We checked in on a Thursday afternoon, greeted by Robert behind the front desk. Robert is wonderful; cheerful and welcoming. Unfortunately, we found out that our room booked through hotels.com was different than what the hotel property had reserved. We booked a studio room but the property had us booked as a room with two queen beds. The size difference was noticeable. Apparently, the hotels.com booking system has been having issues with this property. I hope they fix that. Robert behind the front desk was wonderful, apologizing for the mix up and reducing our rate for the incorrect room. I also appreciate Robert for getting milk for my infant. It was almost 11:00 pm at night and we needed milk. Robert was able to get milk for the child and all was well! Highly recommend this property based on the way Robert cared for us, even with this room reservation mix up. If you use a third party booking, call the property direct to make sure your reservation is accurate. This is a recurring problem. Pool was lovely! Big hit with my kids. Best hotel experience of my life. I checked in expecting a quiet night, but instead I apparently booked a room in a paranormal circus. Around midnight, my door flew open and a group of homeless men rushed in like they owned the place. Somehow they managed to start a campfire in the middle of the room and began dancing around it like they were performing some kind of ancient ritual. They kept yelling: "King cobra wearing sombrero eating almond joy and KitKats." I don't know what that means, and I don't want to know. But I loved it they were so so entertaining and I needed a good laugh since the wife of 1 week left me for my cat big Billy. Then the ghosts showed up. They were everywhere -- pointing, laughing, and haunting the entire hotel while whispering one name over and over: "Robert." The elevators stopped working, the lights flickered, a woman began chasing me around which was super fun, haven't worked up a sweat like that since Vietnam. The whole building felt like it had been taken over by a very strange curse. I was sad I had to leave in the morning but Siri called me asking for more toilet paper and I had to jet out of there so I went to Walmart where they had my space shuttle start up fluid and went all the way back to where I'm from Pluto. Located just off highway 101, the Hampton Inn Ukiah was easy to find with plenty of parking. We got a friendly greeting and the clerk did a good job of finding rooms for us and our friends that were close together. Good to see that they had luggage carts because we had an assortment of travel and grocery bags and boxes to deal with and a rather long trek to our rooms. Our rooms were pretty nice but we must have had a family with kids above us that were wound up from their adventures. We heard them scampering around long after 11pm. What you gonna do? The bed was very comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. The TV had lots of channels and we found some movies we enjoyed. Breakfast started at 6am downstairs. They had a great assortment of vittles. I tried the pre-made cheese omelet with a few potatoes and some sausage slices. Pretty good, but the omelet could have used some salsa. I went back for a couple of the mini waffles. They offered malted vanilla of cinnamon roll flavor batter. After 3 minutes in the waffle iron, they are ready to go. The chocolate and caramel syrup were too thick to dispense from their squirt bottles, but the raspberry topping flowed easily and the whipped cream can had plenty of propellant. Back in our room, the 2 sinks had good lighting for getting yourself ready for the day. Not too impressed with the shower / bathtub setup, though. The tub diverter that you pull up to direct water to the shower head didn't seal well. Half of the shower water went past it into the tub. Not impressed with the toilet, either. It sits too close to the floor, like it was designed for a child. Also, it's placed too close to the sink counter. The toilet seat was loose, too, making it more of a challenge when sitting down. We mentioned that to the clerk, so hopefully, it will be fixed. The balcony was tiny, with 1 plastic chair & table. The view consisted of the street below and the parking lot across the street. The glass door and the screen door were very hard to slide in their tracks. Best to avoid the balcony altogether. Anyway, the place was very clean and attractive. The pool area was very inviting but we didn't have time to enjoy it. Maybe next time. read more

Easy to find & a large parking lot. We were greeted as we entered and clerk was very friendly and answered all my questions. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Had a small balcony with table & chair but couldn't open the balcony door so guess just for show. Bathroom was clean but toilet was very very low like kid sized and was crowded tightly between wall and vanity. The shower worked but turning on water lots of black dirt looking stuff came pouring out and I'd say at least half the water didn't get to shower head just went out the faucet. The breakfast the next morning was very nice eggs/sausage/potatos were delicous and the waffle iron made 4 small waffles at a time-the canned whipped cream and flavored sauces to top them with was a nice added touch. They had a nice looking pool but didn't have time to try it. read more

My concerns are as follows: 1. I specifically booked a king room with a tub, as advertised on your website and app (including photos). This was the primary reason I chose this room and hotel. Upon arrival, I was informed by the front desk that the rooms had been renovated and only the two-bed rooms now have tubs, which was not disclosed during booking. 2. The room was dirty, as shown in the attached photos. 3. The air conditioning unit made a loud, disruptive noise throughout the night, forcing me to turn it off to sleep, which resulted in the room becoming uncomfortably hot. Other things to mention- no towels at pool - took atleast 30 min and being asked twice for the fromt desk employee robert to bring some out Considering these issues, the $183 nightly rate feels unreasonable given the experience. I would appreciate a prompt response and a resolution. read more

Amazing! Hampton Inn Ukiah! You have out done yourself. From the threshold to threshold. Our stay was amazing! Entering the hotel, with pleasant customer service and plenty of coffee to warm us up after a long three hour drive hit just right! Upon entering our large modern king room, we enjoyed: fire place( should be part of every Hilton experience) , balcony, fridge and microwave. The bathroom also exceeded our expectation- with his and her mirrors; plenty of hooks and towel holders; and large closet space. We really appreciated the flooring in the entry way with the coat rack( this should be part of every Hilton experience). Morning hospitality was nice as well. More warm coffee and breakfast hit the spot for our drive home. Amazing! Hilton experience as expected but this experience one of the best Hilton experiences I've had this year. My only concern was there may have been a pet in the room so maybe having separate rooms for pet owners would be appreciated. Again thank you for an amazing stay! read more

We thought we would spend a little extra and get the studio king with a pool view. We thought it would be nice, well for this location everything was not nice. During check-in the male staff member was not welcoming, when confirming the location of the room he stated that's all they had. When we arrived in the room there was no pool view. The pool was covered and we looked dead center at the roof over the pool. As you can see from the photos you will see the roof, you can also see that this was lacking furniture and decor. The air-conditioner fan was broken and after running for a bit it smelled as if it was burning. We went to the store to buy our fan to k circulate the air from the window. Mind you the rude male staff member said this was all they had available. With the cool air, we were happy with our solution. But wait it did not stop there the fireplace was also broken and would randomly turn on whenever it desired. The bathroom was so tiny you had no room to sit on the toilet. The maid also did not place soap in the actual bathroom, if you wanted to wash your hands you would have to use the sink located outside of the restroom. Until this location is improved, I cannot recommend staying here. The value is deplorable due to the low quality of its staff members and mantanice of its rooms, and artificial advertisement of its rooms. read more

I set up a room block for my wedding about 10 months in advance with this hotel and it was a complete disaster. From disconnected phone lines (for weeks I couldn't call) high employee turnover (talked to 4 different reps while planning the wedding, and none really took ownership/responsibility), multiple emails left with no response. I was upset, but not to the point of a review. But then I find out they gave away one of my guests rooms. She was only there for one night, and they probably gave it to someone who would stay longer. Not to mention this guest was 6 months pregnant. On the day of my wedding we had to find a place for her, as if that day isn't busy enough. This hotel totally dropped the ball. read more

The hotel layout is the worst. Elevator is at one end of the building, and the room given to us was at the opposite end. After a long day of travel, we carried all of our luggage to the room only to discover the toilet was clogged. Rude male night shift employee grudgingly said he only had one other room on a different floor and opposite end. That move took us some time and could have been avoided is housekeeping would have reported the toilet issue. Desk employee said he would give a 10% credit for the inconvenience, but it did not happen. As we were checking out 2 days later, I mentioned it to the day manager and she said she would check on it. Well it has been 4 days, no credit for that screwy inconvenience. The TV channel selection was very limited as well Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. read more

Stayed here due to work and the place was really nice. The back pool area and koi pond made me feel like I was in a lot nicer place. Only bad thing I elected to get a 1st floor room. I wake up and look out the window there was a pile of garbage next to the window that wasn't there in the evening. I later open the window for air and boom some homeless person was sleeping there. It scared the crap out of me and I think I scared him. Just make sure and get 2nd floor room or above. Everything else was really nice. read more

So fumigating / tenting our home for termites evicted us so we embarked on a 2 day adventure. Our first stop was in Ukiah. Check in was super easy with the app. Heck even the digital key worked (I still get a physical card as it can be hit or miss). The person manning the front was pleasant and efficient. The room was spotless. We have a COVID cleaning routine where we literally wipe down everything so shoddy housekeeping is obvious quickly. Spotless and no issues. I am not a fan of the prefilled attached to the wall pumps but we bring our own stuff anyway. Plenty of parking and located next to several eateries, a quickstop and our favorite, Costco read more

This is a great place to stay on the way to the Anderson valley wine country or on the way to Mendocino. It's a comfy clean hotel right off 101. A nice pool and hot tub area and a hot self serve breakfast. All at a reasonable price. Save the $ for the first night and have a close launchpad for the day ahead. I recommend it as a great place to crash the night before a fun weekend in Mendocino. It across the street from a Walmart and a Costco, if you need anything at all. My first night and only stay here I was greeted by a man behind the desk who made fun of my name and was more interested in talking to his coworker than helping me get checked in. Room 336 had an awful smell like it was dirty. It was also very loud. I was woken up over and over to doors slamming and loud conversation. The plug in the bathtub broke as I was trying to fill the tub. And when I was drying my hair in the bathroom I noticed the toilet was dirty. It was gross. Don't stay here. It was a fine place to stay the night. Minimal furnishings, I believe you pay the same for a king room whether or not you get a balcony, fireplace, or a big tub in your room. I thought I was getting those & requested them when I reserved the room a couple of weeks before. But they are not guaranteed. It was clean but a little worn. Away from the hotel it is a dark area to walk your dog around at night. Lackadaisical front desk. The digital check in doesn't tell you about your room except for the beds & location. This was my second stay here and both times the room was dirty. This time the carpet was not vacuumed and I kept stepping on stuff like bits of peanut and who knows what else. Sitting at the desk area I looked up and saw something (you can figure it out) that was a hardened yellowish liquid on the mirror frame. I am Hilton Gold. This is the only Hilton between Arcata in the far north of California and the wine country areas in various directions from Santa Rosa, so I gave it a try for one night on my travel route. I had checked in online (unfortunately the app gives no info to allow knowledgable room choices) , but wanted a physical key, which I was offered by the friendly young male clerk (I didn't get his name, was wearing dark nail polish). My gold status was acnowledged by an offer to pick one of the offered snacks (I chose a diet coke). I was told about breakfast but didn't go. My room 212 unfortunately smelled bad (like dirty feet), when I opened the door, though the room physically looked clean. I was too tired after travel to go ask for another room (many were available), and since the window opened, I just aired it out and stayed. That side of rooms along Airport Avenue gets a lot of street noise. Everything (including the welcome bath tub plug worked, but the attached wall hair conditioner dispensary had nothing in it. I told a different clerk at checkout about that (he oddly said that could not be possible) and the foul smell. There are many nearby dinner options, from fast food to fancy (restaurant MICA next door), Applebees kiddy-corner easy stroll. Neighborhood looks safe, with normal middle class working people. I will return if I am back in the area, but will pick a room in a different location. read more

Stayed here this past weekend (June 25-27, 2021). All was as I've come to expect from Hampton Inn Ukiah. (Very good) However, one word of caution for anyone thinking about staying here:. I would estimate only 1 out of 4 guests were wearing masks inside, despite signage everywhere in the hotel saying masks are required. For my family, this wasn't a huge deal. We are vaccinated. We choose to continue wearing masks indoors. I respect people's right to mask up or not. It's no longer a requirement in CA so it's not my business to call them out. But, for some travelling from the Bay Area regions where mask compliance and vaccination rates are high, this may be of concern to you. I just wanted to point this out as it would be difficult to gauge just by looking at hotel ratings. Another note: The pool is open, but is limited to 10 people at any given time. They have a sign-up sheet at the Front Desk. You give them your room number and how many guests will be using the pool area and they will book you for hour-long time-slots. We were here on a very hot weekend, but found no issue getting time-slots. read more

This is just about the best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in CA. The area where it's located is nice and surprisingly quiet. Lots of businesses close by to eat or shop. My room was clean with lots of amenities that other Hampton Inns don't offer anymore. Employees were very nice and helpful. They even have a pond with Koi fish next to the pool. A nice relief from a the "quaint" hotels on the rest of my trip. This is one of those places where you don't have to carefully spend all night trying to avoid touching the duvet. It's perfectly clean and well-maintained. Additionally, I made a mistake with my reservations, and one of the staff, Andreas(?) handled it really well. Signs everywhere saying guests must wear masks but every time I'm in the lobby 2 of 3 staff have masks under their nose. Even at check in the mask was under nose. It feels unsafe when you see this upon arrival a d throughout. At least require for employees and guests. On a positive note the rooms were clean and so was the lobby. Nice hotel in an out of the way location. We stayed here for a wedding. The service was good. We made a reservation which was smart as they were totally sold out. We asked about early checkin. They were fine with it but asked us to call as we got close so they could have a room ready .We were able to checkin without any problems two hours early. Call ahead so they can have a room ready. The room was large and spacious. There were two sinks. One was outside of the shower and toilet area which made it very convenient for us to get ready for the wedding without bumping into each other. The air conditioning worked perfectly once in the room I wasn't aware of the outside temperature of 95 degrees. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bed was firm but not hard. The pillows were easily molded. There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The hairdryer was poor. There was not a safe in the room. If I'm back in Ukiah again, I will definitely stay here. If you are looking for a place to stay in you, I'd recommend you consider it. read more

The worst experience I have had with a hotel, a 0 star would have been more appropriate. This would have been my first stay at a Hampton Inn, they have lost my business for ever. I booked a room a month ahead for June 1, 2022 for the Ukiah, CA location. I arrived at night after a flight and 8 hours of driving - only to be told the manager had canceled my reservation due to "overbooking". This "manager" didn't bother to inform me of this decision, just asked his staff to let me know when I arrived (at 10PM!!). The employee suggested I go to a neighboring hotel. They did not bother to locate another room for me or do anything to handle the situation. Considering this a service industry, I can't even imagine how a professional employee would think it's okay to bump off a customer arbitrarily with no heads up and no compensation. At 10pm just as I was looking for a break from driving and a late dinner, I had to take my bags back to my car and go looking for another place - after having a confirmed reservation for a month. My reservation was made through Hotels.com, who immediately notifies the hotel of a booking. The Hotels.com staff apologized to me for this problem although they had done nothing wrong, but the manager at the HI did not reach out or do anything to address the situation. read more

3.5 stars. Overall I had a good stay at this Hampton Inn. Pros: 1. Free breakfast, including to go bags at the front desk which includes some fruit, a pastry, and a water bottle. 2. Hot water and coffee always available at the front desk. 3. Across the street from Walmart. (I hate Walmart, but if you need supplies, at least it's walking distance.) 4. Across the street from Starbucks. 5. Close to Hwy 101. 6. Clean and spacious rooms with a fridge and microwave. And my room had 2 sinks, one inside the bathroom and one outside, so it made it easier for 4 women to get ready on time. (I reserved a room with 2 queen beds and a balcony.) 7. Decent gym with 3 machines and free weights. 8. Friendly staff. Cons: 1. The savory items at breakfast aren't tasty. They need to do a focus group on that. I guess they are trying to be different by serving up eggs in a different way, but they don't look good. I would rather have them just scrambled. The other items available, especially the waffles, are good. 2. Our room had a funky smell, like old bologna. I think it's because they steam-cleaned the carpet, but didn't dry it thoroughly. We sprayed Lysol into the vent and covered it with a wet towel. Still didn't work. And we couldn't leave the balcony door open because it was too cold outside. 3. Far from the downtown area. And don't even think about getting a ride-share. Either drive or find a number for a local cab company before heading out. From the looks of things, it looks like they're going to build more stores in that block. I foresee it being a more walkable area after the construction is finished. And it was really quiet during our stay there. Though I have to note my stay was from a Sunday-Tuesday and not during tourist season. I am a Hilton Honors member, so I would stay here again considering I usually get a good deal. read more

A friend and I were taking a "girls only" road trip up the California coast and we stayed one night at the Hampton Inn Ukiah. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and in a safe location (with a convenient 24 hour Walmart literally right across the street). We found the beds to be nice and comfy and the a/c worked great. As with all Hampton Inns, we had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Free wi-fi was a welcome plus as well as the complimentary hot breakfast in the morning. Lots of free parking and the parking lot was well-lit and felt very safe. This is the perfect choice for a one night hotel stay if you are just passing through the area. read more

Way back when my parents moved from Hopland back to Ukiah they downsized from 4 bedrooms to 3 meaning that when my family migrates back for the holidays there are fewer beds than before and it's a fight for even just floor space. As I've gotten older (and married off) most of the siblings have gotten wiser and have moved onto booking hotel rooms in town. Over the years I've stayed at just about every hotel in town. By far my favorite is the Hampton Inn. The hotel is located on the south side of Ukiah right across the street from Walmart (don't laugh) and right next door to Ukiah's newest Italian steakhouse (which I have yet to try). The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds are soft and inviting and the climate control actually works and easy to operate. Many of the rooms have small balcony's and a few even have a gas fireplace. All the accommodations provide a nice high definition television with service provided by Direct TV (not easy to operate). Your room price also includes free breakfast and complimentary wifi (it's slow, but good enough for checking your email and approving Yelp compliments). The breakfast is fine, but if you are feeling adventurous head into downtown and check out the Maple Cafe where you can score some of the best bacon around. If your travels bring you here during the summer (which in Ukiah is hot as Hell), there is a nice pool area. For you health-nuts, there is a small workout area on the first floor. For the price (average $89 per night AAA discount), this hotel is well worth the price. It's easily accessible from the freeway and there are plenty of dining options (in all price ranges) within a few minutes from here. read more
