I took my Tundra into Haney's for the dreaded Secondary Air Pump Valve (they are located under the intake manifold on these!) error. Bob Haney diagnosed it and gave me my options and I decided to replace all three valves because of the amount of labor taking off the intake manifold. Without going into technical insanity, it turns out that the new valve from Toyota was faulty, but it reported it was working to the computer. Bob chased this thing around for days and ended up having to take the manifold off many times, talk to toyota on the phone, consult the tech specs online, etc. Finally, using his oscilliscope, he determined the sensor on the new valve was giving bad readings and he replaced it again. I know he took a bath on this one, but when I went to pick it up, the truck was fixed RIGHT and he didn't charge me an extra cent. In fact, he said he learned a lot. Show me another mechanic who is this fair and who insists on doing the job right,.. Hard to find! Thank you Bob Haney. read more

Pulled up to the shop and never had I EVER!!!!!! felt invisible. I felt I was avoided like I was some kind of plague. I waited a good 15 min until I left, no one had any customers service, the only thing they did was turn a round to see who I was and turned right back around. So I left they did not deserve my business nor will I let them touch my car. Thank God I didn't the shop looked like I was in the movie wrong turn it was dusty and dirty like no one cleans up the common area, I was like...... Me Haney is a gifted mechanic and a true gentleman. He is honest and stands by his work. Just recently he took the time, in the rain, to look at my vehicle. I was headed to an appt and turned into his shop. He saw right away what the problem was and said you can drive this anywhere it's not safe. He drove me back to my house. I was contacted by the new manager. He apologized for the previous treatment and reimbursed the second tow fee. I was glad that he found this review and due to it was made aware of an unhappy repeat customer. He was very professional and was also bothered by how the previous manager handled the situation. I'm glad he CARED enough to read the reviews folks left here besides mine. He advised me that he helped build the customer base and wanted to continue to make his customers happy. This is exactly how a GOOD manager conducts business and pleases the customer base. I applaud the new manager and thank him for taking the time to discuss the situation with me, as well as making this bad situation a better experience. I'm a harsh critic of mechanics and have been burned before by dishonest mechanics who just want to keep you paying. I brought my truck in and it needed a new starter. The day after picking up my vehicle it left me stranded. The symptoms were similar to what I experienced the day before. I had to have my vehicle towed and repaired at another shop who found out that the problem was related to the starter being incorrectly installed. I initially was very angry and swore I'd never be a customer again. I addressed the issue with Haney's and they promptly reimbursed me the cost to have my vehicle towed and repaired. Needless to say, I was shocked. Someone who stood behind their work and was willing to admit they made an honest mistake? That is rare and Haney's definitely would get my recommendation and business again. read more

I've gone to Haney's Car Care for well over 10 years. Bob is great at troubleshooting to accurately assess the issue (mechanical, electrical), provides estimates (he's never gone over an estimate for me), does phenomenal and very neat work, and is honest. I have sent many people to Haney's. I take all of my cars there and so do my children. This world needs more honest mechanics like the folks at Haneys.
