Very tranquil and peaceful deserted hot springs. $50/ day to use to various pools and saunas. Clothing optional. You have to bring your own towels and your own food if you want any food or snacks. It was really nice. It could've been a little cleaner is my only complaint.

Complete relaxation and rejuvenation in a non judgmental and unpretentious environment. No one wore suits of any kind in the pool/spa area, as clothing optional was meant to be. Makes sense to pay a bit more for two in a tent for the night with complete access to all facilities thereby absorbing the full experience of the property beyond day use hours.

Warm bath felt so good

Friendly staff, beautiful location, fun to catch & release the frogs but not much to do on site for families/kiddos since they can only go to tub/pool area between 12-6pm. Cleaning of tubs between 10am-noon. I would return probably when we are older and want to get away from WiFi and cell service.

Our sweet yurt

This was my first time to a hot springs clothing optional resort. We stayed in yurt 24, perfect for the 2 of us. I found the resort to be very clean and well run ( thanks Sid) the communal kitchen was very well stocked and had everything, knives need sharpening ( like my house ) dull knives are dangerous! You need to bring all your own food and drinks since they do not provide anything!! It's a 20 mile trip back into town on a bumpy road, so be a good scout and come prepared! Our yurt was pristine, the linens soft and very clean, I'm really picky about this stuff...we had my usual Dom and I gave some to Sid since he had never tried it before, Champagne is the elixir of the gods to me... The hot pools were very clean as well, the steam room was not working that was a bummer! That's important to me. The lounge chairs ( only 3) were really tired and having cushions would be nice. We met some very nice people and had fun, 2 days is perfect! The one negative was a lady who had a dog with her, it says it's strictly prohibited, so what was so special about her ??

On rainy days natural waterfalls are an extra treat

Nerdy Opener: Orr is basically a clothing-optional version of the Shire in Middle Earth, you know, that northern part where Hobbiton meets the Bindbole Woods. Huts with living roofs, stone footpaths, small footbridges over the river, ferns, small waterfalls, soft green woodsy areas, communal kitchens, sitting rooms with big comfy furniture, mellow laid-back people chilling... The Journey In: It's nice that I don't have to travel to New Zealand for a hobbit hot spring experience. I'll stop being nerdy now. Be warned, Orr Hot Springs road is unkind to the carsick and to cars with cumbersome handling. Twists, turns, hairpins, blind corners, etc. Count 12 miles from the turn onto the road, and then Orr Resort is pretty obvious once you get there, on the left, after some wooden fencing. There is a check in parking lot first, to the left, and then two lots to the right if you miss this one. It's $30 for day use, and make sure to book in advance. It fills up fast, and they only let a certain amount of people in a day to make sure everything stays pristine. No groups of more than 4 are allowed. Relaxing Atmosphere Makes a 5 Star Experience: I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Orr has posted signs that stress the importance of making all guests feel comfortable at all times, and everyone pretty much abides by these rules, from what I saw. They also are reiterated upon check in (I appreciated this because sometimes these places don't give you much info upon check in, and it's kind of abrupt and awkward. I appreciated the overview.). The outdoor hot pools are rather small in size, but they feel very nice and are well kept due to the daily attendance cap. Clear, calm, and naturally filtered through a drainage system. Our favorite was a snug warm pool (I would guess just shy of 100 degrees.) built into the far side of the cold swimming pool. It fit me and two friends perfectly. Orr has just about everything: Friendly Frenchman to greet, advise, and give a mini tour of the map? Check. A mellow cat named Elvis that loves pets and tolerates selfies? Check. Communal sitting areas, kitchens, shelves stuffed with books and games, and cabins to rent out for a weekend? Check. A fully functioning website and responsive, welcoming staff? Check. Three outdoor hot pools of varying size and temperature, one large spring fed swimming pool, and several private baths both indoors and outdoors? Check. Lockers, changing rooms, showers, steam room, sauna, and massage? Check. Spacious HEATED bathroom easily accessible from the pools? Check! Important: As always, check the weather before heading out. The road is unforgiving enough without rain, with makes it more difficult. There are soft shoulders with plenty of nice mud to potentially get stuck in. However, if you have faith in your driving and your car, you'll be fine. When we went this past weekend, it did rain on us, but it was light drizzle and only added to the experience. I liked sitting outdoors in the snug hot pool as rain fell on me from above. Additionally, be advised that your cell phone will not work here, and there is no wifi. If you route your phone from Ukiah, googlemaps could take you all the way (mine did!), but that's all you get. Yelpers: Check in when you get back to Ukiah proper. Checking in while you're here won't happen. I can't wait to come back for perhaps a romantic weekend or to try that Montgomery Redwoods hiking trail further down the road.

Amazing! There was an issue with my room and they quickly moved me to another room. The waters are very healing and I love the steam room !

Ask the Community - Orr Hot Springs Resort

What are the temperatures of each hot water tub?

Can I bring my dog?

How about therapy dogs?

We are coming for our anniversary in December. What would be the nicest/most romantic as far as rooms are concerned?

The Yurts are a good option, as they don't share walls with other buildings, and tend to be a bit more quiet and secluded.…

Which yurt is the quietest spot?

Yurts 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24 are generally the quietest accommodations on the property, as they are stand-alone structures, and are nestled together up on a wooded hillside. Out of those options 21 would probably be the most secluded.

Where is the closest cell reception? I'm coming for a weekend soon but will need to call or text my employer on Monday.

Once you get to the top of the ridge (10-15 minutes from Orr) cell phone reception is strong enough to send a text message, however for a reliable call you may have to go to Ukiah (30 minutes).

What do the campsites offer? Do they have fire pits or allow small propane use?

No fires allowed - smoking is only allowed in the smoking garden by the gate. There is a big communal kitchen in the lodge with commercial refrigerators, stoves and a pantry for food storage (deer and raccoons will break into your tent!)

How is the parking situation? Traveling in a dually and hauling a trailer want to stop here but concerned no place to pull in and park?

Hello! Since we have fairly limited parking, we usually cannot guarantee parking for vehicles hauling trailers (especially large trailers). Typically, if the total length is…

The spa is just off to the side of the hotel as you pull up from the beautiful road along their vineyard. Valet was helpful, waiting with umbrellas as it was pouring rain. The spa itself is somewhat small, but filled with all you need for a very high quality spa experience. The lighting is dim, the decor is natural wood and clean, yet welcoming. The products and amenities were all top notch. I enjoyed my plush robe and comfortable slippers, had a wonderful hot shower and steam, and sipped some cuc water while lounging in the waiting area. My masseuse came right on time and took me to a cozy room where my husband and I pretty much melted away for the next hour. Our therapists were both excellent, and very present the entire time. He had the hot stone add on, and I had deep tissue work. After our massage, our therapists brought us each a delicious green juice shooter. We were very impressed with this entire experience and as spa and massage regulars, I have to say this one ranks quite high on the list! We will definitely be coming here again in the near future.

My body was tired and achey, and this was just what I needed. You valet park in the hotel's front circle - it's free valet but bring cash to tip! The spa is just off of the front drive/circle. Check in in the pretty spa reception area where they sell clothing, accessories, skincare, and more. And then you're escorted to the changing/waiting area. The entire spa is neutral / earth tones...a beautiful and peaceful aesthetic. I was assigned a locker with a plush robe and slippers. Then had the opportunity to shower or use the steam room, or just relax on the beautiful lounge chairs in the zen-like waiting room. My massage started with a choice of aromatherapy body oil (mine included cinnamon and rosemary and something else), and then a singing bowl/chime. Imagine a warm bed, warm blanket, elevated head and lower legs/feet. Cozy relaxation! It ended with chimes and a shooter of house-made, nourishing green juice! Complimentary with spa treatments is use of the facilities: again shower and steam room, two outdoor pools and pool lounge area (and in the summer the pool area has a restaurant/bar). What an absolute treat! Hope to do it again soon!

We were so excited when we found healing arts and it had good reviews. I booked a prenatal massage for myself and a deep tissue massage for my husband. We were scheduled with Stephanie and Joann, respectively. When we arrive to healing arts about 10 minutes prior to our massage, we were never greeted by anybody. Eventually, a lady came out and told us they would be right with us. They ended up taking my husband and I back about 15 minutes after our scheduled massage time. While we were waiting, we could overhear women in the back discussing how a prenatal massage works and what can/ can't be done for pregnant women, which made me a little nervous, but I was still optimistic that it would be a good experience. During my massage, unfortunately, I suffered a terrible hot flash!! Stephanie handled it like a champ, turning off the table warmer, opening the window, and bringing me a cold compress and some water. I was so appreciative of how she handled it all because I was embarrassed. My massage ended up being very nice and relaxing, just what I needed. My husband also said his massage with Joann was awesome as well! Would definitely come back here if we were ever in the area.
