Came here for the first time yesterday before a Cubs game and had a great time with my friends! It was a Monday game, so I imagine it was not nearly as crowded as it could get, however there were still a lot of people and a lot going on which was fun. We were able to sit immediately which was great! Our servers were very attentive and came to our table often, despite how many other people were there. We ended up splitting a charcuterie board, the potato skins appetizer, and I got an Aperol Spritz. I thought the charcuterie board was cute but just okay, the potato skins were really good tho if you're looking for a hot app. Overall, I thought the vibe was great! Happy Camper is a really large spot with some great service. Honestly every single person I interacted with was fantastic, and I'd love to see them again at a dinner or in a personal context. Truly 10/10 from a service perspective. I however feel bad that on a Tuesday evening they're all sitting basically alone in a large restaurant/bar. Yes a few people came in, but like the vibes of the people coming in were way off. The pizza is not bad, but it's not as good as I wanted it to be. The cocktail was decent, but again not as good as I wanted it to be. The caesar salad fit the same mold. This place is fine if your friends want to go, but it's not really a place i'm seeking to go to! read more

Happy Camper is always a great time and easily a 5 star spot for me. The vibe is fun and lively without feeling over the top, and it's a perfect place to hang with friends. I've been a couple times now and the pizza never disappoints. The Nadene is a standout with great flavor and a perfect balance of ingredients, and the BBQ chicken pizza is just as good with a nice smoky sweetness. Both had solid portion sizes and came out fresh. Service has always been on point and the whole experience just feels easy and enjoyable. Really Fun time coming here for the summer house reunion! They had such fun party favors and our waiter Dylan was amazing and was able to get the subtitles on for us deaf girls lol! I looked up on Yelp and it popped up Happy Camper! Super excited! Parking was crazy but that's Chicago right? HH is 3-6pm and boy the have some smoking deals! One of those places that are way too loud to be practical. You end up leaving with your ears ringing for an hour and your throat hurting from shouting. You can't properly socialize because you can't hear anyone who isn't directly next to you, so you end up leaving feeling you didn't interact with the people you came to see. Food is not bad. The skinny awkward black man at the door wouldn't stop shouting in my face "id and go to the hostess" "id and go to the hostess" "id and go to the hostess" which to me meant show my id to the hostess. It turns out he was just awkward, weird, rude, and awful at communicating- he couldn't seem to gain enough self awareness to realize he needed to reword and/or separate what he was saying to clarify he was apparently a bouncer asking to see my id and not telling me to show my id to the hostess. Not sure why someone so rude and awful at communication was front facing and not far away from customers. read more

We met up with a few friends for a couple drinks. I was able to try a slice of the goat cheese and fig pizza, which was amazing. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture for this. The service was very attentive and friendly and the vibe inside is great. It takes you back to an Airstream camper vibe and very vintage feel. I tried this place after finding it randomly online. The place was decorated so nicely, it reminded me of the back yard or literally camping out. When you walk in you are treated by the hostess in the RV. I ordered the most popular pizzas on their menu. The menu was easy to read and the pizzas I ordered were placed in red and star because they were the most popular. I couldn't decide on which one so I ordered all three. lol The Linda was probably my favorite one next to the pepperoni(creamy and delicious). It took maybe 15mins to get my food. Good ole Happy Camper! I don't even know how many times I've been here by now - I lost count after 5. Happy Camper always smacks. They have a huge menu with tons of pizza options (you can build your own too), apps, and non-pizza food items. I highly recommend their jalapeno homies, pulled pork nachos, hummus plate, mozzarella bread stix, and literally any of their pizzas since there's SO many with a ton of different combos (all split up in either veggie, meat, or chicken sections). Drink-wise, I love their The Hooch (rum, lemon, mint & st. germain), espresso martini, and Pink Flamingo (tequila, pama, lime, soda & jalapeño). Everything is reasonably priced, too, and it's one of the more affordable restaurants in the city in my opinion. Ambiance was super nice. I was apart of a party of more than 10 people and we were situated in a nice little nook. The volume was lively, but not overly loud to the point that you had to yell to the people around you. Service was super efficient and fast and our waitress was the perfect amount of attentiveness. I got the chicken pesto sandwich and it was so good. It was juicy and flavorful, but the only downside was it was extremely oily. At the bottom of the tray was a pool of oil that leaked from the pesto. I just used a napkin to soak some of it up, but definitely was a bit unappealing.
