Almost the same experience as the person below me. I ordered boiled crabs and it was like they reboiled them in plain water. I bring them back and they tell me my tastebuds are off. Huh? this is our favorite place it used to be more locations opened. everytime we come the food is sooo good but the service is HORRIBLE. mean employees that don't even fake it. we are actually servers but shouldn't have to broadcast that to be treated kindly. they are rude here with no smile . the manager asked the server if she wanted to take us and she said no. manager made smart remarks about closing. you can't treat people like they are stupid and talk condecending. Really cute local spot. Close to my family's house. The atmosphere is cool and laid back. Fun place for a drink and to watch the games. The food is good but sometimes not consistent. Consistency is really important for me. The shrimp Alfredo is awesome. The chargrilled oysters are really good, but the boiled shrimp sometimes come out robbery like as if they were frozen but the seasoning is really good on them just not the skin sticking to the shrimp or the shrimp being rubbery but I keep going back because overall pretty good spot for the area. read more

Good spot with good food. Parking can be an issue. We went late on a Sunday and parking was limited then. The rice is a signature dish but it is a lot two or more folks can eat the rice. My friends and I love this place because the crawfish are always really good. BUT NOT TODAY!!! Today, 3/28/24, the crawfish were flavorless and tasteless. A literal spicy hot mess.. They were a nice size, but had no flavor. It's apparent that the boil wasn't prepared correctly. . The fried shrimp were overcooked and also had no seasoning. We spent about $200- no alcohol - and left underwhelmed and disappointed. I need a do over. They must have a new chef this season. . read more

Wait staff has gotten worse and worse. I don't come as much I use to because of it. Drive thru once told me to come back another time cause he didn't have time to take my order. Today 7-5-2021. I was on hold for 20 mins to place a to go order. I arrive at the restaurant before they came back to the phone. Once I get to the window she answers not knowing it's me and puts me on hold again. This review is hard for me due to I've always had great food and service until lastnight. Got there at 8 which we live across in Richmond to have poor service. They supposedly were out of crawfish which shocked me. Ok we did the snow crab. It was good but our server besides a bad day she didn't bring utensils, more beverages, or a smile. My mom and I definitely came at a wrong time. Apparently yesterday (Friday July 3) they had "fresh" crawfish, which I highly doubt and they said they ran out. Hence the frozen. Service Incredibly awful. We had a woman who never paid attention to us, even though we were the only customers there since it was July 4. Seriously? She didn't even refill or our waters. She kept talking to the bartenders and it was freaking annoying. Her back was literally towards us. My mom kept telling me that if there were any comment cards, she would write the hell out of that. We also ordered Cajun fries which we never received. Literally after 40 minutes and after receiving our check, we told her and realized she forgot. Unacceptable. Thank goodness she didn't put it in our bill. Seriously. We were literally her only customers. How can you overlook something like that?! It's fries for goodness sake. Food It's frozen. What do you expect? Mushy, squishy, overcooked. Need I say more? It wasn't even good enough to say that it's mediocre. We didn't bother finishing the 2lbs. There was literally a lot left. Crawfish season in Houston is and has been in full swing so we have many places to choose from. This was my first time at this location and i must say it was a mix of emotions.... i loved that there was not a long wait, i hated that we sat for 10 min without ANYONE directing a single courtesy as to even say, "we will be right with you or anything." i mean they were coming to tables around us.... so i don't get it. i had to get up and ask the hostes if we were getting any service today.... LOVED the food!!! Crawfish were big, juicy, greatly seasoned, and overall, well served! One of my favorite crawfish spot in H town. They have really fresh crawfish boiled in the aroma flavorful broth so it turns out really awesome not like other Asian Cajun places usually boiling the crawfish in bland water and then toss them with tons of oil sauce and seasoning outside the shells. This restaurant is more Cajun/Creole authentic by the way they boil their seafood also the menu options. They have such a wonderful gumbo with garlic breads, tasty boudin links and many more good dishes such as etouffee served w perfect dirty rice.. I do appreciate their good food. He answered any and every question we had. We went with the steak fingers and fry basket. The boys had popcorn shrimp, and I order the snow crab. Now the snow crab was pricey- $25 lb... which wouldn't be such a big deal, but they were no big and succulent for that price! I opted for the hanks sauce, extra spicy. It was only okay... it was EXTREMELY spicy. So if you can't handle the heat- do not get extra spicy! Lol. The downfall for me was that it was flavorless... like no flavor at all. Not a hint of garlic- seasoning, nothing. Now, they do have seasoning out on the table that you're free to add, but that's it. Nonetheless, I'm not eager to go back anytime soon! I wanted mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. They dont have them anymore. OK lets go with sauteed crab fingers. Tasted old, tough and fishy. I asked for lemons for my iced tea no less than 4 times. My friends Sprite was just carbonated water. That took 30 minutes to correct. I ordered a fried red snapper filet a la cart. Fried to the consistency of tough, dry grilled chicken and no seasoning whatsoever. I had the crab and shrimp boil. Head on shrimp not cleaned. Just disgusting. My husband is addicted to Hanks Crawfish!! He won't go anywhere else for his "mud bugs"! The seasoning is very spicy so beware. I got mine mild and they were plenty spicy for me. Yesterday, our family of 7 attempted to have dinner at Hanks on Hwy 6. The general manager, approached us at the hostess stand stating there would be a 45 minute wait for us. Within plain sight there was a table large enough to fit us all so we asked if we could sit there. He said we could but if we sat down and it didn't work we would not be able to relocate anywhere else. We all fit comfortably at the table. He then came to the table rudely stating," Let me tell you upfront, there is only one check and the gratuity will be added to the bill". The way he was speaking to us was truly demeaning and had us all questioning, what did we do to be awarded this horrible service? Sadly, we all knew we were being racially stereotyped. I have NEVER had to deal with such disrespect and embarrassment in a restaurant establishment with our children present. No one should ever be treated the way we were treated no matter what color we were. I will never step foot in Hanks ever again! This place seemed to grow on me after a few visits. The prices are good and the food seems to be spot on. Not to mention it feels like you're not in Houston let alone on hwy 6. (Unless you sit outside.) Its a bit of a hole in the wall type place and you can drive right by it because there are only 3 parking spaces out front with the rest of the parking behind the building. They have good daily specials as well as happy hour specials. For those of you who eat little to no crawfish, (Like myself) dont worry, there are plenty of other things to eat here. The reason I didnt enter a perfect 5 is that sometimes it gets too crowded and other times service can be spotty. We were told the wait was 45 minutes to an hour for a table of (7). We happily waited our time, when the hour had arrived, we asked the Hostess if we could be seated. We were informed that we had to wait another 45 minutes to an hour for another table to clear to be seated and served. While I understand Valentine's Day at 5 pm was a busy time, I didn't understand why they sat smaller parties at tables that could have accommodated us. When brought to the attention of Mr. Supreme, we were told we would not be sat because they were short staffed and apparently the information provided by (2) of the Hostesses was relayed incorrectly. When we I informed Mr. Butler, I was disappointed in his service, he responded very rudely and loud, "I don't care if you write a bad review or report me, even followed us out of the door yelling his full name. I have heard nothing but great things about the food here at this location, which is why we drove out of our way patronize this location. I have never felt so embarrassed and threatened by management at a restaurant. I can't support a business that is not Houston strong. I called in on March 16 to see if they would be showing the university of Houston versus Iowa State men's basketball game. Me and 15 of my friends were wanting to go sit and eat some good food and watch the game. I was told that they couldn't promise me that they would be able to change the channel to the game. Supposedly, this is what the Manager said, when I asked if the associate if they could ask their management. I decided not to go. A few of my of my friends went because they felt when they got there someone would agree to putting at least one tv on the game.
