Don't let this local style BBQ place in Kalihi fool you, they might not look fancy, they don't have that high tech ventilation system to suck up all the smoke like the new fancy BBQ place. But I think they offer good deal for their meats and services. We come here because they have cow tongue, which is our favorite! If you go to H-mart to buy a box of cow tongue, you know how much that would cost you. Their short ribs, pork belly are also very good. You can order other items like soup, etc. they give us some small dishes, two bowl of rice that we never touched, (I should have told them take back to rice when they brought them and don't waste them) they also give us a small plate of salad. They changed our grill three times during our dinner which is nice. When the place gets busy, you may have to wait a bit for your meat to come. When we pay the bill at the end, they put 18% tips on our bill even we only have two people. I am not sure if they printed a note someplace on the menu saying that they will charge 18% tips automatically. I would like the owner to clarify that if they read this review.

There are two styles. You can choose to do buffet Yakiniku (grill your own meat) or order from the regular menu where all the food is cooked and brought to you. Your seating will depend on if you do buffet or regular menu. It's a family style restaurant. Service is brisk. Make sure to know what to order and place it's all at once. The kim chee soup is a bit spicy and sour. Old Kim chee is great for your gut. Spicy cold noodles with buck wheat noodles are normally served with daikon and boiled egg. I was surprised I only got half a boiled egg. What happened to the other half? The apple slices were a nice and refreshing surprise. The star of lunch time meals here is the 3 meat combo. I got the BBQ chicken, Kalihi, and meat Jun. the meat Jun is thin and the egg covering is slightly sweet. If you want rice, you have to order a side servicing/small bowl of rice. You may request for more ban Chan if you would like more.

This has an all you can eat grill menu but the portions are so big, never tried it. The hot Kim chee soup is the bomb for burning out a cold. Their kalbi, bulgoki, really everything, mandoo, is all onoliscious.

The overall service and quality of meat was superb! I would definitely be back. It definitely has a very quaint feel, but it also has that homely feeling that makes you want to return.

FOOD -- As other reviewers have mentioned, this place has two styles: yakiniku (all you can eat, grill it yourself style) or order specific dishes from the menu for them to cook and bring it to you. Beef brisket and garlic shortribs were great! I was kind of disappointed with the flavor and texture of the korean kalbi after it was cooked. PRICE -- We did the regular yakiniku menu ($29.99), which includes korean kalbi, garlic shortribs, salted shortribs, brisket meat, beef tongue, garlic kobe meat, salted jobe meat, bbq beef, bbq chicken, bbq pork, pork belly, and pork jowl. Includes unlimited steamed rice, side dishes, salad, seaweed or bean paste stew, and a signature sauce. The pricier $38.99 menu is basically just the regular menu PLUS prime shortrib, ribeye, shrimp, dumpling, mountain tripe, beef intestine, and baby octopus. For two people who did the $29.99 yakiniku menu and a can of soda, the total was $80, which includes the tax and automatic 18% gratuity tip. SERVICE -- Most of the workers are elderly ladies. They are quick and efficient with replacing the grills and meats. They have a 1.5 hour time limit for dining in. AMBIANCE -- Came here on a Thursday evening at around 8pm. There were not a lot of customers in the overall restaurant. We were seated immiediately. The restaurant is divided into two sides for each order style. The yakiniku side had about five tables occupied, there were about four more table empty. There were less tables occupied in the ordering side. The place, visually/aesthetically, looks a little bit run down but everything is in working order. Good for casual eats, but not for special occasions. OVERALL -- Great place for the price and quality of the meats! I just wished that the kalbi meat was better. Review for my visit on July 24, 2025.

This place is in kalihi right next to guieb cafe. They have free parking outside but go on a random time because it does get busy and parking does fill up. The food is cheap!!!! 3 choices for $20 something, wow! Super worth it! AND it comes with sides. Wow! So they seperate their sides because on one side of their restaurant you have all you can eat yakiniku and on the other side it's reg eating. Mama & papa there are super nice and they make you feel at home. The food is good. Cooked to perfection. Very fulfilling. They give a lot. Although I wish it was cooler in there because the ac was not really strong enough. The noise level is regular, not too quiet and not too loud which was perfect. The tables were a little squishy. But I enjoyed the company of the workers.

The BEST All you can EAT Yakiniku with the freshest sides, top quality meats &&& the friendliest SERVICE .Always treated like family, with this family owned business of17 years! This place is a staple for me &&& family. We've been coming for 10 plus years, and don't plan to stop!!! Please if you're in the area, come check out this place, you will not leave disappointed or hungry like similar places.

Brisket, beef tongue, pork belly, salted Kobe meat

$30 for ayce or $40 for ayce with slightly more options. There wasn't really any additional meats that were worth getting the $40 ayce though. 90 minutes to eat your limit, but we were done on the first plate. They said we could order 4 meats at a time. We got the brisket, pork belly, salted Kobe meat, and beef tongue. They were all pretty decent EXCEPT the Kobe meat. Very chewy and tough. There was a fat block provided to oil the grill, but everything still stuck lol. You can order seaweed or soybean soup as well. I was surprised that the place was fairly busy, as I haven't heard much about this place since middle school. Normally Korean ladies in restaurants aren't too friendly but they're efficient, BUT all three of these ladies were pretty nice. Not like a make small talk and complement like of nice, but a welcoming kind of nice and efficiency. It's a very casual and lively restaurant, come hungry and avoid the Kobe meat!

Always get the beef brisket and pork belly.

My families go to AYCE yakiniku spot. Great portions with every order, best brown sauce, and 'Ono cucumber kimchee; fast service too.

Loved the food, service was great, a little smokey but it cleared out well. We loved the brisket beef tongue.

They have two yaikiniku options, the $29.99 option and the $38.99. I personally got the $29.99 option and will DEFINITELY be coming back! Sides were DELICIOUS , meat was FULL-FILLING. They are not kidding with their portions. Thought I would be ordering 15+ plates like I usually do at any other place, but they totally filled me up, and left me feeling contempt. Will be returning, AN ABSOLUTELY HIDDEN GEM

I really enjoy the Korean comfort foods! 4 stars for the food, soups, and ban chan, 5 stars if the service was great. Typical service you will get at a Korean spot but no complaints. Just gotta be patient for ban chan refills or if you need anything else, I don't expect much just happy that I get to have my Korean food. During this recent Saturday visit, I decided to go here for our late lunch, after hiking Koko Head Trail & Makapuu. It was about 4:30 pm, we were the only ones there, but it filled up pretty quick an and they do have many take out and Uber/Door Dash orders. My favorites here are the combo set, choice of soondubu (combination, kim chee, spam, beef, sausage, clam,) & either meat jun, fried mandoo, bulgogi, yellow corvina, seafood jun, or BBQ chicken. The combo use to be $20.55 my first time but now went up to $23.55, hence the increase, it is still a great deal, this meal comes with rice and 5 different ban chan. This combo was more than enough for the both of us. My favorite is the spam soondubu ( yes. who picks Spam right?! hehe) & the seafood Jun. Although it so hard to decide since all the choices are good, I will have to visit again for the other selection. The other half and I cannot eat an entire combo set by ourselves. I love the ban chan, especially the daikon & kim chee, so fresh and crispy! When I first dined here, I was surprise to see they give you a fresh egg to crack in your soondubu soup, I am use to the egg already in there. We always have leftover soondu soup which I take home and add to my Korean ramen the next day, so good!
