment we walked in. The dining room was dim due to multiple burnt-out bulbs, and the stained ceiling didn't help the first impression. Our server showed us to the table with no greeting or smile, just a quick drink order. The buffet itself was sparse and looked tired--most trays had only a few items, and very little appeared fresh. I tried to stick to the newly replenished dishes, but even that felt like a gamble. The moment that sealed it: my buddy accidentally dropped an egg roll on the floor, placed it at the end of the buffet bar, and grabbed the last one. Minutes later, I returned to find that same dropped egg roll had been put back into the serving bin. That raised serious concerns about food safety and cleanliness. After taking a closer look around, the place felt dirty and poorly maintained. Later that afternoon, all three of us felt ill. Between the high prices, stale food, and questionable hygiene, this is not a place we'll be returning to.
