The bread given as a little appetizer was SO GOOD

JDs mission steakhouse Riverside, CA Date went 6/19/26 Reservation originally made for a party of 8 Actual attendees from the party 7/8 Time of reservation 6:30pm We ordered our food at around 6:46pm and our food came to the table at about 7:31 and 7:40pm (about an 50 minute to an hour wait time). CUSTOMER SERVICE From front desk to our main waitress, all staff were friendly. I didn't quite catch our waitress's name which makes me sad because she was GREAT! She has her hair cut about shoulder length and her hair dyed red. My party asked for small things such as a side butter and parmesan cheese and she was so nice and accommodating about getting it. Additionally, she brought us out extra plates and knives for a birthday in our party. Towards the end, the live singer, the staff, and the entire restaurant ended up singing happy birthday to my grandma which made her cry. Without even asking for a dessert they also gave her a cookie with some ice cream on it and a candle. So, customer service at this location is 100% for sure 10/10. ATMOSPHERE The establishment was clean and cute, the bathrooms were clean, and everyone in the restaurant appeared to be running smoothly. The live singer was great, he sang songs from all different types of artists ( Weezer, RadioHead, John Mayer, Amy Winehouse etc.). FOOD PURCHASED The food in rating is the food I actually purchased and ate myself, my party split our check 3 ways. Sauteed Mushrooms Fresh whole mushrooms sauteéd in butter, wine & garlic. Served with garlic toast. - $14.99 Roasted Brussel Sprouts Drizzled with balsamic reduction topped with bacon crumbs. - $14.99 Ribeye 16oz 29-days dry-aged, cooked to your liking & served with your choice of two sides. - $52.99 Food Ratings: Sauteed Mushrooms: 8/10; I like the serving size of the sautéed mushrooms, but I love mushrooms so I wish the tray was slightly bigger. Just about everyone at my table had a bite and every single person thought they tasted good. I personally asked for a small tray of Parmesan cheese to add on top of it and it made the mushrooms even better. Brussel sprouts: 7/10; I love brussel sprouts, however, I feel like something was missing from this appetizer. The appetizer dish was huge which I am grateful for, however, balsamic reduction alone wasn't doing it. I just realized to that no bacon was topped with our dish when it was supposed to come with it. I'd suggest doing a rendition of this dish with an apple cider reduction, topped with basil, parsley & goat cheese. I ended up adding some salt, pepper, and a little of Parmesan cheese so I'd eat more of this appetizer. We didn't end up finishing this dish, didn't have much flavor going on :( Ribeye: 7.5/10; I love Ribeyes; they are my favorite cut of steak. We asked for it to be "Medium", and that request was executed perfectly. I had to ask for a side of butter because I personally like my steak with a little bit more flavor. So, if it already came with a side of butter or if it was cooked with butter and rosemary then this steak would've really popped! I would have rather my sides be two scoops of mash potatoes rather than getting the asparagus. Overall, the texture was great, size was good, and I got full. Overall - Customer service was 10/10, this includes the live singer they had for the night - Please give name tags I wish I could properly shoutout our waitress :( - The whole restaurant, staff, and live singer sang for my grandmother for her 79th birthday and it made her feel special and cry (in a good way) THANK YOU - Paper towel holder needs fixing in the bathroom - The bacon was forgotten on my brussel sprouts appetizer :( I'd prefer the mushroom appetizer over the brussel sprouts - If possible offer or give small trays of butter for steaks I'd come here if you want great customer service, good food, and a live performance. Thank you for making the experience memorable for my grandmother!

The thing about finding places on social Media is it is hit or miss. The post I saw made it look amazing. It is a basic restaurant. It's not a hidden gem. I ordered fish and chips. They were good. Nothing out of the ordinary. I did not order a drink as there was no bartender. It's in not the greatest location either. All around just basic. Also the menu is weirdly divided at the top whether it is for lunch or dinner. I've never seen that before.

This is a great place to enjoy a night out to celebrate with your loved ones. Our waiter was Oscar. He was the best. Very attentive and knew the menu. He was the perfect individual to service our birthday celebration. The entire team made the celebration wonderful. The food was cooked to perfection. The lamb steak was delicious. The New York steak perfection . For appetizers I would recommend the wings. The sauce comes separately and you place on the wings your discretion. Lemon pepper and buffalo . Either way, perfect. Thank you guys for always taking care of my family. You guys are awesome .

The food was SO DELICIOUS! The service was good. And the atmosphere was great. The mashed potatoes & corn was my favorite.

First time visiting this place, very quaint. The food was perfectly cooked as ordered, steak was very tender with great flavor. Asparagus was nice and crisp. The garlic mash was meh even with extra salt and pepper, it needs work. The onion rings are on point. Ambience was great while live guitar and piano player was playing. But then went silent when he stopped, y'all need a jukebox or something. Will definitely be back and try the brunch. Service was good too, very attentive.

Delicious steaks, quiet but very busy. The waiter was a really nice guy and very attentive. There's light music in the background, I just wish they sold more than jack and cokes. A nice bar would be great

The place felt a bit unkempt. It wasn't dirty but just felt as if there wasn't any love put into the dining areas. The service was good. Our server was attentive and very nice. We had a good time with her. The food was tasty for the most part. It needed a touch of salt and all the flavor was brought out. They had just gotten their liquor license which was a plus. However, they served my margarita with table salt instead of margarita salt, so that was slightly disappointing. The margarita itself was good, though, so that helped. Most of the food is served on wooden cutting boards. A nice niche for them, but they had obviously not had new ones is quite some time. So it made us a little uneasy about the cleanliness of those boards.

One thing I know about myself is I can't resist trying out new animals prepared in familiar ways. You can see it clearly whenever I see a new type of animal made into hash. Elk, venison, walleye, duck, &c...--just give me all the animals chopped up and placed atop diced or shredded potatoes. And you can also see it when places liked JD's makes cute animals into some kind of steak cut. I love it when we can make stuff into steak--just turn all the cute and convert it into cuts. That lamb t-bone was perfect. It was still juicy, still soft, and still gamey. It hit the spot in a way that a normal steak wouldn't have. It made me wish that lamb was made into t-bones on more menus. I'd seriously order that with great frequency. The garlic mashed potatoes and Chipotle Mac were good sides. They weren't anything special but I found myself still wishing seconds ordering was a thing. And the space was nice too. I can see why this is a popular Sunday Brunch meeting place and why everyone remarks how the service staff is super competent. I never had one problem not checking in with is enough.

This place was a perfect balance of being family friendly and a nice sit down steak house. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were also pretty good! Considering the quality of the meal, the pricing is definitely reasonable. My steak was flavorful and staff was friendly and attentive. We'll be back!

Oh my gosh I LOVED everything except fake mashed potatoes. I am coming back and hope to up this to a 5 star review. Steak (ribeye) was perfection! Drinks, atmosphere, and service were great. I prefer a family vibe over stuffy & uptight so the vibe was excellent. We weren't rushed. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly! Wedge salad was crisp, fresh and cold. I love a great wedge salad and they did not disappoint. Bruschetta appetizer was full of flavor and on crispy bread. So delicious! Please upgrade to fresh mashed potatoes!

The orange chicken, hibachi chicken, lo mein, -- the usual. Dont count on the vegetables like broccoli to be safe either, they wont do anything for your gut either. I wonder what's the quality of their cooking oil, since my friends said it might be the root cause of it all. We never encountered me sick at any place except this The sushi bar was alright. Nothing spectacular and delectible. You get the low quality of sushi for the price, after all. Im not sure if it contributed to the sick feeling but beware! For the garlic bread, fries, chicken nuggets, and just about other 'instant' looking food -- theyre probably instant and quickly cooked for service, really. That garlic bread had a spongey texture. Again, thats what I get for coming to a low budget place

Yes, it is open to the public, and the array of food is mind boggling, and just as good as any other good breakfast spot. It is located in the Commons which is located in the center of campus. It is easily found from the front entrance on Magnolia Street. Huge numbers of parking spaces are nearby. There is a large, lush, grassy, tree-lined area open for school events in the center, spaces for young children to run and play, and bathroom facilities aplenty. It has been a fairly well-kept secret until some TikTok'ers, You Tubers, and Instagrammers recently let the secret out that they are open to the public. Curious, we came around noon a few Sundays ago and the line out the door was overwhelming. Mind you, the line was made up of mostly non-students. For any late-rising students (those that live on campus), they got priority entrance because their meals are pre-paid, and many have nowhere else to eat, unless they have a car. It's only fair. So we left that day without eating and saved it for another Sunday when we could arrive earlier. They open at 9:30 am. Close around 2. Almost classy for a campus cafeteria, it is the main and largest of the several cafes and restaurant locations on campus. It has a sleek, modern look, is well maintained, and offers a broad selection of foods that is appealing and upscale. I had my eye on the carving center (tri tip available on this day) and custom omelet stations (there are two, one at each end), but there are so many more entrees and side dishes to choose from, including beverages and desserts. Grab a tray, take your time, and browse the many stations first before you start loading up. There is plenty for all. But if you walk away hungry, it's no ones fault but yours. This is also a place where students can get a respectable, part-time job on campus while "edjumacating" themselves. Better yet, it must be comforting as a parent knowing there is well prepared, healthy food available for feeding your son with a hollow leg. It is not the despicable, monotonous dorm food I had the misfortune to experience many decades ago (obviously not here). While very popular with students and public alike, there is a tremendous amount of seating for all, indoors and out. There are highchair and booster seats for the little ones. Very family friendly. Our bill for 2 seniors, 3 adults, and 2 children came to around $130, quite affordable when Grandma and Grandpa are treating. And everyone left satisfied.

This place is HUGE so I've never once had to wait for seating. You can get 2 bowls if you want, one for noodles and veggies and the other for the meats. Best of all, when you are done, you can get more! The weekday lunch price of $18.99 feels reasonable, but at $23.99, you have plenty of other buffet options with a much wider selection -- places like Paradise, Empire, or Hibachi, which also include a Mongolian grill station. A quick tip to really make your money worth it: grab two bowls -- one for meat and one for noodles and veggies. Load up on as much meat as you can because it shrinks significantly after cooking. Take as little noodles as possible since they'll fill you up fast. Most people can only finish one or two bows, so don't waste your money by piling on too many noodles.
