I can't say enough good things about Christian and the team at Das European Autohaus. I have an old…read moreTDI Jetta that I love and have spent way more than it's worth to keep her going. About a year ago I was in a small crash and had a body shop on the south side of town do the repairs. They called when the car was ready and said that it wouldn't run. Frustrated, I knew there was what supposed to be a reputable VW TDI guru nearby, so I had the car towed to them for repairs. Seven plus months and myriad excuses later, they'd done nothing to get the car back on the road. It was an awful experience. Finally it dawned on me that I had previously had a great experience at Das European, so I had the car towed again to the team here for repairs. I was very frustrated at the inability to just get the car fixed. because I had spent about $8,000 having a lot of work done to keep the car going, I was worried I wouldn't be able to get her fixed up and back on the road. Christian and team came to the rescue. They fixed the issues on the car and more all in one weeks time. I couldn't be more thankful for the work these guys did, and more importantly that they understand how much I love the car and how hard they worked to help me keep it running. If you have a TDI or any older VW that you love, these are the only people in Houston thar you should trust to care for your car! Thanks again to the team for all of the great work. I sincerely appreciate it!

I was disappointed with my experience here. When customers are deciding whether to spend money on…read morerepairs, they deserve to be given all relevant information about the condition of their vehicle so they can make an informed decision. In my experience, important information was not clearly communicated to me before I made decisions about repairs. I later learned information that absolutely would have affected what I chose to do. I understand that vehicles can have multiple issues and that a repair shop can't predict everything. My concern is with transparency and communication. Not giving a customer all of the information available so they can make an informed decision about repairs feels like sketchy business to me. Unfortunately, the experience left me without confidence in the shop, and I won't be returning and if you are considering going think again.

The mechanic had my jeep for one day then called and said i needed a new engine. Claimed he changed one of the fuel injectors, and he couldn't find the problem. He gave it back to me in worse condition it was in because he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. He also forgot to plug in the coil, which could have blown my engine.....Took it to another mechanic and within the same day he fixed my jeep and it's running like new. the problem was the two fuel injectors because neither of them were ever replaced. From there they tried to sell me another service. I was not against the other service that they offered, but i wanted to hear more in detail about it. The bad experience stated here. I asked to speak to the tech about it, and they refused to let me speak to the tech and give me more detail on what i was paying for. and it left a bad taste and my mouth but i took it for a grain of salt and assumed i was over reacting. later in the day after receiving my car back my girl noticed that our seat would no longer adjust and the button for the seat was pushed in. I then called the shop to find solution. they then tried to charge me another 100 diagnostic to check the situation rather then just looking at the seat that was damaged after. I took it to the shop to talk to the owner and he yelled in my face as i remained professional and calm as i had my work gear on and could not make my employer look bad,and i have it all recorded. At parts i asked him why is he yelling when i remained calm. He then digressed and then went back to yelling. Probably the most frustrating experiencing i ever had. It was like talking to a controlling parent. I won't bash the shop because i'm sure they do good work. but working with a company that has integrity is important and this is just not that shop. i also noticed that another customer had a similar experience.

( I had heard about this place from several close friends and needed some honest mechanic work) I talked to the young lady and told her that another shop had giving me a really high estimate ($1800.00) for the job and several days to do the job. One of the men in the group stepped out his conversation and introduced himself as Tino. He said it was his shop and that he would have his mechanic look at the car, and that estimate sounded a bit high. As I waited for the mechanics to look at the car I noticed that the group of people talking were all very friendly and seemed close. More to come. Well the guys finished looking at my car and Tino came to talk to me. He explained exactly what the problems were and gave me an estimate that was nearly half the other shop's price! I asked him how long it would take and he said they could start on it tomorrow if I wanted and would be done the same day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I decided to leave my car with him and have my friend pick me up. I struck up a conversation with the group of people. As it turned out they were all his customers, and were long time customers. Which really shocked me. Here was a group of customers that were all on a really friendly and familiar basis with their mechanic? Wow, just wow. Some had known him and been customers for the past 15 years. So Tino called me the next day and told me my car was ready. I went to pick it up and it has run like a champ since! Thanks Tino!!!
