My 12 year old nephew and I are foodies, and We both agree that this place it's not worth it!!! The food is not the best. The first time We came, my nephew was serving himself some food and that you grab food and the waiter came began to serve him, giving him tiny portions. Not like he was getting a full plate. Good price for basic American Chinese fare. You can tell that they buy the bargain meats, like fatty beef and tough mussels, and there was a cheeto-looking crab thing that had fragments of crab shells in them. The servers were prompt with water refills, and there were fresh began and raw options if you have a specialty diet. We have been going to this restaurant for years and the last two times we were there the service was horrible! The waitress DEMANDED tip on the receipt and after she was told NO several times she started speaking in her language all mad at us (not knowing we always leave cash on the table), we just started laughing instead of getting mad, it was so unbelievably ridiculous and embarrassing. First off the buffet had dirty plates, I let them know and they were upset I pointed it out. The staff including the hostess was rude, everyone seemed hostile. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it smelled like cleaner yet the walls floors and toilet area were extremely dirty. September 23,2019 I met my son and his girlfriend here for lunch today. I was very impressed us as soon as I walked through the door it was large well lit and very clean. There are lots of seating both booths and table. I was surprised to see that the serving area had so many different options. My sons girlfriend Serina is from China. She said that most of dishes were foods that she would get back home. Everything I picked out was delicious. The shrimp was very nice and I like the little egg pancakes too. They were lots of cooked vegetables, And of course fried or sticky rice. I had no problem picking out selections that were very low on oil or salt. After we were done with our plates Serina brought a plate of fresh cut melon to us as a good digestive. And then we had gelatos from the self-serve . This is a great place for families to meet up for breakfast lunch or dinner I'm sure. And the three of us were able to get more than enough to eat for under $10 apiece. I think a important point to add here is that none of The food selections appeared to have been on the steam line for very long. The amount of people going through the lines making their selection insured that the kitchen staff would be bringing out fresh replacements at reasonable intervals. We left Happy with Happy Buffet ! We used to love this place for years but last night my parents & my younger sister had a bad experience there. First of all, all the food took forever to come out. The wings took about 30 minutes. They kept telling my mom it will take about 2 minutes. So she decided to wait standing . They saw her waiting and still kept telling her in 2 minutes. She ended up waiting 45 MINUTES, When they could of just been honest with her in the first place instead of telling her that. Anyways , I'm more upset because the waitress was so demanding with the tip. My parents have been struggling with money so after so long they decided to go there to have a nice dinner. My dad payed and wrote down the tip for the lady with what my dad could but the waitress kept telling my dad. "Tip , too little. Then she proceeded saying "More money " "or you can do cash " " it's 3 of you guys , it's a lot of you guys " unfortunately my parents don't know English but my younger sister does. This lady made my parents & little sister feel soo uncomfortable & upset. I called that same night & spoke to a lady named "kimmy". She told me to call tomorrow. Lobby area had a water thingy with little turtles inside... giant chandelier, etc. etc. Food was pretty decent in my opinion, for about $10/person for dinner. They don't have a huge selection of meats compared to other Chinese buffets I've been to, but of the ones they do have, they tasted pretty good. They also provide stir fried crabs, which had lots of meat, and was flavored nicely / not too salty. Salad selection is small, but there's a sushi bar with fresh made sushi and imitation crab hand rolls. I've been to quite a few Chinese buffets, and overall, this place is a little above average, but not one of the best I've had... and "Happy Buffet"? We needed to go to Riverside today and we were searching a place to eat. Read the reviews about this place thougt we'd like to give them a try. Well, one of Yelper said this place has 99% of Spanish customers, he/she was right, they were so populer, and we had to wait to get in; the regulars know where to find good food. First of all, we liked their plates were kept HOT unlike the other places they were cold and wet. 2nd of all, they filled up all other dishes except one. Food was flesh, a good sign! They would get 4 stars if they refill the crab legs; we were there for 2 hours and didn't get any. Have to say there food was not bad at all; many to choose from but we all like crab legs! This place is hidden for those of you that are looking for it. Just needed to find a closer buffet to satisfy my sushi on one plate, coconut shrimp on another type eatery place. Happy Buffet has a lot more food choices than my regular place. The price is eh. For just me it was $13 and change. The best part of the meal for me was the fact that as I was finally checking in while paying the bill, the cashier saw the restaurants name on my phone and asked about it. I have been coming here for over 2 years I take a group of adults with disabilities and they enjoy it too, but today we went and after being there an hour the waiter comes and tells us that we have been here too long and that his section is full and we have been here too long. There was three people with us and we were all pretty excited about this place because we heard they had crab legs. Crab legs were sitting in a bath of cold water. Noodles, chicken, rice were all cold. Tempted to report them to the health department. We tried to explain this to the lady who worked there and she was rude about it. Been here twice, and found it to be pretty good. It's a Chinese buffet, and they are all very similar. They have a very large dining room, with a lot of food choices. They seem to offer quite a bit of seafood items. They are also the first Chinese buffet I've been to that includes Frog legs! The fried rice and chow mein are a bit on the greasier side, but flavorful. The standard dishes are good, and they are the only buffet I've been to that has both egg rolls AND spring rolls. Both include real ingredients, not a mushed up paste like all the others have. They have a sushi bar, and while I didn't partake, my wife did and enjoyed it. We usually go to buffets on weekends, when they are more crowded, and the food is turned over quickly. The food here was your typical Chinese foods, and was fresh and warm. The fried foods tend to cool off a bit quicker. The desserts are the usual soft serve ice cream, fruits, cookies, puddings and jello. Both times we've gone, they were pretty busy, but the servers did a real good job of picking up our used dishes, and refilling our drinks. They have been friendly and always with a smile. If you are in the mood for a Chinese buffet, this will fit the bill, but like any buffet, don't expect gourmet food, just a variety of dishes that are pretty decent. read more

Honestly , I didn't see anything wrong with this place. It's really big inside. I went about (3:35pm on a Wednesday). They sat me down, reminded me of the different pricing for dinner time. Asked what I would like to drink, I told em. I went to get my food. The food was all fresh, hot, smelled good and tasted great. I went only for sea food because I'm pescatarian. They had a wide selection. By time I got back to my booth, my drink was waiting. They never bothered me or rushed me. Then again, there wasn't many people in the place at this time. People that worked there were eating the food on break as well. That was a good sign for me. So far so good, hopefully everything stays down. I wasn't too excited because I had hoped that if I wasn't paying for my own meal, then we'd be getting something other than a Chinese buffet, but I'm never one to complain about a free buffet. Or am I?!?!? One of the first things you notice walking in, is the rather diverse nature of the customers eating here. 99% Hispanic. I don't really mind, hell I'm the only non-Hispanic person at my work, but I was just a little shocked to see that there were wasn't much diversity here. The wait was reasonable considering it was a busy day. They also raised the prices by $3 a person for the holiday. Awesome. Now on to the food. I didn't have too much to each here, which if you know me, is a sign of the coming of the end. I had one plate of food and a few pieces of sushi. The sushi wasn't the worst I had at a Chinese buffet, but that's not saying much. The ice cream machine only had vanilla. Weak. None of the dishes were really that great and I saw the fruit being scooped out of cans. Amazing. The service was fairly good and the seafood was decent as well. I used to come to this place often, until they served rotten chow mien to my sister, this place gets a lot of business, there is no excuse to serve rotten chow mien. Half the workers speak little to no English. It's your typically Chinese buffet, the food isn't over the best but it's worth the price. This place is cheap so it was right up my alley. When I started eating here it wasn't the freshest or the best tasting but it was cheap and I got to eat a lot *thumb up* they have some variety like American / Mexican foods, churro, chicken wings, pizza just to list a few of the not Asian foods they serve. They have a lot of Asian foods to pick and choose from, however, choose carefully as not all of it is actually that good. Only a handful of things are worth mentioning here so I'll just list em off and give a very brief description of it: Roasted chicken, basically chicken in bbq sauce sweet n savory and juicy. Chicken on a stick, just as the name states chicken thigh fried on a stick with a light coating that is salty with a hint of sweet, my personal favorite these were always fresh and eaten fast. The fried rice was plain nothing special, the steamed rice was usually cooked well so no complaints there. They served rice noodles which is actually pretty darn good here compared to everything else. The chow mien here is always in question cause sometimes it has this off sour taste like its either rotten or about to go rotten, the time my sister got it fully rotten I could smell it as soon as she started eating, she didn't notice but I did. I have a very keen sense of smell and recognized the foul smell immediately, sadly I couldn't warn her before she got a mouthful. We paid our dues, walked out without making a scene and haven't been back since. They have okay wontons here but superb pot stickers, sometimes I would just eat a plate full of pot stickers and chicken sticks. They have a really good dipping sauce for the pot stickers too. Never gave the soups a chance but they have like 2-4 soups to chose from. Beef broccoli nothing special, orange chicken was okay little spicy, teriyaki chicken pretty bland but that was my sisters favorite so proof that everyone's taste buds vary. Pretty much everything else here was just mediocre. I've only had dinner once here they just change out a few lunch items for like crab legs and they bring out some pretty good shrimp. For me the dinner is so not worth the extra. This place isn't the cleanest, they keep the bathrooms in horrible conditions one time they were out of soap so I had to ask for some, another time there was vomit all over the floors. I once got a spoon with something caked on it like it hadn't been washed right and was sitting around in some sink dirty for like a week. All in all I would recommend NOT coming here. Yes the price is good but you get what you pay for. As much as I loved their fried chicken sticks and their pot stickers, I haven't gone back since the incident with my sister, which has now been almost a year. I might give it another chance to see if anything has changed over the past year but I sincerely doubt it. P.S. Nope, did not like it at all. The sushi bar was horrible. Some of the sushi rolls that had crab meat, the crab meat was actually super dry, when i ate it, sushi is suppose to be mushy not hard.
