This is a highly rated shop, but a lot of the reviews are questionable (i.e. a lady from san francisco who's only review is this shop in Texas?) so when my elderly mother in law's 20 year old Toyota broke down near this shop, I had some hesitation. Her car was dead. Wouldn't shift into gear. Could be the transmission... wouldn't start, had to be towed. This is an acid test for how good a shop is because here comes the stranger with maybe a bad transmission. And if you're going to gouge somebody, that's the person to gouge, right? So we tow it in at noon on a Friday. It's fixed by 4:00 the same day, and the total charge is two hundred dollars. I am a Yelp Elite from Magnolia, Texas, and I'm a real customer. I know i left one review prior to picking up my truck but this shop hands down one of the best experiences ive ever had at a shop the quality of work that they put out is mind blowing excellent and deserves more then one review. Mark had amazing communication throughout the whole process. Damn am I pleased beyond belief! And he made it before my deadline with time to spare (round of applause for this man and the team )Walked out the door with an amazing cost for all the work he topped off my trans fluid, and did alot of tedious stuff all out of the kindness of his heart. He redid both calipers pads and hoses on the brake system on the front and put in my motor mount with new hardware As well as put back together all the parts i had off the truck when it showed up like the transmission dust cover. Very informative honest and reliable. All things that are difficult to find, especially in the mechanics industry. When the dealership quoted us over $2000 for a repair, NCC was able to assess the issue and found the repair wasn't even needed. They not only saved us a ton of money, but kept our family traveling and getting to work. This place is way overrated. I took my daughter's car here, and the owner Mark was a hostile jerk. I asked him about a part, which he was doubling if not tripling the price of. He had no answer and just stared at me with a disturbing hate in his eyes. He tripled the part price to pad the bill so ask for an itemized invoice if you must go here. It is very easy now days to check out what things actually cost, so don't get fooled like Daniel son at the weighted scales in Karate Kid II. There is nothing about this place that is great. There are pumps that don't work taking up the best parking spots, a two-seat waiting room just five feet from the hostile counter, and nauseating signs hanging on the walls which all state 'jokingly' that you will be hit if you have questions or complain. I don't want to mention how he was inappropriate in other ways while my daughter was standing beside me. read more

Had to get some new tires on my truck and went in to get an alignment. Ended up speaking with Mark (the owner, I believe) a few times as he walked back to the front to check on customers. I can't imagine this man being hostile or 'having hate in his eyes' so I have no idea what some of the other reviewers were even looking at? maybe self-reflection? Price was reasonable, took about an hour, and customer service was top notch. Mark and his crew are doing it right and its hard to find a place that does all of that well. read more

The owner on this company is great, Marc is amazing. However, I placed two test for reliable work. I asked more than needed and put 100 dollars in the console. I got my truck back running good (so far), and the cash stolen. There was no up-sale. Marc is honest. But whomever he has working the shop will pillage any cash within the vehicle. When called on the matter the shop will promptly assert protection to the staff. This is unacceptable. Do not put your car here Response to owners reply* No sir I asked to confront the "only other person" you stated had contact with the vehicle. I wanted to explain you offered to give me 100 dollars to make me happy and cease my perceived hostilities. But when you told me I couldn't ask the person whom had contact with my vehicle about the matter I didn't want to have the owner, that I believed had nothing to do with the theft to compensate me for the situation because I can take my vehicles other places. You also helped me store my vehicle while my roof was being placed on. It was not 2 weeks but over a week due to rain. Another example on why I don't believe you the owner would lift 100 dollars from the vehicle in your care. The owner of the business is only guilty of fighting the accusations in defense of the theft..... I won't be bringing my vehicles back. I put the 100 in the console intentionally. Just wanted to give a shout out to Mark at Northampton Automotive. Our car started making a funny sound after driving it half way across the country to move here and based on recommendations from Yelp we took it into Mark to look at. Turns out it was just a loose bolt. First of all, he was honest about this and didn't try to say it was something that would've cost a lot more to fix. Mark & his crew are the absolute BEST in the business. My family and I have been taking our vehicles to him for years and have always received great service. Specifically for my old truck, Mark made sure it was always in the best shape. He would do tune ups and check/replace all of the parts that could be an issue for me before I would make my drives back to college, ensuring that it would get me to school safe (it always did). His customer service is also top notch. He would always answer my phone calls and texts about little issues I would have and walk me through how to fix something if I was away from home. When I got older, they assisted in selling my truck for me and even though I have a brand new truck, I do miss going to Northampton Car Care and talking with Mark and his crew. These guys worked on my daughter's 2000 F250. Both extended cab doors would not work and they fixed them. They replaced all the hoses on the truck, replaced all the spark plugs, replaced the belt, fixed the ignition assembly on the column, and turned the truck around in a short amount of time. Great Mechanics who care about your car and your wallet. My 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was using radiator fluid like crazy and two Chevy dealers diagnosed as a cracked head and asked if I wanted to proceed with a multi-thousand dollar repair. Northampton did some serious research, found a GM service bulletin from the past describing the issue and solution. Then...they fixed everything perfectly for less than $100!
