When the starting dat arrived, John's crew were here promptly at 8:00AM to start the job and arrived right on time EVERY DAY. His team was knowledgeable and professional, and at the end of each day totally cleaned up the area. The project took 3 weeks which was what John quoted at the beginning. But here we are--asking why my tub squeaks when stepped in, and why the tile outside of it also squeaks. These noises serve as a daily reminder of a job poorly done and a contractor's lack of skill and care. I have wrestled with the work Arcadii has done to my home and now see the full toll his lack of skill, professionalism, and care has taken. Lack of Care and Communication One of the most disappointing aspects of this project was how it was handled. After completely gutting my bathroom, Arcadii only then informed me of what he would NOT do--things I had requested from the beginning. These included: * Installing a shut-off valve in the basement * Properly venting the fan to the outside * Wrapping the tile around the bathroom, instead of just the tub area Had I known this earlier, I simply would have replaced the toilet myself and saved myself the trouble. Adding insult to injury, during this process I was dealing with herniated disks and sciatica, yet I was left to lift and dispose of a five-gallon bucket of water collecting from the tub pipe--for days. Carelessness and Poor Workmanship The carelessness didn't stop there. Here are just a few more examples of how this project was mishandled: * Toilet Installation: The new toilet ran constantly, requiring adjustment--which I did myself. Even more shockingly, the toilet was sealed with spray foam. When I checked from downstairs, I could see yellow foam protruding around the toilet and onto the floor. * Vent Cover: The vent cover was not replaced, nor was the prior one put back in place. Instead, I was left with an uncovered hole in my wall. * Vanity: The sink was not properly set on its base. The drain was sealed with caulk, which is not how it is designed to function. To make matters worse, the vanity drawer was rendered nearly useless when a large section of the back panel was sawed out unnecessarily. This exposed long, bent nails, which I had to request be repaired for safety reasons--especially for children using the drawer. * Baseboard and Caulk: The baseboard was left unpainted, and spaces requiring caulk were not fully sealed. Lack of Professionalism Beyond the poor workmanship, the lack of professionalism was evident. * He left a new replacement toilet in the parkway of my house and initially claimed he would dispose of it--only to laugh about it having water inside. * My Home Depot credit card, which he had in his possession to buy needed materials. Final Thought: A Pig with Lipstick You more than likely will end up with a project you would label as a pig with lipstick--an illusion of a finished job masking glaring problems. The care for your home, and the wealth you intended to build within it, will be diminished. If you value integrity, quality workmanship, and someone who does what is right--even when no one is watching--this is NOT the contractor for you.

ARNA Remodeling We…read morehired ARNA Remodeling to repair/replace the drywall in our basement,paint the entire room, replace the ceiling and to install new vinyl plank flooring. We also had them remodel the staircase. The results of this remodeling was fantastic. Arcadii and his partner from ARNA Remodeling were very polite and punctual. They kept the typical construction mess to a minimum and completed the job in a timely fashion. I have already requested additional quotes from ARNA Remodeling that we would like to tackle in the spring. I highly recommend them.

We hated the drip, drip, drip of precious water. Danny fixed it in one short visit! Another plumber told us his repair was very involved with expensive custom parts, a building water shutoff, and with the daunting words, "it won't be cheap". Danny saved us from all of that. We will always go with Danny as our first choice. PS. He also repaired a loose bathroom tile, after fixing the shower.

I came across John and his team at Chicago Home Re/Vision after months thinking about a bathroom remodel and was close to giving up on finding a contractor. I'm glad that I didn't give up because (1) John responded within a day of outreach to come out and assess -- providing me a breath of fresh air, hope, and vigor for this project -- and (2) the final result was beyond my wildest dreams. From initial contact to end, John and his team were professional, communicative, flexible, and an absolute delight to work with. Prior to the project, John provided me a lot of advice on materials, aesthetics, and timeline -- which helped me mitigate some of the risks and what-ifs. Seriously, I wouldn't have installed a half shower door had he not advised that (1) it would be easier to install than a full shower door -- not that it would be a problem for me -- but as a result it would be easier to maintain, (2) it would look great with the vision I was going for, and (3) that it would be functional despite my first reaction. I had many travel plans during the summer, which made it difficult for me to say when exactly we could get started, however, Chicago Home Re/Vision was able to be flexible and accommodate a delayed start date. At every juncture of the project, John provided me many choices to make which helped me feel like I was an active participant in creating the end product and made sure that I would not be surprised by anything. The end result is so very impressive -- I some times do not believe that this is the same bathroom. They did such an amazing job. It is even more impressive when I say that their timeline and budget was exactly in line with their initial quotes, which were already incredibly fair. John and his team at Chicago Home Re/Vision have set a new high standard of what I expect from my contractors. I can promise you that I be will be reaching out to them first for any future projects. Bill was very polite, called me over the weekend to set up the time and said he'd go to the jobsite to get his guys started and then come and meet with me. He just sent me a text message (not even dignified enough to call) at 8:30pm the night before saying "We are currently too busy to take on any new jobs until September. Call me early summer." Bill is what gives contractors a bad name. Sure he might do good work, but he does not respect people's time and schedules. A simple, "Sorry, would love to help you, but we are booked through September" would have done fine at the first call. Terrible customer service and I imagine this speaks to how you might be treated as a client if he did manage to get in your door.

The house is close to 80 years old with some interesting wiring configurations and i can easily see some others either giving up or resorting to the more extreme possible causes (taking out part of a wall or replacing a whole fusebox), but he patiently, methodically, and thoroughly went through it and found the problem. Somewhere I definitely never would have guesses considering nothing had been plugged into that outlet for at least a year. Highly, highly recommend if you want someone who will make sure to leave no stone unturned before resorting to high-ticket guesses.
