We booked 2 rooms for our family. Both were "non-smoking" rooms & reeked of cigarette smoke. No continental breakfast & swimming pool closed indefinitely. Rooms were clean with fresh bedding & towels, plenty of parking, beds were comfortable & the place was quiet. There is a good restaurant across the highway & on Main Street in Upper Lake. Pizza parlor about a block away. The place has gone downhill & I would not stay there again & would not recommend to anyone who cares about a stinky room. I went to the store & bought a can of Febreze, sprayed half of it in my room & still it smelled bad. Turned on the fan & left it on all night to bring in fresh air from outside. It is the cheapest place in the area but there are better places nearby. You get what you pay for. read more

I was able to book a 3 night stay here for 4th of July through hotels.com. It's not the best hotel I've stayed at. There's plenty of hotel parking. The room was clean with fresh sheets and towels, bed was comfy enough. My partner and I noticed the window blinds were broken on one side which prevented full privacy or letting in the natural daylight. The room provided a decent quality microwave and fridge w/ freezer. However, the fridge w/ freezer wasn't working. If I needed to keep any liquids cold, I had to put it on ice with the provided ice bucket. The room would get pretty hot, so my partner and I would blast the AC but felt like the AC wasn't working all that well. My partner ended up getting sick during this trip. The owner and staff were accommodating upon any housekeeping needs though. Checking in and out was pretty quick. This hotel needs quite a few improvements. read more

Hotel is convenient for us for our trip as it is halfway but I don't know if I would ever want to stay here again. Its very obvious that nothing way cleaned or at least cleaned well. There was a red substance leading from the bathroom to the sink. It was bright red still letting me know it was new. I stepped in it when I wasn't looking and it was sticky. There is dust along the back of the headboard and old dog food behind the side table. If you are going to charge a pet fee, clean after the pet otherwise what am I paying for? There was a hair hanging from the blow-dryer and a hair in the shower towards the back of the tub. Just gross. I would have had my boyfriend go ask for a new room but im not optimistic any of the other rooms would be better. On the good notes, there is a TV, fridge, and microwave in the room. There is also a nice grassy area in the back where you can take pets potty. I don't mind staying at cheap hotels/motels but this is the first time where I legitimately just would have rather not stopped. read more

We were evacuated on 10/04/24, while other hotels were price gouging we went by here and the new management was amazing and understanding. They made exceptions for our family of 5 with only having 2 queen beds. They were considerate and helpful. I would most definitely stay here again. They didn't over charge, infact they gave us a discount even though they didn't have to. Thank you so very much for being our Solice while we're were overly stressed out. read more

The pictures on the website are misleading. I understand marketing, so I'm not surprised with the pictures on the web. But, I'm pretty sure that there are laws requiring smoke detectors in every room. (See picture) The website states the room sleeps 4. The pullout couch was barely a twin size bed. Not to mention the haphazard way the bed was made up. The rollaway in the room was also not made up very well, and my son said it was extremely uncomfortable. The King bed was fine and fairly comfortable. I definitely would not stay there again. So, there's no way I can recommend this hotel. And looking through the pictures to attach reminded me that the room key came inside a tattered paper holder which had obviously been used before. read more

Reason for the four star is that there's always room for improvement. With that being said, outside of some cosmetic issues, we had a very nice experience here. Showed up around midnight, and Vic checked us in. As exhausted as we were, he had us laughing up a storm. We checked into room 108. We were super impressed with the room, considering what we paid. Very clean, with a comfortable king sized bed. The sheets AND comforter are the types that are washable/bleachable which is HUGE! The gigantic jacuzzi tub was an unexpected surprise. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to utilize it, but I'm sure it would have been awesome. With a standard Continental breakfast to get us on our way, I couldn't have asked for much more. My daughter and my to small grandkids came for a visit, they checked into their room, which wasn't ready by check in. She had to wait an hour. When she could check in, we got to the room, the outside of the door was filthy, the inside of the door was the same. The wall behind door was gross . Worn out appliances, worn out shower curtain. All this for 150.00. I am so embarrassed I suggested this gross place, and will never again. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It states on there website and the 3rd party website they have a pool which Has been closed for 3 years, free breakfast which they don't and they don't have cleaning services. The man at the front desk was extremely rude I brought my dog which on the website said no additional fee for dogs so I paid 15 for her as well. We get into the room and it doesn't look clean and there was wholes in the walls and a gap under the door which you could see outside. I wouldn't recommend this place to absolutely anyone. We left after an hour and not only did the manager refuse to refund up but I also have a charge for 107.52 from the hotel not the 3rd party I booked through after checking in that he said he didn't do and I needed to call the 3rd party which I did and they had no record of and it had to be the hotel. This is a relatively small hotel, but it is well kept and the rooms are clean and modern. I would stay here again. The manager, Vic, is exceptional! He was friendly and welcoming. He saw my friend wheeling her suitcase to her car...he offered to help her. When he saw that I was entering the office to check out, he met me at the door, knew my room number (even though I had only one encounter with him), and bid me farewell. Had a project in the area that lasted weeks longer than I expected, so I spent most of January living at the Super 8 with my boyfriend and dog. The room was very nice. A lot nicer than I expected a Super 8 to be! The housekeeping staff and general manager Kevin, all very friendly and accommodating. I stayed previously in 2 other motels in the area and found them very disappointing (okay, and also kind of gross). Will definitely stay at the Super 8 if I have business in the area again. It's worth the extra $20-$30 per night. read more

Our room was clean. Everything worked properly. This is the important part of every motel room. So, that's first. The sheets are nice. Not the best in the world but really nice for a discount hotel franchise. The room has been recently painted and the furniture seems fairly recent. The room is small. But, no smaller than any other at this price. There is a 24 hour front desk. Friendly staff and owner. Pool also looks clean and well maintained. I travel with two small dogs. So, I have a high power UV light that I use to find their pee accidents. Thus, I often check the room with it. This room didn't even have fingerprints on the light switches. Which even high end hotels usually do. Whoever cleans these rooms is a little particular about clean. Thank the gods. I'm writing the review because I was expecting a dump in this area. I am pleasantly surprised. The over the top for me was how really helpful and friendly they were to my husband and I. The price could have been a little better, but, overall. A good place. read more

Nearly the worst, only positive was the room was clean. The cons; room furnishings run down, cigarette burns on the tub, hole in chair, tiny tv. The water closet is so tiny my butt rubs the TP, I have 36 inch waist. However the worst by far is the cigarette smoke, the room has old style heat/air unit under the window, the return air is outside air, so as people smoke outside their rooms the smoke is sucked into the room, this happens even if the unit is off. Ok hotel but didn't feel COVID safe. In the small reception area a customer walked in not wearing a mask. I thought it would have been appropriate for the reception to tell her to step outside but she said nothing. Also they did not leave soap in the room so we got some from housecleaning, and some of them were not wearing masks either. read more

Get in early this place is usually packed, they have a sister hotel about 24 miles away with very similar quality of service. Owned by the same family I think. Everything is modern, clean and about average priced for what it is. They have the "jack pack" plugins for laptops and game systems that are the same ones installed in four seasons hotel in Toronto. Very cozy with mini fridge and microwave. Great at the end of a long work day. read more

Nice place. Mediocre neighborhood. The rooms were updated and clean. Bedding and towels appeared new. The owners were hard to understand because of their accents but they were very pleasant. On our last night there, the following morning, a small child was allowed to run back and forth across the second floor outdoor hallway, boom, boom, boom, back and forth starting at 6 am. Later found out he was the child of the owners. The only bad thing was the room smelled bad. Especially if you were sitting on the bed, it was not good, if you laced down you had to keep your nose pointed upwards. Not the bedding, the floor apparently was the source. I never write bad reviews but this location deserves it. So I walked into the lobby to book two rooms for a night. The lady at the front desk rudely stated they were fully booked. (This was during covid times and I was wearing a mask. There were two lady's at the desk, one of which wasn't wearing a mask.) I walked out and was looking for more rooms online through a third party and was able to book two rooms at the same location no problem. When I walked back in I asked why I was denied the same lady at the desk stated she had four cancellations in the matter of two minutes...BS right? Regardless I was tired and stayed at this location anyways. The rooms weren't clean as they used to be and the non-smoking room stank of weed. This hotel has a conflict of policy of cancellation. When I book it said 24 hours. but when i try to cancel . it say 72 hours.

I have stayed here at least 4 times. The rooms are big, beds are soft and the service is good. They have wifi which is always a must have. Got a pool which they all have. For a small town it's ok. read more

We helped a very elderly woman who was lost and exhausted late in the evening who had showed up at the lodge we were staying at about 10 miles from Super 8 since the lodge had no vacancy. The owners of Super 8 were very accommodating and compassionate as we helped her check in to get some sleep. They charged her a fair price as well. Thank you! read more

Stayed her on our way to Oregon. I had been searching for something large dog friendly for quite awhile. I was looking anywhere from there to Ukiah. The reviews on most of the places in Ukiah talked about cigarette smoke and smell. Also homeless people hanging out. So after much research I decided this would be the best place I was traveling with others and was worried about it not being ok. I was pleasantly surprised ! The location was convenient and didn't seem sketchy like some of the other options. The girl at check in was super nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and seem like they had been updated. The bathroom was tiny but the area were the sink and mirror were was plenty big. There was damage to the baseboard behind the door in the bathroom that looked kind of bad. Yes there were a couple of stains on the floor and chair. Nothing that was a big deal. Breakfast was not the best but I didn't expect it to be. For the price it was more than adequate. No smoke smell and my daughter 95 pound dog was very happy I would definitely stay again read more

This hotel was GREAT! Came to visit family in Lakeport & couldn't find a descent place to stay within Lakeport SO GLAD we decided to drive into Upper Lake. Room was super clean! I was pretty impressed how clean & roomy our room was. We had plenty of towels & soap. Room came with a microwave, TV, & mini frig; everything was spotless & worked great! Front desk clerk was very helpful & accommodating. Continental breakfast was included but pretty basic. Could have been a little better. Cereal, milk, toast, juice, make ur own waffles, instant oatmeal, tea, & coffee. We'll be recommending this location to family & friends. We will for sure be staying here again! read more

I've stayed in many Super 8's over the years and have a lowered expectation for this chain, but when we walked through the door to our room, we had to step out and be sure we were at the right place. We were traveling north. My wife and I needed a place to crash for the night. We looked all over and finally found this place. We called and booked a room for the night. When we got to the motel they had lost the reservation and suddenly the price had jumped 50 percent. In retrospect it was probably the corporate office and not the people at this locations fault. We recently stayed at the super 8 in upper lake and found the staff to be incredibly helpful and pleasant. My son was getting married nearby and many of the wedding goers stayed there also. The rooms were clean and everything was in good working order. Mostly I was impressed with how nice and accommodating the staff was. read more
