This was my first visit here since they switched to an all you can eat menu, and I was so impressed! The ambiance is really calm and makes it really easy to have a conversation with the people you're there with, I loved the decor and the sauce bar was plentiful. The broth was absolutely incredible, I noticed real spices in it like star anise and bay leaves which was refreshing to see because some competing places will use a very basic soup base. The service was super fast, we put in an additional order for some meat and it arrived within 2 minutes.

This was such a fun experience. It was the first time I've done hot pot and the food was quite tasty. The ambiance is petty casual and so good for groups with really great service but the waitstaff. I would love to come back when I'm in town to visit my friend

I was wary of a la carte hot pot locations just because the prices of items can quickly add up! But this place really changed my mind with their affordable individual $22 hot pot combo which includes your choice of 2 proteins and a HUGE vegetable platter. We had a large group of us and each decided to order one Sauce bar: included and well stocked Service: OUTSTANDING! Very attentive (Refilled our broths many times and helped celebrate a birthday) Food: Broths were pretty good. I got the first choice on the menu which was the spicy one (forgot the name), but I tried the Tom yum one and that was my favorite. Plenty of fresh vegetables and the meat quality (I chose beef and pork) was good! Also got a scallion pancake that was perfectly flakey and delicious. Will definitely come back!

So happy to have finally tried Han! My first hot pot experience and will not be the last. My sisters and I had absolutely no clue how to order or what to get. Luckily the staff at Han patiently explained how everything worked and even made suggestions. I wish I knew the man's name that helped us but he was so great to us! To start we got the chengdu dumplings. They were so flavorful- they were gone instantly! Totally will get these again! Among the three of us we shared the 2 flavor classic hotpot. My favorite soup based flavor was the chengdu hot and spicy soup! Packs a punch but it is so tasty! We got orders of beef, chicken and shrimp balls with this. We all agreed that the beef was the star of the show and we would just opt for that next time as the other items we ordered weren't nearly as good. Cool thing about hot pot is designing your own sauces. It was so fun to mix and match different flavors. One suggestion to Han is to monitor the sauce table as many children were causing unsanitary conditions for other patrons. We also ordered drinks. I loved their lychee martinis! Definitely get this! Dessert was a little odd. I wish they had some type of cake option. Overall it was definitely a fun experience and the staff were super helpful. Will be back!

My 2nd visit to this location and I can't say enough wonderful things about it. Such a great spot for a social gathering. Their sauce bar is so fun, the assortment of broths (I love the Japanese inspired options). The sliced beef is paper thin and so fresh. The baby bok Choy are tender and wonderful. They are patient and kind to children and I never once felt rushed. 10/10. Must visit.

A few weeks ago, I attended a large Hot Pot Dinner organized by a friend in Han's private back room. We had about 25 people split among 3 special hot pot tables. Hot Pot is a choose your own adventure dinner in which you select and prepare meats, seafood, veggies, etc. in hot broth at your specially equipped table. Hot Pot is a cool group activity, which actually provides a variety of experiences throughout the night. In the Arrival Phase, you're mixing with friends until everybody is there. Then everybody separates into tables and you're in the Decision Phase. Are you ordering a bunch of stuff and sharing? Are you ordering an individual meal? What broth or broths are you choosing? Our table ordered individually, but the table next door ordered family style. I ordered two broths which were served in a two compartment pot. Chengdu and "Pickle Jar" were my broths. Both were pretty good. My combo dinner included shrimp, steak, an egg, bok choy, carrots, mushrooms, other veggies, noodles etc. After ordering, you're in the Sauce Phase. There is a bar with sweet, sour and salty sauces such as Soy, Vinegars, Sesame, Hot, Hoisin, Chili Sauce, etc. and some solids such as fresh herbs. You mix these ingredients to create your own perfect combinations. The next phase is the Cooking Phase, when everybody starts heating their raw food in the boiling seasoned broth. For experienced Hot Potters, cooking may be old hat and you can carry on a normal conversation. As a newbie, I had to ask Experts for advice, plan and concentrate as I decided what to cook and for long. When you prepare your own food, the blame largely lies with you if things aren't perfect. For the things that Han controlled like broth flavor, ingredient presentation, quality and freshness, they did a good job. Although I'm not an experienced Hot Pot customer, I actually see a lot of pics and video clips of Hot Pot experiences because I follow myriad IG food bloggers who are well versed in World Cuisine and Hot Pot. Given that, I would rate the unprepared food and broth at 4 Stars out of 5. I enjoyed the food and the experience. Han has a cool atmosphere and I'm not aware of another good Hot Pot option in the greater Hartford area. Service was friendly. Like many places now, it seems like Han is short-staffed. Hot Pot is a great experience, and I would recommend Han as a good place for it. Four Stars

This is my first hot pot experience, I was thrilled. My dear friend Jen took the pain of organizing this wonderful event for us to enjoy and I can't thank her enough for it. A family style dining, around the holidays was so warm... the whole experience was very authentic I must say!! The process of cooking your food and mixing up your own sauce to create a dish to your liking.. was so fun. It puts you incharge.... If you don't like it... you know who's fault that was ?? Such a clever idea!! I know many people are going to shy away from the fact that you have to WORK to plate your own meal, but trust me it's worth it and you are in for a good time. I loved the interaction with food, friends/family ..it was such an engaging experience. The menu is extensive, you start by choosing from the 8 broths .. spice level, optional veggie broth etc. Once they place that in the heating bin in front of you, and broth boils then the fun begins. You can pick an array of proteins and fresh vegetables that swim/cook in the hot broth. Instructions and cooking times are given to you... before all of this you start at the dipping station, where you can put together your own combination of sauce, oils... that will enhance the flavor experience. I'm definitely coming back, bringing my family/friends for more experimentation.

It's been far too long since our last visit but this isn't a place you do takeout. It's fun hotpot. We got a private room in back for our big party with more food then we could eat. The mini hotpot combos give broth, two meats and a whole lotta veggies. It's a steal for all the food. I got a mini with two flavors. Go for the hot and spicy one. The tomato broth was also good. The spicy beef was perfect in the broth. Don't miss the apps. The dumplings at all of the Shu restaurants are amazing and these are no different. Loved them. And we got the spicy potatoes (which are fries) which weren't actually as spicy at the ones at Song. Service felt a bit understaffed but they came thru when we needed them. Pro tip: order noodles and then at the end of meal, add ramen noodles to soup, with some veggies and ask for a to go container. You then have lunch for next day!!

We came here for the hot pot but they have other options. They have some rice dishes and appetizers. We tried the wonton dumplings but they are just okay, I wish the sauce was more spicy and less sweet. The hot pot soup was really good. The meats and noodles for the hot pot were tasty as well. I wish they had some tofu skin but they didn't have it. Service was great, chairs in the booth were a bit rocky though. Overall a good place.

Upping this to a five because everything in my past review rings true on how great Han is. I wanted to commend Han again. I recently got to experience the big room at Han holding up to 28 people. It was a great way to have a bigger occasion which for us was a bunch of foodies enjoying hotpot together and even some trying for the first time. The manager and staff even took the time to introduce and teach "hotpot 101" by request and shared ways to prevent cross contamination. We were able to get vegetarian, gluten free, and seafood free people able to try hotpot and not have an allergic reaction. As always food is great, staff is attentive even when overall service industry has been fully utilized. Han is amazing and I'll always recommend it! Until the next big group gathering

The first time I tried hot pot was at hungry pot in Wethersfield. While that restaurant hits the spot I felt it was always lacking in depth of flavor. Not Han. Han has that amazing fresh Chinese (but the real) Chinese flavor my daughter and I search for while traveling and at home. The sauce bar is incredible and every bite I had was amazing when I mixed my garlic, chili oil and chiles together. Since we had the authentic hot pot, I don't think we'll be able to go back to the chain sadly. Han you ruined us forever with the best hot pot experience... but in the best way possible.

Sapporo Premium Beer is Japan's oldest beer brand, founded in Hokkaido in 1876 by brewer Seibei Nakagawa. Known for a crisp, refined taste with a clean, dry finish, it is a pilsner-style lager (roughly 4.7-5.2% ABV) frequently packaged in iconic silver cans. It pairs well with Japanese food and is known for its high-quality ingredients and brewing standards. It was founded in 1876 during Japan's Meiji-era modernization in Hokkaido, it is the nation's first and oldest beer. The world headquarters of Sapporo Breweries is in Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo, and it also operates a renowned museum in Sapporo. As for taste, it's a golden-colored, light-to-medium-bodied lager with mild bitterness, a subtle sweet malt aroma, and a sharp finish.. While technically a Japanese beer, many cans sold in the U.S. are brewed in places like Escondido, California, and Richmond, Virginia, Key products include Sapporo Premium Lager, Sapporo Black, and Yebisu. This is THE beer to have with this cuisine (Chengdu or Szechuan). This is good! It's ice cold too! For our appetizers, we are having the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings and Spicy Flavored Jelly Noodles which are dressed in scallions, ginger, garlic, celery and cilantro. These are good! They come with soy sauce. The noodles are made from mong beans. Mung beans (Vigna radiata) are small, green legumes native to India, widely cultivated in Asia, and known as green gram or moong bean. They are a highly nutritious, versatile ingredient, rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, used in both savory dishes (soups, curries, noodles) and sweet desserts, often sprouted for increased nutritional value. Mung beans are easy to cook, require little to no presoaking, and offer health benefits like antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. I am also having the Seafood Hot and Sour Soup (small size). This seafood soup is good! Not too spicy! It's similar to the standard Chinese hot and sour soup in taste. For my entree, i'm having the Sliced Chicken with Crunchy Rice. This is made with chicken slices, crunchy rice, black fungus, ginger, scallions, garlic, pickled chili peppers, lettuce and pea sprouts. They fold the crispy rice and put it on top. This is piping hot! Spicy too! For dessert, we are having a Chocolate Truffle (made with Zabione cream center surrounded by chocolate gelato and caramelized hazelnuts topped with cocoa powder), Cappuccino Truffle (made with cappuccino gelato with a heart of espresso covered with coffee flavored merinique sprinkles) and Capps Pistachio (custard gelato swirled with chocolate and pistachio gelato ago topped with praline pistachios). Zabaione (or zabaglione) is a classic Italian dessert made from whipped egg yolks, sugar, and sweet wine (traditionally Marsala) cooked gently over a double boiler until light, foamy, and custard-like. It can be served warm as a sauce over fruit or cookies, or chilled as a standalone dessert, often garnished with berries or biscotti. The name comes from the Venetian word for "whipped," reflecting its airy texture. These are absolutely great!

Outside is very much a busy shopping plaza in not the best part of town. Inside is a completely different story. Very clean and spacious, lots of booths and tables. Decorated well and a lot to see. The staff were friendly but there was a slight language barrier. We fumbled through the menu and found some bites to try. Food came out relatively quick, and that was a bit to manage because there were a lot of plates brought rather quickly. We got pics and dug in. The bites were flavored well. Nothing felt too greasy or under seasoned. The white pepper chicken was very crispy. But not a lot of chicken on each bite. The sweet and sour soup was both sweet and sour, but balanced enough that you could keep on eating it. The dumplings were fresh noodles and the filling was spiced well. The only flop was the spare ribs. Really tasty sauce, but very little meat on the bone. Had to suck on the bones to scrape enough meat off to make it a proper appetizer. It tasted good, just was not easy to eat. Price for the area was high for the neighborhood. It's got the quality and the flavor to command that price easily, but it doesn't match the stores. It's really good, but know that you're getting the real deal sichuan experience. Expect some heat, some saucy fingers, and some bones, and you'll get some really good bites

We got a smattering of dishes, wontons and dumplings, a sandwich and a ramen. Food came out in a reasonable wait time. We took pics and dug in. The 7 flavor dumpling was the star of the show. Light and thin dumpling wrapper, savory sweet sauce, plenty of filling. The pork dumplings were good, but the wrapper was thicker and denser. The twice cooked pork sandwich was pretty tasty, the pork needed to be more present compared to the veggies, but appreciated the crisp of the bread. The ramen had a good amount of braised beef and noodles. The broth needed a little doctoring to coax out some of the more savory notes. Broth needed more aggressive seasoning though. The price was not too bad for the area. It's kind of like dim sum, where you get a small plate for the price but it's all shareable and the flavors are good. It's not very well lit, gave the place a very dark air about it. But as a restaurant, it's pretty good. Well, there's out of Legent Bourbon so I'm settling for Maker's Mark (which is a five choice). This is filled to the top! It's made as ordered and is balanced well (fairly well)! This is very good! For my soup, I'm having the hot and sour soup. Hot and sour soup is a savory, tangy, and spicy Chinese soup known for its contrasting flavors and textures, featuring ingredients like mushrooms, tofu, bamboo shoots, and ribbons of egg in a thickened broth, typically seasoned with vinegar, soy sauce, and white pepper. It's a popular appetizer in Chinese restaurants, with variations including pork, chicken, or shrimp, and can be made vegetarian. Wow! This is good! It's nice and hot! Always add peppers to this! Out come the fried noodles with a hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce. These are good! We are also having edamame. Edamame is a popular East Asian dish of immature soybeans in the pod, typically boiled or steamed and served as a snack or appetizer, often with salt. It's a nutritious, protein-rich legume that can be enjoyed simply seasoned or incorporated into various recipes like salads, stir-fries, and noodle bowls, and can be prepared by boiling, steaming, roasting, or air-frying. These are good! Nice and salty! They are steaming hot! Literally. Next up, we are trying the crab rangoons. Crab Rangoon is a popular Chinese-American appetizer featuring a creamy filling of cream cheese, crab meat (real or imitation), and seasonings like garlic and scallions, wrapped in a wonton wrapper and deep-fried until crispy. The wontons are often folded into a star or purse shape and served with a dipping sauce, such as sweet chili or duck sauce, for a balance of rich, savory, and sweet flavors.  We are and getting the vegetable dumplings (steamed). Vegetable dumplings are savory, plant-based parcels made by filling wrappers with a mixture of finely chopped vegetables--often cabbage, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and aromatics like ginger and garlic. They can be steamed, pan-fried (potstickers), or boiled, typically taking 5-15 minutes to cook, and are usually served with soy-based dipping sauces. I love the boat dish! These are huge! They taste great! For my entree, I'm having the fish with chili oil. Sichuan Boiled Fish (Shui Zhu Yu) is a classic Chinese dish featuring tender white fish fillets poached in a savory broth and topped with a fiery, fragrant mixture of hot oil, dried chilies, and Sichuan peppercorns. The dish is characterized by its "ma la" (numbing and spicy) flavor profile, typically served over vegetables like bean sprouts. This is absolutely HUGE! I mean HUGE!!! Oh yeah, extra spicy! I mean SPICY! For my next drink, I'm having the Mango Chili Rum Runner made with Bacardi Mango Chili Rum, orange juice, pineapple juice and grenadine. It's not spicy but it tastes well balanced. In a 16ox glass?! That's means it has a lot of booze! We're also having a side order of baby bok choy. Bok choy (also called pak choi) is a fast-growing, cool-season Chinese cabbage with crisp white or green stalks and tender, smooth leaves, used in stir-fries, soups, and salads. It's a biennial plant that thrives in spring and fall, needs consistent moisture, and prefers full sun to partial shade, maturing in about 45-60 days. Key to success is planting in cool weather to prevent it from "bolting" (flowering prematurely) in the heat. These are delicious! What a great meal here!

Im back! I went during lunch time before the Valentines Day rush came in. Perfect timing! There was…read morethe lunch specials were were able to order from until 3pm or the option from the non lunch options . I was excited to see Gluten Free Calamari on there do ofcourse I had to try. Tasted very good just a bit chewy. Chewier than it should be. Our waitress was so sweet, accommodating and made sure my gluten free meal was perfect. The Hawaiian 5-0 in the gluten free version is made with a white sauce. Brown sauce isn't used. Also, my dad was happy with his lunch meal he ordered. Bbq ribs were not dry and had great flavor. Menu had great options. The restaurant is very calming when you dine in. Which is nice. Relaxing atmosphere. I do want to add that we took an order to go and later on when our friend when to Look and was ready to eat , there was no rice, she was missing her fortune cookie and 1 other item. This is the second time they have forgotten her rice in her order. She's unable to drive st this time so she can't just go and pick it up. Make sure you look at your order before leaving to make sure everything is there.
