Hang Over Easy's menu and ambience is full of double entendres that lean toward the adult side; like the HOE potatoes, one night stand etc. A bit gimmicky, I would prefer a clearer definition of what I'm about to eat. There is a drink menu full of delicious adult beverages, but our server said it is currently unavailable. Coffee was delicious, but they offer no real dairy which is a bummer. Be careful because hazelnut looks just like the regular creamer. Both meals we tried were delicious. Fluffy biscuits were served with chorizo gravy that was balanced and not overpowering. The corned beef has was made in house with a delicious blend of seasonings, a dash of crème fresh and garnish with red pickled onions. Oddly served with one slice of toast for such a hearty meal. Both meals were so generous that I left with carry out boxes. Service seems a little spotty but they just opened. The busboy was definitely hopping; great job! So many good things on the menu here. Some unique twists on some old favorites. My go-to is the Smothered and Covered. Fried Chicken, biscuits and gravy with eggs your way. The food has amazing flavor. Seasoned really well. Service is always great. The staff always does a great job. They make you feel welcome and are very attentive. It has that traditional diner feel to the inside and you can sit at counter, table or booth. This is a locally owned family restaurant. We ordered the Sloppy Seconds and the Struggling To Get Up / they were both delicious but the main reason I'm leaving a review is because the buttermilk pancakes are THE BEST PANCAKES I've had since I was a child. This is my second try of Hang Over Easy. I went to lunch with friends and this time was breakfast with friends. I want to be wowed by their food because it all looks so good!! The Reuben I had the first time was definitely better than their avocado toast this time. Sadly, the avocado toast had the smallest smear of avocado I've ever had on this dish. So odd. They spread it almost like butter. So little flavor that way and just not worth the price. The chicken and waffles looked amazing and I was told it was. My husband and I stumbled upon Hang Over Easy as we were driving through Levi Commons looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. The time was a little after 2pm and they close at 3pm daily. We decided to give it a try and OMG the food was excellent. All of the ingredients in all of the dishes were so fresh. They have the best Western Omelet I've ever had. The biscuits were so good. went back to have breakfast this morning. was sat next to the windows which is fine, however, they have no shades so my husband faced the sun the entire breakfast. not a big deal, but if you go ask for a different seat. I ordered the oatmeal pancakes again, and my hubby ordered eggs with extra crispy bacon. my pancakes were rock hard, burnt and the syrup was cold again, not to mention they put about 1 tablespoon of syrup in the little container. I also asked for butter when ordering, but didn't get any. I couldn't eat them so i sent them back and skipped breakfast. hubby had half cooked bacon, dry english muffin. no butter, no jam, nothing. the waitress was sweet, but being in the middle of the row of tables it was difficult for her to get to us, so we couldn't ask for anything or get her attention. expensive coffee when you can't even get a refill. there was another waitress right next to us that could see i wasn't going to eat the pancakes as my silverware was resting on top and pushed to the side, and could see we were having issues. if its not your waitress? don't expect any help from anyone else. our waitress came around, asked about the pancakes and said she would have them take it off the bill. this was only because the table next to us had employees (off shift) eating, and heard us talking about the pancakes. the waitress came back with the bill and stated she talked to the owner, and he was going to talk to the cooks. a better response, even though it was busy, would have been for the owner to come to the table with an apology or explanation. tbh i felt he should have comped the entire meal with the issues we had. until this place is past its new phase and growing pains, i would steer clear unless you don't mind sending food back. i never have a restaurant re-do my food, but that's just me. read more
