mmmmm meat. all you can eat yakiniku? count me in! although the restaurant's location is...less than favorable, the food here more than makes up for it! i've been to this place several times and each time, the quality of the meat has been consistently amazing. the price is a bit steep but for the selection and quality, it's a VERY fair price. there are places in LA that charge almost the same price and the quality sucks. i want han yang to move here ): (my favorites: beef tongue and brisket) i'm addicted to their dipping sauce! it's sooooo yummy with the meat...and drizzled over veggies...and on its own.. anyways. this place is also good if you just want some authentic korean food. ask for the mak jang jjigae or bibim naengmyun! two of my favorite dishes :D definitely paying this restaurant a visit (probably multiple visits .___. sighh byebye beach body diet..) when i get back to paradise! tip: wear loose clothing. your stomach will thank you. read more

Great food but really bad service. They try to cap your "all-you-can-eat" buffet orders. Not worth the price. BAD SERVICE!!!

Ok so my bf and I recently ate at this restaurant and their customer service was horrible from beginning to start! We had to constantly ask for refills on our water and to change out the grill. Two stars because it was relatively clean, but other than that, there's nothing worth going back to. The food was below average and definitely NOT all you can eat, and the service was atrocious. $26.44 ($22.99 plus mandatory 15% tip) per person was NOT worth it. The "all you can eat" is false advertisement, because you can only eat as much as they allowed you to eat. The meats are brought to you by the server, and it was one order per person in a portion controlled by the kitchen. When we ordered more meats, we only got half of what we asked for. I guess the kitchen decided we've had enough. Coincidently, that was also when the servers suddenly disappeared and we couldn't even get more tea. We never got all we could eat. The quality of the meat was average, and it was not fresh. They claim that they only use Angus beef, but they didn't say Angus beef from which week. The salted beef (without the camouflage of the Korean marinades) tasted week-old and stale, and it was tough. The Kobe beef did not look or tasted like Kobe beef. As for the all you can eat vegetables, it's a joke. We got 4 small dishes (no more than 2 oz each) of vegetables for the four of us (choy sum, kim chee, bean sprouts, and potatoes). Each time we wanted more we practically had to beg the "I hate my job" server for more. Nothing comes without begging. More tea, more rice, more veges. I have never had to work so hard for my food!! The service is what others have described - atrocious. The ladies hated their jobs, and we were just an inconvenience to them. We tried so hard to please the servers so we could get some sort of service, but "nice" did not work. Why should it, the 15% tip was automatically added to the bill, so they got the 15% tip whether we got service or not. If you have a craving for good Korean food, go someplace else, this place is not good. If you want all you can eat, go someplace else, this place is NOT all you can eat. Updated: I have revisit Han Yang on several occasion. Every time, the server seems worse. The choices of meat are the same, but they allow to order only 2 items at a time. Bad customer service. Like many said 15% included is not really worth their service. Old review: HanYang has and always been on my short list for yakiniku. I love gyu-kaku too, but they can't beat the all you can eat. On top of everything, they recently reduced the price for this month from 25 to 19.99!!! Can't get any better than that. I used to think Han Yang was one of the better Korean restaurants: tasty food, good service, and clean. A bit pricey but still it was a good value. Now under new management Han Yang's food is still tasty, but service and cleanliness have really taken a "nose" dive. Allow me to explain... When we walked through Han Yang's doors their staff simply stared at us... we experienced a long, awkward silence that led us to ask, "Are you open?" Yes, yes, the lady behind the cash register shot back sit anywhere. We ordered their loco kalbi (3 thin pieces for $11.99) and kimchee pancake (generous plate for $11.99) which were both very good. Their kalbi was flavorful and tender and came out on a sizzling platter - nice touch. Han Yang's kimchee pancakes were also very good as it came crispy, hot, and delicious once you dipped it into the accompanying sauce - things were looking up! Unfortunately once our waitress dropped off our food she stopped coming, literally never again to visit our table for our entire meal. But kicker was the look on my wife's face as I was stuffing mine, she winced in disgusted as she stared over my shoulder, something clearly caught her eye. It was our waitress, she was picking her nose. I mean really picking her nose. It's amazing that the tip of her index finger did not poke out through the back of her head. We are talking some major league digging here. The thing was she continued to do so standing right in front of the cash register, in front of the owner, in front of God, and in front of everyone. I figure if she can so openly and casually dig away in front of her boss and all her customers without blinking an eye, I wonder what other kind of digging is going on "behind" in the kitchen. I think this is the best all you can eat Yakiniku on the island. Hands down. they have galbi, Kobe, sangyupsal, brisket, beef tongue and intestines, AND MORE! Plus they have recently lowered the prices to $19.99. Which is the cheapest on the island, considering that they have a huge selection of meat, free parking, and it is byob (they also sell too though i think). The service is great, and I foresee myself coming to eat here a lot more often now that it is cheaper! read more

I went there by myself recently and was told as a single person I could not have the all you can eat special. WTF?!?! What difference does the amount of people make? Further, there are no signs stating that the special only applies to two or more people. I have never been turned away as a single guy at any other buffets or at Camellia. - Went here with my boyfriend, my brother and his girlfriend on a Friday night. There are separate sections for ones who want to do the ALL YOU CAN EAT MEAT and another one for people who order plate items off the menu. - My boyfriend and my brother wanted the all you can eat meat of course, but since I don't really like meat, I wanted to get a regular plate. The lady was nice enough to let us sit together on the all you can eat side! That was AWESOME customer service because it would have been such a pain to figure out what side to eat on. - The ALL YOU CAN EAT course was well worth it. I wanna say it was $25.99 plus tax and tip (tip they add on automatically 15%). I don't remember all the types of meat that they ordered but they were are quality meats with nice seasoning. My boyfriend and brother enjoyed that route. If you like meat, I would DEFINITELY suggest this option! - Service was great, they always made sure we had water, gave us extra bowls. Went here last night with my buddy Dante. Service is like any Korean joint. You yell and ask for what you want. The meat is the best and the ban chan is standard though depending on if you're a regular or not depends on how much differing ban chan you get. The tables next to us had a few more different items (cucumber Kim chee, seasoned fish cake, etc) than we did but figured one group was Korean and the other seemed to go there a lot. Mmm, grilled mackerel. Large, oily, moist, salted perfectly. Paired with banchan (kimchee cabbage and diced daikon; choi sum; moyashi/bean sprouts; and summer squash) and slightly dry/slightly sticky white rice (how the fook do they manage to do that, I dunno), it's like a field trip to heaven. My macho local Japanese male friend swears by the chix katsu, and my Okinawan girlfriend (raised here but now an entertainment-industry Angeleno) loved the beef kal bi short ribs, both Hawai'i-Korean classics, common yet hard to do well. Neither was overcooked, both seasoned perfectly, and balanced the juicy with the crispy/hard quite well. My meditation teacher ordered the seafood jun/pancake (seafood=anchovy and ika), stuffed with as much veggies (uh, green onions, white onions, and I wanna say, squash or something zucchini-ish) as proteins. Yakuniku- grill your own food. -Very terrible service, below average atmosphere and parking is tight. +Sell Soju & beer. $5 Per person BYOB/corkage fee. -Although unlawful, they automatically add 15% gratuity to all bills! -Also they will not allow single persons to dine in. *2nd review after returning!!!! -food quality getting worse, they sneak poor quality or totally different meat on your plate masking it under the actual meat you order so that you "have to eat it" if not they will up charge you for "wasting food" I think this is awful because you didn't even order it in the first place! .. If you ask how do I that they put a different meat? Answer: even if we are not Korean we know that Kalbi/short rib comes on a slab with bone the meat hiding under the top 4 piece layer of Kalbi is fatty, not attached to bone and has the consistency of stew meat.. And the brisket instead of your first order of thin meat goodness now has a thick fatty cut ...Ewe. Also the entire staff will stop servicing customer and completely stop working to eat dinner and if you interrupt them they are upset and the female cashier (seemed to be owner) will scold you and tell you to wait till they are done eating! I have never ever had service like this before! I usually go with the flow, but this is seriously ridiculous! They wonder why they are so slow! Next time I'll just go to Camellia! Ono Korean food with friendly service. My favorite is the spice pork and kalbi combo plate.

We had the all you can eat buffet for $26. They had a lot of selection of meats you could choose from including some "kobe" beef. It really wasn't Kobe but it was tender. I would say that this place was average compared to rest of the all you can eat Korean places. Taste was okay but nothing spectacular. Service was a little slow but they have a lot of space and didnt have to wait for a table. I think it is a better value if you were to order their ala carte dishes. My mom ordered the stone pot bi bim bap which was good and only $10. But I would pass on the all you can eat if I went back. read more

WORST service ever. Me and my friends arrived here around 7pm, it was moderately busy. Because it was busy, we were put on a table with a portable gas stove. I understand this. Afterwards me and my friends ordered the all-you-can eat BBQ. It took them over 20 minutes for us to be asked what our order was. Then when they finally came to take there order they constantly forgot one or two items each time we ordered. We realized that they were doing this ON PURPOSE. After about our third round they told us we cannot order anymore for an ALL you can eat BBQ. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever had. There was another lady who helped us also and if it wasn't for her kind attitude I would've walked the eff out. Food is ok. Bbq chicken was salty, but the kobe beef was good. The sides was ehh. It said unlimited sides but they never refilled it. Only thing they kept refilling was the rice, which was fine with me because my kids can eat alot of rice. Here's the truth about this place. Food is a great value for what your ordering, the meats are fresh and the portions are plentiful, take it from me a Nebraskan who's raised on beef. The attitude from the host and owner are Korean attitudes which I can accept, its their culture. 15% gratuity is acceptable.They are always happy to see us when we visit and they take care of us. Parking sucks but if you arrive early by 7 pm you can find a place. The seaweed soup is the best along with the sauces. Best meat is beef tongue!!! We look forward to our next visit. Stone Pot Bul Go Gi is mean! Presentation was killahz as well as taste. Side dishes are also included and they keep um coming. This time I tried the Spicy Pork & Han Yang special. Han Yan advertises a great deal with the $19.99 all you can eat Yakiniku including rice, soup, and vegetables. The customer service really sucked!! My party and I needed to ask for everything. The place is run by a couple the wife is the waitress and the husband the bouncer. He watches and controls everything kinda like the yakiniku notzy. I rubbed the yakiniku pan with fat from the meat as everything we cooked on it stuck to the pan. The husband then says to me not like that, we going give you another pan. my experience is almost identical to some of the reviews. The lady(I guess she is the boss) came to us and she talked to us in Korean, which i dont understand at all. From her facial appearance i am pretty sure she was upset about something. And five mins later she came by to our table and turn off the grill without even asking us. SO GOOD, I crave going back all the time. Prices are good and the meat is to die for. You get a huge amount and wide selection of high quality food for a lot cheaper than other places. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, and the workers are very friendly. The meat isn't the only thing that is satisfying, the side dishes that come with the meal are great as well.
