Impromptu lunch date and due to a little time crunch issue we couldn't go far from Queens and thus Hapisgah was recommended and was our choice! I like the iPad style menus they now offer and also loved that their menu, as diverse in cuisine as it was, didn't have a crazy amount of options to make your head spin. Clear winners were the tender baby chicken kabob, the super flavorful and juicy minced beef kabob and the addictive housemade hummus with sauteed onions and mushrooms generously seasoned with shawarma seasoning. The schnitzel had a nice crunchy bite to it and their cold salads were spot on too! Loved the tumeric laced pickled cabbage. Will definitely be back!

The first time I dined here was a few years ago, with Mommy and Hubby. This time we came back for a family event. We dined outside. They ordered dipped eggplant for the table and then we ordered entrees from the menu. I had chicken legs with couscous and vegetable, Mommy had a chicken kebab, and Hubby had Angel hair pasta with chicken and mushroom. I liked my chicken better than a kebab. Even Mommy liked my dish better too. Hubby's dish was ot, it's not Italian style cooking. The taste of the pasta was very different. The eggplant dip was one of the best!

Came on a late weekday afternoon to celebrate a co-worker's retirement. Place was relatively empty since it was in between lunch and dinner, but I heard it gets super packed in the evening with lines going out the door, so you better make a reservation if you plan on going for dinner! Service- excellent! We were greeted right away as we entered and our server was on top of things. He refilled our waters quickly and was always nearby if we needed something. They also gave us some dessert since we were there for a special occasion and helped us take some great photos. Food- most of us ordered the lunch special for our entree, which is such a great deal! I got the $15 chicken marsala dish, which came with a choice of 1 side (white rice, yellow rice, rosemary potatoes, or string beans & carrots). The food was plentiful as I was able to save a portion for lunch the next day. The chicken was super tender and flavorful. The sauce was a bit watery/light, but I enjoyed the dish overall. For appetizers, we got a mix of their 5 salads. SO DELICIOUS. I highly recommend it. The baba ganoush is great! Their menu (all on an iPad) is quite diverse, with a little something for everyone. Worth a visit if you're in the area or if you're looking for a decent kosher restaurant.

I went to Hapisgah to pick up take out. I was literally horrified. The managers are all running around maskless. The cooks behind the counter, literally breathing over all the multitude of salads they serve to their guests, maskless. Mask wearing is not enforced by its employees OR to its guests - many of whom were traipsing all around the restaurant maskless. It is literally a Petri dish and every night dining there, a potential super spreader. I felt like I walked into 2018. It's a shame. We'll never get the virus under control with establishments and mindsets like this and it just ruins it for the other restaurants trying to stay open and follow rules. SHAME SHAME SHAME. They had to unfortunately be reported to 311 and I would encourage others who dare to go and expose themselves to the Rona also call 311 and report them if this behavior continues.

The best steakhouse in queens, period! The selections of entrees are mind boggling, lets not even talk about the running chip lava cake too&@) The price is so worth it, atmosphere and staff are wonderful. I will be eating here at least a few times a month :)

I need to start off by saying i am not a fan of any Kosher restaurants in general. My daughter took me to Hapisgah for my birthday. My daughter is kosher and she knows I love steak. I found the service to be excellent and fast and friendly even know they were very crowded. Unfortunately for me you can not compare a place like Hapisgah to any traditional non Kosher steak house. The cuts and taste are different and I am not generally a fan. I had the house steak which I think was a New York rib eye?? and it was pretty good a bit fatty but good. I am more of a sirloin or porterhouse or filet mignon person all cuts which are not Kosher. The service was excellent and the food was better than expected considering it was Kosher. I really would not go back unless my daughter decided to take me there. As far as Kosher restaurants go it was excellent, But compared to other steak place non kosher of coarse it falls short. i give it 3 stars only because it was good and for kosher food i was happy.

Rib eye steak on the bone on the sizzling plate.

It had an oddly fishy taste when it should've been rich and buttery. It also lacked proper seasoning, so we ended up sending it back. For the entree, we ordered the dry aged porterhouse, priced at nearly $200. We asked for medium, but it came out well done, which was a letdown. The chimichurri didn't taste authentic, and while the signature steak sauce was fine, it wasn't anything memorable. We also ordered a side of bacon, which was decent but I've had better. The chili prawn noodles were another miss. It came with only four shrimp, wasn't spicy at all, and used spaghetti noodles, which felt off for the dish. The only real highlights were the creamed spinach and shishito peppers. Those were solid and you just can't go wrong with it. At best, I'd recommend coming here for the cocktails and the view. The food alone doesn't justify it. I added an extra star strictly because of the service. Shirley was excellent. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave great wine recommendations. Very accommodating and genuinely pleasant, which made the experience better overall.

I even received a rose for the occasion! However, we waited 10 minutes before someone finally approached us and asked, 'Is anyone helping you? Are you okay with tap water?' I understand it was a busy Valentine's Day weekend, but I expected a proper greeting rather than just being asked about tap water. When she brought the water, she asked if it was our first time. We said yes, expecting a brief explanation of the restaurant's concept. Instead, she just said, 'Technically, the meats will come to you, and you can go to the market and get anything you want. That's our special for tonight, you can go ahead and head over to the marketplace.' We went to the 'marketplace,' and it was delicious! We tried several items, and everything was tasty and fresh. Salads. Cold cuts. Rice. Beans. Zero complaints there. Back at the table, the gauchos began bringing the meats--filet mignon, picanha, sausage, bacon-wrapped steak, chicken, and lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service, however, stayed subpar. My mango caipirinha arrived five minutes later, but my husband's Coke never showed up. We waited all dinner for it and never received it. Our waitress only came back once because we flagged her down for water, and then again for the check. Even the tables around us were wondering where she was. This was extremely disappointing!!! Zero smiles or a nice tone from Her. The food was delicious (5 stars), but the service she provided was definitely 0 stars. I want to come back for the food, but the service is making me think twice.

But we are huge fans of the Peter Luger steak sauce & we had visitors, so why not visit this iconic steak house which is conveniently not located in NYC proper? We arrived a little early for dinner, so the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. They had us sit for a second at the bar lounge while a table was being assigned to us. The ambiance really plays up the heritage of the Peter Luger brand. We were seated towards the very back of the restaurant. I really liked the area since it was not too dimly lit. We started with the breads and wedge salad. I love carbs, and I liked that the breads were a little heavily seasoned. Caraway seeds are not for everyone, but they are for me. The butter was not very flavorful or soft, but I guess that's being too picky for free bread and butter before the meal. I chose the wedge salad because I knew I'd want crisp lettuce with my steak & also this salad comes topped with chopped bacon. The same thick bacon that people order on the side! It felt like a two-for-one dish. I enjoyed both the bacon and the lettuce smothered in blue cheese. The bacon really was nicely cured. We got the steak for two, which came on a sizzling plate precut. We did ask for medium-- not my preference-- because my guests didn't really enjoy eating meat not browned up all the way through. However, the steak came out closer to medium-rare. Initially, the plate was hot enough for us to try to sear the pieces. However, I found that the plate cooled much more quickly than I thought. The flavor of the meat was very prominent and the seasoning was well executed. Creamed spinach was a bit of a disappointment. It just didn't really taste like anything except a little muddy in aftertaste. The onion and tomato were nice, thick slices that helped cut through the richness of the steak. I did write on the reservation that my guests were celebrating a wedding anniversary, and they brought out some whipped cream and chocolate even though we declined dessert! Always such a lovely touch.

The ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable, decor was beautiful. It was more like a diner vibe than a steakhouse. I wouldn't come hear for an anniversary or birthday dinner. I finally decided to give it a try, and I regret not sticking with my original plan of getting Popeyes instead. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, but unfortunately the food did not live up to the service. The meal started with complimentary bread and butter. The butter was topped with olive oil and Black Sea salt, and it was actually very good. For my appetizer, I ordered the rock shrimp, followed by the rigatoni pasta. The rock shrimp was overly crispy, and the sauce had a flavor I couldn't quite identify. After just a few bites, my stomach started to feel unsettled. The rigatoni had potential, but the pasta itself was bland and the texture wasn't quite right. The spicy sauce wasn't evenly distributed, so I had to mix the entire dish just to get some flavor in each bite. I also waited about 30 minutes for my fruit punch. When it finally arrived, it tasted overly sweet, with a heavy syrup flavor that overpowered the fruit. Unfortunately, my stomach hurt for the rest of the evening while I was at the casino. While I appreciated the excellent customer service, I can't recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a quality meal.

I chose the medium, and the steak was exceptionally thick, with a perfect pink center. The tenderness and juiciness were astonishing. Even more impressive was the cocktail sauce paired with it; the tangy tomatoes and slightly zingy mustard perfectly cut through the richness of the steak. My parents chose well-done. Although the surface looked a bit charred, the meat was incredibly tender and juicy. To make well-done like this is a testament to their expertise since 1887. The portion was also huge; two single steaks were more than enough for three people. If you don't need to differentiate doneness, I recommend ordering Steak for 2 for even more meat. Luger's Sizzling Bacon, Extra Thick: Before even tasting the steak, the bacon had already blown me away. The bacon was perfectly salty, with a rich and direct aroma of smoke and fat. Because it was thick-cut, it had a thin, caramelized crust on the surface, while the inside remained soft and tender. Absolutely delicious! Table Bread: I've never seen such a large portion... even the three of us couldn't finish it for lunch the next day. The round one with scallions on top was the best; the bread was soft, and the aroma of scallions, salt, and butter was very strong. Next was the long one with fennel seeds on top; although a bit harder, it was salty enough and quite fragrant. The worst was the round one without any spices; the bread was coarse and very bland. The ambiance was old-money style, with a sense of occasion, very fitting for the restaurant's illustrious history. However, there was a lot of things to improve regarding the service . First, they didn't accept credit cards; second, it was difficult to get through by phone; third, one of our orders was forgotten; and fourth, the plate cracked from the heat when it was about to be served...

Overall, this was just a "mid" experience - reason being mainly the food. Our server was fine - he took our orders and successfully managed all of our drinks. However, he only checked on us twice and it took a bit of time to get his attention for the check. The other staffers that brought out our food, extra plates or silverware were attentive as needed. We definitely ordered a lot of food! However, each dish was underwhelming and not memorable. What would have been a nice dinner with family and friends, but the quality was just not there. And the other memorable dish was the organic mesclun salad. The tomatoes and goat cheese were really fresh, and the salad was not overly dressed. Noticed I didn't mention the steaks. Meh. Other appetizers we had: - Charred Spanish Octopus (a very busy dish, needed to be simpler)- Lobster Bisque with chunks of lobster meat, meatballs for the table, and baked clams (bread crumbs were good) For dinner/shared by all: - we ordered two orders of "Porterhouse for two" to share at each end of the table. It was cooked as ordered, medium rare but it was not well seasoned. And it was more rare then medium... Still good for leftovers but not how it should've been. - Prime Rib Chop (aka Fred Flintstone) which was a 35-day dry-aged long bone Tomahawk chop. It was quite the presentation but flavor profile totally a miss. I did wrap it to go to save the bone and to re-cook - Prime Filet Mignon - lightly seasoned and slightly over cooked - The Big Jack Burger, very decent burger and cooked perfectly as ordered. The fries were great - lightly salted and plenty of them. The sides were most disappointing this evening: -garlic mashed potatoes, see photo -creamed spinach, decent but not memorable -brussel sprouts with bacon bits, plenty of char We were disappointed in the overall taste and prep of the steaks.

A Birthday Dinner That Felt Like a Scene From a New York Movie…read more We chose Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse for my birthday dinner because we wanted something special--not just a good meal, but a real New York moment. And the moment we walked in, I thought, yes... this is exactly where a birthday should happen. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. The high ceilings, dramatic staircase, rich wood, elegant details, and huge dining room made everything feel grand and glamorous. It had the classic energy of an American steakhouse, but with a modern and luxurious New York style. Then I noticed the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows. Honestly, the glass was so perfectly clean that I almost forgot there was glass there at all. For a second, it felt like the entire city was simply open in front of us. I was strangely impressed by this because giant windows in a busy city are not always this spotless. But here, they were crystal clear, and the New York view became part of our dinner. We sat looking out at the city, ordered wine, and began my birthday celebration. Then, as if someone had carefully planned the scene, a sudden rain shower started outside. Perfect timing. There we were, sitting inside this beautiful restaurant, watching the rain fall over New York through the giant windows, drinking delicious wine, eating incredible food, and celebrating my birthday with my family. It felt less like dinner and more like a scene from a movie. The wine was wonderful, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The oysters were fresh and clean-tasting. The burrata was creamy, soft, and beautiful with the tomatoes. The warm bread arrived shiny with butter and was dangerously good--the kind of bread that makes you say, "I'm only having one," and then suddenly the basket is empty. The fish entrée was beautifully prepared, and the steak was exactly what I hoped for. It had a deeply seared, flavorful crust on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. This was not the kind of steak you quietly eat. This was the kind of steak that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a moment. That silence was the review. Everything tasted carefully prepared, and the ingredients felt fresh and high quality. There was not one disappointing dish on the table. At the end of dinner, they brought out a lovely birthday dessert with strawberries, pink cream, a candle, and a "Happy Birthday" chocolate decoration. It was sweet, pretty, and the perfect ending to the evening. The beautiful interior, the sparkling wine, the city view, the sudden rain, the excellent food, and my family celebrating together made the entire night unforgettable. I went there expecting a nice birthday dinner. Instead, I received a full New York birthday movie scene--with steak. I would absolutely return the next time I visit New York. Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse is a wonderful choice for a birthday, anniversary, romantic dinner, or any occasion when an ordinary meal simply is not enough.
