Happy buffet has definitely improved since my last visit. I stopped going years ago as before the restaurant was very dirty and unorganized but this time i went in things were very different. I'm not sure if it's under new ownerships or just went for a remodel but the place was way cleaner and nicer. The tables and booths look brand new and the hall way no longer looks messy and grimey. The food options are primarily the same if not better. They now offer oysters, crawfish, seafood boil, crab legs (even on weekdays) sushi and much more. Overall, the quality of the food was not bad but it was not perfect. The sushi wasn't the best quality and some of the food lacked flavor. But for the price the options are pretty extensive so i think it's fair. My favorites are probably the salt and pepper shrimp/crab as well as their soups. I will say the bathrooms are way better than before. They are actually clean but they do lack toilet seat covers. Our server was very nice and even brought our free balloons for my niece. Went there for dinner, price overall wasn't bad. It was $21 per adult with a wide variety of food. Like a buffet, nothing had any seasoning/flavor. Non of the waitresses had came to refill our waters or grab our plates. Only item worth eating for the price and flavor was the crab. When we asked for the check, the waitresses came by and handed it to me. And stood there for almost 2 minutes until we handed it back to her. I have eaten here a dozen times over the last couple of years. The service is always good. Those providing the service may not be the most talkative but, they are very attentive. When you get up from the table to go back to the buffet, your table will be cleared and cleaned by the time you return. They will offer multiple times to refill your drinks. What more could you really ask for at a buffet. I have never been disappointed in the quality or selection of items available. The fresh fruit, salad and seafood bar are exceptional. That alone is worth the price of admission. The hot and sour and the egg drop soup are both very good. Traditional items such as sautéed green beans, fried rice, chow mein and pot sticker are very good. They even have a limited selection of traditional sushi rolls that are a nice complement to the traditional Chinese dishes. The interior is pleasant and looks like a Chinese restaurant and not what you would expect in a strip mall. The booths have been recently reupholstered. In the past, the old booths would have been my only criticism. I have read the recent negative reviews and can say that they do not reflect my personal experience. I just went there for the first time and it was pretty dead, I soon found out why. The food selection was petty minimal, more like an Asian buffet than an American one, the one thing that was pretty good was the orange chicken, it was kinda hard but so was a lot of the food, it felt like it had been sitting out there for a few hours at least, luckily I don't feel sick after eating but the food didn't feel like it was hot enough on the serving table things, they were a little warm but I'm like" oh well let's try it anyways", the price it was me and someone else it was $49.xx so basically $25 per person since they charge for the drinks, the whole time we were there we didn't see a single thing get refilled or rotated out even when a try has one single rib left in it. I went here a few days with my friends before Christmas to try out some buffet food. And I gotta say, the food ain't that bad of how I remembered when I used to go here back in 2016. But some of their food that they have had many flaws and bland as heck. Not only that, their seafood such as crabs or whatnot was so salty lmao. Update: I went back the following Sunday. It was packed. They had fresh coconut shrimp and they had the calamari this time, which I was happy about. The pepper beef and broccoli beef were both great. Salt and pepper shrimp was good. I've been to several of these kinds of buffets and this one has kicked it up a notch compared to 10 years ago, you just have to know which items to get. I would give 0 starts if possible. Food and service is kinda okay but the ambiance is a shame since you walk in. It's a dirty they need to do some serious cleaning and maintenance. I got buttered shrimp cause well you can never go wrong, IT WAS SOGGY AS HECK! the only good thing there was the dumplings and broccoli. the selection of food was very minimal. We used to come here on the regular, way before Covid, and the food was decent. There was a good selection of food for families. I don't know WTF happened, but this place has gone to hell. The hot food is cold, it's sloppy and flavorless. The seafood is a gelatinous mess. I would not let my worst enemy eat here. They should be ashamed to call themselves a Chinese restaurant. I came to this buffet on a Saturday at 7 pm and it was pretty packed. However, we were seated pretty quickly. This buffet has a lot of selections including a salad bar and sushi section. For the price, I would have thought they would have had teppanyaki as well, but they did not. They did however Cajun seafood with shrimp, sausage, corn, and muscles, which is something that I've never seen at a buffet.
