This is by far one of my favorite bars in Central Florida. It is a long drive from where we live but love the town of Mt Dora! The drinks are consistent and they truly are worth the price. We paid $33 for 3 drinks ... a Mai Tai, something Bangkok lol and a whiskey sour that had the egg whites and all. The venue is on the second floor and you'll totally miss it if your not looking for it. The. Inside is super cute and a really nice place to sit at and have some cocktails. They also have a tv! The only thing I have to complain is that they aren't consistent with the times they stay open. However if it is open when you pass by you can also grab a drink to go if your waiting to eat at any of the restaurants! read more

This 4 rum mixed drink is definitely meant for 2, and 1 if you're in for good time (responsibly). It's called the Blue Hippo on the menu, also listed is "one per customer". It is a dapper cocktail lounge with the chillest vibes. As you walk up the dim staircase and turn the corner into the bar area, you will be surprised by the most adorable decor. read more

Love this but love the people behind the bar even more. Amazing drinks, great selection of Bourbons, Tequilas and pretty much everything else. You can taste the freshness in each cocktail. What a super cute place!! A hidden gem on the second floor. We saw a sign that they offered drink specials (Wine down Wednesday) so we decided to give it a try. It's a great place to relax and have a glass or two of wine. They have a nice selection of wines as well as some great specialty cocktails. The bar staff was friendly and made great suggestions. HandleBar is no doubt named after its owner's handlebar moustache. Just like its friendly owner it's a unique bar with a good cozy atmosphere and a sort of mid-century modern eye appealing décor. The selection of craft cocktails is one of its drawing points, but also the upstairs (yes, it's on the second floor up a long staircase) secluded setting. The drinks seemed a little pricey but probably not for its downtown Mount Dora location. read more

If you're looking for a neat new bar/lounge at which to hang out, this is the place. Excellent crafted cocktails, great view of downtown, and wonderful people watching top the list of pros. Dakota (the owner) and his crew have created a unique hangout for locals and a totally different Mt Dora experience for visitors. That being said, expect a crowd at night (the locale is modestly sized) and don't expect full service. This is a bar, folks; a modern interpretation of a classic. As far as the cocktails, every one I've tried had its highlights. Personally, I'm working my way through the whole menu. But don't be frightened off if you don't see your 'usual'; they'll make it. Some things of which to be aware: * the stairwell heading up is a little steep * on weekend evenings it does get fairly packed; you will have to wait for your cocktails. * food is not served there. However, perched atop the Mount Dora Marketplace, if you're there during the day, you can pick up some munchies. This area needed this place! read more

Stopped by the HandleBar after dinner in Mount Dora and so glad I did! The drinks were incredible - I especially recommend the Saturn, which tasted like candy. Usually give this place 5 stars. New girl it looked like they were training tonight(dark hair orange sweater and corduroy pants) was awful. I ordered 2 drinks and she spilt half my first drink when she brought in 2nd drink knocking it almost completely over-only because I caught it did whole drink not spill but large portion almost half tipped out, wasted. and I moved it to side so she could remake it and she's oh do you need a napkin and I said half of it just spilled all over the mat when you knocked it over - and she said oh it's fine- if u need a napkin thou let me know. I'm like ummm really??? No I'm sorry I'll remake that I apologize let me fix up the half of the drink I just spilt that you paid for- no etiquette as a bartender and in a place like this- that doesn't fly, not ok. Will not be returning if she's working. Also they are not using green or yellow chartreuse but knock off that's much cheaper yet the drink isn't cheaper. I would love to give a good or better rating, and i had high high hopes since i really liked the vibe, but we couldn't get service/a drink. Went yesterday afternoon for a cocktail while visiting the area for a friends birthday, and sat at the bar and waited and waited and waited. It was busy, but not packed, but there was only one bartender there who was taking care of everyone, including the tables. He did greet us when we sat down and, I believe, said he would be over, but never made it. We ended up walking out since we were thirsty. read more

The worst place to visit in Mt. Dora. Terrible customer service. Three of us were waiting to go in because we were told they are at capacity and then 6 people walked right up and got right in while we were still in line waiting. Go to Pisces Rising or Goblin Market for a specialty cocktail. Their drinks are fabulous and superb customer service. read more
