50/50 that you either get sick or you don't. You probably need to have a strong stomach to enjoy this, since 3 of my party survived the meal whereas I suffered with a stomach ache/food poisoning. If you'd like, you can test your luck. Because you get the 50/50 chance risk with the low price of like $15 - 20 (I dont know, my friend paid for us all) I suspect it was plenty of the fried and cooked foods that are responsible for some of the reviewers' ache. We've been here multiple times and it's a good place for a buffet that offers lots of options. My parents go at least once a month. We drive about an hour to get there bc it's a place where it has fresh seafood items for a good price like no other near by ... This place is a buffet and expect all kinds of do's and don'ts like any "buffet". They have gloves on site for all to use if preferred. A nice affordable option for casual dining. The place is beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained. While it's not fine dining, the food is fresh and well prepared. The service was impeccable, the hostess and our waitress was very kind and attentive during our meal. We came for the lunch special! It was very good! Some of the items weren't hot but like lukewarm/cold which happens! It's okay! Everything else definitely made up for that! The inside is BEAUTIFUL!!! I walked in and saw a fountain and waiting area. I was greeted in the next room where everyone is dining. Huge selection of food, rows of seafood and different entrees. Dinner costs $21.99 per person while lunch a little cheaper. Huge dining area on both sides of the buffet stations. The guy was super nice to push the cart of food out to my car. Because it's Lent and it's Friday, we looked for a place that had seafood. Empire Buffet had a lot of offerings and lunch was only $17.99! Plus, seniors (65+) get 10% off! So, we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. Right from the start, it was a good experience. The hostess gave us a friendly greeting and sat us immediately. The food was good and our waitress was attentive in clearing our table of used dishes and filling our water glasses. We will definitely come back especially since we want to try their meat dishes. I decided to try this buffet because i was in the area with my boyfriend. The ambiance, when you first walk is in nice. But, what you could expect from a buffet with the typical koi fishes & all. Since COVID, buffets don't feel as sanitary as it used to, serving utensils should be swapped out more often or wiped down between uses. Honestly, I don't trust the oysters or any raw sushi here. I went today April 25,2026 and I personally like to use plastic forks or spoon for my toddler of 20 months, since I think it's easier for her. Anyways, so I asked if by any chance they had any and she said she did so I follow her and she gave me a fork and a spoon but not sealed wrapped, along with that there was white spoons in a cup container where she had these utensils. It was our first time here. We've made reservations for 18 people because we wanted an AYCE place after we've attended a graduation. It's a pretty good size restaurant, too. The service AND the food were amazing! The staff were very accommodating and nice! There were a good selection of seafood, meat, soup and veggies! They offered crab, lobster, crawfish, oysters, clams, mussels, really nice-looking sushi rolls, fresh sashimi, decent Chinese hot food; Mongolian beef, fried rice, noodles, orange chicken, honey chicken, beef and broccoli, fried tofu. A kid's area such as; fried chicken, French fries, pizza, chicken nuggets, sesame balls, malasadas (or fried doughnuts) soup station, a good salad area and a DIY Mongolian area. The customer service was very good, attentive workers and although those in the back kept coming back to the lobster station to grab the good pieces, (as I watched) All was fine, I have to give them kudos for the price we paid, the food and service. The restaurant is located in a somewhat ghost town kind of plaza. We waited about 15-20 minutes. The restaurant is somewhat clean. Food: The selection of food is pretty overwhelming. They have anything from sushi, hibachi, fried foods, salad/soup, pizza, Chinese entrees, to desserts! That being said, my biggest reason for the 3 stars is the quality of food. Don't get me wrong, some of the entrees are great while others lacked flavor, have TOO much flavor, are too chewy, etc. I do love that they are always restocking the food. My family and I were in the mood for sushi, so we stopped by here. This was my first, and sad to say, my last time here. The sushi was okay until I got to the raw salmon. It had bones still left and I had to spend two minutes carefully chewing the decent sized salmon chunk in mouth to remove the bones. I gave the place another chance by trying out the cooked fish, shrimp, and crawfish. It was all mediocre, no flavor, and obviously frozen. Here is my biggest pet peeve, all the serving stations are steaming hot. But the moment you sit down, the food is cold. I don't understand this, I really hope food is up to a safe temperature at these stations. I'm worried that the food is under temperature and these stations give you the impression that the food is hot. If you want sushi, go to a sushi spot.
