Delicious rum punch, very boozy and affordable! This bar is owned by the same folks that own a couple other bars on this strip of downtown. They have several TVs so it's a great place for watching sports. The bartender was friendly and accommodating, she gave suggestions and recommendations since this was our first time here. I found myself at Monkey Bar during the World Cup - while everyone was struggling for a table down at Wall Street/fainting from heat exhaustion, we were calm, cool, and collected sitting at the bar. There are plenty of couches to sit at, but what makes this place fabulous is it's position above Waitiki. There's a really great and large balcony bar that let's you peek out at the crowd as well as menus from Waitiki (oh yeah- you can order some of their awesome island-inspired dishes). As a note- the bar only has bottled beer (no beer on tap). I ordered a trio of tacos (you order them individually) and got to try the duck (heck. yeah.), tuna, and fish taco. The fish taco was alright, but the stand out was definitely the duck. Last, but definitely not least, I had one of the better ice cream sandwiches of my life at this bar. You read that correctly. Best ice cream sandwich... At a bar! The ice cream has vanilla bean specks and the cookies holding it together were wonderfully salty (not a fan on the typical overly sweet choc chip cookies in an ice cream sandwich). I actually liked Monkey Bar better than Wai Tiki. Monkey Bar can be accessed through the stairs on the right side of the inside of Wai Tiki. There's wide benches when you get upstairs. Dance space, a bar on the right side of the upstairs and a nice bar and sitting area outside. It has a view of the road too. The monkey hand paintings on the wall ate quite interesting. Kind of mod, kind of pretentious, very detailed. I like it a lot. Nice place to chill, have a drink, and relax and listen to fun music. read more

Visited here as part of the Harry Potter Bar Crawl, and though I wasn't drinking, I loved this bar the best. The funky art on the walls was perhaps the best I'd seen in some time. The furniture was very comfortable and retro and the music, though it was really loud was still quite fun. My husband and I discovered the Monkey Bar during our downtown Orlando pub crawl. We spotted the "hidden entrance" next to the drink special menu and decided to go up the elevator to explore the bar. The Monkey Bar has a nice bar on the balcony overlooking Wall Street. We loved the laidback vibe with cool Frank Sinatra music and comfty couches. There was no cover charge and the happy hour specials were great. ($3 House Cabernet!!!) We ordered some churros to snack on while we enjoyed the atmosphere. Wow, these were some awesome churros!!! The warm churros had some kind of custard filling and were served with vanilla ice cream. Cheap alcohol, tasty food, nice music. We will definitely be back next time we are visiting Orlando! read more

What a fun little bar! It's kinda hidden away above Wai Tiki, so you have to maneuver your way upstairs through the crowds using the elevator to find it. Totally worth it though! Its has a great atmosphere and decor! Very trendy, but not snobby feeling. It's usually packed to the brim with 20-somethings and is a great place to meet people. I am a fan of their interesting martini's. Try the Almond Joy martini for something delectable and different! The place tends to get super crowded on Friday and Saturday nights - so bad that you can barely move or get up to the bar to order a drink. Not fun! All in all, a nice hangout in a nice area of downtown. Check it out! read more

A decent group of us went here for one of my best friend's birthday. We had dinner downstairs at the Waikiti [?] and then we upstairs for some drinks. The martinis my friends had were amazing! Served in large glasses, with a nice variety of choices - named after porn stars! I think they were about $12 which is not too bad for a good sized martini. We took some seating inside and then went out to a large sofa on the terrace. The atmosphere was relaxed just jiving from below because there was a live band which livened up the area. We parked near the public library in Downtown and paid just $5 for it. I'd recommend this lounge. read more

Monkey Bar, located inside Wallstreet Plaza, atop Waitiki, is my favorite bar in the Wallstreet area. It is a nice break from the bustling bars below. A great place to relax in the evening with a cool drink. While the interior is quite small, it is pleasant plus they have a good deal of outdoor seating which is where you get the best experience. Their specialty is martinis, coming in at just over 10 bucks. There is a certain jungle setting present, as well as many monkey sculptures that you'd expect. Monkey Bar can be tricky to find if you have never been there before, but you can easily get in through the elevator in the back of Waitiki. read more

I didn't think I was going to like this place, I thought it may be a little too trendy and filled with annoying snobbery but it wasn't. I even saw an old friend there. The decor is plush, the lighting is warm and the martini's are all named after porn stars. It's a great place to chill for a bit, and its not to loud in there to have a conversation. read more

Monkey bar is Wallstreet's hidden upstairs bar right on top of WaiTiki. Personally I like coming here for the mellow vibe to get away from all of Wallstreet's loconess. You can get here by going up the right staircase in WaiTiki. No cover along with hefty drink specials such as $5 hurricanes if that's your kinda party. This lounge type bar has comfy retro couches along along with risque paintings of burlesque monkeys lol (whatever to represent the name.) The music that gets played here is techno, dubstep, top 40, and a few old school tracks but nobody really dances it's just really chill. This is the one place in Wallstreet where you would not witness anybody throwing up on themselves or dancing bumping into people. That craziness goes elsewhere lol keep it fancy and relax in Monkey bar. read more

A unique bar with excellent drinks. Every time I've ever been to Orlando's Wall Street district, I inevitably find myself at Monkey Bar at one point in the night. While part of it is their very clean bathrooms, the other part is the bar itself. In order to get to the bar, you either take stairs (not recommended) or take an elevator ride up (highly recommended). Once you are inside the bar, you see a wide range of unique monkey art on the wall and all around. The bar plays a very unique club mix that is a little strange at times but usually pretty fun. There is an inside bar and a bar out on the patio, both of which will provide you with very strong drinks. Once you have your drinks, you can go out onto their dance floor area (not terribly large on purpose), where you can dance around, look at some fun art and mirrors, and then head out into the night. This place always seems to be either really packed or near empty, so be ready for both. Overall, this is an interesting bar with good drinks and interesting art that alone makes it worth stopping by if you are on Wall Street or are around the downtown area late one night. read more

I love when happy hour lasts until 10:00. That can happen here for sure. You lose track of time chatting with friends and enjoying the comfy couches. The setup of Monkey Bar is great - plenty of seating inside and on the patio. There is also bar access in both places, and servers that will keep the drinks coming! The only thing I don't like about Monkey Bar is going thru the Wall St. crowd to get to it. I'm a huge fan of tiki retro culture so the decor alone is worth 3 stars to me. The really HUGE martinis named after porn stars gave it the extra star. The drinks are not cheap but seriously the sizes are really big and mixed really well so you don't need that many to do you in. I do agree that the kitchen door swinging open can be a bit distracting/awkward in terms of seating or milling about, but I think its a good place to start off downtown before hitting some clubs. read more

Wallstreet is always a busy place with all the different bars you can go to, but definitely my favorite so far is Monkey Bar. It's tucked away upstairs and you get a great view from the balcony, great spot to enjoy the weather and even people watch if you want. They have house music playing up there and its a great relaxed atmosphere. I could definitely stay at Monkey Bar all night long. read more

I didn't know this place was here. It is upstairs. But it is usually less crowded then Wall Street below. There is just one bar area in there but they seem to manage it well. Because it is a little small there is only one bathroom for men and one for women. The line can get a bit long. It has a nice little patio area and some couches and stuff. I liked it here. read more

The picture potential alone makes this place a must see! Sitting above on Wall Street you can enjoy sitting on the balcony and enjoy the views. The walls are full of colorful murals and the bathroom has cool red walls really giving this place an artsy feel. Monkey Bar is one of my favorite bars in the downtown area. The bar has a very cute and cool decor which makes it a fun place to get a cocktail and relax with friends. There's tons of comfortable seating room through the lounge and patios and the bar is not as crowded as the other ones on the strip. I've been a few times on Fri. nights and have always been able to get a seat and quick drink service. The bartenders make a great cocktail and the drink prices are a steal. Its definitely a fun and cool bar to meet for drinks while in downtown O-town. read more

Went here on a Friday night, it was around 10pm and pretty slow. We ordered sweet potato fries and gator bites. They were good, however, I got reallly sick afterwards, I'm guessing it was from the gator bites :( I got a grey goose cosmo and for some reason, my stomach wasn't handling that too well, it was made all different or with the wrong alcohol, so I had to chuck that and we left The place looks ok, nothing to rave about. read more

This is a fun upstairs bar above the Tiki lounge. I went here for the room and reggae Festival. This upstairs bar was used for VIP at this festival. This bar has single person restrooms that are actually clean. There is only one bar that straddles the interior and exterior of the space. The line for the bar can get very long and the bartender can get easily overwhelmed. But the staff behaved beautifully under pressure, and we were only able to order food while we were there. The balcony is nice because you can sit and watch any performers, or live music that is happening in Wall Street. The only downside is there a ton of smokers outside. read more

This bar is great if you're into monkey prostitutes covering the walls and being approached by drug dealers. Everything about that place is awful. The AC was dripping on us and into our food. When we asked the waitress about this she had us climb onto the table to wipe the vents down ourselves. To make the experience better we were approached by a few men at the bar passing out drugs. When we turned them down they crushed up their own and put them in their drinks... All of this done in front of the waitress with no comment from her. These same men grabbed two of the females in our party several times in front of the bartender, again with no intervention from her. Our appetizers took an hour to come out. After waiting another half hour for our food we left. Worst experience in Orlando. read more

When this place opened it thought it was "the bees knees"! So hip and posh and ultra swanky....I really don't feel that way anymore. It's ok. They do serve good martinis, but I can't think of anything that really draws me to keep coming back. It's kinda awkward because the kitchen for the tiki bar is upstairs and there are cooks and servers coming in and out of the kitchen while you're trying to not spill your drink and mingle and stand in line for the ONE bathroom!!!! Monkey bar is a cool little martini bar directly above Tiki Bar in the Wall Street complex. In fact to get to it you have to take an elevator up while inside Tiki. Most probably think this bar is a part of the Tiki bar but its actually its own entity. I like it because of the decor and exotic feel. Its decorated in red and gold fixtures with monkeys present everywhere. The balcony has wicker couches and chairs for lounging and watching the scene below. But what's really impressive is the martini list here. They have everything under the sun including my personal favorite the caramel apple which comes with caramel on the rim of the glass. This is a tiny place so if more than a handful of people venture up here it can get crowded, but most of the time this is a really chill atmosphere. Not too crowded, not too stuffy, but instead a nicer, loungy bar unlike your typical Wall Street joints. read more

My wife and I were curious about trying The Monkey bar ever since we discovered WaiTiki on Wall Street. Monkey Bar's hours were a bit strange though-- they were only open certain nights of the week and then starting at late hours like 9pm. But we finally got to check it out the Sunday before Memorial Day. Wall Street was packed with lot's of seemingly drunk people so it was nice to finally get upstairs via the funky elevator to The Monkey Bar. Not sure if it was the night we went or if was just another typical night, but they were out of martini glasses and the female bartender said something about them not serving martinis on that particular night. My wife was able to order one anyway (Bunny Blue?), however, what she got came in a plastic cup instead of a martini glass and still cost $12 bucks. One thing we found was that the drinks were comparable to the one's served at WaiTiki-- all seemed a bit weak (compared to the great drinks at Kres on Church Street). The atmosphere at The Monkey Bar is nice and cozy (though the music was quite loud that night) but the drinks really don't pack much of a punch for the price. And from what we've been told about the bars on Wall Street -- that they're owned by the same persons/company-- I have a feeling they'll all be the same anyway. Might like to try Monkey Bar on a different night, but if I'm going to pay $12 for a martini it better have some kick! read more

I like this bar. It usually isn't overly crowded and the staff is very nice. The bouncer are friendly and the bartenders get you drinks pretty quick. It is on the second story and you can see a lot from the balcony. I would definitely check this place out if you are downtown. read more

If you're not paying attention, you may never even know this place exists. It's located on the second level of Waitiki's, across from Hooch. Since it's lesser known, the crowd is a bit smaller than your typical Wall Street places which is a great thing. They have an indoor area that usually has club style music playing. It isn't as loud as at other Wall Street places which is good. The bar faces indoors and also outdoors on the other side, which also has a nice balcony overlooking Wall Street with a bunch of couches. The big drawback of this place, however, is the bartenders. I was there the other night and they were awful, deciding they'd serve their "preferred" people above everyone else, regardless of who was there first. Probably some of the worst bartender service I've seen. I would have given them 4 or 5 stars had the bartenders been better, but I'm knocking it down to a 3 on account of them. Overall it's a good place if you want to do something slightly lower key than the rest of the Wall Street craziness and want a view or to do some people watching - but if you're planning to drink here and there is a crowd, prepare for some frustration. read more

The rudest bartender works here (the brunette one). I went to this bar last night with 6 friends. I ordered a round of shots to celebrate a friends birthday, and unfortunately on transporting them to the group, I dropped one. I understand that the bartender is not obliged to replenish a spilled drink, but having observed what had happened she then reviewed my receipt to see if I had tipped her enough on the $30+ tab for 7 drinks for it to be worth her time to help me out, and when she deemed that I had not tipped enough for her liking, she refused to replenish it. She then proceeded to forcibly imply that I increase her tip in order to receive another drink. This is the most unprofessional and disappointing experience I've ever had at a bar. I've been a patron of this establishment for many years but because of this experience with this bartender I will not be returning, nor will my friends. read more
