AMAZING food! Our friend recommended it and we are so glad she did! We took our 3 kids for breakfast and were so impressed by the food and service. Due to covid, we ordered online before leaving our rental house. While it def seems a little expensive initially (for take out breakfast) it was absolutely worth it ! My husband had the steak burrito, I had the breakfast sandwich on sourdough, our kids had the silver dollar pancakes, side of bacon and a chocolate chip muffin. We ordered their fresh squeezed OJ too and we were all fighting over the last couple sips. We grabbed a few bags of their whole coffee beans to take home for us and our neighbor too. I also really appreciated their compostable bamboo? Silverware, napkins and coffee cup tops. I love when businesses make the effort to be more eco friendly While no planes took off or landed during our breakfast , it was so fun to sit and look at the planes. One was in the driveway being worked on so we were able to get up close to see it. Next time we are here we will be back for sure! read more

Hands down the RUDEST man works here! I made the mistake of walking after a 10 mile bike ride in and asking for change so I could buy water for my kids from a vending machine on the first level. (The tiny diner-esque restaurant is on the second floor). I walked in to the tiny establishment and saw a refridgerated case with beverages in it. I figured I'd patronize the establishment to purchase my water instead and I opened the case and heard, "ma'am, we'll help you!". I quickly apologized for my inadvertant violation. Then a tall blonde man from the kitchen stormed out and tersely told me "We are a restuarant. we DON'T do take out!". I apologized and said I didn't mean to offend and he stormed to the case and barked "what do you want?". If I wasn't procuring water for my thirsty kids I would have left. I asked for 2 bottles of water. Small Fiji water is all they had. "$7" he growled. I said I'd take one (they were $1.50 from the vending machine!) instead. "We ARE are a RESTAURANT. We DON'T do take out!". He took my my money and with anger and snorted as he gave me my change. Because of his rude and caustic behavior I will NEVER patronize that establisment and happy to warn people that human decency is clearly not on the menu here. read more

Title: You never get a second chance to make a first impression, or: don't waste your time at Hanger B. I had heard some good things about this place, and love aviation but my first impression of this place had me pulling the ripcord and bailing out FAST. Me and my ten year old daughter wandered in about 215 pm one day as we checked out the flight deck and services offered. I like the outdoor seating and envisioned a cold one as we saw the skydivers float down. But, heck no, there was a reputation to be had. I walked in, and the place was in clean up mode. I politely asked if I could purchase a coke and cup of ice. Everyone stared, but the tall chef/owner/cook said sarcastically "yeah, I guess I could stop what I'm doing". I protested, if you're closed or busy I understand. He remarked again about being open 7-2, but put a coke on the table. Cost three bucks he smirked, thinking he had pulled one over on the tourist with his kid. It's all about attitude people. If you're closed, say so. If your hours are firm, say so with a smile, not a sarcastic quip intent on belittling the tourists. I'm a grown up, give it me straight, but don't sass me AND rip me off. Maybe this gent thinks that makes him cool, to be surly to the tourists (and show off for the other kitchen staff), maybe it makes the restaurant more interesting to the locals if you scare away the visitors. Keep the cook in the kitchen, and put a professional at the front. You're scaring away customers, people. read more

Simple menu, simple surroundings, fresh breakfast and all of it done pretty well. Visit Cape once per year and always look forward to our stop at Hangar B. It's usually very busy and the simple fact is one usually must wait to be seated, as it's on the smaller side but it's always a treat. I'm a simple bacon and eggs guy but menu has a lot to please most everyone. Will be back again. read more

Great breakfast! Get there early in the Summer. The home fries are to die for and the red flannel hash is a favorite. Bring your appetite as the quantities are large. read more

Wow, our experience was much different from that of many of the other Yelp reviewers. Very disappointing experience at Hanger B. In a nutshell - weak food, overpriced, small portions and an arrogant chef. My wife had waffles with fresh fruit which were adequate. We typically don't judge restaurants by portion size; quality is much more important. Still, we were looking at one smallish waffle covered with berries. I ordered a special from the board - a roasted tomato, aged cheddar and arugula omelet. Two hard arugula stems were in the omelet along with one thick slice of roasted tomato and an ample amount of cheddar. Maybe there were two eggs used...if that. The omelet was tiny and the tomato was cold. Otherwise, the dish was seasoned properly. My kids each had silver dollar pancakes. My eight year old said, "there is more sugared powder on this plate than pancakes." the portion was tiny, even for my six year old. I tasted the pancakes they were sub-optimal...really! How hard is it to make pancakes? We asked if my son could have chocolate chips in his pancakes. Due to the layout of the restaurant, the chef is out in the open and visible to the patrons. When the waiter relayed my request for the chocolate chips, the chef was noticeably irritated and said, "they're not on the menu. No." The restaurant serves chocolate chip muffins baked on the premises so while I can't swear they had chips in stock it certainly seemed like the decline was more of a matter of principle than practicality. Regardless of the chip incident I'd still give Hanger B a low rating. Our tab came to $55 which, for reasonable sized portions would have been acceptable. The decor and location may appeal to some but there are far better breakfasts on the Cape. read more

The best breakfast in Chatham. The chef/owner spent time in northern California mastering fresh-picked-to-table recipes and it shows in the ingredients and the combinations. The veggie benedict is a standout and you won't go wrong starting your with a plate of the fresh-baked pastries and muffins. Go early! The lines are long once the morning gets going. At least the kids will have a fun view of the airfield while you wait. read more

O....M....Geez. Hangar B's may have just served me the best breakfast i've ever had. not to build it up or anything- but HOLY SMOKES it was INSANELY good. (are my capital letters conveying my exuberance?!) everything is local, organic and made from scratch. the chef was awesome. he even came over and gabbed with us! sure, it seems a little spendy when you sit down... but the second you're eating it... you think "i need this every day of my life" and "why isn't this guy on Top Chef?" we had: -pilot's breakfast (no complaints, but pretty standard breakfast fare- eggs, toast, hashbrowns, toast) $9 -lemon ricotta pancakes (INCREDIBLY light, fluffy, wonderful mix of flavors) $10 -french toast (on brioche sent from angels above) $12 - red flannel hash (blew my socks off with awesomeness- beets, sweet potatoes, yukon potatoes, poached eggs*, horseradish creme fraiche) $12 *most perfect poached egg i've ever had i am seriously contemplating driving the 2 hours just for breakfast. read more

Hangar B was the shining culinary star on a trip that my husband & I took to Chatham this past December. We were staying at the Chatham Bars Inn, whose fancy dining room dinner had severely disappointed the previous night. Suffice it to say- we wanted something GOOD for breakfast. I found Hangar B right here on Yelp and we went on a Saturday morning. First of all, getting there is a bit of an adventure, which makes it kind of cool right off the bat. Service was great- we were a bit obsessed with watching how the staff (all family, from what I could tell) interacted in such a tiny environment. The chef was constantly moving but still took the time to yell out "How is it?" to everyone as they ate their meals. Yes, it's not really "normal" to have the chef out in the open and close enough to watch you react to your meal, but it seemed to be an indicator that they were proud of what they were serving. As for the complaints about the chef being 'arrogant' or not liking special requests... well, after seeing that he's a one-man show behind the counter, working in the tiniest of space with such efficiency- he's worthy of a little arrogance! The food- oh the food. I had the chocolate bread pudding french toast. Absolute heaven in every way. Husband got the lemon ricotta pancakes and I think we fought over whose breakfast was better. Their homemade jams were killer, and getting to try 3 different kinds was a real treat. And being sent off with a homemade donut for later was just a great cap to a great meal. We got a chance to chat with the chef before leaving, and he even gave us a recommendation on where to go for dinner that night (knowing we'd been disappointed the night before)- which was very appreciated and we definitely followed his advice. But our breakfast was so good that it wasn't even a question that we were coming back the next day. This time, the husband got the french toast and I got the red flannel hash. Admittedly, the hash to me wasn't QUITE as good as the french toast, but it was still really yummy! This time, we took home jars of their jam and are using it sparingly until we have a chance to go get more down in Chatham. Can't wait to visit again. read more

When I told my wife and daughter that we were headed to the airport for lunch, they both looked at each other like I was crazy. This is the beauty of Yelp. As a Yelper, I saw reviews for The Hangar B Eatery and was confident that this would be a good choice for lunch. I am happy to say it was! I had the Poached Eggs with Red Flannel Hash, wifey had the Spicy Pork Tacos and my daughter had a burger on Brioche with baby Arugala and chilled, broiled tomatoes. The food was better than good, it was great. It's quality transcended the odd location and the location (btw) was pretty darn cool. Great Job Hangar B, we will see you soon, Thank You! read more

EAT HERE! We flew into Chatham for a wedding and had to depart early Sunday morning. Homemade baked goods, delicious coffee, and the employees are SO NICE. Special shout-out to Jose who went above and beyond to help me out with some early morning coffee. Can't wait to come back and eat here again soon. Highly recommend! read more

I absolutely love the potato donuts and blueberry muffins and the owner is so nice and accommodating...

I was super-excited to try this place, which had somehow escaped us on prior trips to Chatham. It's charming, with a fun airport view. Unfortunately, we found the food disappointing. We had French toast, waffles, and fish tacos. There were great-sounding specials too. It sounds great, but everything is very heavy. And the service, at 1p, was incredibly slow. We'll go back, it's no bad, it just isn't as good the other reviews made us think it would be. read more

My husband and I are visiting Chatham, and today went to Hangar B specifically because of the great Yelp reviews. Many people said there were long waits but well worth it, but we do not agree. Wait was very long (told 30 mins, which was fine, but was closer to 50. Would not have stayed if we knew that from the outset, but by the time so much time has gone by you're invested in staying.) It does seem like seating for two was slower than seating for larger groups b/c they don't have smaller tables (someone else mentioned this and I'd agree). Anyway, servers were friendly enough, but harried, and service not great. Food was only adequate. I got the much vaunted lemon ricotta pancakes, and they were good, but I certainly would not rave about them. My husband's home fries had a bunch of burned pieces in them. Eggs were OK, but just. Bacon was overcooked. Bottom line: NOT worth the wait! There are too many other breakfast places around here, and I'd encourage folks to try something else. read more

We arrived last Saturday @ 1.20pm and as soon as we walked up the stairs, a waitress came over and said they wouldn't be seating anyone else because the place closes @ 2.00pm and they had customers ahead of us- I've never, ever been to a restaurant that didn't seat you because they were closing in 40 minutes but based on what I've read here about the chef's arrogant behavior, I"m now not surprised. It's too bad because we had heard good things about the food and we were looking forward to reviewing it for our website. read more

Sadly the best word to describe this place is - Overrated. Service was horrible!!! This is not our waitress. They are significantly ineffective in the kitchen. They need to divert some of the wait staff towards helping in the kitchen. That ratio of wait staff to kitchen staff seemed completely off. We waited for an hour to get seated and then another 45 mins after ordering our food. It's just breakfast!! How long does it take to cook eggs!! For a total of almost 2 hrs before we got our food....I don't think the food was worth it. Time is money and we definitely spent a lot of it here! They didn't even have the common sense to prioritize working on our kids meals before others. We had to ask for maple syrup after they brought in the French toast and pancakes!! Wow! Should one really have to ask for this? Basics!!! Huevos Rancheros was good. read more

I waffled* between 4 and 5 stars for this one because there are some things to consider (as outlined below), but ultimately I am left feeling that this was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time, worth the (long) wait and the (pricey) cost. Five stars it is. Tip #1: IF YOU GO ON A WEEKEND, EXPECT TO WAIT, and don't expect their wait time estimate to be correct. It's a very small place so the turnover is a little random. We, a group of 10, arrived at 12:15pm on a Sunday and were told it would be 45 minutes. I said we could certainly be seated in two groups and she said they would probably have to do that anyway since they don't have large enough tables. The 45 minute wait ended up being an hour and a half. We ordered coffee which they brought down to the picnic tables for us, and either it was complementary during the wait or they forgot to charge us for it, but either way we weren't going to question it. I was a little miffed about the wait time but that slowly dissipated as I saw they had pulled two tables together for our large group, that they were almost immediately ready to take our order knowing how long we had waited, and that we didn't have to ask them to split it into two checks. We didn't, but I recommend bringing games. Cards, bocce, whatever. Make a date of it. Tip #2: EXPECT TO PAY A GOOD BIT. The best dishes here are around $14/$15, and coffee is $3.50, so this isn't cheap food. Tip #3: EXPECT FLURRIED, FRIENDLY SERVICE. My friend who has been here many times says that the head chef can be a (angry) character at times, but we didn't see it, and everyone else was super friendly. They are busy, though, so don't expect lingering conversations. Tip #4: DON'T EXPECT TO EAT THERE IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 1:15pm on a weekend. They took down the open sign around that time and said a few minutes later that they were done taking names, there had been that long a wait list all day. They did end up allowing a few more groups up until about 1:30pm, but we saw a woman come about 10 minutes later and get pissed they couldn't get seated. She gave the hostess some serious attitude and stormed out, and we commiserated the hostess who didn't really know what to say. Poor girl! Tip #5: EXPECT TO EAT ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS FOOD. I'm a bit of a pancake snob, but the lemon ricotta pancakes were some of the best I've had in my life. Three huge ones with super fresh fruit and real maple syrup were WELL worth the wait and the $14. For real. The hash and French toast were also excellent, and my friends who ate the pilots breakfast, Benedict, and breakfast sandwiches all looked super happy. I would go back here in a second. I think as long as you heed the tips above and know what to expect, you'll love it. * pun intended. read more

This place is amazing!! I had the brioche french toast and it was just about as delicious as you can get. My mom had the lemon ricotta pancakes- they were light and fluffy! We shared the red flannel hash with the creme fraiche and that was the absolute winner- best thing I have ever had for breakfast. Will definitely be coming back :) Update: been to Hangar B a couple more times... Besides the long wait to get in (go early!!), the food is still awesome! read more

Excellent! Quaint and homey atmosphere, right on top of the airport so you can see the small planes take off. They offer to serve coffee for while you wait... everyone should do this if you ask me, it's such a nice touch. Pricey $3.50 cup of coffee, but we had plenty of refills. Lemon ricotta pancakes... here we gooo! Fluffy, flavorful and stacked high. These were absolutely incredible! Topped with giant black berries, blue berries and strawberries, very fresh. Then add real Vermont Maple syrup, I almost died. These pancakes were just so so good. More like a dessert than a breakfast, but it's fun to splurge now and again. I'd easily come back for these. Service was great too! My godmother requires a LOT of caffeine, and she was not disappointed. Coffee refills all throughout the meal. If you get toast, you also get this cute selection of homemade jams, all very delightful and served in baby wooden bowls. Heck I'd go back to get toast and jam and just hang out here. Looking forward to going back for the red flannel hash, which my godmother got and loved, homemade granola and chocolate croissant french toast?!?!?! WHAT. Need to go back! Pricey, but very worth it. read more

One of the most modern and forward thinking breakfast options on cape cod. They have gluten free options and really interesting and creative dishes that are such a step beyond the bland/average diner food you'll find nearby. The atmosphere is very interesting - inside looks like a temporary restaurant in some rented space, like they could pack up any minute. It's kinda weird but the food is delicious and makes up for it. If you're able to eat outside and look over the airport that's the place to be, try to get a table out there! We enjoyed most of our dishes here with the exception of the gluten free pancakes... Stay away from the gluten free pancakes - they had an overwhelming flavor of beans or some alternative ingredient to make them gluten free, and it took a lot away from the taste. read more

Lovely lovely lovely! My family and I came here on a Saturday afternoon on a gorgeous day. It was hard to pick from the menu because everything looked delicious. We got the buckwheat pancakes, red flannel hash, fish tacos and huevos rancheros (I think). The pancakes were fantastic. Big, plump, tasty with local maple syrup and the plumpest and most delicious blackberries I've ever had in my life. The red flannel hash was pretty with the beets in there but the taste for me was not all that. The poached egg that came with was fantastic though. The fish tacos were fantastic. I don't have much of a criteria for fish tacos since I'm from the East but these were battered and fried but with a very tasty fish flavor and the sauce that came with was super great. I didn't try the huevos because my brother-in-law was wolfing it down so it looked good. The black beans had this nice black-bluish tint to them. So pretty. This place is above a small airplane strip which is pretty damn cool and the service was friendly and accommodating with the 2-month old baby we had with us. When we return to the Cape (fingers crossed) I'm definitely stopping here again. read more

One of the best breakfast spots I have ever been too. However, you need to be prepared to wait due to the limited seating and food preparation time. Everything they cook is super fresh and well planned. I recommend the hash, by far the best dish on the menu. A bit on the pricey side. Dishes run in the $12-$18 range and coffee is $3.50 per cup. I will say the wait staff seems to be a bit burned out. I did not find them to be the most friendly. We asked for a cup of coffee during our 45 minute wait and the waiter told us that he would get us one when we are seated. I recommend that the ownership pay more attention to the clientele that waits to be seated to eat at their establishment only a daily basis. We eat at another breakfast spot and they have this problem figured out. They too have a large following and there is always a wait. However, they offer complimentary coffee to make the wait more bearable and they have a hostess to manage expectations. Hanger B needs to consider doing both of these things. Hanger B knows they have great food and high demand for it which has resulted in a "take it or leave it attitude". If the food wasn't so good I would have given them a 3 out of 5. However, despite the wait and the mediocre service, I had to give them a 4 out of 5. read more

I am almost reluctant to write a review about Hangar B because I don't want people knowing just how amazing it is! This place is crowded every day of the week as is and seems to only be gaining in popularity. The food is unbelievable and hand crafted by the former chef of the Chatham Bars Inn, one of Cape Cod's best hotels. This is not your traditional breakfast place, which by the way you can find down the road at Larry's Px. Hangar B offers some of the most unique breakfast and lunch fair that I have ever had, with a focus on local and fresh ingredients. The husband and wife owners are some of the nicest people and all of the waitresses who work there are also amazing. I don't think a trip to Chatham would be complete with at least one (likely 2-3) trips to Hangar B. Three of us had a midweek, offseason breakfast at Hangar B this morning. The hash was delicious and being beet rather than beef it seemed lighter and healthier. The sour dough was good- didn't even require butter or jam. The eggs were poached perfectly. I believe I've been to three different iterations of restaurants at this location at the Chatham airport and Hangar B is by far the best. I'm looking forward to going back for lunch soon. read more

The food was amazing. Very limited seating inside but plenty outside. We waited for a table about an hour because it was raining but it was well worth it. Food and drinks were fresh/organic. I love this place. It's not your typical cape breakfast spot which I like. I loved the omelette I had this time with arugula and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It typically comes with cheddar which sounds like a great combo- but I have a dairy allergy. Loved the sourdough toast and homemade jam as well and the home fries- yum. Their doughnuts are unreal- but they aren't too doughnut like- more like fried dough but still fantastic with the jam. I also appreciate and like how the waitstaff works as a team and how the female owner tries to be the face of the front of the house. Do get here early though unless you do not mind waiting for a bit for a table. read more

I had a awesome experience at Hanger B. I went as a single and sat right away. This is different than the experience that most parties face. I ordered the vegetarian benedict. I'm not a vegetarian, but sometimes I go that way with breakfast. It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Get it. The staff was extremely friendly, especially given the onslaught of customers they face everyday. The hostess was a spot on combination of personable and professional. 100 out of 100. *One caveat - if I had waited 45 minutes to sit it would only be a 4 star place. read more

Hangar B is my favorite breakfast spot, and as a local, I should be keeping this place to myself. However, I want to give credit where it's due. The brioche french toast with assorted berries is, hands-down, the best I've ever tasted. The toast is crispy on the outside, chewy and flavorful within. Strawberries, blackberries and blueberries mingle with maple syrup which creates a sort of nirvana for the palette. Thank goodness, I'm only a short bike ride away.
