This is the nicest hotel in the area (rumor has it) but these guys pulled out all of the stops. It is impeccably spotless and if you need anything (extra towels etc) totally helpful staff. Spending four days here it really did feel like a home away from home. The managers and desk staff are very friendly. The breakfast is a highlight. Everything is fresh and well prepared. I never eat pre-made oatmeal from a hotel and these guys made me a believer. Their coffee stand is available 24-7 which is a blessing... it is alway restocked with creamers and various sorts etc. I ended up with the mini yogurts and some oatmeal with nuts and berries.. it was better than eating at jack in the box or mcdonalds for breakfast everyday. The room I had was a king and super spacious. I had a lot to work on and the desk near the swiveling TV screen was a saver in staying up late to write reports. The bed and duvet was clean... Stayed here overnight recently in the king deluxe room with Jacuzzi and balcony. Nice and spacious, very clean. The bed was pretty hard and the towels were like cardboard, but we enjoyed the Jacuzzi and the peace and quiet while we were here. Our room was described as a pool view room; however, we only had a view of the downstairs roof. The koi pond was nice though, directly below our room. The hot breakfast was really good and had quite a variety to choose from. We also used the lounge area by the lobby to visit with family, and there was plenty of room for the six of us and we were all very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when in town. We've previously stayed at a neighboring hotel, but the Hampton wins between the two. read more

This is my first time at a Hampton Inn. If you have Hilton Honors, you can use it here. 1. Perfect location: close to the freeway and there are restaurants nearby, as well as Starbucks. 2. Very clean 3. Gym: although it says it closes at midnight, you can still access it 24 hours. It's small, but I was the only one who was there. 4. Free continental breakfast. 5. We made reservations in August. In their system, it showed up with 3 different rates and different rooms. We picked one. continental breakfast had no protien only carbs. they were doing remodeling the area leading to the only elevator on the building. This means no access to the elevator for several hours no matter what. I have bone on bone in both knees so I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to my room. The desk staff were very helpful, but the next time I tried to use the elevator it was shut off. Stairs painfully again. I know that this type of work is known about at least 6 months in advance for contacting purposes. We were not notified in any way of the work to be done. If we had we would have stayed in the hotel right next door. add to that, we didn't put the door hanger out for no room cleaning, and didn't get room cleaning. You would think that for over $200.00 per night things would be better. last time we stay at a Hampton Inn. read more

We have a small history with this Hampton Inn that is part of a major event in our lives. For several years we had wanted to move up to the Mendocino area from San Diego, and we spent 1/2 of 2007 and early 2008 coming up to the Ukiah area looking for a home. We were lucky enough that my husband had a job lined up already. So after spending a weekend at a B & B in Little River one July [ nice, but too far away ] , then a very sketchy motel in Cloverdale in Dec [ hey, it let us have our dog !! ], we had the relief & pleasure of deciding to stay here for our next 2 visits in the late winter. I can't tell you enough about the great beds-- fluffy comforter & pillows, silky smooth linens, good mattress. It was heaven... I didn't want to get up and out. But I had to -- house hunting to do! One especially tiring & fruitless day we got back after a dinner out. Got into the PJ's & cozied into" 'that bed ." Just almost asleep & alarms start going off. I'm in the dark, hitting the clock radio and John says " it's the fire alarm." So the whole place marches down to the lobby in their jammies, then out into the parking lot for a few hours. It wasn't a false alarm, but not too serious. Our room was quiet [ note alarms above ], clean, spacious. The breakfast was adequate... I didn't much care for the egg dishes, which were their hot entree's the mornings we were there. But this Hampton Inn gave us comfort in a trying time, and now that we live in Ukiah, I pass by it and those days seem long ago. read more

We recently stayed here (Thanksgiving night, as a matter of fact). It's a fairly typical Hampton Inn. We like them because you get Hilton points AND you get a free (but REALLY basic) breakfast. Generally, you also get free wifi - something quite important in todays world. The Good: - see above. The Bad: - very definitely needs updating. I mean, I know it's Ukiah, but this place is showing its age. - standard def TVs? Really? The Ugly: - that free wifi? My 300 baud modem from 1983 ran faster. Kid you not. The Funny: - this is RIGHT across the street from Wal-Mart. I swear that at 10pm Thanksgiving night, every car within a 500 mile radius was in that parking lot. A very nice Hampton Inn. The staff was friendly, the building feels very new, and the room was clean. Breakfast was good and not crowded. The morning I was there, the hotel staff had to ask a homeless guy who had wandered in for breakfast to leave -- they were humane about it and treated him well, which I appreciate. It is also worth noting that it is in a part of town that is newer and there are a few good restaurant options nearby. I would have given 5 stars, except that the wifi seemed to drop out on me a couple of times, and seemed a bit slow. I imagine that has something to do with the out-of-the-way location, but it is 2014, and I would expect they can probably get an upgraded circuit if they are willing to pay for it. read more

We have stayed in this Hotel several times. Visiting family. *BOOKING - PER PHONE: Spoke with site manager, who was Very Accommodating. Appeared to Understood our needs and our requests for a specified room. Stated that he would alert the front desk. *OUR ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN: We arrived mid-afternoon. The desk service stated that the rooms that we had specially requested were ALL occupied for that evening. Instead of having a center room, overlooking the pool we were given a side wing room, it did overlook the pool however. - Our room's location was situated in a way that we were able to view the balcony's glass slider doors of the rooms that we HAD requested. ( We were told that all these rooms were booked.) We did note that at least 2 of those rooms, that were closest to our side room, appeared to be vacant. Drapery and lighting 'appeared' to remained the same throughout our stay. - Room was Very Clean. Room was neat and tidy. Bed was comfy. Linen was fresh and crisp. Floors were clean. Bathroom/ toilet/ tub/ sink was clean. Quiet Room. Breakfast was appreciated, but nothing made it SPECIAL. PRICING: Ukiah, CA is not a tourist destination location. Parking is plenty. The lobby/reception desk is nice for not being remodeled in awhile. The young man checking us in was friendly and gave all 3 of us a water and trail mix (hubby is a Diamond member). He wanted to upgrade us, but we needed the 2 queen beds so he was not able to. The hallway and elevators are less attractive than the lobby/reception desk, but not anything to make you worry about your room too much. Walk into the room and it's not bad at first glance around. You start thinking a 3 star. But then you walk into the bathroom and the seat is up so that's weird. You look around and start to see it's very old and nasty. The more you look it's no longer about peeling wallpaper, caulking needing to be replaced, and only 1 washcloth, but it's fricken dirty and disgusting. I will not be showering here. I start to see in the room that there's dirty furniture with a wire hangar sitting on the chair. I pull back the curtains and when touching them they feel like they have been collecting dirt for 10 years. Looking closer to curtains I see they are no longer white-yuck!!! The cute desk/tv/dresser/frig cabinet/table is dirty. Not just the chapstick left behind who knows how long ago, but the white doors/shelves and the desk top. Walk over to the nightstand to put water bottle down to discover it is not only dirty, but has black hair on it. My ankles itch and I have the heebie jeebies so I would not recommend this place until they hire a better cleaning person(s) and remodel the bathrooms at the least!!!! read more

The hotel and it's staff were both fine. I was not pleased when I went down to have breakfast. No hot food. I've stayed at hundreds of Hilton properties including dozens of Hampton Inns and they've always had hot food options. They advertise breakfast is included like they normally do but they didn't say anything about cutting back to cold food only. Hotel rates have increased and I get that...it's fair and the rate is up front. Cutting back on breakfast with no notice is a rip-off and I will not be staying here ever again. read more

On Christmas Eve 2011 I was traveling with my wife and my 96 year-old mother. I'd reserved two rooms and specified that because I'm a migraineur the room for my wife and me must be scent free. The room I was given was not scent free, and although there many vacant rooms, the desk clerk would show me only one additional room-also not scent free. Eventually, a standoff ensued. When it became nasty, we returned our luggage to the car and departed. Fortunately, the evening was saved by a very pleasant and accommodating desk clerk at Fairfield Suites. She quickly gave us two scent free rooms. We stayed there two nights. Everyone who travels has bad hotel experiences: my worst are in London, Israel, Manhattan, and now Ukiah. This was totally unnecessary, however. I'm certain there were acceptable vacant rooms in the hotel; I just needed the opportunity to find one. Other hotels, including other Hampton Inns, have made the small effort required to accommodate my medical requirements. This one would not. read more

I booked through Expedia only to find out when I arrived that the hotel had sold the room that I had already reserved and paid for. The (night?) manager tried to talk me into paying the difference to get a suite so that she could offer us a room. When I told the woman that I should be upgraded for free since it was not my mistake, she told me that the mistake was by hotels.com and not her fault. I did not book through that website, but nevermind that insignificant detail. The woman acted in a rude and unprofessional way; how she became a manager in the hospitality industry is a mystery to me. Thank goodness the other hotels were not sold out or we would have been forced to pay for the upgrade. We ended up getting a suite a block away at the comfort inn, which was about $20 cheaper than the expedia deal for the regular room at the Hampton Inn. Expedia subsequently refunded my money for the Hampton Inn and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the less expensive suite and facilities at the Comfort Inn. Don't waste the extra money just because the reviews on some of the other websites show a small difference in ratings. The comfort inn was really nice and had an awesome free breakfast. read more

Well overall this place is nice, and we were happy with everything. Then started to notice a few things that might have dinged only a star such is the fitness room. I went down to get a run in and the treadmill is not functioning properly, I get it running to the speed I want and then an abrupt stop almost making me fall with a message about a motor problem, annoying but not a huge deal. The thing that really upset me is their fridge in room. It is policy to turn them off to save money, we checked with the front desk on this. Seems if they are doing this the should unplug things like the satellite box since that drains energy too but whatever. They do not tell you about this fridge policy nor do they have a simple card in room to tell you. We brought some frozen breast milk for our 1 year old son, enough for our entire stay and because we didn't know about this the milk went bad. We had not transitioned him to cows milk yet so we had to buy some and he won't drink it because he does not like the taste. So thanks Hampton Inn for causing this unneeded stress on us. read more

I absolutely enjoyed my stay here! What I really enjoyed were the cute little designs on the paper cups & sleeves. They had 2 lippie ones & 2 mustaches. And there were 4 different colored & design for each sleeve! ~Location It's located in a decent area. There's a Starbucks & an Italian restaurant right next door, as well as a Walmart right across the street. Parking was always easy to find. ~Rooms/Design & interior This hotel is fairly old, but they did a good job on maintaining most of it. The lobby & breakfast area gives off a very warm & cozy vibe, so it makes me feel like I'm right at home. The only reason I can say that it's one of the older hotels is by looking at the ac in the room. The ac is right by the window & it is super loud. We tried to turn it off at night, but it was impossible to sleep because the room would get super stuffy. Other than the ac, the rooms were very spacious and well kept. **Note: if you want to use the fridge in your room, don't forget to turn it on! They turn it off to save energy, which is a good thing. There's a switch right when you open the fridge door. ~Breakfast It's like the usual stuff that every other hotels have, which is a good thing because I'm not complaining. I love waking up to breakfast! There's scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, make-your-own waffles (which is great, because you can make a smaller portion if you want), assorted pastries, bagels, cereal, coffee, tea. Mmm, nothing like a hot breakfast to start the day. **Note: They provide hot water, tea, & coffee throughout the entire day; it's right by the main desk! ~Pool Right when you step out, there's a little koi pond. The pool looks very clean, but the water in the jacuzzi looked a little off. But overall, everything was very tidy. read more

Positives first, the price is right, especially for the area. The room was large. Ours had a mini fridge and a microwave. The pool, which we arrived a little too late to make use of, was really quite lovely. But there were a few things that would make me personally try to find something else before staying here again. The room, while mostly fairly clean, had a rough, industrial like carpet that seemed dirty to me, almost sticky. It kind of grossed me out. The free breakfast was middle of the road, not especially appealing, but fine for grabbing a cup of orange juice and hitting the road. The coffee was bad, but that wasn't a huge surprise. I was also totally annoyed by the fox news with sound on in the breakfast room. Not even because of the politics, though, I'll admit, they aren't my politics. Mostly just because of the grating, grating voices. I think I would have been almost as annoyed at that hour with any of those bombastic cable "news" channels. I'll always associate this Hampton Inn, and perhaps all of them now, with terrible terrible coffee and very grating voices, much too early in the morning. It is my personal opinion that generic hotels should stick to neutral programming, preferably on mute, in common areas. Is that really too much to ask for? read more

The number one best reason to stay here is the quiet. This is the first hotel I've been to in quite a while where I didn't hear my neighbors. At all. No elevator noise. No voices drifting in from the halls. No toilets flushing or headboards banging. There is only blissful silence. The walls must be thick. You do hear some noise from the pool, but that ends early enough in the evening (9 pm) to ensure a goodnight's sleep. All the rooms face the pool, and thus have as view. Most also have a balcony. The only thing you have to watch is whether or not you get a smoking room or not. We were lucky enough to get a nonsmoking one, but were unpleasantly surprised to see someone smoking at the pool.The hotel is really clean and the rooms are a decent size. It's also convenient to the freeway and to amenities like Starbucks and the Italian steakhouse next door. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Update: The last few time we stayed here, it wasn't the best experience. The air conditioners are getting old and are loud; we found it difficult to sleep. Opening our window wasn't an option because of the street noise. Wi Fi has been spotty. The breakfast has also been subpar. We switched up and now stay at the Comfort Inn next door. Much quieter and better breakfast for less money. The wi-fi is much better, too. read more

Rooms are fine but the rudeness of the front desk was the worst I've ever experienced. The night guy who called himself 'Salem' was the most obnoxious asshole I've ever experienced in I don't know maybe 300-400 hotel stays in my life. Don't stay here and risk having to deal with it. It's also very overpriced for 1) being in the middle of nowhere and more importantly 2) downright obnoxious customer service. For those interested I asked for a 1 hour late checkout which not only was not granted but I was effectively called me a prick for even asking. Never seen this level of asshole service in my life. Doing the Sideways in the ARV and RRV, grabbed a quick bite and just checked in. Now I'm listening to the world's worst jazz jam band playing next door at " Crush". I wish they knew more than two chords because it is going to be a long night. Of course the front desk has never heard a complaint about noise coming from the restaurant next door...and "they are not affiliated with the hotel". Oh really, I guess that absolves Hampton Inn for booking me into this room. Alright then Conrad, I'll voice my concerns on Yelp. Wait a little whammy bar just happened and the drummer just did a crappy little solo...but the bass is still playing the same not so funky line he started with 60 minutes ago. I'm already a fan of the Hampton Inn, so maybe this will come off a little biased. But the Hampton Inn really steps its game up in Ukiah! I was first shocked to see how pretty the environment around Ukiah was. Then I saw my hotel. Lovely entryway and meeting area. Fancy koi pond and garden in the back. They also have a restaurant, I hear. My room, although on the first floor and facing the street, didn't seem like a standard Hampton Inn room. Nice artwork on the walls and lots and lots of mirrors (essential for an egomaniac like myself). And this time the curtains closed completely (a must, I guess, if you're placed on the first floor facing the street...). The hotel itself is somewhat unfortunately situated. Your view will likely be of the hotel just across the way (the place my coworkers had to stay... suckers!) or the Wal-Mart across the street. If you're lucky, though, maybe you'll get a view of the mountains (or are they hills??)! It's probably not true, but I felt like the breakfast here was better than at other Hampton Inns I've stayed at. Better selection perhaps. Didn't get to try out the pool or jacuzzi (wish it was open later), but I did check out the fitness room. A little lacking, but it had a treadmill which is enough for me. I'm such a nerd I would come back to stay here even if I wasn't staying overnight for work or had to pay for it myself! read more

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at this Hampton Inn. We are diamond members with Hilton Honors and have stayed many nights in a Hampton Inn. This one is a class above the standard Hampton Inn. The hotel fits in very well with the wine country area with its Tuscan feel. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast was decent. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Nice hotel and I would give them more stars except that they don't provide caffinated coffee in the room. I checked in and noticed that my room is only stocked with de-caf coffee. I ask at front desk for real coffee and I'm told that they only have de-caf in the rooms. Really? I got desperate and started asking other hotel guests if maybe they had caffinated coffee they might be willing to give me because I was stuck with de-caf. It's just plain cruel to offer in-room coffee but no caffeine! Come on guys!!! I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning when I won't be enjoying coffee in my room. Update: my travel partner who doesn't drink coffee gave me his coffee packets. That should make my 5:30 am departure a bit nicer (they don't serve breakfast til 6). Always wonderful customer service and well kept rooms. Hampton Inn is normally at the bottom of the Hilton lineup in terms of amenities and quality, but Ukiah's Hampton is the best I've stayed in. It must be considered the best mainstream Hotel in Mendocino County. read more

We received excellent service from the front desk/ concierge, who helped us with our large load and made suggestions for safe storage. Its a nice neighborhood anyway, so wasn't a problem of security. Would be a safe, comfortable lodging for families or women traveling alone. Very clean, spacious, comfortable room. A little noisy in the wee hours of the morning, we were underneath a very enthusiastic customer, or else it was janitorial room. I thought the breakfast was good, but felt extremely sick a few hours later, food poisoning? omelette? You never really definitely know when traveling , Im starting to lean towards cereals and coffee at all buffets. I would stay here again. read more

I love this place. The location is perfect. Across the street is Walmart for anything you forgot to pack. Walking distance to fancy steak house or laid back Applebee's. Easy access to freeway to go north or south. The rooms are clean and quite. I usually get the spa tub room. The pool is nice and the koi ponds are relaxing to just watch from your balcony or the pool area. When I don't want to go far but want to get away from home this is my spot. read more

The hotel is clean, comfy beds and a good size bathroom. We didn't get to breakfast until about 9:45am, so the eggs weren't looking good and there was no more bacon. Made my own waffle and had some other goodies..which were adequate. My only complaint is that, even though, we were at the end of the hall...you can still here the ice machine in the morning. On the 3rd floor, there are refrigerators in the rooms and it woke me up several times plus we had to run the air conditioner, since it was a bit warm and that was loud, as well. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. A few days after my one night stay, I noticed a mysterious $754 charge from the hotel on my credit card. Upon calling the hotel, it was revealed that my credit card information was used to charge a STRANGER's four night stay. Not only was my credit card information compromised once. Instead of reimbursing me the charge, I was accidentally charged a SECOND time for $754. I had to shut down my credit card and file a fraudulent claim as a result. Stay away from this hotel. The manager and Hilton Guest Services reps were not helpful and did not offer any type of reimbursement for my trouble. read more
